Walked in at 9:30 got a table sat there for five minutes. Nobody served me. Went and placed a to go order for a simple breakfast sandwich and waited over 25 minutes, so got a refund and left.
Just a great place to pickup a generous tasty quick inexpensive Mexican meal in a hurry. I go there a couple of times month at least. Owners are always friendly and helpful. Orders are always right. Wished they delivered!

Stepped out to try a new restaurant and decided on this one. Based on the reviews, I was prepared for good food and drinks. After firsthand experience, I only got a part of what I was expecting. Please allow me to elaborate.

First off, restaurant vibes and ambiance are nice. Whether you sit inside or outside, it's a nice and upscale atmosphere. Not quite fine dining but not far off. We parallel parked on a street nearby. Not sure if there's a parking garage within proximity of the restaurant. Service was A1 and anything you order comes out QUICKLY! The only thing that took longer than 5 minutes to arrive was dessert. Now, onto the main course, that being the food and drinks.

The best items we enjoyed the evening of our visit was the appetizer and the dessert. The appetizer was their Herb Guacamole and it was INCREDIBLE! So good that I intentionally didn't take a direct photo because it was already halfway gone before I thought to take 1! 😂 It was very well seasoned and the lime juice was definitely there. Their chips are huge so you will have to break them to make them small enough to eat. For entrées, there was the Roasted Baby Back Ribs and the person I was with had a Tostada dish. I can't recall the exact name but they stated it was OK and there is a photo of it attached. My ribs were not great. They lacked flavor and if I had to guess, I'd guess they were never marinated. They come with tortillas and beans so the idea was to enjoy them together and these items just don't go together in my opinion. Them coming out so fast could've had something to do with that. On top of that, a Rising Sun drink was ordered and this could just be me but these drinks are deceivingly small. Glass is huge but it's filled with huge ice cubes and after a few sips from my glass, it was nearly empty. 2 biggest disappointments of the visit by far. Now the dessert was the Strawberry Tamales and it sounds weird but it's actually unique and delicious. The masa of the tamale isn't filled with meat but strawberries instead and enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream. Never had anything like this before so this was a nice surprise to wrap up the evening. Would recommend that if you haven't tried it before and you're ok with dairy and strawberries.

Overall, entress and drinks were a big miss with the rest being pretty enjoyable. However, spending $150+ for an experience this subpar isn't worth it to me. Enjoy at your own risk.
I can't praise this place enough! I forgot my lunch one day and just noticed their sign while at a stoplight and decided I'll go there for lunch. It was so good I went back the next day too as I work in different locations around the city. Not only is the food amazing but the service is wonderful and the food came out so fast! If you like Tex-Mex then you will, absolutely, love this place!

Do not come to this Tortas Locas location. The food was not good at all. We ordered tacos de lengua, asada y pastor and the meat was very dry and hard. The lengua smelled bad, it was a fishy, unusual smell. It doesn't smell like this because we have gone to other Tortas Locas locations and our tacos don't come out like this. And the tortillas were not cooked properly, they were cold and had a sandy texture to them. This location is not a good place to eat. I recommend going to another Tortas Locas location.

Last night we around 9 pm we ordered delivery it was like 9 pm 2 tortas which were empty just bread with little piece of cheese and we ordered 2. horchatas then no straws at all and not even one simple napkin horrible service tortas not taste at all only d cold bread without nothing inside please go somewhere else or order somewhere else we spent 40 bucks on that disgusting tortas 🤮🤢😡👎🏻
Food and customer service was very good! Their prices were also very good!
Very dark inside. Food is definitely catered towards a more suburban crowd.

Red flag no. 1 - they don’t have Mexican coke.

No 2. - they don’t have either red or green salsa.

I ordered fajitas and they had NO seasoning on them. Legit zero “zest and oomph”. Corn tortillas are clearly purchased in bulk at restaurant depot and quickly reheated before served.

Service was good though, so they have that.
Only a few speak good English but their food is amazing. I order asada tacos and arroz 😋use the green sauce and pickled onions in the rice it's good. Just Google what you want in Spanish it'll come up

This is a fantastic restaurant. I have been several times and I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere inside and outside is wonderful. Outside makes you feel like you're on vacation somewhere exotic. The attention to detail is amazing... from the food presentation to the decor. The staff is friendly and pleasant. Shout out to Briana at the bar. Everything is perfect! On this visit I had the Clandestina cocktail, Tostada Hamachi and Tetela de Pato. The Tostada Hamachi was one of the best flavors I have ever tasted. YUM!
I absolutely love this restaurant!!! Wonderful food and the most amazing service!!! I have loved this place since high school, forever ago!!

What a pleasant surprise. This place may have the best Mexican (Oaxacan) food I've ever had. My friend and I ordered the steak quesadilla, rainbow trout, and al pastor. The tres leches was the cherry on top. Oh, and the drinks were outstanding too. Everything was absolutely tasty...and best of all, you didn't feel heavy afterwards. It all just looked and felt, light and healthy. You can tell the ingredients were top notch and better than you'll find at a typical "Mexican" restaurant. This is not only a Chamblee hidden gem, but it's Atlanta's too.
I've been coming to this restaurant since I was kid and it first opened back in 1981. 43 years later the food is still excellent and quality consistent. The staff is always friendly. The prices are still reasonable. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

First of all, shout out to the staff who were universally great. The food was overall quite tasty (we got the ceviche, a couple of tacos, and gringuitas al pastor), but the cocktails left much to be desired. The biggest sin this restaurant commits is the price tag: everything felt 20-30% too expensive for what we received. The Gringuitas especially, though they were very tasty, felt like something you could buy off of a food truck for $7 each, rather than $20 for 2.
Love the food - but never trust the hours! They’re almost never open when they say they will be. They haven’t been open for lunch on Saturdays whenever we’ve tried.

They need to understand that when we order via Google, it does not show up as DoorDash. Or maybe Google needs to understand that. Tried to tell me I picked up a DoorDash order when I know I ordered via Google caused a lot of issues... i'm telling them I ordered via Google. They're telling me it's DoorDash.

Tacos are good.

Service could be more attentive between visits to the table. The food and ambiance were amazing. This is probably our fourth or fifth time to Oaxaca. If you’ve been to Cosme in NYC, this gives similar vibes of the cuisine. Duck carnitas, pipián short ribs, pork belly tacos, and the deconstructed corn husk merengue are the tops. Definitely planning on coming back several more times.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I stumbled upon this gem of a Mexican restaurant and I'm so glad I did! The corn and birria tacos were out of this world - bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. And can we talk about how clean the bathroom was? A rare find indeed! 10/10 would recommend for delicious food and impeccable cleanliness. Will definitely be coming back for more! 🌮🌽👌 #TacoHeaven #CleanBathroom #FiveStars"

They participate Chamblee Restaurant Week promotion event. Some taco is supposed to be $2 ("$1 for extra handmade tortillas"), however, when our bill came, we were charge $3 per taco. Our server didn't seem to speak English well, and was pointing to that statement, but when we order, we didn't ask for it, and he didn't confirm or upsell, so we felt he is being dishonest. We didn't argue with him further, but that unfortunately made a bad taste for us and will not recommend this place.

Free chips, lots of hot sauce options. Decent amount menu items and a lot of seafood items. Taco was... okay... meat was a bit dry. They have bands going around to play music, very cool! Ample parking space and lots of tables/seats.

Loved this spot! First time going and all the food was on point and the service was wonderful! Enjoyed their brunch menu and a few things on the main menu. Favorites were the guacamole, mole enchiladas, and the Birria tacos. Wish we had saved room to try the churros- next time!

Amazing ambiance and delicious food. Some of the best food I’ve had on Buford highway. Their chicken tacos and steak tacos are my favorite! I would highly recommend trying their tacos if it’s your first time coming. Chips and salsa come with every meal. Always fresh. Tortillas are homemade.

This is the first time I’ve came with them
One of my favorite micro-chains. There is always a line so you know it is going to be good. I almost always get tacos but their blue plates are always spectacular as well. Service is great- fast and reliable. Definitely a more southern approach to a taqueria and I'm so here for it.

My sister and I dined last night at prime time dinner time (7:30). Erick was our server and BLESS HIS HEART someone give this man a raise! He was doing it ALL! They were packed last night - every table was filled, including the bar, and they just kept coming. We watched as Erick was not just half the restaurant’s server, but he was the busser, the food/drink runner, the host..all while keeping cool and calm.. he was the ultimate renaissance man.
Aside from amazing service, the food and drinks were delish!!!

Went there on Monday night. Only one server. Had to ask owner instead of server for water, extra chips. Seemed like there was only one server for the whole restaurant. Owner seemed to have a lot of friends drop by and dine in as well. The corn tortillas were stale on the enchiladas. Only time server ever talked to us what would you like to drink, what would you like to order, and have a good night.

My wife and I love this place. They have a weekly changing menu which sometimes has stars. But favorite item has finally returned thus week. Their chicken pot pie is amazing. A little on the spicy side but we will definitely be back to get two more before weekly menu change
Okay, I admit I've put off going to Taqueria del Sol in favor of what I deem more authentic tacos places along south Chamblee-Dunwoody and Buford Highway. While very bourgie, I found the food product high quality and flavorful. The tacos are made with flour tortillas which is common in the north of Mexico like Sonora and Chihuahua. I alway try carnitas as an initial test. Here they were juicy and tender. A bit salty, but tasty. I liked the brisket taco too. These tacos are alway lightly dressed so you can really taste rmeat. The guacamole was made with nice big chunks of avocado and modest amounts of fillers and seasoning. $15 for lunch is reasonable, but most of my other favs charge about $3 a taco and here they are $4. The place is popular and busy at lunch. Don't let the line put you off, it moves quickly. You order, sit and food is brought to you. Bright, clean with basic deco. Try the "blue plate" its usually a good deal at $11.

The establishment has plenty of free parking around it. The place is easy to locate. The restaurant is big and welcoming with a great atmosphere and lovely decorations. The service is good, they are attentive. The food was delicious and fairly priced. The only comment I would say is for the bathrooms could be cleaner. Overall would recommend coming for a good meal.

Modern building, can have long lines, but they usually go pretty fast. Amazing food! Many of the members of the staff you can see every time you go there. The patio is pretty nice, and when the Marta train goes by it feels something like comforting, I don’t know. One of the best Mexican places.
Every Cocina has a story. Rojo Cocina story can be found throughout the history of the Mexican people thru the eyes of those who fought to protect its land, people, and rich taste.

Thru "los ojos" of the people we can taste the loyalty of authentic spices and taste of Mexico.

I've order Pollo Ranchero from many places.  With every bite of Rojo's Ranchero, I am reminded just how bless we are to share in its reach history which connects us to each other.

No matter where we are there is always a common ground thru our cuisine and art.

It is thru Rojo's Cocina we are taken into the time of El Presidente y  los generales. Those righteous rebels who fought to secure the history of Mexico in every Cocina de Mexicano.

This place was absolutely amazing. The food was better than anywhere else I have been in a really long time. I can't wait to visit this place again. The manager and employees were so nice to us I don't think I've been anywhere in a really long time that had a manager and employees be so kind and make us feel right at home. We were treated like we were family. I absolutely loved it
This place is amazing. My wife ordered the pastor bowl and meat was so tender it literally fell apart trying to eat. It had immense flavor and not covered in goup. I had just tacos carbon but that doesn’t do the tacos Justice. I could taste everything with the tacos down to all the ingredients. The margaritas were incredible! If you have not been to this place put it on your must do asap list!!! The team at this location is so happy and makes you feel so welcomed!

It’s an Atlanta staple for a casual lunch or dinner. There’s usually a line for a reason, but it goes quick and it helps taper out table availability. The menu is simple and consistent here, and at their other locations. Everything is good; tacos, enchiladas, chilis, and even the specials that change weekly.

Always have a great time here. I can’t recall the bartender’s name (short hair and braces), but she was absolutely amazing! I’ve been in the restaurant industry for a while and can honestly say that her genuine demeanor and peak-level customer service was very refreshing and appreciated. Cocktails were great also - highly recommend!
You can’t go wrong with their fish tacos, shrimp corn chowder, and their guacamole. Nice quick lunch. But due to the holiday, it seemed extra busy. The line was all the way back to the door. But I was getting mine to go so I was able to move quicker than others.
Ok no place is perfect, some however do deserve a 5 star rating. La Patrona is close to the 5 🌟 rating. The seating and restroom areas can use upgrades. Food, service and atmosphere are very much on point
Office colleagues on the way to airport were searching for some good Mexican food - and they landed here!! That is what really happened 😊
We were greeted so warmly and they were so very nice - all of them. Looks like a family run place and as such it was so welcome. They have few beers on the tap - so that was good!! Menu has a lots of options - and as one of our colleague was a vegetarian, he was put to ease as everything could be turned to a veg meal!! We gorged on some amazing food at offer. There were not many customers though, weekday and afternoon could be a reason for sure! But we super enjoyed our lunch at El Torero ✔️

I saw this restaurant on an IG review. They notably made it apparent that the food was amazing and from the pics it looked really good. My server was Marco, I honestly don't think he was a server because he's a manager. Either way, Marco was amazing and made my experience along with my friends a very enjoyable and wonderful time. He was so nice and patient, Marco went above and beyond. The food was amazing, the drinks...amazing! I will definitely be coming back with a gang of my friends. This restaurant will be added to my rotation of favorite restaurants.

We selected nachos and tlayuda from the menu this dining experience. Both were excellent, and although the meat was very tasty, our thought is it might have been better cut into smaller pieces considering it was a topping.

The sauces were very good as well as the salsa and chips.

The suggested drinks were most excellent.

Carlos was entertaining and very service oriented. Looking forward to visiting again!

Parking is available in the rear.

3.8 | this spot came recommended. very good tacos and the flavors were nice & tasted very fresh. the duck was a bit too salty for me but flavors were good. I had a cocktail with wine [forgot the name] but it was quite lovely. I’d definitely come back. the atmosphere is also beautiful, and the service was good.
Clean. 3 savory tacos & water. $11.👍

I felt like I'm suspiciously genteal for this place. It's a dark little restaurant that feels a little utilitarian but clean and well kept.

I had tacos. No sopes. Al pastor, lengua and cabeza. The cabeza had that hearty flavor without chunks of fat. Tasty, ample servings of meat. Water served in the bottle.

I was in at 11:05 and out at 11:30.

Quick. Tasty. Affordable. Clean.

I'll be back.
Really 4.5 - This is a very typical Mexican place… prices are at the right point, quality of food is okay, service was great. This definitely a quantity over quality experience… so good with big eaters, kids or when famished. Had not tried the drinks, but I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here, but not a destination type place.

No complimentary chips!!!! Fist time I have been at a Mexican restaurant and not had complimentary. Interior is nice but a bit sterile. You order at a counter and food is bought out to you. Food quality is excellent, but a little small. Soft drinks are served by the can do no complimentary refills. Nice bar area and outdoor seating. I had a carnita taco and beef red chili and my wife a brisket taco. Parking seems to be an issue just about all the time. I’m not crazy about tipping when you “counter order”, especially when the offer you percentages.

Absolutely delicious food and beautiful presentation! Excited to see the unique flavors and tradition of Oaxacan dishes make their way into the Atlanta food scene. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The outdoor patio dining was a really nice experience too.
When it’s time to eat, it’s time to eat at Rojo Cocina!!

I ordered the chicken chimichanga and the enchiladas suprema to have a variety. They were both awesome!!! Loved them both! I’m interested in trying Veggie combo no. 3 next time. Cheers!!!

This is my 1st time here, but I've heard a lot of great things about it!! I should have probably gotten a recommendation on what to try. We ended up getting the burrito and tacos. I wasn't a fan of the burrito. However, the customer service is amazing, and we absolutely love the atmosphere!! We will definitely be back, but we'll ask for their specialty.
Food was delicious nice and clean good customer service

We had greats laughs, some food, and strong drinks @antiguolobo in #chambleega on Foodie Friday!!

Here is what we had:

Queso Fundido with added chorizo
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This here was amazing. Stringy, hot Chihuahua cheese with seasoned chorizo in the middle. The warm tortillas they give you in the side is perfect for holding the cheese and this flavorful meat. Awesome!!

Enchiladas Verdes
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not bad. Some of the ingredients could have used more seasoning to give it more pop.

Hibiscus Tacos
Fried hibiscus flower, refried beans, avocado, pickled veggies
❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was good we figured out another veggie we like. #veggietacos

The drinks here were strong and tasty, though I can't remember the name of the drinks. You can tell they have a good bar tender, not just someone serving drinks.

We found the customer service just okay.

Overall, it wasn't bad at all, but not a place we have to double back too considering we have so many amazing Mexican spots in Atlanta.

I had not been here to eat in more than 10 years and it was wonderful.
I actually live nearby and now I understand why the parking lot is full all the time.
Service was friendly and excellent.
The food was fresh and good
We were on the patio and the music was a little too loud for my taste. It was hard to carry on a conversation but I wouldn't let that stop you from going there to eat.
And they even have some healthier options which they did not have the last time I was there. My friend ordered a soup that she couldn't stop raving over.
Great friendly atmosphere, excellent service, and lovely food for reasonable prices. We had Enchiladas Verdes, Caribbean Bowl, and Churros with Mexican beers. We are becoming regular customers as we live nearby.
I love this place!!! It’s lowkey but def the best Mexican food you’ll find around! I ordered the Tacos la patrona.

We went on a Saturday morning and it was pretty empty. They have a lunch special Mon-Sat with all the menu favorites. We got the enchiladas supremes, chicken chimichanga, and beef burrito supremes. The portion sizes were good for the price, but the beef burrito was slightly over salted (came with rice), chimichanga only came with rice (no beans, the chicken was slightly dry-don’t expect an over sauced chimichanga), and the variety of the chimichangas was nice (1 beef, 1 cheese, 1 chicken)! Seating area a little chilly, but very clean and nicely decorated! Great atmosphere!
Everything was good and had flavor. I wanted a little extra spice and our waitress asked the cook to spice mine up, he did it was good. Salsa and chips were good and my flan was good. The waitress checked on us also.

My go-to spot for Tortas and tacos. Everything is made fresh and the meat is seasoned really well. The steak is always tender and the kitchen is very quick. The lot is never too packed so it usually easy to find a parking spot. Definitely reccomended for Mexican street food.

Honestly the best tasting thing you could get in Atlanta for $8.49.

Listen. Swing by. Pay your $8.49 for that Chicken Torta. It’s a sandwich with chicken, cheese, beans and other goodness.

Then go to the Salsa table on the side. Get that green salsa sauce, that yellow-green mayo looking sauce, and some of the pico de gallo salsa. Throw it all in the sandwich. I truly promise you won’t regret it.
That lady that used to work at Farmers Market years ago whom physically hit me, (thinking I was defenseless) then tried to frame me over it....shops at Formosa. She had no idea she literally attacked a martial artist, tho I was not a black belt at that time, but right now I am. Just how many lies can she tell other people saying "I was the one that hit her first"? She tried to frame me and even get law enforcement police involved.
Absolutely DO NOT EAT HERE!!
1,000 Mexican restaurants on Buford Hwy, and every one of them is a better choice.
Rude server, 4$ up charge for lettuce, tomato on a burrito.
My burrito combo came in a plate of foul Smelling soupy brown sauce, that tasted horrible.
The salsa isn't much better, Red water, yuck.

I am starving and am not gonna finish it.
It smells bad, and tastes horrible. I know I'm going to be sick later....

The table cleaner yoangel was nice....
Unfortunately, I cannot write a positive review given my experience having dinner tonight. The highlight of my meal was the outstanding service offered by the wait staff. The food is extremely disappointing on multiple fronts. Starting with the chips and salsa, the chips were very hard and did not appear to be fresh. The salsa was extremely runny and lacked any real flavor. I ordered the chicken fajitas with flour tortillas rice and beans. The chicken was not served as strips of chicken it was tiny bites or chunks of chicken where I could not tell if it was white or dark meat. Even with the peppers and onions it liked the traditional fajita flavor. The rice and beans were decent but nothing over the top. While I was certainly looking forward to a good dessert, I did not want to risk getting something that was not edible. For the fajitas and ice tea with tip was $24. Unfortunately I have no plans to return.
The food is excellent ! The best grilled fish tacos I have had, along with the best homemade guacamole. Chips are nice and thin also.
Honestly if your from a different state and know that when you go to dance it's either a yes or no here is a yes but here's the catch at the last part of the dance they charge for the dance my mind was blowed everywhere I've been it's a yes or no here they charge learned the bad way just passing tips.
Nice place with pleasant environment .
I can't say much about other people's experiences but... I love this place I have been eating here once a week just to see if it would be different each time and it hasn't. Evwrytime I drive by this place it always had a full parking lot which made me want to try it. I don't eat red meat or pork. I order everything chicken or veggie and it's to die for my brother is a eater of all things meat lol and he has cleaned his plate every time the portions are nice and the price is exceptional. If you are looking for AUTHENTIC MEXICAN CUISINE this is your place. The wait staff very nice and knowledgeable as well
I had a sandwich from this place a looong time back. I wanted to try it again but I guess the owner changed and probably the restaurant too. But not quite sure.
Anywho, came back to this place and so far I like it a lot. Tried there tacos which was good. And then their burrito.
I liked everything so far, probably gonna come here more often then I thought haha.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Not much selection in menu and even water is in a bottle... But flavors on point! Enchiladas and carne asada! My delicioso! And their salsas are sooo good!
Not there enough room to dance
Amazing experience overall! Great music, drinks were sofisticastes and well prepared, food was fresh (guacamole was exceptional) and high quality service. Not your typical Mexican chain restaurant, it’s certainly one of the best I’ve been in the Atlanta area and I highly recommend it. Staff is super friendly. You should try it if you have the chance.

This is my new neighborhood favorite. The hibiscus cocktails were smokey, tart and delicious. The queso fundido could stretch to the moon and back. It's also made with quality chorizo. Excellent noms. If you're looking for a classic burrito you're in luck because they do a phenomenal job of it. I loved the steal burrito. My partner got the enchiladas which were so delicious she only left me one bite to share 🥺

Update: I hate the live acoustic guitar bro. Never eating here when musician is present. 1 star for atmosphere.
Its a bar at night to small for so many people
Had a drink over there. It's not very crowded on Thursday night. And I was told it's very busy on weekends.

Excellent steak and cheese quesadilla, and the tacos carnitas are even better. A salsa bar provides 6 different options, both green and red, and queso topping. And the horchata was as good as I've had. Prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff. I definitely will be coming back here to eat!
Fun place to dance the night away to latino music and latin beats
This place always have a good food that tastes authentic. The prices are not that bad either. you are in the area I would highly recommend this place. The tacos de carne asada are excellent if you like the taco truck taste. The employees dont all speak English that well but, they make up for it with how nice they are ⁴44
It's a little hole in a wall of a place. Hard to see with the signage it has. But inside, authentic Mexican restaurant!. Food a salsa is good. The horchata is worth the second glass. Very good food.
Good place to drink a beer. Hispanic bar.
