Top Italian grocery stores in Christchurch, New Zealand

I had the best pasta of my life here yesterday. I have enjoyed many pizzas here with their delicious authentic bases and delicious toppings but yesterday I had the pasta of the day. Filled pasta of the day, mushroom with a butter and herb sauce and it was a game changer. Delicate and delicious.

I was disappointed. Mostly the staff were pretty surly and unorganized. My gnocchi was out of a packet. Someone ordered extra ham on pizza and got chopped up bits, not nice ham, added after cooking. I don't know why the change?

We booked a week in advance for a table of 10 including 3 young children. We were told it would be a set menu since they expected to be busy at that time, but it would mean the food could be preprepared so we didnt have to wait too long. Well we were waiting a VERY long time. Over an hour before the mains came out, and nearly another hour for dessert. Yes they were busy when we arrived, but by the time we finally got our desserts the place was nearly empty. No apologies, nor even acknowledgment that we had been waiting for so long. 2+ hours is excessive in my opinion, especially while trying to keep young children happy. Food was nice, so 2 stars for that, but appalling service means we will not be going again.

Been here a couple times now, each time I come the food is delish and the service is excellent. Friendly staff and very yummy food with prices super affordable for what you are getting! Highly recommend

Haven’t eaten here, but I ordered an item from their shop as a Christmas present for a family member in the area and the service was phenomenal and they took great care of me. Sounds like a lovely place!

The stock on offer is fabulous, very fresh and super tasty... wish I had found this shop when I first moved to Christchurch!

Really great shop in here with some nice (cheap!!) wines and lots of med classics - I come here to buy dolma (both arabic and greek types available here on my last visit).

The staff are very friendly and attentive. When we went for the lunch the majority of customers were of the older persuasion, which might explain the pasta - it was quite watery and bland. We all had to put a lot of chilli oil and flakes on our food. I was excited to try the focaccia but it seemed a bit stale.

However, I have heard good things about the pizza (have not tried it) and the wine was nice!!

The food was nice at the Mediterranean food company.
I attended a Christmas work do and we had the set menu.
The salami and prosciutto was really nice. The pizza and platter was yum. The risotto was done slightly under what I personally like, if not it's a really nice dish favour wise. This is also my first time trying a proper Risotto. And lastly, we can never get enough of dessert which was tiramisu.
