It has a wide variety of items for sale from fresh fruit and veggies to exotic meats and seafood. I find that some prices are very good compared to others.
All are good, just not feel good with some of the receptionists. They all show attitude with customer. I almost go there every Sunday, and it's annoyed me sometimes

Why do you say open when it's closed! Why are you wasting a customer's time?
My mom and family always shop at this store since it opened. The staff/owner just stands around and wouldn't even lift a finger to do their job. Today when my grandma and mom was shopping there. My mom was asked to move her items from the line belt to the bagging area after it was rang through. When my mom said how come they don't move it forward as they're supposed to after ringing it through. The staff/owner started saying, "You talk too much and started flipping out ranting in their own language. After leaving to start their ranting. The staff/owner then proceeded to say and this time in English, "Next time you no come here". This such disgusting, rude and condescending behaviour towards customers. They are only around because of paying customers in the community. Yet there's the nerve and audacity to treat people with such attitude. If you want to take customers for granted and don't work to improve on your customer service skills then maybe you don't deserve customers at all. I wouldn't even give one star if it wasn't a requirement. More like negative 5 stars -5*. I would recommend people to stay away from this store.
I would like to warn people, especially the seniors to be have better situation awareness while shopping here. My mother has had her purse and cell phone stolen, being a victim twice, while shopping for groceries. Often she goes out alone, and to be honest, who goes grocery shopping with the thoughts of being targeted by thieves? They’re hitting vulnerable people, said losers have no conscience as to the inconveniences they cause. I have informed the local 31 Division Toronto Police of that location. Please be safe and aware. Kien Hung store owner, this is nothing against you, but shady people are around there, please also be aware of this if you aren’t already.

Other than this unfortunate situation, this supermarket does carry items not found anywhere else in the vicinity of my area. I have family members travelling from as far as King City to shop here.

This place is fantastic for Indo-Chinese groceries! They offer a wide selection of fresh and frozen seafood and chicken of excellent quality. There's plenty of parking available, and they have a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, and groceries. Additionally, being in a plaza, there's a bakery and restaurant nearby, which adds to the convenience. Overall, it's a great spot with helpful staff. Highly recommended!

The entrance looked like vegetarian heaven. Cheap greens everywhere. Place like these allow me to understand better why groceries prices by the larger corporation are unbelievably high. But there are some items here that are expensive too…. Can’t win at all right? They gotta profit too 🤭

Loved the varieties of fresh groceries they have! Unfortunately, over last weekend we bought a bag of Asian pears that all of them were rotten from inside. We have no choice but have to throw them out!
this store should closed down because they don't know how to train their staff to be professional and polite to serve customers.
We bring business to you why you so Rude? Both, Verbally and body language shows like you're going to eat customers alive.
Especially at the customer service express line, this morning was so quiet, the two girls standing there chatting but once they serve ; The cashier extremely Rude and aggressive. She should be Fire immediately.
Don't ever shop here.
There many Asian groceries around.

This place is the worst, very rude employees. They yell and belittle their customers, they are desperately in need of some serious customer service skills. I went to purchase some goat and the guy was so rude, I asked him if it was mutton and his response was “you tell me “ how the hell am I supposed to tell you when you work there and you should know. I believe I was sold mutton instead of goat just for them to get rid of it. I called the store and the so called manager told me that there’s no mutton only goat but myself and my daughter saw the sign. Long story short ,the rude manager hung up on me then ignored my calls. These people are rude to the people that support them, they don’t value their customers so I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
Far from my place, but so much variety to choose from. Wish that the store was near my neighborhood. So many eateries nearby by and parking is easy to get most of the time.
Best fruit and veggies selection! And you absolutely cannot
Best their meat prices and quality. Where else is ground beef or chicken wings 1.88 a pound? nowhere!!!! That's where.
the supermarket with the WORST customer service, or at least for people who don't speak Chinese. When you get to the checkout to pay they don't even look at you, they don't even ask you if you need a bag and when you ask for one they tell you it's too late. I thought they were like that with all clients but you can see that the interaction is different if you speak Chinese, it may be something cultural, but I think that in general kindness is always going to be kindness no matter what language you speak.

Peace!

Worse place worst owner! He borrowed money from my husband because he couldn’t pay his mortgage and when we asked for it he been saying come this day, that day and time passed by and finally its my husband’s mortgage time and he has no work as he is injured, this owner has no sympathy and made us calling him back and forth and finally he said he sent the money by email transfer and we were waiting for it and no email transfer at all…. He also said he will send us screen shot of it and never did. What a cheat basted! I don't know why he even running the business if he has to borrow money from customers…just close the store and stay home! No honesty at all and full of lies!!!

Stay Away!! Do not shop here!!Not very honest owners, borrowing money from their own customers and not paying back. They need to learn how to be honest business owners and respect their customers.

I was followed around this store as a potential shoplifter, even though I was wearing a BRIGHT RED coat and buying a product that was on sale for ONE DOLLAR. Seriously, if I was going to shoplift, would I wear such a bright colour and go for the cheapest item possible?? This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience here. I will never shop at this store again.

My mom bought a fresh Chinese yellow croaker fish with 19/lb which other supermarket market was doing $4.99/lb on sales (even not on sale was selling $5.29/lb). It was just 2 days apart from she found that out. She was so pissed and asked me to leave this comment.

It already expired on July 10,2023. It said on the label to keep it longer in freezer -18⁰ not in cooler. If you see it from cooler, don't buy it/sell it.

Don't expect anything resembling customer service (they can be very rude and often act like they don't know English). Decent selection of fruits & veggies just be sure to check them thoroughly for mold and rot (they will argue with you if you try to return moldy or rotten food that you just purchased).
I came in on labour day for groceries and decided to buy some fish. They charge you extra for cleaning and I said ok. When I came home I was surprised to see that most of the fish were almost not even cut open. This is unacceptable. It is like stealing people money. Will never come back.

I just bought a few things at Sunny just now (12:13pm now). The Chinese broccoli was extremely stale - mostly hidden inside the bag where a shopper cannot see.
I’ve attached the receipt and the conditions of the vegetables. Too bad I don’t live close or else I would return it. Not recommending this store for veggies!
I am writing this and I hope the manager see this: The fish section is an absolute animal abuse. It is like a horror movie. Fishes are alive looking at the other fished cut to pieces all the time until it is their turns to violately killed by hitting their heads in front of the rest. Crabs are alive, lost their legs, cracked to pieces and try to move between separated legs and remains of other dead fellows and look up innocently to your eyes waiting for their death.
I am not vegetarian but looking at fish section in Tontai make me cry every time I am there and feel so bad for few days. You can eat animals in a more moral way and cause less pain and torture for these innocent creatures who cannot protect themselves from the human savage.
Don't forget that they are ALIVE, like you and me and they feel pain and scared.
Please, Please do something.
Great asian options. I love their produce section. Anyone from South east Asia or a fanatic of south east and south asian food would love this market for sure. The people at the check out can be cold and impatient- don’t let that get to you.
Receipt number P1230624095909. 2023–06–24. && 04-Fish seafood. $18.52

My wife asked the fish counter to cut a salmon piece. They laughed and said “no”. You buy the whole fillet.

If i was with her in the store, such sexist behaviour would not be tolerated. Up until now, we both extolled the excellent quality of your seafood.
I cannot support a business that treats women like this. That is a pity. I will also share my views on social media. Good bye, Tone Tai.

Cheap and good quality. This place has been my regular grocery store ever since I discovered it. The spice were cheaper than Food Basics. Meat are generally cheaper than most chained grocery stores. They have a good selection of Asian ingredients!

For a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, seasonings, and snacks from different countries, you’re sure to have a high chance of finding what you’re looking for right here. Their produce always looks fresh and all shelves are always stocked. This store always looks clean and very spacious even for wheelchair-accessible customers in most aisles. Check out is always fast and efficient. Point to note, they still offer plastic bags in case you forgot your bag. Their meat section is also very clean and does not have a pungent smell.

At 3am with temperatures above 10° I noticed 3 carloads of raw chicken in the strorage area behind the grocery store. This means the chicken was outside for minimum 12 hours from close to open which is extremely dangerous and high risk for salmonella. Major health standard violation.
Good supermarket in the area, really helps the neighborhood for folks who can’t go far. Selection is wide, meets your everyday needs.

South and South East Asian cooking essentials like curry leaves and pandan at very fair prices, along with a slew of other grocery, pantry, and sundry staples makes this tiny Sri Lankan grocery store an easy recommend 👍🏽👍🏽

Plus the staff are friendly, professional, and helpful.

Hey , I am from India I just visited your store form google maps and your store looks very amazing with reasonable rates and fresh items. When i will come to Toronto I'll surely buying all my groceries from your store only.
Nice
Quite surprised by this place to be honest. Consistently fresh vegetables and a great meat counter with a wide variety of fresh cuts at great prices, my go to spot for Pork Belly as I’ve found it’s the best around. I recently tried the Center cut Pork Spare Ribs and they were awesome too, only $8 for 2 lengthy racks 👌🏼👌🏼
It's an Asian super market. Very busy on the weekend. Lots of choices and can have good prices. Parking in the strip mall can be challenging and it is tightly packed inside the store. Can be smelly where the seafood and meats are sold. Lineups for cashier is long.
This is a very large, very well hidden grocery store inside the Peanut Plaza complex. There's a great variety of Asian products, in extreme detail, also some other cultural ingredients like latinamerican. Meat shop and fresh fish market inside too! The produce section is quite large with very fresh items. There's a good distribution of the items but the visual is overwhelming. I try to imitate certain shoppers to test new products. The store is generally clean with the odd smell here and there but nothing too offensive, overall well kept. The downside is there are not enough lanes open to pay so big lineups. The prices seem quite fair.

I understand that things are getting more expensive, but it does not mean selling cheaper price of rotten, moldy vegetables is the appropriate way. Could not eat them and threw in the garbage. Also bought a case of mango, they looked good and ripe outside and really to eat, but when I brought home and cut them, majority of them were rotten from the mango husks out to the meat. This actually not the first time they selling things that are rotten. So disappointed and wont never come back.

Update: Increased the stars because of the fresh cooked foods here.
