Very aggressive pricing nice clean store
I always shopped here because the freshness of their produce section is great, but I bought a whole big piece of short ribs ($70) for a family get together. I purchased them on Wednesday and put them in the fridge. I took them out on Friday, and the meat had turned this brownish grayish color that was very questionable. The smell that came out of the bag made me realize that they had gone bad.
I called the store to speak to the manager and ask for an exchange. The person who picked up the phone said they could help me, then ended up transferring me to the meat department. There they told me that they couldn’t help me, and to speak to the manager. That’s when I realized they were giving me the run around.
So I decided that I won’t get anything from the meat department any more because it’s not trustworthy.
I called the store to speak to the manager and ask for an exchange. The person who picked up the phone said they could help me, then ended up transferring me to the meat department. There they told me that they couldn’t help me, and to speak to the manager. That’s when I realized they were giving me the run around.
So I decided that I won’t get anything from the meat department any more because it’s not trustworthy.
Amazing, I know where everything is at. I love the points/ rewards you get for groceries I used mine twice gained $10 the first time then $50 after.
If this is the Food Bazaar by Flatlands Avenue excellent excellent store very huge it's one of the biggest food bazaars it has everything huge parking lot I love the fact that food bazaars in general but especially this one at Flatlands has a huge vegan section in the dairy aisle so if you're vegan you would love coming here they also have a nice vegan section in the Frozen aisle and they sell practically everything they sell toasters and pots and pans when you go in that aisle I believe it's maybe I'll 15 or 14 you would think you're walking into Walmart LOL it's a huge beautiful store very nice and the Food Bazaar white plastic bags they sell them single I believe it's 30 cents for one and I believe you can get five of those plastic bags for $1 but you can definitely get 130 cents other food bazaars you would have to buy all 10 of those plastic bags with the Food Bazaar logo on it well I believe it's $2 but that particular location at Flatlands Avenue you can buy one single Food Bazaar plastic bag and they are huge for only 30 cents nice store huge meat department as well
I had an extremely undesirable experience with the Deli Department at the store today. I am leaving 5 stars because your store manager and the young lady monitoring the front of the store resolved my concerns respectfully and I was able to complete my purchase with satisfaction 😀. Deli people and other customer service representatives for Food Bazaar, most of the the shoppers have been loyal shoppers to this location since its opening. YOU NEVER PUT YOUR PREFERENCES IN FRONT OF THE EXPRESSED DESIRES OF YOUR PATRONS! Especially since they are the ones providing business so you can have a job to come too. This is especially important if the request is a reasonable one. Thanks Jose (manager) for your professionalism and courtesy today. It was and is greatly appreciated.
The reason for a 2 star, is because some of the employees, in meat section were very rude and unprofessional, whenever you ask question they act like you weren’t there and I believe that’s very unprofessional.. one of the Spanish employees looks more like Mexican witch I could be wrong

Workers were very respectful and helpful. The cashier lady was very kind and helped with packed our groceries. Huge store and lots of varieties to choose from.
It's okay but I'd be careful about buying "fresh" meat there. Bought 2 different kinds of meat. One was great but the other was rotten and very smelly. Threw it away! Waste of money!
Great prices, however the most poorly trained staff of any supermarket I've seen. Ask for anything, and no one knows how to help you. No manners either, it's hard to ever hear a good morning back from anyone working, or a single sorry when they mess up. Prices in the meat department are really good too, however after many purchases I realized the expiration dates on them were almost always wrong. My proteins would always go bad prior to the listed expiration dates, even though my fridge is functioning perfectly. I don't enjoy getting lied to.
I am pretty upset. Not at the items sold although the meats & vegetables are expensive. My issue are the bags. When it became mandatory to purchase bags it was disgusting that we all had to pay. Reasons given were to help the environment and do away with plastic bags. How come this store along with other supermarket's are selling plastic bags? I'm super pissed because it's just another added expense to your shopping instead of saving the environment. Stores buy bags in bulk therefore it's cheaper for them to purchase. Why are you making a profit with selling bags... plastic no less.
Good selection of grocery from around the world. There is no deli though. And it’s super cold in the vegetable and meats sections, so come prepared. Convenient parking.
Absolutely GREAT! Sunday early morning shopping, no congestion, shelves nicely stocked, all the produce looks fresh and full, meats and poltry look really good and fresh cut. However, I know it's early( 7:30am) but the only thing that was not out on the ice just yet was the seafood...No Fish!... The shrimp was out and stocked, looked very fresh...
My thing is, I don't like going to a fish market or a section in a store that offers a fresh fish / mini market and has absolutely no fish out... Not at the time I was there at least. It must come out after 8 or 9 am....
They often have in abundance later in the day the times when I've been there, a pretty nice variety of fresh sea food, and I can't complain.
Other than that small hiccup of dissatisfaction, I never had any issues shopping at Food Bazaar.. I have noticed the cost of certain items I usually purchase have gone up significantly, but that's almost everywhere in the city...
Always look for a good deal. Watch your neighborhood circulars, and advertisements, and compare.... you may find you'll see better deals in other neighborhoods at other Food Bazaar locations. I don't know why this is when it's the same chain...

The pricing are too high. I saw on sale Oreo cookies marked at 6.79. Looked online at stop and shop. 4.50. customers are paying a hefty price for this chains expansion and upgrades. Will not be back for my main shopping. Only occasional necessities. Will drive a little further or order online
Enjoy visiting this location. Especially early in the morning when there are fewer people, it gets really crowded. They have amazing sales and when the holidays are coming up even more. Veggies, meat, and fish are fresh.
The customer service here has completely gone out the window. I've shopped here for over 20 years, if my mind doesn't fail me. Since they opened up. The cashiers use to be so friendly. They greeted you and asked you the simplest questions. Now, the cashiers don't greet you. They don't make eye contact. They don't ask if you need bags and they also do not pack your groceries when you ask for bags. They throw your stuff to the side so that you can pack them and when they're done scanning your items, they just stand there looking clueless. Instead of letting you know they're done and giving you the total, they just stand there without saying a word. It is when you're done packing that you become aware that they're done scanning. Again, not a word. This is not the first time witnessing this behavior. After years of shopping here, we decided it was time to part ways. Customer service is very important to us. The two stars is for the hispanic gentleman who took the time to help me in finding the items I needed. He was very polite. Oh! and what's with the baskets? There were two elderly women with roller walkers with seats who needed the baskets and were told they no longer have baskets. Did management think about the elderly and disabled individuals inability to push a shopping cart before removing the baskets? It's the little things that make a huge difference.
Do better for the community that keeps your businesses doors open. Train your cashiers on customer service etiquette.

Absolutely love this place. They're always in stock, got great prices, fresh meats and the $$$PRICES$$$ are unbeatable. They always got some sale going on. Plus you can order online, first delivery is free. You can also order from them through Uber Eats app. Surprisingly, the delivery and services fees when ordering through Uber Eats isn't expensive. It's really affordable and convenient.
I had ordered and paid for a cake from this location for my birthday party. I was giving all assurance that the Cake will ready for pick on the available time on the receipt. When I arrive for it to pick up my cake, the guy keep looking for it he said to me oh, we did not make ur cake. Go to the register and ask them for your money back, he did not even give me a option, knowing that I do not have a back up plan for that day of my event. I feel very disrespected from the worker and supervisor that was called to deal with the situation. The manager look to me and said I will give you your money back and she looked at the girl at the register, and and spoke in Spanish, of which I could not understand from the express from the expression and smirk on their faces. I felt further disrespected because I felt they were laughing at my predicament. and the girl at the register counted out dollars on and coins and give it back to me and said this is your money back. I was very much disrespected as it looked as though when they give me my money i was a beggar, and I am a frequent shopper at this location And I am very much disappointed.
Terrible sandwich situation. They put the lettuce in water so your sandwich will be soggy. Missing ingredients, didn't take the plasticity rind off the cappicolla and slice it too thick so it's tough and plastic strings are coming off in your mouth. Overpriced too at 13 bucks with tax. They also don't even know the ingredients in the subs on their own sign. How no balsamic for the salad and sandwich making section? A girl needs to translate to spanish sometimes that's fine i speak Spanish but don't put mayonnaise on an Italian sandwich. Maybe just try to get the hot roasted pork plate here. There's probably a lot more cultural affinity for making that.
Great selection. Expensive prices on a lot of things. The most annoying part is the lines. Self checkout and the express line is always closed in the afternoon. I’d love to be able to run in and not have to wait 20 mins+ on line just to purchase a few things. Please open more registers ASAP.
Packed, full of people and movement. Busy place however I'm giving it 4 stars because everyone that worked there was helpful. First time in here since I started working there...as Waldbaums!! I didn't know where anything was, so I asked employees. They were all very helpful. My hope is they treat everyone the same as I was treated especially the elderly and those that need help. Nice going Food Bazaar!
First time in this supermarket, they got a lot of food from different parts of the world. Fresh and lots of variety. The only thing I didn't like was the restroom, so dirty!
From the outside this Supermarket looks like an ordinary grocery store, but when I walked inside it felt like I was in a local Mega Store of a Supermarket, they had an aisle sectioned for West Indian Products (that matters to me since being a West Indian myself). The Store was large and spacious, aisle won't narrow, it had enough space of two lanes for shopping carts,. They also had a fish market inside, featuring some fishes that local fish markets don't have in stocks, like rainbow trout & red tilapia. They had some fruit beverages called Sorrel that I couldn't find in other Supermarkets. The Store was really grand impressive to me, even the shopping bag given was colossal in size!!
My favorite grocery store in all of New York City. Excellent produce, fish, and a surprising variety of dry goods from most regions of the world (Peru to Poland, Jamaica to Japan).
Have to give it 4 stars though because the shopping baskets keep disappearing. I never want to navigate the store with a full cart, it's too busy, so having the basket is essential.

Although this food bazaar has a huge variety they will try to charge you extra for items. I purchased a small container of rice. She took the container where I couldn't see the weight and came back saying it was $6.59. So, I asked why is it so much for rice? Than I asked how much per pound she hurried and went back and changed the price sticker. She placed the new sticker on top and gave me a paid sticker. There were other people behind us that had bigger trays and there's was $7.89 and $8 something. I have spoken to the manager previously about how they treat non spanish people at the deli in this location. Yes, some of the employees are racist. If you don't believe me. Take someone with you who's spanish and which how there super helpful towards them. Some there are truly nice and helpful. If they treated all of the customers with respect, I would love to give this supermarket 5 stars.
Rather cheap, plenty of choices but of course most of the goods are available in big packages. Not all of it, but most. Worth visiting once a week for some bigger shoppings. But if you after some small grocery, there are self check out counters too. Great meat choices and cheap too.
Becareful of the package meats & cold cuts package here. I have seen workers change the due date stickers on pre cut cold cuts. I also purchased smoked turkey drums that smelled extremely rancid. I will not be making meats purchases from here. You are putting people health at risk for money. Health department alerted.
This is another place I love going to. Literally you could find anything that you want in this place. This place is so big it's literally one block going and if you're from a different country and you miss the foods that you used to get from your country you will find it here and I'm talking about West Indian Indian different type of Latin food like Mexican Dominican down to Ecuadorian food and even has a fresh seafood Isle
They got all your every needs in food or nonfood items you need and at a real fine reasonable price. They even got their own fish market in there with any water fish you may want . Man , this place is so good you can spend all day in there and not get bored and it's fun too . You need to know places and things , come to me , I love helping people, I get a kick out of it . Go to FOOD BAZAAR and enjoy your day 😃
PRICE GOUGERS!!!! Everything in this place is over priced! The Organic milk is 2$ higher than a bodaga? The Simply juice sells for 3.69 the highest everywhere else. 2/5 at stop n shop, here its 5.49. Absolutely ridiculous to have a huge market in the middle of the hood but yet they charge higher prices than whole foods?! Stop pocketing excessive profits and pass down whatever deals you receive from the brands down to the customers. I just paid 3.69 for the same Simply fruit punch at a fine fare that is only 1/4 of the size of this Food Bazaar. NOT COOL . The picture with the Managers Special is hilarious! That is not a special Mr . Manager. Stop robbing the community!! This store gets case stack deals for these items to pass down deals to THEIR CUSTOMERS. So the more they buy, they get a bigger discount. This location chooses to pocket everything... sad and greedy. Not shopping here again, its just gotten worse.
Drum roll for one of the best healthier options for lunch or dinner. All that is missing is a great white or red wine to complete the dinner ambiance at home. Customers services could use some work but I'm really here for the foooooood😘.
This supermarket caters to many different backgrounds. The owner of this supermarket not only takes into consideration what products people in the community may want , but they also hire people who live in the community as well . I can always find quality products that are affordable at this supermarket.

She should cash out customers.. Using her judgement n common sense, for example if the supermarket is slow n she is not attending anyone, would be perfect example. Imagine the supervisor said it’s policy n did nothing to help the customer.. Me. I can’t blame her, I’m sure she had no training in customer service or supervision . Is that fair is to other cashiers.
Hoping management reads this n acknowledges all cashiers should be working.

Deli Department slicing machines are not cleaned prior to conducting business. I Complaint to Store supervisor, who answered by saying .. we pay them to clean.. Someone should check the Deli slicing machine every morning, prior to operating n conducting business. Shame on U.
