Very mid American styled Mexican food. Portions are decent and food is fresh, but I've had better food at taco bell honestly. The worst part was the $9.49 churi queso that I ordered. There was so much oil in it that it was inedible. I asked the waitress to comp it as I was afraid to get it remade and come out exactly the same as the first. She told me I could "try scooping the oil out" LOL when I insisted she went in the back to"see what I can do".

She came back with what is in the second picture. It being remade and still being just as oily as the first. I know it's most likely not her fault that she couldn't or wasn't allowed to comp it, but I don't think I'll be going back.

Good food. Friendly service. And customers can actually use their nice, clean bathrooms. (Which is more than I can say for the nearby gas stations.) Was glad I found this place.

Our servers, Mario, Hannah and Angel were so helpful and attentive. We were greeted with smiles and great service. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the paella.

Great place to grab a drink and something to eat with friends and family. Great prices and great food. Different sales every day of the week. For example Taco Tuesday. A great atmosphere and the waiters are very friendly and attentive.

Had a live band that we came to see. The food was great! Service was slightly slow because they were much busier than expected but we were ok with that.

The place is very spacious, big ushape bar, ple ty of seating, a live band section, outside patio.. the service and food were fantastic and the place was super clean

I am so excited that Dayton, KY has a Mexican restaurant! It’s very walkable from my house and has everyone’s favorites on the menu. The space is quite small and good for a lunch or evening dinner. The salsa and chips are always a good factor in deciding whether the place is worth it, and it is. Delicious. Service was speedy and servers were so nice. Can’t wait to go back.

Yes, you do want to eat here. Everything is delicious. Seasoning was excellent, service was attentive and thorough. Atmosphere was very quiet on a Friday night, but I wasn’t mad about it. Apparently it turns into a dance floor at 10pm but we didn’t stay.

Great food and service in a cool atmosphere. Fast friendly service with sizzling hot food and ice cold drinks. An old bank converted into a restaurant. Old vault doors were cool.

The best secret in NKY! We always order carry out as times may very when dining in. The food is so, so good. Everything is scratch made by a wonderful family from Guatamala. Birria Grilled Cheese, fish tacos, massive tortas! so many great options.

They just remodeled this past year. This place is amazing. My favs are the Birria tacos and the Elotes! They are always so nice on top of the awesome food. Share to all your friends. Let's all keep them going and growing!

This is no longer taqueria Nogal. Goes by a new name. Stopped by around 1pm on a weekday. Took 10 min for them to bring me a menu. Restaurant was freezing cold. Contemplated leaving but held out hope would be a gem. It was not worth the wait. Not sure what happened to the guy that ran nogal, I’d recommend the food truck in front of the bar by the Bellevue Kroger.

What great authentic Mexican food! We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed; the food is delicious! Don't be thrown off by the facade; what's inside is well worth going in.

I have been there twice so far, and I will definitely be coming back!
I have ordered the Al Pastor tacos both times...I really wanted to try new things on their menu but the first time was so tasty I just had to get it again and I don't regret it lol. The first trip my father ordered shrimp fajitas and he really loved them. My mom ordered regular crispy beef tacos al la carte and said they were bland (and trust me that's very strange coming from her, she likes things bland which is okay! but very interesting coming from her). Second trip I got a house margarita which was tasty, and my sister for the arroz de pollo (rice & chicken with a cheese sauce) which is a common dish at local Mexican restaurants but she was exclaiming how the chicken is moist and not rubbery like other places, and was looking forward to the leftovers!

Sorry for the bad pic of the tacos, wasn't intending to take one for the review but here you go anyway. They were loaded! After the chips and salsa (idk why people were complaining about "watered down" salsa, that's just how some salsas are lol), I could only finish one taco.

Can't speak to the service so much because both times I have been there right after opening -- I was one of a couple other folks in the restaurant so service was quick and friendly. I believe the owner (maybe not) has been there both times and he is incredibly friendly and welcoming!

I historically haven't posted many positive reviews but this place might just be one of my new favorites. We came for happy hour and after having some of our favorite margaritas ever, realized they are very potent. Add to reasonable prices and the delicious food this may be a new go to spot for us, both when we're in the mood to drink or just eat with the family. The building could use some love and attention but I would definitely return.

My husband and I ate here, and it was a nice experience. Our waiter was attentive and took care of us. He knew the menu well which was helpful for me with all the questions. They had a special tonight for 2 of the fish tacos for $10. We also got the taquitos. My opinion on the pico for the taquitos was a bit onion heavy and light on the tomato. The fish tacos were really good. Their baha sauce was what gave it great flavor and the fish was of great quality. My husband ordered a margarita, and he liked it, but I'm not a tequila fan. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice hang out with nice drinks. The music they played was perfect for our generation (20-30s) they also have live music often.

Stopped in here with some friends and we were able to be seated quickly! With quick and friendly service we were well taken care of. I ordered fish tacos and a blackberry margarita and both were excellent! Definitely recommend, will definitely be back.

Food is delicious! Can’t recommend enough! Got the Quesabirria and a Burrito. Lots of flavor and filling. Had plenty to take home.

Delicious. Drinks, Taco Tuesday, all of it is great. We’d love the addition of a high-top high chair for families even we know those under three aren’t your usual crowd!

Best Mexican food ever?!?!!

Seriously, probably, they have amazing food! Right up there with La Mexicana and LA Torta Loca - authentic Mexican food!

It's a hole in the wall that you should 100% visit! We walk from Newport and enjoy grabbing beers along the way.

Update 10/27/21:
The kitchen/chef has recently changed hands and the pictures of the menu I posted prior are no longer the food that is served. The new food is just ok and the last time we went to eat there, the bar service was not that great. No one acknowledged us or took our drink order. After about 20 mins, we just went up to the bar to order our drinks, despite there being several waitresses walking around trying not to make eye contact with us.
It's a shame, because the Arepas place that was here was really freaking good!!

Have lived in Dayton almost 3 yrs now and have always wanted to stop here for a drink but never did. I had no idea they had a good menu either.
We went tonight and it was awesome! Great food! Great drinks! Service was excellent. I’m only mad we didn’t go sooner!!

One of the best Mexican food trucks in NKY! The cheese kentaco with it's caramelized onions and fresh cilantro hits a spot I didn't know I had. I also highly recommend trying their torta.
