This is my absolute favorite park for camping. Always great views and a great time. People treat each other with kindness and respect. They also have an airfield where a local group likes to bring their RC planes to fly around. It's always fun walking over and watching them fly. The park is well cared for and always clean. The park staff do an excellent job of putting on additional activities like star gazing and other fun events.
This is one of my favorite parks in a Texas. Stay in Blue Bird loop site 93, camped on the water, great fishing spot. Site had fire ring and covered table on a cement slab. Campground has two nice walking trails, firewood for sale at the ranger office. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, plus showers were hot. Very friendly staff and camp hosts, will stay here again.
We just drove through the park, just to scout out potential future camp sites. The park was kept clean and the sites were of good size. The views were beautiful.

Had a wonderful time at Lake Whitney State Park. Camped for 2 nights, went hiking and hung out by the lake. The lake was beautiful and the camp grounds very pleasant and clean. Will definitely visit again!
First time here. Really nice park and lake. We had a screened in shelter, which was very nice and clean. Fairly secluded, lots of space around it, and easy access via a trail to the lake. One downside during our visit is that the closest latrine/shower was closed for repairs.

Lake Whitney is a very nice park. It’s very big and spread out. Good lake access for swimming wish the lake was a little cooler but that’s not some thing that can be controlled. It’s just hot RV sites are nice with full hook ups most have decent shade, but not all.
This place is underrated and really good for camping, kayaking and other activities. There are several camping spots by the lake. We went on a sudden plan in summer. It was full moon & the weather was cool. FIY, Network is poor over there and nearby Walmart is 30 minutes drive. So be prepared before going. Have a nice trip!
What a great time we had! Our timing was perfect. Not many other campers, the weather was perfect for hiking and exploring. Lake Whitney is a beautiful lake! The state parks representatives were joyful and polite, helping us to have the best time we could have. We plan to go again every year.
I visited this park during spring and the wildflowers where in full bloom. So beautiful.
The rules they have for dogs are pretty good. The kids loved it and a few people had a great time fishing.

Great destination & awesome park rangers, they were really helpful with pointing out local attractions. Really clean facilities & other guests were friendly & respectful. I definitely plan on returning in the future.

Lake whitney is not crowded and a good safe place for the family. Came up here during COVID-19 and felt safe.
