This place is a great spot to grab lunch. It literally has every single kind of food you could imagine. From Italian beefs, gyros, burgers n hot dogs, to chicken wings, fried fish and sausages. Each meal has huge portions, comes with fries and a soda for basically 15$. Alittle less than that, but yea. The service and the inside is alittle meh, and not very impressive, but it gets the job done. Its also located in a great neighborhood and its by far the only place of its kind in a mile radius all around. So yea, food is solid, huge portions, but its not a 5 star place and dont expect this place to blow you away. Its good and its fine, but its not mind blowing.

The food was incredibly. Portioned well. After the (1) gyro I was stuffed. The Greek fries! incredible. I gave the other gyro to a coworker. I was able to try them on ubereats , used a promotion to receive $14 off and it was well worth it. I'd pay full price next time.
No star I ordered a gyros combo and the whole meal was horrible fries old gyros meat was hard and taste was unpleasant will not return

I've been visiting Zeus Restaurant for over ten years and it never disappoints. My favorite is the Mixed Chicken Plate with Rice—it's deliciously flavorful and the grilled chicken is always cooked to perfection!

Worst experience my coworkers order this past Saturday the fries was cold not fresh, the gyro mest not cooked very nasty, the fact we ordered from many times the food was always good. I called spoke to a lady i did not like how she down played my experience as well as my coworkers. Food is to expensive for the quality not to be good

We only saw the waiter when he took our order, and delivered our flaming cheese and then came back for ordering the dessert and the check. Other staff members delivered the rest of our food and dessert. We asked other servers for lemon, beverage refills, and to exchange a burnt dessert for one that wasn't burnt. Thank goodness for other staff members. Our waiter was MIA. The appetizers, meatballs and flaming cheese were very good. I recommend both the meatballs and flaming cheese. Unfortunately the spanakopita (spinach filo) was overcooked with hard crusty filo dough on top. The combination plate was ok. The lamb was overcooked, and the moussaka was overcooked. The baklava was also burnt on the bottom and we had to ask for a replacement. The place is decorated very well and very inviting. There is free valet service which is unheard of with easy in and out drop offs. I have been here before and the food was great. Tonight they didn't make the mark. I will come again as it was probably an off night.

A great restaurant in Greek town. The quality of seafood is excellent bad love the way they prepare seafood. Octopus is a must order item.
Good food , made when order.
Restaurant Review: Greek Islands in Chicago

I recently treated myself to dinner at Greek Islands in Chicago, seeking an authentic Greek dining experience, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. As I arrived, I was pleased to find complimentary valet service, which is a rare convenience in the bustling city of Chicago.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming hostess, setting the tone for a delightful evening. The staff's attentive service continued as even the gentleman offering water was friendly and accommodating. My waiter, Claudio, was knowledgeable about the menu and graciously assisted me in navigating the various options.

The atmosphere of Greek Islands was inviting, and I particularly enjoyed sitting next to the fireplace, which provided a cozy touch, especially as I tend to get cold easily. I decided to order the riblets, unaware of the generous portion size that awaited me. The dish came with sides of broccoli, rice, gravy, and potatoes. While the potatoes were not to my liking, the rice and gravy were decent, and the broccoli was cooked to perfection. The riblets, although flavorful, could have been more tender for my taste.

Despite this minor setback, my overall experience at Greek Islands was quite enjoyable. The quality and quantity of food received for the price paid exceeded my expectations. I left the restaurant satisfied and already contemplating my next visit to explore different menu offerings. If you appreciate Greek culture and cuisine, Greek Islands in Chicago is certainly worth a visit for a memorable dining experience.

Very big and cozy greek island market and restaurant vibe. Service is pretty good. Friendly staff. Amazing food. Vegetarian and Gluten-free free friendly menu options. Flaming saganaki cheese is a must to order. The Mediterranean octopus dish is the best octopus I've ever had. Lavraki is also pretty good. I was hesitant to as I'm not as experience deboning fish, but the servers are professional at deboning the fish for you. Home-made yogurt with walnut and honey is a pretty good healthy dessert. Vanilla bean ice cream is also good. Strongly recommend the Greek Island special for those with sweet tooth who also enjoy multiple textures (shreded filo dough, walnuts, lemon custard, creamy topping) Gender neutral family restroom available.

Excellent service all around. Our waiter was so attentive, friendly, and fast! To add, the other workers refilling water, and clearing empty plates off the tables were extremely efficient… you will definitely not experience bad service at this restaurant, even on nights that are very busy (we had to wait 20 minutes for a table).

Avgolemomo soup (lemon egg rice) was so flavorful, and the fried calamari was very fresh with just the right amount of breading… the salad was fresh, and the classic gyro plate with tzatziki sauce was plentiful in portion and also delicious. The pita bread was so soft and freshly made.

Will absolutely be back!
Best Greek Restaurant in Chicago!! Fantastic Greek food, awesome atmosphere, great service!! Kosta our server was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We also love Stephanos . If you go to Greektown in Chicago, you have to go to this restaurant!

Fabulous meal and date night here. Quick and easy service. The short wait was worth it. The steak was juicy and tender. The apps and desert were fast to add. Incredible, reasonably priced for the meal. Only ding was it’s quite loud, cash only, and FCFS on seating, but if you know all that going in, it’s amazing.

Amazing staff and unbelievable food. The salad melts in your mouth as if you’ve never eaten one in your life. The gyro is absolutely blissful. The baklava, a creation to be reckoned with. My brother and I had such an amazing experience, which can’t be stressed enough.
This is a very good restaurant. Visited twice in the last year and both times the food and service was excellent. Always a good sign when it’s busy at lunchtime midweek with business lunches. The first time there was only space at the bar. The Pork Ribs with the farro and sweet red peppers were delicious, highly recommended. Also the Apple Crostata with vanilla and cinnamon gelato was very good to finish. The service behind the bar excellent and friendly, I would definitely recommend visiting.
We were here for dinner with a group of colleagues. It's a really nice restaurant at Michigan Avenue, well suited for bigger groups. We shared starters first than each of us had his main course. Among the starters, the bone marrow was especially tasty.

Atmosphere here is charming. Service was ok not terrible and not great. Now let’s talk about the food, I really wanted to like this restaurant because the google reviews were so positive. But if you read enough reviews and have been let down so many times you take reviews with a grain of salt. The traditional Greek salad was not very traditional, it was mostly iceberg lettuce. Grilled octopus was tasty and cooked well. I ordered the tenderloin kebabs medium but got well done instead. The bell peppers are very sad looking. Grilled swordfish was cooked perfectly. The grilled shrimp kabobs were not fresh and tasted of ammonia. My wife and I both swallowed a bite of the shrimp before we realized it was bad. I hope we don’t get food poisoning from it.
Very good food and affordable.
Reservation is a must unless you want to take your chances at the bar seats.
The food quality is top grade for its price.
It's not immediately recognizable from the outside, it's inside what seems to be a residential/business building.
It is pretty loud inside.

The Athenian Room is a Lincoln Park landmark that has been in busy over 50 years. They serve up classic Greek dishes in a class Greek restaurant ambiance. We had the gyros dinner and vegetarian salad. Both were delicious and hit the spot. Important reminder—The Athenian Room is CASH ONLY!*

*There is an ATM next door in Glascott’s.
We had the best culinary experience on our 1st visit to The Purple Pig. We sat at the bar and ordered three dishes…the roasted beets with whipped goat cheese & pistachio butter; beef tartare with quail eggs & capers; and the BEST roasted bone marrow with herbs, capers & onions that I’ve ever eaten. Everything was outstanding.
We were so surprised when Chef Effy gave us a sample of his Spanish grilled octopus after we chatted on the way he prepares this dish. It was the most tender and flavorful octopus. Then he treated us to a chocolate panna cotta…rich chocolate with pecans, chocolate crumble and raspberry. So decadent and delish. I couldn’t believe the kindness and generosity of this chef.
We walked away with satisfied taste buds, full tummies and connections with three really nice men that work at this eatery.

The food came out super fast like within 7 min of ordering it. The food was plentiful and tasty (just a little salty but I like low salt food in general so for others it might be just fine). The rice was a little mushy and I like less mush but some like it mushy but it was good. For $15 plus tax ($17 ish) you get a platter of chicken and gyro meat plus salad with excellent vinaigrette sauce w very fresh salad and a choice of rice or French fries. Parking on the street w meters. Quick bite and dine in no waiter service so in and out easy. Great staff!

Delicious gyro! In honor of my first time in Greektown, this was a great introduction to the neighborhood. The gyro was so flavorful and the tomato, tzatziki, and onions really tied it together. The price for the combo was extremely affordable especially because it came with fries and a drink AND the pita was stuffed with gyro. The only reason my review is a 4/5 is because the inside of the restaurant is lack luster and the bathroom was a disaster BUT I didn’t mind much because the gyro overshadowed all of it. I would recommend trying a gyro at Mr Greek Gyros for a casual visit to Greektown.

Very busy at lunch but quick service and very good food. Plenty of food specials let you get a good meal for a reasonable price. Would go back.
Delicious gyro and fries, highly recommended fornthis part, what I don't recommend is the fountain drink. It tasted very moldy and I ended up throwing itnawaybafter 2 sips. Do go for thw gyros though!
The Athenian Room was recommended by a friend of mine who grew up in Lincoln Park. They set very high expectations, but the AT still exceeded them all. Got the spanakopita to start and then the feta charburger dinner. Straight. Fire. The crispy Greek fries swimming in the salad dressing is genius. Five easy stars.

This place has gotten both worse and more expensive over the years. Also, the owner must have some kind of deal with the city where he gets to store his own personal stuff in public space for free, because his car is in the bike lane every time I pass by and there’s never a ticket on it.

There are better options in easy walking distance.
Most disgusted rotten unclean gyros.stay away from the burgers they don't look or test like real burger.
This place must be investigating by the health authorities 😝🤮

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Was in Chicago for a little and came here based on a friend’s recommendation. The wait (without a reservation) was shorter than expected. The service was OUTSTANDING! We had 2 people with allergies and the server was so knowledgeable about every ingredient in every dish. Her recommendations were perfect. We had the fig dip, bread, gnocchi and a couple other dishes. All 10/10. Will be returning next time I’m in town for sure!

Love this place for replenishment and a slice of life. Generous well-made gyros. I like eating there for the authentic city atmosphere -- a little slice of Uptown in East Lakeview 😀 -- seriously the service is great and the food, delicious. Worth a trip.
For real this is the best restaurant in Chicago.
I really love going there every time I’m in the city.
They have a good variety of food and in drinks
Everything is delicious
I recommend doing a reservation before going there because it can get crowded.
I had an issue the last time I was there; I made a reservation, got a confirmation by text but when I arrived it wasn’t there. I waited around 2 hours for them to let us in, we were a party of 7, and they told us it was already time for them to close. After talking to the manager and explaining the situation they let us in.

It’s a lot of food but the quality seems to be dropping and I’m slowly getting priced out. This was a good spot to grab a bite on my bicycle commute but that’s also getting less convenient when the owner decided to use the bike lane that takes riders right in front his restaurant as his personal garage (which is amusing considering that street is pretty congested which I would assume bottlenecks car customers).

They can capitalize so heavily on people who’d rather walk or roll but what do I know? I just ride past this place (or rather, around the owner’s car) every other day.

We ordered food for delivery. First off, they got the order wrong. 2 chicken pitas, 1 no mayo. Both had a pound of mayo on it and one didn't have lettuce or tomatoes either. The chicken itself tasted good but the rest was just sloppy and gross. I definitely won't order food for delivery here again. Maybe it's not as sloppy while you dine in? And you can always fix a wrong order in person. I'm not sure. But I def don't recommend delivery from here or the chicken pitas which total cost $40.
CROOKED BUSINESS PRACTICES. I ordered and paid on-line. For whatever reason, they closed early that evening, so when I went to pick up my food they were closed.

Owners refused to refund my money, telling me to call the bank. I asked them to just make the order and showed them a printout of the transaction. They restated "call the bank and they will refund you."

I explained to them that this is not how restaurants work in America, but they do not understand good business practices.
Made our food even when we walked in late. We had the Spicy Gyro and Philly Cheesesteak. Both are delicious. Lovely people. Great service.

I walk by in the evenings and the shop is usually pretty dead but I've been curious how their food is. They have tvs for the menu above the counter, but they were turned off tonight so I had to choose from their point of sales machine. No pictures, and a lot to dig through so I went for a simple sandwich. It was a bit unnerving that they had no music playing in the restaurant either.

It seemed like the cook behind the counter was a bit inexperienced, and the man who took my order was maybe coaching him?

My gyro was ok. The pita was a bit on the small side, and the meat was a little extra toasty which is to be expected if it's a dead evening. They really loaded it up with meat, almost enough for two sandwiches, and the onions and tomatoes were fresh looking, but they forgot the tzatziki sauce! A genuine tragedy, as a good sauce can make or break a gyro. Other reviews mention the sauce so I assume it was just an honest mistake by a person still in training.

I used to come here after partying, so most times, I was feeding my liquor. I remembered the food being good. This time when I went, I was sober. The food was just alright. Will I go back, maybe. But it's definitely not as good as I remember. You can find a better gyro in the city for those prices. 2 gyro platters was $28.05. It came with fries and a small fountain drink.

Bad customer service!!! Ordered my food there waited 15 minutes watched my fires sit and get cold. called in to ask why they were cold guy said of course it's cold you ordered it 20mins ago. Came back to get fresh fires and then he said everything was made fresh. Got some fresh fires but at that point my gyro was cold cause I had to come back to get fresh fires so yeah food was good but customer service was bad .
Very tasty food and best fries in the town , and best service and good staff.

The gyro has a lot of meat, but is very sloppy and they forgot the tomatoes. No ice for canned soft drinks.
First time at Athena and we had a wonderful dining experience. They offer a mouthwatering array of Greek dishes that leave taste buds craving for more. Everything is fresh and flavorful. It's a five-star gem that consistently delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Get your reservation today, it's a must visit.

We had the : Saganaki, Shrimp Athena, Vegetarian Pasta, Souvlaki, and Chocolate Mousse Cake. Each dish was a 10/20. Order the Saganaki, it is delicious and fun to watch it be lit on fire.

The service and ambience was perfect. I would definitely visit again.
Used come here more often when it was on the other side. Some of my favorite dishes were no longer there (razor clam), but I got to try new items, and they were just as good, entire meal, and the wine choice was superb. Squid ink pasta was gorgeous. The sauce was well emulsified, and the perfect amount was with each bite. Pork blade steak was something new, it was sweet and juicy. I didn't really care for the red sauce, barely touched it. I'm so glad I got to eat here again in a while during my short return to Chicago!
I enjoyed visiting Athena. Great vegetarian options. I had the spanakopita for dinner, and it was delicious. Friendly & attentive wait staff. My only complaint is that the atmosphere was really loud. Not great for conversations. But other than that, I'd definitely go back.

The food was fine, prices were reasonable and service was quick. The Greek fries to my surprise didn't have feta cheese on it due to which I had to put feta crumbles in order to bring flavor. It didn't taste the same as the one I had at Lincoln Park Greek Fest.

The Gyros were good but I think they should have served it on pita already topped with tomatoes, onions, tzatziki sauce rather than serving it separate.

A disadvantage is that it is cash only and doesn't accept debit/credit card. So be prepared to have plenty of cash although they do have an ATM in the bar next door.
If you enjoy Greek cuisine, you must try this fantastic restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff is incredible, and the drinks are great. It's one of my favorites in Greek town, and the menu is excellent!

Great location. Free valet parking. Beautiful interior. Great outdoor/indoor patio. The food was so fresh and flavorful. Authentic Greek dining experience. Ordered the Saganaki, but they couldn’t light it on fire due to the open patio. The service was below average. I was dinning for a birthday celebration and no desserts were even offered. The hostess/server staff seemed eager to leave for the night. Otherwise I would dine again.
I had an incredible dining experience at Athena Greek Restaurant in Chicago! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the tone for a memorable evening. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, guiding me through a culinary journey of authentic Greek flavors.
The food was nothing short of exquisite. Each dish was a masterpiece of taste and presentation, showcasing the freshest ingredients and traditional recipes. The flaming Saganaki was a personal favorite, bursting with layers of flavor. The vegetarian Mousakas were seasoned to perfection. And let's not forget the baklava for dessert – it was heavenly!

Whether you're a Greek cuisine aficionado or new to these flavors, Athena Greek Restaurant in Chicago is a must-visit. It's a five-star gem that consistently delivers an unforgettable dining experience. I can't wait to return and savor their delectable dishes again!

We had called in the morning to make a reservation for dinner, which was a good call because they get busy. Once we put our order in, the drinks and food came promptly. Each dish came out delicious with perfect timing, and had a perfect balance of flavor. Honestly, the “worst” thing there was the dessert we got (raspberry cheesecake) which had a lot of overwhelming flavors, but all the main appetizers/dishes we ordered: no complaints. We had a table of 5, 4 of us ordered drinks, and we had 10 dishes + 1 dessert to be full. Service was wonderful and I would definitely come back.

First time here. Took my mom to meet my daughter & my son in law for lunch - they recommended this restaurant. As soon as we walked in the smells were amazing! Tried the flaming cheese (saganaki I believe) I'm hooked!! The waitress brought us bread, butter & plate full of olives (yum) to nibble on. 3 of us ordered the trio platter, my daughter ordered the chicken gyros platter - all was perfect! For dessert we each had a slice of baklava....I wanted to stretch out & nap right there - would have been the perfect ending to a fun, delicious lunch. We will go again definitely!!! Thank you Central Gyros for an amazing lunch!
Watched them turn on the open sign and decided to go in. Clean store, amazing food! Watching them shave the meat off the veal was a first time experience and incredibly fun to watch.
Slowest Greek restaurant I have ever been to. Took 45 minutes for a grilled cheese and a gyro. They make all their meals one at a time
Food was really good. We got the chicago style pitas and spicy feta fries.

I have dined in and eaten take out from Central since 1979, my fortune to have been introduced to this place by my step father's extended Greek family. Excellent all around, even after covid and an ownership change, due continuity a former chef taking it over and maintaining recipes and understanding of the location and business.
There are a lot of Greek restaurants along this stretch of Halsted. In fact, this area is known as Greektown. There are many old school Greek restaurants here. One of those old school restaurants is Athena Greek Restaurant. This is, of course, not to be confused with The Athenian Room in Lincoln Park (also on Halstead).

I have been here a few times, and once recently. One, the food is very good. They have a very traditional menu. So if you looking for fusion or ultra modern this restaurant would not be for you. I ordered spanakopita, pork chops, spanakopita and the lamb loin chops. I enjoyed everything, but I particularly enjoyed the spanakopita and the lamb loin chops. The dough for the spanakopita was crispy and the filling was delicious. The lamb loin chops were tasty and tender. They also lit the saganaki, which is a must for me. Second, the atmosphere is amazing. I’ve only gone in the summer, and that the best time to go. They have a great patio and they open up a wall of the restaurant to create a great indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Third, the service was very good. The staff and my waiter were very friendly. Also, my food came out hot and fast.

In sum, this is a must visit Greek restaurant in Greektown.

I had the gyro Philly. The sandwich was pretty good, but damn it was greasy. Double wrapped in wax paper and the bag was a greasy mess before I could get to my car outside. Long story short. I'll eat there again.
Westside Gyros in Chicago offers a taste of Mediterranean delight right in the heart of the city. The moment you step in, the inviting aroma of seasoned meat and freshly baked bread whets your appetite. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying meal.

Their menu boasts an array of mouthwatering sandwich options, but the gyro steals the show. Packed with tender, flavorful meat, fresh vegetables, and topped with their signature tzatziki sauce, it's a burst of authentic flavors in every bite.

During my visit, our waitress, Maria, provided exceptional service. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel like valued guests, and she was more than happy to help us navigate the menu and suggest the best choices.

Westside Gyros' delectable sandwiches and Maria's attentive service create a winning combination that guarantees a delightful dining experience in Chicago.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Athena Greek Restaurant in the heart of Chicago, and I must say it was a delightful experience that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance, which instantly transported me to the beautiful landscapes of Greece.

The restaurant's interior décor featured a tasteful combination of rustic charm and contemporary elegance, creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and courteous gestures, making me feel right at home.

The menu at Athena is an impressive culinary journey through the flavors of Greece, offering an array of traditional and modern dishes. I started my meal with their Saganaki appetizer, and it was a cheesy goodness that set the perfect tone for what was to come. The selection of entrees was extensive, and I opted for the Combo Plate. The meal was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.

What truly impressed me about Athena was the attention to detail in the presentation of each dish. The plating was exquisite, demonstrating the chef's commitment to both taste and aesthetics. It felt like an artful experience that elevated the dining affair beyond just a meal.

While the majority of my visit to Athena was wonderful, I would say that there is room for improvement. However, considering the quality of the food, service, and ambiance, it was undoubtedly a worthwhile treat for a special occasion or a night out with loved ones.

In conclusion, Athena Greek Restaurant offers a delightful Greek culinary experience in the heart of Chicago. With its inviting ambiance, authentic flavors, and exceptional service, it's a great choice for those seeking a taste of Greece right in the Windy City. I will undoubtedly be returning to relish in their delicious dishes and warm hospitality again soon!

When we get Greek food in the city we typically go to another establishment, it was closed and let me tell you, Athena was on point! The whipped feta appetizer was amazing, braised lamb and chicken riganati were perfect! Well Done!
So good! Thick tzatziki, flavorful meat! Spicy Chicago gyro has that perfect feel of quick quality food you expect from your favorite food cart, but with seating! The fries are wonderful too!

I Stopped in late night to get a gyro to go. Ended up getting the platter and eating it all of the way to Michigan. These guys had a great attitude. Superfriendly staff. They are very efficient at their jobs and get you going down the road. Parking can be a little difficult. Definitely worth the hassle though.. The food was very very good. I will plan to come back when I am in the Chicago area. Thank you again Gentlemen. Well done.
Consistently enjoy the gyros here, big portions, order cheese on the side so the fries don't get soggy, pita is tender and toothsome, I appreciate the little baklava sampler. Typically enough meat to make two smaller wraps, which is convenient if you like to share or spread out your meals. The menu isn't gigantic because they prefer to do a handful of things very well. Will try the burger next time. 😊

Mr.Greek is the spot to visit for that Gyro fix .I enjoy the original Gyro or the Chicken Gyro both are delicious. Nice portion Mr. Gyro has the best Gyro sauce always fresh and hits different than the others. Burgers pizza puffs are also good. They have a great menu.
Great place for a variety of food. Over 30 meals that are reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Would definitely return.

Great spot for gyros! We ordered the chicken gyro combo, fish and chips, and pizza puff (we were feeling a little adventurous). Chicken was a bit salty but the gyros were lovely! The fried fish was SO CRISPY and the fries were alright (a little hard to chew but I still enjoy). We had so much food leftover because of the huge portion sizes which was added plus.
Had a great experience here! Food was delicious and you could tell that they made each thing fresh. Wonderful service, very nice people and they gave us extra fries and free drinks! 10/10 would recommend

this is one of Chicago’s oldest Greek restaurants, and its been around since 1972. To this day, its still cash only, but they have an atm inside. With its rustic interior and extremely affordable prices, I was skeptical if the food was going to be good. The food comes out fast, and the servers are very attentive which is always a plus. The chicken was beautifully cooked, not the best chicken ever, but still solid.

I have not been to this place in about 20 years and everything was still great as I remembered. I ordered the Pasticcio Dinner with a side of Lemon rice soup. Everything was really good, the service was also good. Don't have much to say about this restaurant, so if you like Greek food give it a try.

This place use to give you 3 times the meat on a gyro. Very discouraging to see your gyro sandwich seems like a bean burrito from Taco Bell. Definitely not going back I don’t want to get insulted twice. If you can eat a gyro and there is no mess it’s not a gyro.
If we were regulars, this is a place where everyone would know your name! It's family owned and the owner and son are there greeting guests! There is an adjoining bar where you can order drinks. You cannot go wrong with their charred burgers and chicken! The Greek fries are so mouthwatering and lemony! It's a great place for families as well. They even gave us free baklava for dessert! Whenever we are in the area, we make sure to stop in and bring our friends as well!

Average food at a really expensive price. Athena was serving food (at a very expensive price, $25 for a "platter" in a 8" Styrofoam plate) using cheap wrapping paper under the food that fell apart immediately. The bottom of the plate was a mix of food and paper. Terrible! Food festivals in Chicago are getting very expensive and the experience is not that amazing!

Loved it! Beautiful place with lots of good food and good vibes.
We went here at the end of a night out for late night food after a big night out. The place was busy, but service was prompt. Food was decent. There was a bathroom that was clean. They gave fries with every meal we got so we had a ton of fries.

The gyro was seasoned very well, and there was plenty of meat. I got two and I probably should’ve gotten only one. After, I was pleasantly STUFFED! Plus, got burgers for my kids and they all said it was really good! Skewers was good too! When I come back to the Chi, I will definitely visit them again!
Westside Gyros is worth the trip on Western. Proudly support a family owned business. Large portions, fast and friendly service and clean space. Ordered a Gyros platter and Italian beef sandwich. The platter can feed two, definitely ask for an extra pita for an additional sandwich from the large portion of meat. Gyro platter comes with Tsatziki, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and pickles. Italian beef came dipped and is a two handed tasty sandwich. Prices include fries and a can of soda so don't be sticker shocked as they require cash only for payment.

Plentiful, fresh and delicious. I am happy I stopped in, exactly in the mood for gyro. I skipped breakfast, and the mixed plate filled me up just right, with the tastes making me smile the whole time.

This is a fabulous Greek Casual place, and I will stop here for lunch again soon.

The food was okay. It was kinda busy, but didn't feel crowded to dine-in. I could see this being a good spot to grab a solo lunch on the go. I particularly enjoyed the ample window seats - great for people watching 👀👍

In my opinion it needed a sauce on the chicken pita. The chicken pita came with french fries both meals got a small side salad. The shrimp and fries were good. It came with a small side salad with a vinegar dressing, fried shrimp with cocktail sauce, french fries, and a light garlic toast.

I went to Zeus's Restaurant in Greektown. OMGOSH, amazing food and customer service. No wonder why Chicago's finest eat there. Please go there for all Greek deliciousness 🥰🥳🥰🥳🥰
I was disappointed. I have never had pork gyros. They were dry and chewy. The tomato was more green than red. At least the onions were tasty. The cheese fries were limp. I did enjoy the free baklava that came with my first order. To top it off they forgot the salad dressing. In response to the owner, the fries were soft 4 minutes after I picked the order up.

Beautiful patio at the Athena Restaurant. In good weather it's one of the best places to eat in Chicago. Great food, too!
Greektown is a huge let down compared to just a few years ago. There are only 4 sit down restaurants left and 1 diner. Add in a couple taco joints and Irish pubs and a Greek candles/ religious store. They do have a Hellenic museaum. And annual art display.
