I enjoyed walking through the park.
Great for dog walking and nature walks.
Southwood nature preserve was a nice walk. Bring the bug spray! My family and I really enjoyed this woodsy walk right in the city. Less crowded then the nature centers nearby.
Lovely winding trails through an undeveloped area around wetlands. Waterfowl, birds and even bats live here. Very quiet. Thankfully, benches every few hundred yards. A hidden gem.
Small preserve with about one mile of hiking trails. Wooded and well maintained. Not a bunch of trash like lots of other places in the city. Has a porta potty.
Nice park, wide trails, well maintained.
Several Eagle Scout projects located within it.
Well maintained paths through natural beauty! Walking quietly, see if you can see deer and owls! Just a block from where North Saint Paul borders Maplewood and Oakdale, where those communities also have some of their nature preserves almost bordering Southwood Nature Preserve!
Nice little nature preserve in North St. Paul.

It's fairly small - just a little path around a pond tucked back in behind some neighborhoods, but the paths are maintained and kept clean, and it's a nice, short walk while surrounded by trees.
