I loved everything about this restaurant. Went for my birthday dinner with my family. The food was excellent, the drinks were excellent, the vibes and atmosphere were amazing. Our waitress was very nice and patient. Every worker was kind and helpful. The mariachi singer was amazing as well. You can request any song from him, he sang me happy birthday. No wait time to sit. We went on a Saturday at 8:30pm. I ordered the ceviche special of shrimp and octopus for $20. Also 3 tacos of my choice for $11. We all ordered a margarita. They were all so good, Tamarindo, mango, pomegranate, and cucumber. Will definitely be back ! We were all so full and stuffed of the food, so delicious.
I like ordering Mexican food from here! Never gone in person to this location but I usually order from ubereats or Grubhub from here. I decided to try their birria tacos with no cheese and unfortunately they weren’t that good and my tortillas were soggy and fell apart quickly. Next time I will stick with the chicken or steak quesadillas with their yummy yellow rice and black beans! My boyfriend really likes their steak tostadas except for the second one being smushed, still tasted good.
Let me start off by saying the food was good I can’t complain about the authentic Mexican food. However the customer service was awful. The waitress did not attend my family service she’s was constantly ignoring us. It came to the point at the end of our dinner we had to go to the counter to pay for our dinner because she didn’t bring us the bill until she seen us at the counter.
Very nice and pretty place to eat with your family. love this mexican restaurant.

the owner is a solid person and man of his word. even with my poor communication, he went out of his way to rectify a miscommunication several days after the fact.
He recommended a steak chimichanga and delivered it himself. It was delish, flawlessly crispy and the steak cooked perfection. Couldn’t even take a picture cause i ate it so fast. Shout out to him, his business and food is worth supporting. 👌🏿

There was some miscommunication with the staff, probably due to a language barrier. The owner since spoke to me directly and was very kind + respectful. Offered his personal recommendations including sending out a comped meal.
Mexican truck, so the atmosphere is a Bronx block lol. On google, it shows a vast menu with lots of options and pictures but in reality the truck only has tacos.
Anyways that would be all fine except the birria tacos were tough. i had to gnaw through my tacos and drench em in the consomé which had chewy pieces of uneatable meat inside. (i don’t even think it was birria, just undercooked chicken pieces)
all in all, not worth it for $16

Real Mexican food truthful prices. Salads are fresh and all the hot foods breakfast are delicious. I highly recommend.
Great treatment, had happy hour drinks. Nice and strong.
Even if I have visited a couple of Estrellita Poblana locations already, this one looked the best

- The SERVICE was not really great... we were a party of 8 coworkers visiting for a birthday celebration... and even if we enjoyed the atmosphere in there and talking with each other, the waiting time to receive the drinks, the food at different times, a drink or a cup or plates if requested.. was unreasonable... we requested the check several times for about an hour and it just simply never came our way 🫠 one coworker literally had to go to the cashier and ask for the bill because it got to the point where the group was already getting upset waiting for so long 😂
Anyways, other than that! I wouldnt really mind going back but hopefully service is better 👍🏻

Convinient location but they need to work on the customer service. You come in.. no one says good morning or greets you even when you go to sit down on the table. No waitress just ignores you and the guy at the register who I assume is the manager is always rude.

Been coming here for about 8 years. Met Miriam from our first visit. Always very attentive and all of the other staff members. Everyone looks happy working here. Their guacamole, Lamb Chops and mango mojito are delicious.
They deliver, the cheese burger and fries 🍟 are sooo delicious 😋 and they make sure you're totally full the burger 🍔 is very big and lots and lots of French fries 🍟 I can never eat it all I always have leftovers!! The 🍟 are always freshly cut and cooked.
Five stars all around. Family-owned longstanding business. Food and atmosphere are always great. Live music is enjoyable as well. 100% recommend.
My family and I would like to thank the owners and staff of Montezuma Restaurant for their warm welcome and hospitality offered to me and my family. The service was friendly and quick, making you feel right at home. The main thing that sets this restaurant apart from the others is the live music from the great singer Eddie Carr. His voice brought the place to life and that made it a even more enjoyable night for my family and I.
They food never fail any time of day!! But I like the night shift guy big man. He makes your order with love 💚 Been living in this neighborhood for the past 3 years. Tried Mexican takeout but this truck right here never fails! Taste the best to me !!! I don’t eat meat I usually order a vegetable burrito 🌯 I can get that 7 times a week breakfast, lunch and dinner 🤤😋🍽️
Very yummy food and service is good as wel. You can throw a small birthday party here. You can have nice dinner with family or yourself and have a nice little drink. Me and my kid we love all their food specially chimichanga and nachos
Second time here and the food is delicious!! Servers are friendly. The food took a bit long but overall I had a good time with friends and family. Great options for virgin drinks.
I get the birria tacos here religiously and i have yet to be disappointed!! Best ive ever had in nyc!!! The lines and wait time can be quite long, but the food always makes up for the wait. Flavourful, great portions (they can be a lil stingy w the consumé depending on the night tbh) and consistent quality. My cheat meal will always be these tacos🥰
I went there on a Wednesday with my family, the Atmosphere is amazing, music is great and it was kinda empty when we was there. They had a Happy Hour that had food and drink, they said only drinks are on the happy hour and not the food, BUT it's advertised all over the place. I had the food and it was great but it was false advertisement about Happy Hour and why we went in the first place to save a few dollars and we spent a lot of money there. I would go back but no time soon.
Their food is not consistent. I have ordered Gorditas before. Today. I ordered 2 chicken gorditas and they basically sent me an American taco minus tomato in a gordita. I have always had gorditas with black beans and avocado at Diamanté Poblano where I usually order from, they have their gorditas with black beans and 3 slices of avocado. I should have ordered from them but my boyfriend wanted an item on their menu. I looked online for the Gorditas recipe and it does include beans. I guess Diamanté Poblano goes that extra mile for their customers. Family cafe does the minimum for their customers. It was such an unappealing meal. I called and no remedy was offered despite my friendliness and dissatisfaction. I will not order from Family Cafe again.

Food is very good. When ever I'm around and hungry this is my togo spot they have both Mexican and American menus. Service is excellent, just be mindful it does get busy so their might be a wait time overall I reccomend this place to anyone who's around.
I ordered four chicken tamales and a chicken taco. Both had no taste or flavor. The tamales had hardly no seasoning and had too much hot sauce, which I didn't ask for. I will not be ordering here again.

It is one of the best restaurants for Mexican and American food. Tacos are always hot and flavorful. They also serve you all the hot sauces you need. Along with the staple cucumbers and radishes, which i always enjoy, they are nice and cold and serve as a palette cleanser to get you ready for those delicious Tacos. Very well run family buisness. I travel from Manhattan just to eat here. Great place, great service, and great food.
Food is good but their customer service is trash. I usually get from here so I know they take card. My co-worker went to pick up our order and she made her take out money from the ATM and when I called she said they do take card -_- Horrible attitude like if she does not want to work. Very stingy with the sauce and the prices are HIGHER in person than the menu online.
The tacos would be way better if the cashier/server lady had a better attitude. Worst customer service I experienced from a food truck in a while. Chicken tacos were ok nothing to brag about, al pastor here was trash. And she tried to over charge me then caught her mistake. Smh
I have had enchiladas from this spot and I have also had the Pina coladas which were amazing. I would not return to this spot only because the last time I went for take out the hostess was preparing strawberry daiquiris for a group of women at the bar and I witnessed her lick some of the mixture off of her fingers. 😳
My husband and I used to LOVE this place. We ordered from here frequently for like 5 years until one of their delivery guys tried to attack my husband with a knife. When we called them, the owner was never around and the staff pretended not to know who the attacker was. The police was called and the owner didn't want to take responsibility for his employee and he also pretended not to know who the employee was. This was a great place and I was surprised to experience this. I guess things have changed for the worse.
The food is tasty but customer service is lacking. Be careful what you get because I ordered what they described as a lamb birria stew on the menu with a rice. I got a burrito with beef birria in it, the order didn't mention it is a burrito or they replaced lamb with beef and when I called and ask what is going on he said it is my fault I should have known it's made with beef, everywhere makes it like that.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! We walk in and the lady and man behind the bar look at us like we’re aliens . They stay silent until we ask the questions??? We say good morning ! NO REPLY ! No costumer service , nor professionalism what’s so ever !!! Not only did she take long to come to our outside table but the first thing she says is what do you want to order !! Didn’t bring any chips and salsa , leaves comes back 15 minutes later !!! And food ... I ordered a steak picadita (not a picadita and the steak all fat !!! I order a seafood soup as well and not worth all this nonsense!!! I tried calling the owner or manager and of course no PROFFESSIONALISM AT ALL!!!!
Bad service. The quantity of food was unsatisfying. The waitress flor never came to check if we we’re okay. And there was only ONE other table. Must be because she was busy flirting with the guys. The only thing I would say I enjoyed was the nachos.
The food and drinks consistency is on point! Food is great and plenty. The drinks are well-balanced and effective 🍹😜. Two 👍👍 for the bartenders. Very welcoming environment even though the place is more on the cozy side. The restaurant in the evening is a bit dim. It gives somewhat of a nice ambiance. Its especially nice when they have live band/performances on Friday nights (small stage though). The waiters are pleasant and always make sure you have what you need.
This place is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the Bronx. I have been to other places including some in New Rochelle and Yonkers in this place by far has the best steak, chicken, and Mexican sausage tacos. Not to mention their steak nachos and enchiladas.
I also saw some amazing sea food plates but I’m not a big fan if it ain’t fired fish or shrimps. They might want to improve in their bar area in terms of mixing drinks. But over all the taste is amazing.

The food isn’t good. Taste like old oil. And barely has any taste. My torta had a very thin slice of chicken. I got the milanesa. The servers are too busy flirting with guest at the bar. Horrible service.
It can be hard to find good vegetarian in Soundview, but El Molcajete has great choices for everyone. As soon as they brought the salsa (fresh and watery, not like Pace Chunky from a jar) I knew this was going to be good. I got the vegetable tacos and queso asada tacos and both were fresh and delicious with real vegetables like broccoli, carrots, string beans, and I think some cactus. Really tasty. My brother got something that looked like a round sandwich with beef tongue in it and reported that it was also excellent and a bit spicy (in a good way). We will definitely be going back!
Amazing food. ANYTHING with their guacamole is good. Keep the tissues in handy, because food is piled/stuff with mouthwatering toppings of whatever you order; you can't go wrong with that.
