Mostly pleasant staff but one disappointing encounter today with who I presume to be the owner, a dour and not very friendly man who decided to follow me around the shop as though my wearing a hoodie makes me a shoplifter (at these prices, you're robbing us! 😄). Despite being a regular customer these past few months, I felt decidedly unwelcome so might just focus on shopping elsewhere instead.

I've been so happy since Madina opened. This very tidy shop has products from around the world, but principally from Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon it seems. They have a brilliant selection of fresh olives, their own excellent and inexpensive bakery, fresh fruit and veg, an excellent butcher (including rarer meats for Aberdeen like goat), and one of the best selections of Levantine-style sweets in the city. Their selection of carbonated drinks features beverages from Iraq, Turkey, and elsewhere. Everyone who works there is very friendly and welcoming.

Cons: Take advantage of vulnerable and elderly customers by short changing them so please check your change every time. Sadly allows all dogs in, not a problem with guide dogs but people carrying dogs into shop could potentially kill someone due to dogs spraying on the foods, owner been told ample times yet does nothing, if buying food please wash it before hand, failed food inspection by ACC due to mould on food.
