I LOVE this place, the best gyros I have ever had, I could eat them all day. The customer service is incredible, and the guys are super nice. Great food and great service. Would 100% recommend Avalon Pockets.

Wow! On our way to Jungle Adventures, we stopped here for some food and I could NOT have been more pleased with our selection. We each got a serving of the grape leaves, one veggie and one meat - both were excellent. We got two more servings of the veggie to go!! I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and I think it was the best I have ever had. I am full and SO satisfied with the flavor and quality of this meal. Very generous portions. Do not pass this place up if you are in the mood for Lebanese food! Didn't take more pictures because we gobbled it up so fast.

This place is a hidden gem! Today was our first time visiting, and the food and service were amazing! The portion sizes were huge, and everything was so flavorful. I had the loaded bowl with a gyro/chicken mix. The meat and sauce were delicious, and I took home over half of it because it was so large. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla, which she said was really good. The gryo sandwiches were very large and delicious. We also tried the hummus, which was so smooth and beautifully presented.

The man who took our order behind the counter and brought our food out was so kind, and he checked up on us multiple times to see if we needed anything.

This was honestly some of the best food I've had since moving to Orlando a year ago. If you haven't tried it yet, go eat there right now!
Wonderful place to enjoy Authentic Arabic Mediterranean meals cooked like your Mom!
The place is located in a calm eclectic community that feels like home.🥰

How have I never been to this place?! It is so good! Got an awesome gyro packed with meat and veggies. Probably one of the best gyros I’ve had in Orlando. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is absolutely delicious! We got the mixed gyro + souvlaki platter which was plenty of food for two people and then some. Very affordable and amazingly delicious. We will definitely be back! :)

In the last six months, I have placed two very large catering orders. The delivery service was on time, and all the platters were well-displayed. The food is always fresh, and the portions outlast the hungry staff. The personal service that I received from the owner, Jeff, always exceeded my expectations. He is in constant comminutions with updates. I will use them for all my client luncheons in the Orlando area.
Decent but not amazing Mediterranean food. The meat tends to be a little dry, but it's seasoned well. The platter is a good amount of food for lunch/dinner. The hummus is pretty good as well. Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable. Food was ready on time too.
Ate here with family during low traffic. The portions and pricing were as expected, around 15-20$ per person. It was an enjoyable experience overall.

Atmosphere (5/5): The area is very nice, the seating was clean and simple. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of windows inside to feel the atmosphere all around the street corner. There was some enjoyable contemporary music playing at a comfortable volume.

Service (4/5): The staff was very welcoming and polite, they always responded promptly and met our requests. I gave 4 stars because we had to ask for some things like spare plates to share the food.

Food:
Falafel (5/5): One of the best falafel I've had. It has a slightly unique taste compared to other falafel. It tastes like it is fresh and is a good balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Mediterranean salad (4/5): Simple and fresh. I would prefer less pickles and olives so that there's less of a sour taste.

Beef shawarma platter (2/5): The beef was well seasoned, but it was tough and chewy. This made it quite unenjoyable. We specifically asked the waiter if it was chewy before ordering, and he said it wasn't. I would seriously suggest using a different cut of beef or changing the cooking method. There was also more quantity of the sides and not much quantity of the meat, which was disappointing.

Mejana platter (5/5): The platter came with kofta kebab, grilled chicken, and gyro meat (along with your choice of sides). All the meats on the platter were delicious.

Sides and sauces (5/5): The hummus and babaganoush tasted simple and authentic. The fries were average. One of our favorites was the garlic sauce which paired so well with the meats and sides. We had to ask for more!

Mejana has great food and I am certain that it will continue to improve and become even better. Best wishes to the wonderful staff and owners.
The modest Mediterranean establishment offers a delightful culinary experience. The menu features an array of homemade dishes, each meticulously prepared with fresh ingredients and utmost care. From the delectable hummus and babaganoush to the flavorful tabouli and gyro, every dish bursts with an explosion of authentic Mediterranean flavors. The owner's warm and welcoming demeanor further enhances the dining experience. The spacious interior provides ample seating, while the outdoor seating area offers a pleasant al fresco option. This establishment undoubtedly surpasses the typical gyro spot, as the meat and sides exhibit superior flavor profiles. I eagerly anticipate future visits to explore additional menu items.
We love Mediterranean food and this restaurant had the best falafel we have ever tried. The food & flavors were ON POINT! So, so good. Highly recommend.

Food was ok...service was very slow, the staff was overwhelmed, they did not want to engage with customers in the store, the phone was constantly ringing. There were storage boxes piled up in the dining area. Chicken was dry. Soup and gyros were good.
The best Mediterranean food in Orlando! Rayan, you are the best! You always treat every customer as family! If you love Flatbread, ask for the Smoke Salmon! (special request, not on the menu) That one is a piece of heaven in your mouth 😋 You will not be disappointed! 🤗😍🥳❤️
First time coming to Avalon park and eating at this restaurant but I had an excellent experience! Came to celebrate a late Valentine’s Day dinner! I was greeted by the owner Ryan and he was super nice. I ordered the Greek salad and gyro platter and everything was delicious! Ryan also gave me a bottle of his recommended wine! The service and food here is excellent I definitely recommend this place if you are craving Mediterranean food!
Please never stop making this awesome shawarmas!! We stopped by because we were curious and ended up trying the best shawarmas I've had in Orlando! Definitely will come back!

Halaal and delicious. I like Lebanese food in general so I was delighted when my friend introduced me to this place. I finished everything in our order of lamb, chicken and beef gyro platter. The yellow rice is pure joy.

The service is great and the gentlemen were very great at explaining the dishes. I like their various options of drinks. The food is made fresh. Highly recommend!

Parking is usually around the back due to location, which maybe the only negative. Still, not a far walk at all.

The traditional gyro was great however I was expecting lettuce with it and it only had tomatoes and onions. I also had the roasted potatoes and those were excellent.
Great place and great customer service. The food was delicious as well as their side. Definitely recommend getting there entrees with the spicy potato.
I usually enjoy coming here as the food is quite delicious. However, on my last visit (12/6/23) I got two cannolis and ate one that was fine. The second one tasted very unusual; almost like a chemical taste. Upon further review, there was mold in the middle of the cannoli. Who knows how long it's been sitting there, and if the first cannoli was safe.

Great spot, especially sitting outside watching the sun go down over the lake. Service was excellent, food was very good. Spanakopita tasted reheated/from frozen but the flavor was good. Lamb and gyros were cooked well and delicious. Would recommend!

We ordered mixed shawarma platter, the food was delicious. Very good flavor, fresh and made with love. All the sauces were authentic and salad freshly made as well. Even the pita bread and rice was better than I have tried elsewhere. Well priced. Strongly recommend.

Went here for Magical Dining and it has become one of my favorite places. The food was amazing, as well as the service and the environment. It is a must!!
When I'm in the mood for Gyros I drop by Little Greek to take care of my cravings. Service is quick and meals are prepared on the spot. The gyro meat is not carved on the spot but still takes good. The dining area is very small, and it gets crowdy and laud during peak hours. A little overprices but is worth it.

Please note that I had a carry out experience not dine in. I ordered through Uber eats for carry out with no issues. My food was ready by the time I arrived. The atmosphere looked so fun, belly dancing had started and people were throwing napkins in the air and generally having a good time. The fries with my gyro were actually pretty good, especially for carry out. The falafel gyro was good but nothing special, I wish it had a little more sauce but it was $3 extra for more tzatziki. The hummus was OK. It was SUPER garlicky and I like garlic, it was also chunky and not smooth. It did come with a lot of pita. For those items I paid $30. The price is a bit steep for me, especially for a typical gyro and hummus. Nothing was phenomenal, just good, hence the 4 stars. A solid option if you’re stuck in the surrounding hotels like I am, but nothing to drive out of your way for, at least food wise.

This Greek restaurant is a neighborhood staple. Occupying a corner across from Lake Ivanhoe makes for excellent patio dining. The food here is traditional Greek so the typical fare such as lamb, moussaka, souvlakis, gyros, avgo lemono soup, etc….not to forget they so do carry Greek
Mythos beer.

First time coming here, close to hospital we were taking food to a friend. Wanted to do pick up but number on site was busy each time we tried.
Went there to order take out. The gyros were delicious, gyro salad very good too. The burger was ok but its a greek place so its to be expected.
Also gave a great amout of food too.
Would try again if in area.

Only cons: check out person seemed unhappy and couldn't get thru to make order ahead.
Solid restaurant for Greek food. Very modest prices under $10 for the most part. The food is full of flavor and is plentiful. Their fries are very good here with their seasoning. They got plenty of space indoors and outdoors with tv’s playing. All of the workers here do a fantastic job with everything.

Taverna Opa is great for all ages! They made amazing music with an in-house DJ. They also had belly dancers who danced on the table and made the dinner even more fun. A friend of mine had a celebration dinner here and it was so much fun!! I had the meat platter, I wouldn’t suggest this. I would recommend ordering just the grilled/roasted lamb with rice and green beans which was only the best part of the dish. . Everything was fresh and made to order. I can’t wait to come back soon.

Authentic Greek food with Greek background music and Greek decor. Had the saganaki which was over cooked and thin. But the owner made good by giving me another one on the house. The gyro was ok. Can do less with tomatoes and onions and put more meat on. Owners very good people. They from Crete Greece so all cretans are good😂😂. Service is good. Prices are fair. You decide.

Went there for a birthday celebration. Very happy atmosphere, great food and not overly priced. Parking was simple. Park at the SP Point Orlando garage on the 3rd floor and go straight to the restaurant across the way. Highly recommend for celebration or date night. Acoustics are good. Even with the music and dancing it wasn't overly noisy. The belly dancing starts at 7pm and it's a blast.
This was a pleasant, unexpected, super fun surprise! Went here with some work friends based on a recommendation from a driver. Wow! The atmosphere was outstanding along with the service and the food! The FOOD! Wow! So good!!! But the vibe was laid back but fun. It honestly felt like a club for all ages with food! Perfect for every age! Will definitely be back, even though I live out of state (Disney fan), maybe even tomorrow before I head home. Go! You won’t regret it and you’ll leave happy and full!!
If you want to have good food and don’t mind the noise and people having fun, this place rocks. They have dancers on tables, people dancing, running around. Food is amazing. Can have a good fun night here.
Food was great! Service was fast and professional. Atmosphere was nice. We sat outside and had lots of pretty plants / flowers and shade. We had a good time.

Totally enjoyed our lunch here. It was not crowded. We ordered saganaki, which was service hot, Flaming and with fresh pita bread. We also had mussels that were very tender, service in a garlic, tomato and ouzo base. Delicious! We shared an entree which was their slow roasted lamb with green beans and potatoes. One serving was enough for the 2 of us. The lamb was very tender, a great meal. Will definitely go back!!

The first thing that captures your attention is the unique decor and then the friendliness of our waitress. The food was scrumptious. Highly recommend the lamb ribs appetizer. If you're a lamb enthusiast, this will wow your taste buds. And, of course, do not skip dessert. Their baklava is as authentic as can be. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay for the belly dance show, but there's always next time
I came here one day after a hot morning of fishing. I decided to come here, because the fine readers of Orlando Weekly voted that this place is one of the best places to get Greek food in town. I had never been, so I took their word for it. And boy, were they right. I ordered way too much food.

I started out with some classic Falafel (Traditional deep-fried mixture of seasoned ground chickpeas and fava beans. Served with tzatziki sauce). One of my favorite forms of fritters of all time. The flavor and aroma within is so amazing, and getting that creamy tzatziki sauce all over it only help. Very crispy, not oily. Perfection.

I also got the Spinach Pie (Spanikopita) (Flaky phyllo dough stuffed with a mixture of spinach and feta cheese. Served with tzatziki sauce). Please, don't call it a spinach pie. Grow up and use the real name. Wow! This thing had a thousand crispy layers of phyllo, and it was gushing with spinach and feta. Very creamy and crispy, all in one. Also perfection.

For my main, I had another classic, the Gyro Pita (Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki). Side of French Fries. This is a standardized dish that I expect the same thing out of from every one I have. Soft, strong pita bread. Heaps of well seasoned gyro meat. Loads of fresh veggies to cut through all the heaviness. And gobs of that signature tzatziki. What's not to love?

I also got to try the Olympian Pita (Chicken and gyro meat combined in one pita. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce). Side of Potato Salad. Same thing, just with chicken. The chicken was nice and charred and added to the massive amounts of meat, and flavor in this dish. Also, I would skip the potato salad, if I were you. Just get more fries.

I finished off this amazing meal with the Baklava Cheesecake. It's exactly what it sounds like. A slice of cheesecake, with some baklava on top. Sounds simple, but it's one of the best dessert combinations since ice cream and apple pie. The phyllo breaks apart into a hundred little pieces and adds a crispy honey texture to every bite of that cheesecake.

Overall, even though this place is a chain, all the classics are there, and they are absolutely delicious. I will be back.

Delicious comfort food for the soul! This place took me back to my grandmother’s kitchen, beautiful ingredients, aromas and amazing taste! We loved everything and will definitely keep coming back for more, best Greek food around!
Went with my friend and we each got a gyro and they were great. Counter service restaurant, but the servers still do a great job of being attentive. Atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and the chicken gyro was amazing!
