Little place, but calm 😌
Cool tribute to past speakers and a place of peace.
The park has a flame and a history of dignitaries being in the place. There is also some greenery and flowers in the area. There is some stadium style seating to reflect and relax. The space is sort of hidden between Nathan Philips Square and Osgoode Hall. The park area is mobility accessible.
Not maintained. It's become a rat infestation, and they are almost as the big as the pigeons.
Very nice place. Producing organic vegetables.
Great community garden it's a family affair kids and adults can plan to gardens of their choice clean and quiet and peaceful it's a great church of place of meditation enjoy the gardens
Toronto Peace Garden was dedicated to Hiroshima survivors. Peace Garden was conceived in response to the Art Eggleton administration's 1983 declaration of Toronto as a "nuclear-free zone". The Peace Garden was completed the following year, with its Flame of Peace lit by Pope John Paul II in September 1984, and an official opening attended by Queen Elizabeth II a few weeks after. After more then 30 years this garden with memorial flame was relocated from one side of Nathan Philip Square to the other and got new modern look.
It is winter. However I like seeing the gardens in the spring and summer, it is a good use of space and allows people to get out and garden in the community.
I have a garden plot here, and these photos are from inside the garden shed. Picture taken yesterday. Still early, but the cedar hedge is very healthy. Come, see and enjoy in a month, when things will be blooming. Cheers, James Sherk.
Lovely garden for People can grow veggies n fruit. My daughter likes to play there
Lots of green space to run pets or kids can run
Beautifully tended gardens. Super impressive
A lovely little green space, marred only by the number of people who treat it as their own personal off-leash dog park. I got chased down by a huge dog this morning -- fortunately it backed down before actually attacking me. If Animal Control would do a few ticketing blitzes then maybe the situation will improve.
