Top National parks in La Fortuna, Costa Rica

The road from the west is a very rough road that we didn't dare take our car up, so we ended up walking a ways and never made it to the Lookout. If you attempt this route, you'll need a high up car. My pictures don't show how deep the ruts were.

Easy walk. Saw some monkeys farther up the trail in the trees. Access road to the trailhead is a bumpy dirt road with river rock, easy to drive in a small car as long as you go slow. 4x4 not needed. Great views from the lake shore, they are improving the park daily with viewing platforms and walkways

Seems like a bit of a hidden gem. An easy paved walk out to a great peninsula. We had expected to drive up to it but it was a trek! Ended up coming back in the dark but we were the only ones on the trail which was nice.

Both the lake and the vulcan views are worth the trip. Inside the peninsula sector of Parque Nacional Vulcán Arenal.

This lake was so fricken beautiful, we hiked to see it right after hiking to the Los coladas volcan so it was over 7miles of walking we did today and it was all worth it, the views were so stunning, we got to see a lot of wild monkeys and animal species that we didn’t even know their names. I like that there were fresh water pipes along the path so we could wash our hands or freshen up if it got too hot, and there were two bathrooms as well

Der Aussichtsturm ist nicht zugänglich, da er wie andere Aussichtsplattformen auch, nicht zuende gebaut ist. Für den hohen Eintrittspreis schon lächerlich

Amazing view of the volcano and the lake. Highly recommend it’s beautiful.

Very nice trail. Good place for an easy hike, we saw birds and monkeys and the view on the lake is amazing.

Ran to this place and had it all to myself in the morning together with a load of birds, animals and reptiles.
