The central station is huge, like 5 floors with different levels with trains, stores, supermarket, restaurants and more
Near to the city, just need better signals to find your train
Huge. Pretty clean. Quite a few benches scattered on floors besides the main lounge. Don't underestimate the time to find the right track of your train regardless the clear numbering and signalling. Some cafeterias and stores open until 10pm.
The Berlin Central Train Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof) boasts beautiful modernist/minimalist and futuristic architecture. The place is impeccably clean and flooded with natural light. It offers an abundance of shops, including a supermarket, food court, restaurants, coffee shops, chemist, bookstore, and clothing stores—more than one could ask for. This station should rightfully be a source of pride for Berliners.
The main station list up to its name. The station is huge, big and spacious with plenty of shops and address to pick and run. It’s a three level station with trains passing on the third level and second level spill with tops and restaurants and first level is entrance.
Multiple bus stops and train stops. BVG customer center is in Underground station. DBahn office is near by starbucks
This place is huge! But I have to say it is very clean. Signs are everywhere to help you find your way around. There are plenty of restaurants and shops for the last minute gift. Also, there are grocery stores inside the train station. Smoking is not allowed in the train station.
Berlin Hauptbahnhof Central Train Station is an absolute marvel! It's not just a transportation hub; it's an immersive experience that feels like a scene from a futuristic movie. The elevator capsules with glass walls make you feel like you're in a spaceship ready for takeoff. The abundance of restaurants, brand shops, and convenience stores throughout the station transforms it into a massive integrated mall.

One remarkable feature is its multi-level structure, where trains arrive and depart on different levels, showcasing its modernity. The cleanliness of the station is commendable, given the constant flow of travelers. You'll find familiar chains like McDonald's and REWE, delightful donut shops, captivating bookstores, and so much more.

While the station is a treasure trove, it could benefit from improved signage, especially for English-speaking tourists. Despite this minor hiccup, Berlin Hauptbahnhof remains a tourist attraction in its own right, a destination worth exploring. The kindness of the people and the sheer grandeur of this station will leave you eager to return. A must-visit spot for travelers and a testament to Berlin's forward-thinking infrastructure.
Completely underground train station.
I’ve seen many big and huge stations in cities across Europe and UK. But Berlin Hauptbahnhof Central Train Station is incredibly huge and sophisticated. It was like in the science fiction movie where it’s a home of the aliens or something with spaceship 🚀👾👽
The elevator capsules with glasses, the restaurants chains are everywhere, the brands shops and it’s just like a huge mall but integrated with train station.
I was lost and somehow Berlin treated me kind and some people helped me. I’ll be back someday.
#Urlaubvibes
This train station is a tourist attraction in itself! It stretches on many levels and even trains arrive on different levels, very modern. There are many shops and restaurants and it’s fairly clean despite the massive traffic.
Very good main train station in Berlin central, with many possibilities to look into shops, coffees and restaurants.
The main trane station is also close to river Spree, where you can use alot of time to explore opportunities alongside the river.
Berlin Central Station, or Berlin Hauptbahnhof, is the bustling heart of the city's transportation network. This modern architectural marvel not only connects you to various parts of Germany and Europe but also offers a shopping and dining experience like no other. With its sleek design and easy accessibility, it's the perfect starting point for exploring Berlin's many attractions. Don't forget to grab a coffee and soak in the energy of this iconic transportation hub before you embark on your Berlin adventure.

It's a nice tall gate and represents the history of the city. You can literally breathe (and imagine) the history. Beautiful and a must see.
A great station with high quality and diverse facilities. Bear in mind that you need to pay for the toilet, but cards are accepted. Note too that the luggage lockers only accept coins and the change machines were out of action when we visited. Lots of beggars selling papers and collecting in cups - be aware.
A HUGE and beautiful station full of amazing shops, restaurants and convenience stores. This station is massive and has multiple floors with trains leaving from several platforms. There is a McDonald’s, a REWE, donut shops, book shops and more. Toilets are all mostly clean and only costs a small charge to enter. Signage could be a bit better as an English speaking tourist, can be a bit confusing at times. Apart from this, I love this station.
Well strategised, excellent service from the Bahnhof staffs, nice layout, information of the next catching trains are right in every corner, the Bahnhof Staff are right there if incase of any inquiries! And the connecting trams and business are just right close by!

Clean train station
Big stations with shops to buy food and other products. You can buy tickets at the ticket office (look for shop that says “Fahrkahrten”), or yourself at the ticket booth near the perrons.

Station.
There are luggage lockers for good price - small for 3 euro/24 h and big for 5 euro/24 h. The big one is perfect for two cabin bags and a backpack

We like the metro and trains. Station is good. Everything is clearly understandable. Displays shows waiting time till the next train.

You always have a nice view of the sunsets here. Cool for taking pictures etc.

Sometimes a lot of chaos as well but other than that on most nights, this place is beautiful and calming.

Check it out if you are in Berlin especially during the festival of lights and the holiday season
It provides convenience to many places in terms of transportation. Hygiene and toilet are enough and not good. Ticket vending machines are not good and I would like it to be more technological. there are too many homeless people. This doesn't feel safe. But I still had no problems.
It's big Train station with many stores
There’s no train RB23 anymore. On their official airport website it says that you can take a direct local train from Alexanderplatz to the airport terminal 1-2. We arrived to this train station, walking around, but found no information, no directions. Security guys didn’t know about this RB23 train. Some woman said that this train doesn’t exist anymore. We had to run like crazy to find another alternative to get to the airport. Extremely poorly organized public transport, no English directions. Very disappointed in German organization skills.

Lots of homeless people around begging for money, I didn’t feel safe. Not cozy train station…
Very useful station and very grateful for the strangers who helped me by telling which train I should take 🙏 Love Germans and Berlin
Toilet staff are crooks. I was told to pay 1€, and when I wanted to enter, I was told that I cannot enter as he was cleaning but to go the handicapped stall. The handicapped bathroom had a line as it was only for one person. I was going to miss my train so I asked for my money back. He said I can’t get it back. Basic human necessities, you can’t even pee when you pay in Germany.
Train station is fine but there sure are a lot of people walking around there upset over the existence of homeless people as they continue onto their own warm homes, avoid if you don't like apathetic jerks
The Brandenburg Gate, located in the heart of Berlin, is an iconic symbol of Germany's tumultuous history. Completed in 1791, the gate has stood witness to centuries of upheaval and change, from the triumphs of the Prussian Empire to the horrors of the Holocaust.
Today, the Brandenburg Gate stands as a symbol of unity and freedom, having played a central role in the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The gate has become one of Berlin's most visited tourist attractions, attracting millions of visitors each year.
History of the Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburg Gate was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a symbol of peace and victory after the end of the Seven Years' War. Designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans, the gate was inspired by the Propylaea, the gateway to the Acropolis in Athens.
The gate features 12 Doric columns, six on each side, supporting an entablature with a frieze of horses and chariots. Above the frieze is a quadriga, a chariot drawn by four horses driven by the goddess Eirene, symbolizing peace.
In 1806, Napoleon Bonaparte entered Berlin and ordered the quadriga to be taken to Paris as a war trophy. The quadriga was returned to Berlin in 1814 after Napoleon's defeat. During the 19th century, the Brandenburg Gate became an essential symbol of Prussian power and was often used to celebrate military victories.
During World War II, the Brandenburg Gate was heavily damaged by Allied bombing raids. After the war, Berlin was divided into four zones, with the Brandenburg Gate located in the Soviet-controlled zone. The gate became a symbol of the Cold War and the division of Germany.
In 1961, the East German government erected the Berlin Wall, which ran just a few meters to the east of the gate. The gate was inaccessible for almost three decades, and the quadriga was covered in graffiti and bullet holes.
The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989
On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall fell, signalling the end of the Cold War and the reunification of Germany. Thousands of people flocked to the Brandenburg Gate to celebrate the historic moment, and the gate became a symbol of hope and unity.
The quadriga was restored, and the gate was again opened to the public. Today, the gate is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Germany's commitment to freedom and democracy.
The Brandenburg Gate today
The Brandenburg Gate is a popular destination for tourists and locals. The gate is at the end of Unter den Linden, a tree-lined boulevard that runs through the heart of Berlin.
Visitors can walk through the gate and explore the surrounding area, home to many museums, restaurants, and shops. The entrance is also famous for events and celebrations, including the annual New Year's Eve party.
The Brandenburg Gate has become an important symbol of Berlin's past and present. It stands as a testament to the German people's resilience and commitment to democracy and freedom.

A lot of homeless people, lacks of restrooms, drinking water fountains, place to sit. Forgotten by the city station.
The square in front of it is harsh, a lot of crime and shady people. The station is just typical for Berlin (so still extremely far from 1st world standards)
Cool station, busy and nice, bur I think that for many people it is very confusing. I had to help several people to get oriented because they are looking for the S-Bahn or Regional trains, and they do not know how to get there so easily. But it is a nice place where you can also find supermarkets open during Sunday as well.
This railway station-Zoologischer Garten is a rather oppressive place in the early morning and evening hours. Homeless people and beggars are definitely a visible part of everyday life here. It reminds me a bit of Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo Although the legendary drug zoo is pretty clean these days, it still reminds me a bit of the past, which is emotionally.. weird.

It has service from lines S1, S2, S25, and S26 from S-Bahn, and line U5 from U-Bahn.
Simple train station with many good food stores and a DB service center. However, too many homeless people and other strollers around that tend to bug people.
The absolute quietest station for how large it is. Took a second to find the exit but once out I was amazed to see how pretty the entrance/exit was. The whole train system was super easy and non-German speaking tourists, to which I commend the translated signs.

Beautiful park in the very center of the city, nice to walk through on a summer day on your way from the West to the east.

Overcrowded to the extreme. Passengers had to wait for up to five minutes just to leave the platform via one tine stairs an an elevator that holds two persons with luggage. Reasonably clean, no shade, almost no seating available

One of the most important station in Berlin. Earlier, when Tegel airport were operational this was one of the most important station. Even now it connects to the heart of Berlin and is still an important one. Over the years the structure has remained identical.

The Brandenburg Gate is much more than just one of Berlin’s historic city gates. It is one of the world’s most famous Berlin landmarks. It is a symbol for many important historical events of the 19th and 20th centuries. Many music festivals with light and sound modern technologies
One of the top most attraction for the visitors in Berlin. People use to visit this place must. The gate has a historical importance, an opening between east and west Germany. You will find pictures of the Tor everywhere. There are some visiting places just in a walking ways from the Berlin Brandenburg Tor. You will find rickshaw, horse ride etc here.

A connection of S-Bahn and RE (regional trains). They have fix schedule, for example, 18:21 and 19:48. You may find some cozy benches with USB charging ports inside the station. There are three shops which sell drinks especially coffee or Turkish black tea.(same as beer and…) Also there is a flower shop there.

They want to carrot.
Everything's nice, except a petty crime happened to us in our first time being here. I took photo of spot before we walked to Berlin Wall Memorial. Three looking students ( 2 girls, 1 boy) approached us when we came out from the underground station. Three looked OK ( no make-up, good faces, casual dress). They introduced as volunteers to an Int'l Student Group ( I forgot the name), wanted visitors to support € 10/ each so students in need have better living. They showed us book of different signatures & € 10 people wrote down. So, we did & cash out. We walked away but I then stopped looking at map. We're near enough to see next gentleman was stopped by them. He's asked for same thing. Unlike us, he refused " Kids, I help myself only". Guess what!? The boy got angrily saying behind that man "No money, go back to your country. You're not welcomed here". That moment, I realized, they're not "genuine volunteers".

Nice Station in Berlin at crossing centre, very convenient accessible by U Bahn Station and Bus station. Building seems to be under construction, so long distance regional train are boarded separately, clean and toilets available.

One of the key train stations in Berlin. It has several shops, restaurants and hotels.
The uniqueness of this station is that ad hoc grocery shopping can be done on Sunday, since Rewe, Penny and Rossman are in the station and allowed to open on Sunday.

Just opposite the station is the longest wall of the world..the Berlin wall still preserved

Nice and clean. The overall impression was very positive when compared with many other major cities' subway systems.
The metro in Berlin worked very well and it was easy to understand where to go even for us who do not know the German language.

To get to The Berlin Flea Market, you can get off here.
The busiest bus, tram, metro train junction in Berlin and also the most popular square in the city! Changing trains could be a an interesting hassle with people everywhere. There are many many stores and shops for clothing, souvenirs, coffee, food and drinks etc. both under the station entrance and ofcourse outside. One needs to be sharp and alert of the pick-pockets here. Has a nice ambience around with the TV tower at the back.
For me personally U-bahn was excellent way of going through Berlin and I liked artsy parts. Stations are clean and you can relatively fast and easy go around using all available U and S lines.

4 platforms (2 of them are for S-bahn) easy access, but there is something missing here. And I do not mean shops.
A modern build, spacious and very accesible complex. Great restaurants around too!
When you are in the city for a while, you cross the Branderburger Tor several times, and when there is any special festivity, or special day for the city, will take event in the Branderburger Tor for sure, gathering the people and with any show or spectacle. I personally recommend ( if you are visiting during October ) going at night for the festival of lights, they make a show of lights with figures on the gate. Another way to see it.

One of the best stations in Berlin. Easy catching S bahns and U bahns. Frequently trains coming and going.
Has a good waiting area with comfortable seats and marts available.
Good for traveling entire Berlin.
Wheelchair accessible
Easy going for kids and adolescents.
from the Airport coming or going to the Airport Tegel (TXL) is possible you've to Change on this Station / Bahnhof / U-Bahnhof to / from the Bus.

Please use to the Airport TXL Bus No.: X9 (express) or 109 at STOP 1.
The modern side of Berlin is here! A place that was completely bombed during the WWII and remained derelict and empty for decades gave place to very modern constructions and it's a very cultural hub: cinemas, bars, lounges and, of course, the Berlin Philharmonik building. If you're in search of modern architecture, Potdsdamerplatz is a "no-miss" place.
A huge, beautiful station which seems to have started to fall into a state of disrepair.

Dirty floors, filthy glass, dirt and dust along edges of floor and escalator, the amazing wall light panels have a lot of bulbs needing replaced.

I am saddened that one of the places I loved to visit when in Berlin has become one that I would recommend you consider avoiding ....... unless somebody sorts out a cleanup operation to bring this location back to its former glory.
Conveniently located station in East Berlin with easy access all parts of Berlin. All forms of transport are within easy reach from the station such as bus & tram. Plenty of shops, food and department stores in the vicinity.
