This playground near Golden Gate Park is fantastic for older kids! There are tons of fun features like climbing structures and slides that will keep them entertained for hours. It's a great spot for active play, and there’s plenty of space for running around.

However, there aren’t as many options for younger babies (3-18 months), which can make it a bit tricky if you’re bringing little ones. That said, they can still enjoy the atmosphere and get some joy by walking around the playground, watching the other kids, and being part of the fun.

Overall, it’s a great spot for families with older children, and the setting in Golden Gate Park makes it even better for a full day out!

I recently had a family photo session client suggest Tunnel Tops and the Outpost Playground for their session location. I was a bit wary of the playground vibes, but Outpost blew me away with the driftwood feel and the incredibly thoughtful design and aesthetic. As my baby daughter gets a little older you can bet we'll be frequenting this place.

Small little park with a bench at the top and a fast slide to the bottom. Great use of space and the hills. Had lunch at the top and slide down to the car.

A dank spot that slaps harder than a soda on a hot summer day! Visited with my 3 sons aged 1.5 to 6 yrs. And they had a blast climbing on the strictures and playing with water in the sand.

Definitely Wirth a visit; you won't be dissapointed!
Very fun outdoor playground for kids ages 2 and up. Lots of chances to explore different things. Everything was clean and many benches available.
Wish they could add swings/slides.

Wonderful place for kids and parents too with a beautiful view of the golden gate, lots of sunshine!

A very good place for kids to explore and be creative in the outdoors. Lots of repurposed woods for kids to climb and play there are some water plays too . You can easily spend at least 3-4 hours .

We and many others really love this playground it’s very safe, and clean and it’s seems like if you do go you would probably run into someone that you know it’s a wonderful neighborhood playground.and what is nice I’ve never seen a problem with the kids they all get along and play together. I’m really thankful we have this playground on 10th. And Fulton

The playground is very well maintained. All the play structures are designed uniquely and create challenges and learning experience from science to arts without discriminating the daunting for kids. The outdoor leraning areas run by Presidio Trust staffs makes this playground standout. The restroom is well maintained. The paid parking spot is readily available next to the playground where is located between walkable distance to the walt disney museum and the crissy beach. Enjoy the maginificant view of Golden Gate Bridge. Shoutout to the Presidio Trust. It is a beautiful San Francisco.

This, according to Wikipedia, after the Summer of Love, a mock funeral entitled "The Death of the Hippie" ceremony was staged on October 6, 1967" here at the Buena Vista Park playground. The locals/hippies didn't like all the attention, themselves be used, mischaracterized nor as a source for profit, etc. To me, that signaled the end of a time period, and the end of hippies as they came to be known. Yep, no more hippies since the day! Although there are similarities with the Rainbow Gathering (Tribe) local, regional, national and international. FYI, see www. welcomehome. org

On weekends, it's crowded, but on a weekday, it's empty, or theres a couple of people, but it's nice to just sit down and relax under the big trees. I bring some snacks while i play with my dog. Todays weather is so gorgeous, and the flowers are fully bloomed. This area is right next to a street, and sometimes it gets busy, so be careful with your kids or pets.

Best Playground I've ever seen.

It is a hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood that offers a diverse range of equipment and activities for children. From swings and slides to climbing structures and sandboxes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park also features plenty of open space for running and playing, as well as picnic tables and benches for parents. It's committed to safety and cleanliness, with friendly staff always willing to help. Outpost Playground is a perfect spot to take a break from city life and a favorite among locals and tourists alike.

newly renovated park. It has many different play structures for young kids. On weekends, this can be a bit crowed. There is a restroom close by. This park has a spectacular view to Golden Gate Bridge. Walking distance to Crissy Field. Also Sports Basement is close by.

Nice playground with climbing options, jungle gym, swings, slide, balancing, etc. But our one year old found most parts difficult and did not engage. Would not necessarily recommend for younger toddlers.

This playground is very outdated and honestly not that fun for kids. Not convenient for small crawlers since it’s covered in sand. The structure needs an update urgently which is sad cause the location is great! I go there often with different kids I nanny for in the area and it’s almost always a flop. They only want to play there and stay for more than 30 mins if there are more kids which it’s not always the case. Also, lots of people bring their dogs which is clearly marked as not allowed. I don’t want to be liable if the child I’m in charge of gets bitten!
Park is great, playground can and should be better.
I appreciate the tables which are part of playground. Also place is fenced. A bit tricky to come with a stroller, mainly stairs around, but there is a way. Just go along the west side of the park.
Nice park very clean. Nice playgrounds and there dog park is open and separate from the kids area.

An unusual little house porched at the top on a cut down tree. You can find this across from the playground. Very interesting to see haha, very random to me. There is a public restroom near by as well. Good area for the kids the playground is down hill from the street parking.

Very accessible by car with a public restroom. This is our fourth time here and the playground usually runs on the emptier side (but the occasional soccer game). Nice views, clean and plentyful structures (mostly for 2y+ old) and a short uphill to Stove lake. Would frequent it!

My kid loves this playground very much. It is big. It is blue indeed. It is surrounded by trees therefore there is a no bright sun and it is never too hot. There is a lot of sand, a green lawn, several benches, swings and a huge blue structure for climbing. You can see squirrels around quite often. And there is a tunnel. A bus stop is very close.

These slides are probably meant just for kids but who said adults don’t enjoy them?
Every time I’ve been here its empty and just for ourselves! cardboards can be found at the top or bottom of the slides. You must use one if you want to move at all
The area is nice and clean
Perfectly fine playground unsure why it doesnt show up in the mps search or has so little reviews. It is actually on the other side of the road.

Ideal for 1-3y olds, with nice extra sesting for adults and views to the north. Close to Buena Vista for a follow up stroll - if you up for that hill

We were here after sunset so photos dont give it the full credit. Will return!
Beautiful sunrise..

Beautiful scenery with a nice playground for the kids to play on
Decent playground in a good location in GGP but needs to be updated. Good amount of shade but needs more benches and tables. Good variation of monkey bars for kids about 5 yes old and up. Could use some more swings and some better landscaping.
I just can't help myself.. sometimes I need to stop and run across the swivel bridge and zoom down the kitty slide.. everyone should do it at least once a week
It's a nice park clean lots of play structures for the kids they had a nice time we were here visiting from Oregon and the children had lots of fun really friendly people here at the park but San Francisco is just really really cold but that has nothing to do with the park

Great little hidden gem of a playground. Not empty, but not overly crowded like some of the other playgrounds. All the equipment also looks pretty updated.

Could've been a better experience. The place is tucked between the busy side and relaxing side of the city. I came from the relaxing side, but still expected a response to "Hi" from the few dog walkers who passed by.
People in Excelsiors, Forrest Hills, Sunset, and Twin Peaks are more friendly.

Nice hidden spot with a double slide! A great path to/from the top for Bernal Heights using the stairs in between houses

My little one had a lot of fun. Even though it had rained there previous night and the slides were a little sticky.

Nice playground tucked away that's pretty good for most kids 2+. Lots of platforms and slides for everyone to enjoy across different age ranges.

It's gotten very popular in the past year or two, and is now a lot more crowded than it used to be. During the pandemic this makes social distancing a little more difficult, since it's not that big a playground (significantly smaller than Koret or Mountain Lake playgrounds, which are each less than a mile away). But definitely a nice neighborhood spot.

This is a lovely little meadow! It stays sheltered from the wind and sunny on most days, and you get a lovely view of the top of Sutro Tower. It’s accessible and there’s plenty of space, and it backs right up to some trees that provide shade most times of the day.

Great for a picnic!

Good proximity to academy of science. Good mix for different ages of children.

Squirrels are aggressive, will steal food from right in front of you. Not a fan of many of the parents there. Selfish and brain dead clowns with mean kids. Thoughtless clowns.

A really nice playground for babies, toddlers and children of all ages to enjoy their play time!!! There are slides, swings, and things for kids to climb!!! It is relatively large that can be used by many kids!!! Nice environment for parents or care-givers to relax!!! Lastly, there is a clean restroom nearby!!!! Highly recommend it (Take a stop here in the golden gate park)!!!
Mostly for the younger children there are a few things for older children to play on too. Stopped in after years, with my 5 year old he enjoyed playing peak-a-boo with a baby and trying out a few things while we waited for the next N Judah( about 20 minutes).

Super cute play ground, set up like an obstacle course for all ages. Lots of trees for shade, squirrels also play on the yard. Swings, slides, monkey bars, bridges, etc. Love it, even connects into golden gate park with a bike path.
If you have a dog, or want to watch other people's dogs, this is the place to go. There is a nice cafe across the street, and this park has a stop on the N-Judah Muni line. We saw a guy once who introduced us to his very friendly bird. Okay, it was not a cockatoo, but I don't remember what he called it. But I remember the bird had its own FaceBook page!

So cool. Fun for kids and grown-ups.
Great park for dogs. There's a water fountain and a playground for kids nearby. If you feel like a picnic it also offers a no-dogs lawn. Lovely place.
This is our favorite playground! We live in the neighborhood and come here every week multiple times. The smaller-kid playground is wonderful, perfect for kiddos from crawlers to early elementary age. It's gated and very safe, I've never had a problem with filth or homeless. I did have someone try to steal our toys once, and occasionally people bring a dog in when they aren't supposed to, but otherwise a great neighborhood park. The upper area is awesome for bigger kids, and they have a large basketball course. Bring your toddler, you won't be disappointed!

Fun slide. It's not that long, but there are two side by side so you can race a friend. There's also cardboard in a bucket at the top so you can make sure you go fast. With the cardboard you get up a lot of speed!

Also nice views out towards twin peaks, particularly around sunset.
