The place is good for skating and biking, but the city didn't do good maintenance.
1. The man's washroom was out of service for months. Seriously, months!
2. The people are using drugs while there are many kids playing inside of the park.

Beautiful and vibrant with an alluring mix of people and dogs enjoying life in a semi urban park. The skate park is very popular and I've heard great things about it from skaters. Plenty of options and space.

Having recently moved into the area, Banfield Park has become one of our favorite places to visit. Situated conveniently near the trestle, it's the perfect spot to take our dogs for a leisurely stroll.

During the weekdays, Banfield Park tends to be quieter, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, on weekends, it comes alive with more visitors, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

One of the park's standout features is its picturesque view of the Gorge Waterway. It's a scenic backdrop that enhances our walks and provides a sense of tranquility.

The park itself is well-maintained, with clean pathways and plenty of green space for dogs to roam and play. We appreciate the effort put into keeping it clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Banfield Park has quickly become an essential part of our daily routine, and we look forward to many more pleasant visits in the future.

Great place to train Soccer. The kids have a lot of fun! It is very well illuminated, so even in the winter will be good to play in the evening. There is no playground, just good for soccer, or other sports as it is a big field. There are a couple of portable restrooms there.

Best urban salt water swimming area in Victoria. Tested waters are ten times cleaner than local lakes and do not have toxic algae warnings so common in lakes. New swim dock installed in 2021 has greatly increased accessibility to all. As well, nearby Tree Island installed in 2020 has been a magnet for swimmers and paddlers alike.
This spot is also popular for cold water swimming and new years day polar bear swim.

Good playground. Wood chips. Fenced in with gates. Parent bench right by the main gate makes it easy to watch for bolters. Only complaint is that there is no shade at the playground.

Nice swimming area including a public dock and nice island-style dock, but I can never find parking. Better off biking if you’re able, there’s like 12 spots in the lot and then very minimal street parking (it’s all “residents only”).

Great bike park , 2 nice pump track , will be going again 😀
Love this hike. Great views from the summit though I recommend proper foot wear and poles for some of the loose rock you will encounter on the hike.
Класний дитячий майданчик, рекомендую 👍

Small but great set of equipment for the little one to run around. A note of caution: there was an adult workout class held there ( around 5p.m.) and they took over a bit. Not sure how often it happens but that was a bummer.

The place I met on my way to the Victoria West Community Center. A beautiful Gorge water way and a nice Selkirk Trestle bridge catches the eye.
A cute lil place inbetween city! Loved the shaded soft path for walking! Lots of native plants and wildflowers coming up in spring. I like how it is being restored to increase biodiversity. Will go often for my evening walks after shopping 🌳
Great 360 view. Nice place to see sunset

We love the skate park, pump track and playground here. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are often not in good condition and there are people camping along the edge of the park. Usually not an issue but a couple of times have made me not feel at ease with the kids around.

I really love this Park 😀 Water, walking trails, Beach.
Plenty of space for all activities, fresh air. Amazing!
Lately I've venturing off in the distance but I stayed in city limits.
This is a great Park. So many places to adventure to.
Cuthbert holmes park is an nteresting green space that i always drive by but never stopped unltil today, ii has a few trails, bridges, paths and trails to explore along the river, it's an estuary to migrating birds and animals, easy hiking trails and a few interesting sights and things to explore
Worth a visit
Short hike, but great views and a few different routes you could take to make it longer. Trail was pretty wet in parts, so recommend waterproof footwear. Usually takes under an hour.
Gorgeous view of the coast from residential neighborhood. The three view points visited and in walking distances from each other are: an closed astronomy building (weather station), pointy plaque commemorating shipping trade route, and a viewing plate form.
The Park seems to be a fav amongst locals. There are stones, rocks, and mud holes for some parts of the paths so wear good footwear.
Great park for everyone to enjoy! Easy walking trails, dog leash friendly, birdhouses, bat-houses, friendly people out and about. Cross the bridge and there's Meadow Park? I think that's the name. Lovely playground for the older children. The climbing equipment is rated 2.5. Yrs and up.
It's a nice uphill walk from home. The views across to Port Angeles can be really nice.
I find this park a total surprise (in a good way) with shaded woodland trails in an urban setting. I’ve never found it busy. The entrance behind the arena is a bit tricky to find, I’ve posted a picture. It is just a bit beyond the children day care facility. I didn’t notice if there was parking.
You can see the good broad view at this park but you may be disappointed if you think the highest point of the park is high in altitude.
Short hike, but a little steep. Nice view at the summit. Parking lot is a little small - but you can walk in from many different ways too.
This is a lovely park with beautiful trails where I could walk my dog off leash. Well marked trails give a nice variety of routes and destinations such as Tillicum Mall.

The bike track is amazing. However during the two hours I was there, I saw three major wipe outs. A four year old boy left bleeding with a mouth full of blood and my son with raw bloody knees.
Come with your first aid kit!

We stopped by for an early evening walk - the trails were being enjoyed by small groups of all ages then around a corner we spied an owl near a nest. What a beautiful sight!
Mt Stephen Park is one of our favourite parks ever. There a good playground and it is very fun.

Nice park, well marked, few people. Enjoy!
This park is a nice quiet forested area at the start of the colwuitz Creek trail. Great horned owls have nested here recently, and the network of paths is great for off-leash dog walking.
This was my second attempt at strolling through this area. I came a few weeks ago but the park was locked off with police tape due to an officer being attacked. The area is super quiet and seems like a nice place to relax. There is a beautiful view of the water and it has a floating dock the you can swim out too as well. Great place for walking or riding a bike as it leads out to the Selkirk Trestle. I highly recommend coming and exploring this location, I'm sure the incident was a one off as this is a beautiful family oriented environment with a playground not too far off for more enjoyment for the kids.

Good play structures for kids 1+ with some fence openings on the North side of the park to the road. Picnic tables, some shade, room to kick a soccer ball around on the field. Our kid loves the teeter-totter.
Great short steep but easy hike with exception views the top.

Sweet Jackson Park unimaginably named after the street it is on. Nice playgrounds for small children kiddie slides with benches for caregivers to be watchful. Sometimes dogs play here too. How nice! Please be sure to pick up your dogs droppings. 😉

A very tranquil neighborhood gem. The park is beside a daycare and a church making it a perfect place for all ages to enjoy throughout the year. It is also close by the Italian Bakery if guests want to pick up a quick picnic meal to share under the lush trees. A fine place to read books or relax too.

Nice little park, hidden away from traffic. Good for book reading or a picnic. A slide some holders to climb on swings and a small seesaw as well as bench.

Nice and quiet.
Clean, spacious and entertaining for the kids, worth the 1km walk we took to get here.
Great place near downtown for kids
Nice, quiet and very sandy Beach. One of the best in town

Quiet and away from traffic. This peaceful park is accessible at the end of quiet streets only so there's few interruptions us usually, save the occasional passer-through. Groups of kids, likely from a nearby school or daycare, seem to hang out here when the weather's nice. There's swings, a teeter-totter, benches, a garbage can, and a sign about the park. Grass grows longer than other parks, likely a limited priority for municipal workers. No one seems to know about Mt Stephen by name, making it an interesting spot to share with others.
Very small park with stellar panoramic view as well as 2 benches to sit and enjoy.
Lovely little park that us great for walks with your dog or friends. Trails are well maintained and clearly marked. Would love it if they could expand it a bit more and replant native trees/plants in the spots were trails were made by people. Although it borders the construction of the McKenzie overpass you can barely hear it until you get much closer.
Nice place to visit
Really beautiful vantage points. There are some steeper sections but overall it wasnt a difficult hike and took less than an hour from start to finish if you are going to the summit from the parking lot.
Only a few parking spots on a narrow road. Leashed dogs only.
One of the best views in Victoria, amazing for sunset. Much quieter than other viewpoints in the area.
