A must do trek in India :) don’t forget to go till the end. Most of the paid group treks takes you only to half. I’d say don’t take the paid ones, do it yourself ☺️🥾💚
The Valley of Flowers was like a magical garden in the mountains, full of beautiful flowers and adventure.
First, I went on a fun hike through meadows and streams. The air was so fresh, and I saw so many pretty things along the way.
When I got to the valley, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like a rainbow of flowers everywhere. Red, blue, purple, you name it! It felt like I was in a fairy tale.
I also saw cool birds and butterflies flying around. It was like a party of nature.
As I walked around, I felt super calm and happy. The valley made me appreciate how amazing our world is.
When I left, I felt so lucky to have seen such a special place. If you love nature, you have to visit the Valley of Flowers. It's like a dream come true.

A magical places located high up in the mountains at an estimated elevation of 14000 fts. The silence at these places is magical and you get away from the cacophony of the cities. Valley of flowers is famous for the blooming of flowers which happen around August and transforms into a mystical places with flowers all around.
Valley of flowers is around 5 kms of trek from Ghangaria. Ghangaria can be reached from Gobind Ghat by trekking for around 10-11 kms. You can also avail the services of horses. There are many hotels and restaurants available at Ghangaria, so accommodation and flooding would not be a issue. Entry fees is around ₹200. I visited in October but the best season to visit is August and September.

Being a mountain lover, I decided to take up the challenge of this beautiful trek. It is basically a 4-Day monsoon trek (Mid June - Mid Sept) where you stay at Ghangaria for 3 nights. Out of the 4 days, you have to trek for 2 days to go to and fro to Ghangaria from Govindghat which is ~9.5 km each side.
In the remaining 2 days , you visit the Valley of Flowers 1 day (~9 km to and fro) and Hemkund Sahib on the 2nd (~12 km to and fro). The initial hour of the trek is a normal route through the forest and that's where you start seeing glimpses of what's in store in the Valley - numerous varieties of flowers that you've never seen before. There is a small river crossing after which you will start the actual climb towards the Valley. It takes about 3 - 3.5 hours to reach the valley, but you would have already seen a lot of colourful varieties by then. Make yourself comfortable on one of the rocks and enjoy the mesmerizing views of the far stretched flowers and distant snow covered mountains. I was able to click 50+ species of flowers which was incredible. You'll immediately forget your fatigue and get rejuvenated by this spectacle. This was an experience to savor for lifetime.

Visited in Oct'23. Entrance fee is 800 for foreigners. It's worth of money. There is also a poster on fake and actual view of valley of flowers displayed at Gangharia. It gives some insight on actual view during full blossom.

Location - You have to stop at govind ghat and take a taxi for some 5km, trek starts from there till gangharia, from gangharia you can trek to both valley of flowers and hemkund sahib each with different route

Valley of Flowers National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The beauty of this site is breathtaking.The difficulty level of the trek to Valley of flowers is moderate. After reaching the valley the view will reduce your tiredness and gives you a feeling of soulpeace. It's a very clean, beautiful and pollution free place. Place don't spoil the nature and enjoy the real happiness ❤️
An amazing place for moderate level trekking. Full of wide variety of flora with picturesque mountains. One can enjoy Both a solo or group travel. Best time to vist will be from end of July to August.
PS- carry raincoat or something always. Also don't pluck any flowers, some of them are endangered species.

The place is heavenly and surprisingly gorgeous than one can imagine. The trek is moderate with an initial 1.5 km being easily walkable followed by 2 km of steep hike on a rocky terrain and last half km to 1 being straight walk again as descent to the plains. Once you enter from the beautifully crafted Forest Post entrance paying INR 150 per person with 3-4 boards of painted information including a map, list of species with broad areas, the trail and large large cutout of flower names with pictures the scenery starts getting marvelous. The entrance timings allowed are from 7 AM to 12 noon only. With kids and women this ideally becomes even more stringent as one has to return back by 5 or maximum 6 PM before it starts getting dark and cold.
The initial trail of around 1.5 Kms is easy , leafy and gorgeous till Dwari bridge. First glacier is crossed right after the entrance with moderate inclination building up to Dwari on Pushpawati river. The scene from Dwari is picturesque beyond imagination when first glimpse of valley can be seen. The gushing sound and roaring water of Pushpawati at Dwari is a timeless memory.
It is interesting to observe a variety of honey bees, nectar bees along with small flowers of yellow, pink, white flat rose and red even in early June with at least 10-15 species evident even till Dwari.
After the bridge real trek starts and this steep climb of 2 Kms raises the height from 3000 mts at the entrance or base of Ghangria to 3400 mts above sea level. The way paved is rocky and needs to tracked carefully with moderate efforts. The views of course start getting clear of the green valley of 87.5 sq km amidst the steep climb. What is also interesting is when looking towards East one can see the trek to Hemkund specially the last 2 Kms of same as lines on snow mountain from this part of Valley.
After the climb comes another glacier from where little decent starts. This relatively easier trek continues to Bhamandhaur where there is a wooden bridge with aluminium roof sheet on a gushing stream named Khunt Khaul River originating from the Himalayan mountain above with paradise flow. Here one finds a milestone mentioning welcome to VoF NP and from here the trail is simpler with curves and flowers all around. We would have easily got another 10 species as colour riot after the Bhamandhaur cave or resting point.
We went to the glacier after this point to at least a km or more and found Brahm Kamal as well in early June.
This trek is gateway to Heaven and had elevated the respect for Himalayas, Dev Bhoomi Uttrakhand and our Incredible India even more. We need to extremely responsible to take care of this UNESCO World Heritage national park and one of its kind in the world.
