Came in 5 min til opening and rudly said i couldnt make an order until after 11 am. That was fine of course except they didnt take my order until 10 after and of course had 2 other orders already ready to be picked up...the burrito was 13 dollars 3 dollars extra charge because I wanted lettuce ... This place is a joke I love tacos is 10x better and the staff is very respectable unlike this establishment

Everything was amazing! Party of two, we were sat immediately. We waited MAYBE 10 minutes for our food after we ordered, probably less. My jumbo marg was strong, the food was flavorful and tasty, and the service was impressive. Thanks for spending my 25th birthday with me! Will be back soon!

Also, only $55 AFTER a $12 tip, with one jumbo marg, a beer, and an appetizer, and two entrees. What a STEAL.

Food was ok but service was HORRIBLE. We ordered clearly but the waiter could not understand our order. We asked for water three times before it was brought. The check was never brought to our table so we had to go up front to ask to pay.

Always great food and great service. It was warm enough to eat on the patio so a definite plus!!!

Tonight 28 of Swan Pointe’s Homeowners Association residents went to el Nopal Blankenbaker for dinner. Our servers tonight were Ana and Ricardo. We seated ourselves at
the long row of tables and looked over the menu as Ana took our drink orders. She brought back the drinks and without any problems at all, they were quickly delivered to the correct person. El Nopal had a very extensive menu so it took me a while to decide what I wanted but soon Ana and Ricardo were taking each person’s orders. They were very quick taking the orders. I thought they did a great job. There were about 4 large parties there tonight but it wasn’t long until our food started coming out from the kitchen. Ana did a great job telling the food runners who the plates belonged to. The food was really good. There was quite a variety of items ordered. My husband’s Carne Asada was at least 10 inches long and was full of chicken. My Steak Quesadilla was rather large and had plenty of Steak and Queso inside. There were several Taco Salads ordered as well as Chicken
Chimichangas, and quite a few Burritos. Several people had Tortilla Chicken Soup in the biggest soup bowls I’ve ever seen. Everyone seemed really happy and had a great time. Ana also did a great job passing out the checks and getting credit cards back to the correct person. We want to thank the Owner for his hospitality tonight.The staff was so friendly and the restaurant is large and there is plenty of room for everyone. It never was so loud that you couldn’t talk to your friends across the tables.

First time eating at El Toro. Went for a work function, and there were about 20 of us. Only ate some appetizers as I had a big lunch. The wings were solid, the guacamole was good. Had the golden jumbo margarita it was strong just how I like it! The DJ and karaoke were the highlight!

Come out and dine at this beautiful Mexican restaurant! The food here is so delicious. I recommend the Ceviche, Fajitas and enchiladas. Ask for Junior, he is a wonderful waiter but most of he has a sense of humor.

The manager here is probably the main reason we keep coming back! He is super on it and welcoming! Very friendly! Everyone there is very friendly! Service is always super fast it’s almost like they knew what I wanted before I ordered and were already working on it! Foods definitely always hot. Drinks are good not strong enough in my opinion. But definitely will be back!

This is my neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The manager and employees treat you like family. The food is good. If you order one regular margarita, they always bring you two!! It’s 2 for 1 everyday all day on house margs!!! What’s not to love?

It was excellent! The food was very good, tasty and fresh. They are opening a Peruvian menu soon, said the owner. I am excited to try it!

Traveling through Louisville and stayed close by. Exceptional food and VERY GENEROUS portions! Especial de la Casa came out and I asked if I had mistakenly ordered the double!

Very relaxing atmosphere. Owner takes care of everyone in the place. The Steak Miramar is very delicious. I came here a bunch of times while I was in town and it never disappointed me!

Everything was awesome! The food was warm and had tons of flavor, the waiter was very attentive, and for the price it's very much worth it! I highly recommend this place

I came here a lot but I don’t know why I didn’t give them good review. My favorite is Menudo soup which is so delicious and the best I ever had. Mostly we love their fry fish but today we wanted to try T bone 🥩 OMG so delicious(highly recommend). Everytime I want to eat Mexican food, El toro is my top choice.

Do yourself a favor and come here!!!!! Their service is INCREDIBLE and the food is delicious. They made my daughter Ava’s birthday super memorable. Our waitress (short with long black hair, maybe Araceli) was fast and super friendly and the manager was great! THANK YOU

Thai is a wonderful El Nopal location to enjoy a meal in the heart of downtown Jeffersontown. I have been to this location a few times with my children and the staff and food have been fantastic. The space is decorated beautifully and kept very clean. I look forward to returning.

We ate there as part of a large group (birthday party, 80+ guests). Service was good buffet style. Will try them again as a family.

Service here at this El Nopal is always great. The food is your pretty standard mexican food dish, but I've never had anything bad here. It's also a great value in my opinion because you can eat cheaper here than any fast food joint, plus they wait on you, and provide you with enough portions you will not be hungry when you leave.

Great food at great prices! All of the staff were incredibly nice, and the $2.99 margarita is very large for that price! Their salsa tastes amazing as well!

Staff was attentive and food was great. This is the only location I know that actually has cool decorations inside.

I love their food! I usually dislike other restaurants refried beans, but their refried beans…..YUM!!!! Their customer service is great and their food is so good!!! I haven’t tried anything I don’t like. This is always our go to Mexican Restaurant! Thank you for always taking such good care of us!

I started going to this restaurant occasionally during lunch when I worked in the bluegrass industrial park area. The food was always fresh, service was always excellent, and I was always in and out and back to work in no time. I decided to bring my family here for dinner because lunch was so good and nobody was disappointed. The food here is always fresh. Never tastes old. The service is always fabulous. There is not a single waiter or waitress that I would ever complain about. Most Friday nights have become El Caporal night, and we look forward to visiting. At least half of the people we see come through the door every visit are regulars. You can't have bad food and poor service and have constant regulars. Obviously, nothing is always perfect, and people do have bad days, but I wonder if the bad reviews have more to do with the attitude of the reviewer than issues with the restaurant or its staff. I would recommend this restaurant a thousand times over. I love it here.

Atmosphere was so gloomy and old. Definitely need updating. Food was terrible. Service was extremely slow, when confronted waitress blamed it on the weather, mind you it was 75 degrees yesterday. The place wasn't busy at all yet service was terrible. We ordered a Pina colada and it was also terrible.
First time going and Definitely the last time. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Not too crowded in 5pm. Ordered two signature food, absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were kind and attentive. Highly recommend everyone to dine here, plenty of parking spaces available.

The food was great. The service not so much. The waiter literally tried to tell me the TACO I wanted (chicken taco street style no cilantro) wasn’t what I wanted. He kept trying to tell me I need to order other things in it and was very argumentative and the tone was awful, just very confusing and not helpful. I don’t do confrontation like that. Sad part is the food is good. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go back due to that poor service…but as he was super argumentative with me,he kept calling my husband sir..I got the impression he just didn’t think females were worth talking to.. not a good look at all.

I agree with the review that says don't let the exterior keep you from trying this place. It was really delicious!! The interior is really nice and clean and the service was excellent!! Definitely give it a try!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Louisville. The salsa is so good I buy some to take home. Very affordable even for large families. The pineapple chicken & shrimp fajitas are the bomb. Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This time I got the wrong food twice..what? Yes and when I mentioned it the waiter he grawled at me like a dog. He never checked on our table..never.. I will never go to this place again. Yellow Catus has now got my business! Thank you for all you didn't do to make my table happy!

4th time here. First was awesome. Next times not so much. Hard shells when I asked for soft. Grilled chicken is soaked in water. Couldn’t pick up the soft shell taco. Turned to mush before I could eat it. Wasn’t asked what kind of chicken on my tacos. Said just meat and cheese Loaded im with onions and tomatoes. No lettuce though. Win.
Wanted to like this place. But can’t recommend now. Lucky I gave it two stars.
Chipped plate too. And got charged for new tortillas for the soggy ones. Lol. Down to one star now.

I ordered the red snapper...fish was old, hard, way overcooked.... I ordered it to go on my lunch break and by the time i got back to work from the restaurant (2 minute drive tops) and took one bite...i had to throw it away...the chorizo taco I had was good tho.

Food and drinks good but my server really sucked!! We had to find him so we can order. Then he never came back to check on us after we received our food. We had to find him again to get some napkins and our check. If I go back to this establishment I definitely do not want him and I will ask for another server.. better yet, I will go to the Blankenbaker location.- service is much better..

If you absolutely abhor flavor this is the place for you! There are zero seasonings in their kitchen. The carry out nachos were such a rip-off; there may have been 7 chips in the small size. Avoid if you're looking for flavortown and a fill-up.

You can't go wrong with Jtown's El Nopal. Friendly, clean and fun atmosphere. Out door and indoor seating, easy parking. Just an all around good place to go.

Love the tortilla soup and fresh tacos! Wonderful margaritas and food! Excellent service and plenty of space for social distancing. Can't wait to return.

The food was good. Lunch specials were not expensive. The tortia chips was hot. The food was served a very short time after ordering it. They are fast during lunch time. This is great place to go during lunch if you are short on time and want a sit down meal instead of fast food.

Just came here for lunch and it's the most delicious Mexican food I've ever eaten! This is the lunch portion chimichanga fajita with steak. It was huge, fresh and delicious! I will definitely be coming here more often! Great, friendly service as well! Edited to add more photos because this is my favorite place for delicious food and drinks! 🍹
