One of the best of old growth forest walks I have been on. Encountered 2 other hikers... magical place that smells like forest heaven.
In Rockport State Park, man, it's like stepping into another time. You've got these ancient trees, you know, some as old as 1660, standing like wise old sages telling tales of the past. The trails? They're a perfect blend of nature's art - old growth, overturned roots, streams - all playing their part in this grand symphony. It's magical, really. Whether the sun's out or it's a rainy day, the park's got a vibe that's both uplifting and deep, kind of like a Gregorian chant echoing through the forest. It's a place where you can lose yourself and find peace, all in the same breath. Rockport, man, it's not just a walk in the woods, it's a journey through time and soul. 🌲💕🧘🌈
Lovely location near an old quarry with panoramic ocean views. Plenty of walking tables, stone benches, and picnic tables. Visitor center in season with restrooms.

Great place for a nice short walk amongst beautiful trees. Visited on a rainy day and had the trails to myself.
Wonderful experience. Easy hiking with multiple trails. Great view of the quarry and the ocean. Open access to walking on the rocks at the water's edge. Hidden gem for sure.
Parking lot paid with kiosk. But no entry fee to the park.

No longer a campground, but still lots of hiking and walking trails. Restrooms are very nice, well kept. Plenty of picnic tables and grassy areas for family get togethers.
Great spot for a small hike. It's very easy hike to get to the ocean point. Been here before at night for Stargazing! It's an amazing night if you like to hear the waves and just relax. There were few people fishing.
A wonderful state park that has been maintained very beautifully. Parking for out of state vehicle is 20$.
There is small trail that you can walk around and enjoy all the scenic points and it makes it worth while. The ocean view was majestic . The cool breeze was such a breather.
Definitely worth visiting if you are here.
This park is incredibly beautiful, a veiw from every direction. This park is the perfect length for walking, takes you from fields of flowers to a stunning lake and then to the ocean. I believe the lighthouse has beverages, which had already closed when we were there, so check for hours or bring your own water because it can be quite warm in the summer. Also, there is a fee for parking, cheaper for residents, and there are porta-potties there which are across from the park. And if you want to bring your furry friend, it is also dog friendly. We had no problem maneuvering strollers around the park except for the path to the beach, it is steeper and very sandy.
I hope you all get a chance to go and enjoy the veiw.
honestly this is one of those places that you just HAVE to visit if you are in the area. if you live here, you already know about it. it's a really nice place to take a walk, to hang out with friends, to meditate, to breathe, to listen. it's definitely not the place for tomfoolery or littering, so be respectful and careful on the massive pile of rocks that constitute the viewpoint.
Verdant park on the edge of the Baker National Forest - plenty of parking, cookout and picnic options but no camping due to risks from falling trees. The park extends across the busy/fast SR-20 so be careful when walking down to the crossing, especially with children.

We did a 'bunny' walk (flat and short) but enjoyed the ferns, old growth trees, extensive moss, and some beautiful views.
I've been coming to Halibut Point State Park for about 7 years now. Over the past couple years, a lot of work has been completed to clean up the trails and the location in general. In the summer, there are lots of wildflowers coloring the scene, and the view down by the water is just amazing. If you don't mind a walk back in the dark... Sunset down by the water, or up in the cliffs is an absolute must.
Beautiful looking state park. The rocks on the edge of the ocean makes it more enchanting. You can sit on the rocks and experience waves splashing at you whole day! I loved my time spending here as the weather was bit cloudy. Family and kids friendly place. Don’t forget to bring your own food if you decide to stay up for a little longer time. There is also a small walking trail.
Beautiful location! Rocky coastline, quarry pool, trails and more. Absolutely go for the view and a nice walk. Parking is limited, and the portable toilet situation is horrific. They are FULL- as in haven’t been emptied in a terrifying amount of time.

The hiking trails here look magical. I’m sure that statement is weather dependent, but we visited on a sunny day and had the park pretty much to ourselves. As soon as we stepped on the hiking trail, the sun hitting the dense vegetation through the trees made it seem like we were almost on the set of a movie or something. I’d never seen anything else like it before. The other thing of note is that the bathroom is clean, had plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, and there was soap in the dispenser. I would highly recommend this park to people of all ages— the trails aren’t very demanding, but they are incredibly pleasant.
It's a beautiful park, very nice place to spend a weekend over here. You will different views through the trail. And seashore view is really very beautiful. Lot of place to move around on the rocks and the waves. Parking is limited.
This place was beautiful. Trees were huge and covered with moss. Family friendly hike. 4 kids ages 3-8 were able to do this. Definitely check this out if you want to see an old growth forest.
Ok, it's a really nice area, great trails (we hiked the 3.0 mile Evergreen Trail), few people, lovely scenery, a place to picnic near the parking lot. But the signage is absurd. I've noticed the same thing in many Washington State Parks.....yes, there are signs and there are the same signs along the trail, but a simple sign with an arrow would be a great improvement. There were times when, coming to a place where more than one trail option is possible, and even after we studied the map it was somewhat confusing. Again, a simple sign with an arrow pointing "Evergreen --->" would have been very clear.

Took the Evergreen Trail saw lots of old growth. Trees that were 4 to 600 year old, so cool. The hike was moderate and had an elevation rise of about 500 feet.
Very beautiful here-incredible old growth forest. Several day use picnic tables, nice trails, and clean restrooms- no state park fee/Discovery Pass for those without passes IF you just stop for the restrooms (15 minute limit); otherwise they are needed. Would love to camp here; have visited during day trips.
Editing this in Jan. 2023 to add that I have since found out that the campground at Rockport State Park is closed, and has been for quite sometime (years). I believe I had heard the difficult decision was made due to the fragile ecosystem back there. It is a small but very cool park that is worth your while nonetheless! Also, be sure to clearly display your Discovery Pass if you are staying longer than 15 minutes because they do make rounds and check for them pretty regularly here😁
