The service provided by this meat shop has left me fully satisfied, and I am particularly impressed with the high quality of the meat they offer. Additionally, I find their pricing to be very competitive.
Recommend for halal meat 😊

Pathetic customer service and unprofessional staff, cashiers behind the counter was disrespectful. Used to come here for desi groceries from last three years but will not come back again.

disrespectful behavior from your staff members, which greatly affected my experience. dismissive attitude,
I have been coming to this store since I was a kid and it has largely remained unchanged.
Great grocery store for buying various Asian goods, such as sauces!

More standout are the delis at Viet Hoa. They put out so much delicious food in packages or to eat there! We had the rice with 2 toppings, which is very cheap starting at only $6.50. You also can't miss out on trying the fried bananas!
Typical Asian supermarket. Don't go here on Friday, saturday, or Sunday it get Hella busy
I like this local Asian market. It’s small but carries great products. I like the produce here, also meats and seafood are very good. They carry some of the specialty condiments for boiled noodles that I can’t find anywhere else. Love this place 👍
This place is full of varieties of great wholesale prices on basic necessities, foods, and products. Yo you can't miss a dine coming to chop here. My experience was awesome 👌

This place is horrible, they are making ashamed Afghanistan food and recipe, the qabuly palaw is not the way of Afghan choice and the zero taste and the rice is looking like peices of rock, I don’t recommend this place to anyone as Afghanistan choice food place.
This place has it all from international snacks, to hot ready made foods and fresh live food not to mention plants, housewares and cooking ware. You could spend all day here and not see everything. Great prices too. You’ll find many things you never knew you could eat or even existed. An experience you’ll never forget.

Worse place. Went there, purchase two sugar cane juice. And they were not fresh and taste was nad n smelling. I showed and ask the juice maker to taste them yourself they are not find. And he said. We cant do anything.
Threw them in trashcan in front of them and and paid 12$
The bread is very tasty and fresh, but the customer service did not surprise me at all
Just a quick visit for some snack inside the store. Not as big grocery store as others in the area, but it has enough choices. Price wise average - I didn’t see much stuff on sales at all.
It was great! It's just that they have to clean their store more since I see some dirt on the floor at the fresh seafoods area.
This Asian grocery inside the mall has a lot of product selection, good produce, and meat and seafood. We stopped in to look at the fresh fruits and bought some eggfruit. The prices are fair and the quality is good. The store is older and still seems to run on 80s and 90s equipment. Still, it's worth stopping in to check out the grocery and the prepared foods.

This is one of the best Asian supermarkets in Houston. I mean it. Do you need something for your Asian cooking or decoration? Bamboo steamers? Hawthorne? Yakult? Hong bao?

It's all there. If you want to make something East Asian, just start at this store. You will find everything you need.
I come here for fresh fish and all kinds of sauce. They are relatively cheap here and available in larger quantities
"Hong Kong Food Market is my go-to spot for Asian groceries and dining delights! It's a fantastic place where I consistently find everything I crave. The variety is impressive, and the prices are reasonable. A perfect blend of convenience and affordability. Highly recommended for all Asian food enthusiasts! 🥢🛒 #HongKongFoodMarket #AsianCuisine"

I enjoy coming here whenever I’m in the Houston area. It always has what I’m looking for and for a cheap price. It’s not the cleanest, but those are the best kinds of Asian market. They have a large selection of live seafood such as shellfish and fish. They’ll even put the fish out of its misery when you buy a live fish. They also have a large meat section where they butcher you meats for you. I can spend a lot of time going through every aisle.

The parking is huge. This large market is located within an even larger building where you’ll find vendors and many other Asian stores and restaurants. The staff speaks limited English so if you’re looking for something and pressing for time, perhaps Google it in Vietnamese and see if someone can help you. They also have a little area where they sell roast duck, char siu pork, and roast pork.
Nice store, many items to choose from. We got a few things to try.
Parking is exhausting packed.

The produce section, as well as the seafood and butcher shop are unparalleled. I like the sign on the broken freezer isle door. The smell of the fish counter could be improved.

One star removal for the apparent lack of alcoholic products. Did your liquor license revoked?!
Good place to search all you want in Chinese food and other things. Amazing place they have life fish and good quality products.

I love the cooked duck sold there among other items wish the cashier's were more friendly and I'm not talking about the Hispanic ones neither. That would be my only complaint other than that I love this store.
I had an excellent visit today! This is an awesome store. There is a Wholesale Club on this lot as well, don't get confused because it (WC) charges $5.00 for a one day visit. The International grocery store charges only for what you purchase. They offer some of everything, including hot dishes at a reasonable price!

WORST customer service ever!!!!!! The cashier lady treated my parents so badly. She yelled at my senior parents for not picking up some merchandises another person has dropped. Why didn’t she do it? My parents not their workers and my dad was holding my child as well.
The amount of Asian food in H Mart is top notch. Fresh herbs, fruit, seafood, meat and poultry. The snack isle is great too. You want it, they have it. They even have a place to order cooked food in the back, with seating. This place is huge. Definitely a hot spot for your grocery needs!

Foods from here are usually fresh but I have had some issues with outdated canned foods. Overall, it’s a place to go to in Houston for your Myanmar food needs.
I can't believe I didn't know about this gem! My grandmother (born and raised in Osaka Japan) used to bring home a lot of these ingredients. Finding Rose rice and Japanese style Mochi was reminiscent of my childhood. Welcome food center brought back the best memories of my grandma, and for that I will be forever greatful!!
Fun shopping experience. I was there for the sheet masks but perused every aisle. My friend ordered gigantic shrimp that were $14 for 2 pounds. There are tons of items to choose from.

The Temp. of the seafood department is not cool enough. It provides different cut and care for cleaning seafood.

Produce is fresh, the price of meat is reasonable, and space btwn each aisle is wide enough.

The staff are helpful and friendly.
What an amazing place! So many choices for all things Asian! Great selection of produce, seafood, ramen, rice, and more. If you are looking for ingredients for your Asian meal this is the place. Store is clean and well organized. Lots of fresh produce and great selection of frozen items too. The fish and seafood selection was great also.

Excellent market spot if you are looking for a good variety of Asian specialities. Great for exotic fruits and veggies you can't find at your everyday grocery store. Good place for exploring food items.
Love this market! This is one is even bigger than the one close to where I live. The options for asian goods is the highlight of this place. I usually bug sauces, marinated means, exotic fruits, and frozen items. If only I understand the languages on the packaging, I'd probably buy more products.
A traditional Asian market, where you can find stuff that you not even think that exists!!!

Health violations in progress. Seriously, someone is going to get sick from the lack of proper food handling. Chickens in open top containers at room temperature to steamed meat buns barely covered stashed among the vegetables. I grew up shopping at Asian grocery stores, but this one has many concerning violations. Please change your ways before a customer gets food poisoning or illness.
Amazing all the things you can find really fresh....AND a lot of new things you are not going to find on a regular supermarket

Pros:

Fresh fish
Wide variety of Vietnamese food
Affordable prices
Friendly staff
Cons:

Small store
Can be crowded
Not all items are labeled in English
Overall, I would give Thang Hung Food Market a 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great place to find fresh Vietnamese food at affordable prices. However, the store is small and can be crowded, so be prepared.

Ask for help if you need it. The staff is friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you don't know what something is.
I really liked shopping in this place, the vegetables and fruits were very fresh and my favorite of all the seafood. I was impressed now this store will be my new place to do my shopping.
False advertising. Their posted prices and “sales” change when you get to the cash register. Prices went up at least $5 and when you want to return something you JUST PURCHASED, they don’t allow it. Really whack policies here. And I’m Vietnamese, so I don’t think it’s a racist thing. Just a scamming people thing.

Amazing experience for my mom and I. Came in without an appointment and met w a sweet old Chinese man. He asked about our ailments, listened to our heartbeat (wrists), looked at our tongues, and gave us a custom tea remedy.

Visit was $10 for consultation and then you get a custom tea. 10 servings for +/-$60. Best money spent.

My mom had not been able to raise her arms for months. She went to a traditional dr who ran tests, did scans, and said nothing was wrong. No breaks in her bones. Gave her a shot, and she was still in pain. Came here, and after her diagnosis, the medicine man pressed on her shoulder, and she is now able to move her arm freely. My mom is ecstatic and how much better she feels. It's been a week and she is going back before going home to see him again.

I have ulcerative colitis and have been experiencing a flare for months. After meeting with the medicine man, my symptoms began subsiding after a few days of drinking the custom made herbal tea. I've had symptoms for 4 months and recently came home from the hospital. Been taking all the medications, steriods, infusions as prescribed by my GI doctor and open to other ways to heal. Very confident the tea has made the biggest impact. When he read my palm and listened to my heart, he said I have heat in my liver and low blood sugar. My custom tea 🍵 is interesting. Call it my 'NOT a Bahama Mama'... it's probably the worst tasting thing you can drink. However it's what my body needs and I'm grateful for every funky flavor it has.

Very happy to have found this place and highly recommend it. The ladies in the front were very kind, helpful and patient with us.

Be careful when you shopping here . The lady boss is terrible, when I was shopping cupping cups here. She kept putting the broken cup into the cup I picked. And I believe after I pointed out she put the broken cup back to the shelf for next person…
Didn't have enough time to check it out in detail but it's a nice Asian store. You can find flavors of chips, Oreos or foods you won't find anywhere else in Houston. Quite affordable as well and very clean.
Buen lugar para comprar productos qué en otros lugares no se encuentran como el vino seco qué se utiliza para cocinar

This location has been actually "Sun Wing Supermarket" for a while now. In order to pack more goods in, the isles are narrow so it is not very comfortable to explore or shop thru them. The floor is old and worn out that looks dirty. Not very well lighted. Staffs are nice & friendly thought. Regular selection of mainly southeast asian groceries. In general, I don't see it compare to Hmart, Great Wall, Jusgo, or Welcome Food…etc. just a few minutes away on Bellaire Blvd. Will go try its deli dept. next time.

I've found many spoiled food inside a bag and when check expiration, it doesn't have one or it expire.

If y'all don't mind consuming spoiled food then Goodluck to ur health.

Dishonest business with no integrity. Low quality herbs and they short me on weight on every single herbal I bought! I have family member visiting and he is a Chinese medicine doctor who diagnoses writes ingredient lists and brews herbal medicine, he noticed immediately after getting home and reweigh everything with my kitchen scale, all ingredients are short various amounts. They deserved to be persecuted, disgusting, fraud!

This is one of two Burmese places in Houston. It is crowded but prices are ok.

I know they cater to the area Burmese population and cannot control the customers. I got sick of one of the customers berating USA. If you don't like it go back. I think the owners need to limit 'friends' hanging out and chatting. Place is too small for that.

I do like the Burmese dishes they have on weekends and fresh vegetables. I do think that I will start trying out th other place

Cheap and a lot of food. I love their live seafood, all kinds if shrimps, lobters, crawfish, fish, meats, and crabs. They are very cheap on vegetables and snacks. Always update on new snacks and fruits. Highly recommend for everyone
This is a great place to shop with lots of fresh green leafy seasonal vegetables, fresh seafood, meat, sundries, and many more. Best it has a big floral plant mini nursery and a section specific for Chinese herbs n meds.
One of the Vietnamese trademark supermarket in Houston. Very popular. Located on Bellaire Blvd or Dai Lo Little Saigon Area. You can find literally everything imported from Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea and China. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fishes. They got fish tanks here. Cut and clean for you for free. Their main attraction is the natural homegrown flowers and plants from South East Asian. You have to come by and check out yourself. Highly recommend for any visitors.
Prices are extremely fair, good quality produce and meats. Even the seafood area is very clean. Very cultural, I loved every minute here. Definitely get good deals on anything and authentic food on the outside. We're definitely coming back again.

Great store. I’ve lived in the area for three years now and didn’t notice this was an Asian store and I’m so happy I went in! Not only do they sell all your Asian essential, they also carry some African, Indian, Mexican and Jamaican food items you may need. It’s really an international grocery store. They have fresh seafood, meat, veggies and fruit. Reasonably priced items! I highly recommended going if in need of international foods or spices

Clean and good
Such a nice experience! I found every ingredient I was looking for and the sweet little senior women shopper's were so assistive and communicable. It's really unfortunate that we have to magnify the interactions that we've found pleasant outside our culture because we were not created to shun one another but rather to embrace however, I make it a point to extend kindness because it's really the only way you can expect to receive it. The very beautiful young lady and gentleman were exceptional and for that I was super pleased and.will shop here again. If you are hoping to get your hands on some of the orient's special flavors /spices I suggest you stop by with your grocery list.
Thanks to all. I felt as comfortable as I do in the Thang Hung U normally frequent on Gears Rd-Houston.

A great place and owner and staff are verry nice and kind
All the grocery verry fresh LoVe It.
The personnel there helped me find the item I was looking for because I totally passed it up on the bottom shelf. He was really nice, courteous, professional and patient with helping me find what I needed. The packaging was all sticky, so I had to wash the stickiness off really good when I got home. I would say that the shelves and items need a good wipe down with hot water and a rag to get the sticky stuff off the shelves so that it's not on the items packaging.
Smells funky but what asian market without fish smell..... Good selection of dry and frozen food tho. Variety of coconut milk ranging from canned to paper packaged.
UPDATE 1/2023:

WOW, they have really spiffed up the place! It's a whole new store. I may miss the old Chinese store smell, but the delicious aroma of Chinese food wafting over from the deli to greet me was a welcome smell. Everything looks more organized and feels more spacious. There are big neon signs to make finding areas like the butcher counter or natural foods easier. Yep, this is even more so my favorite Chinese grocery store!

*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*

I have to say that Welcome's renovation a year or so ago has improved its appearance and cleanliness.

I like seeing a security officer when I enter. When I make Chinese jerky, I always go to the meat counter as they say their meat, like pork, is local.

Welcome is a true Chinese grocery store. I find things here that will not be at the Korean HMart or at California-based Ranch 99. The staff may be mainly Chinese-speaking, but to me it gives an authentic vibe. Yes, you have to make sure things aren't expired and certain areas may smell, but that adds to the cultural experience.

It's so easy to swing by the deli area and scoop out of the pot of soaking tea eggs just one for a quick snack.

My very, very favorite prepared food item is the leaf-wrapped, string tied guongdong rice "tamale." It has at least half a dozen delicious, savory ingredients that have been boiled in rice for hours! I remember devouring similar homemade doong that my mother used to make in my childhood. There are other doong there, but this one is flavorful and filling. The last one I bought was still warm, so I sat in my car and straightaway devoured it!!!

Tons of Asian food options, fresh seafood, live seafood, live frogs, live eel, redfish head, salmon head, snails, and more!

They have plenty of imported drinks, dried foods, canned and jarred sauces, even the regular American meat cuts, ribs, etc. American beer, Japanese beer, etc. but I didn’t see any Chinese beer. Plenty of wines to select from as well.

It’s a very large, spacious grocery store and they have plenty of fresh produce to choose from too.
