A great place to enjoy peace and quietness
Nice place just need to be carful with some people that start looking skechy after around 5pm so be careful.
Ir doesnt look Daily life because of pandemia but this is a México city spot place, not for common tourists.
Sun drenched hidden plaza in the historic downtown of Mexico city, where the heart of Huitzilopochtli's brother fell after being torn off his chest and thrown into the distance after a fierce battle. Off the heart a nopal grew and that's where the ancient aztecs found an eagle devouring a snake, the foretold symbol of where to settle their mighty city. Fun fact, the eagle sculpture is placed so high up because the first one was stolen. The plaza itself has a few stores and a apparently good restaurant, but to me the highlight are the benches with painted tiles that depict the evolution of the national shield, said eagle eating a snake. If you want to visit try to get there early on Sunday, like I did and so I only saw a few guys smoking weed. If you go in weekdays it WILL be way crowded and probably unsafe with regards to mugging, the area is not heavily visited by tourists.
Went solo first thing in the morning. Wouldn't recommend it in the afternoon or evening. Can be a bit rough.
Not too many stores or things to do but it has a lot of curious things.
It a small plaza in Merced hood .not much to see some stores but nothing out of the ordenery
