Reviews

The food and atmosphere and the restaurant were really great, along with good music being played. The food was absolutely delicious (especially the tofu we got alongside the BBQ) and the meat was also great. The staff was very attentive, and switched out the hot plates several times when too much stuff had been cooked on it. Overall a great experience and definitely going back at some point.
I came alone without reservation. I recommend everyone to make a reservation, though I think it will be tough considering the resto was full by the time I arrived and it seems that is always the case. I also recommend you to not go alone; better have someone or a group with you if you want to dine in. I talked to a few people waiting with me and according to them, they tried calling earlier but no one answered. The waiter was rude when I asked if there's a free place; he quickly dismissed me then turned around to an another group waiting for me. I asked for a take out instead, but then another waiter told me to wait outside. Considering that it is winter, it's a shame they don't have a waiting area inside. Judging from the menu, the food is quite expensive, and card payments are only possible for 30 € and above of expenses. I waited for 45 minutes for a single bibimbap order. The waiter said it really takes a long while before it gets cooked.
The chicken was unfortunately not really crispy. The kimchi stew was a bit tasteless it was just very spicy. The pancake was very good. All in all it was ok the service was also not really attentive to notice so I always had to ask for things like spoon and stuff.
I had the best time here. Top korean BBQ, delicious dishes (even all the side dishes were really good) with generous portion, nice, cozy place. The quality was definitely worth the price. Service was fast and the servers were all attentive and friendly.
Overall it was a 5/5 experience. Really a nice place to get a meal with group of friends or family!
TOP Korean BBQ!!!

Super Super Lecker. 🌟 The Grill was Fantastic and really delicious. Atmosphere was cool and service was also good. The Kimchi Fried Rice was really tasty and the side dishes were delicious. Yeah..it’s a little bit expensive than the other Grill in Düsseldorf. We have payed ~90€ for 2 persons but we are totally satisfied with our choice. 10/10 🌟.
The portion size is generous. Two of us ordered a serving of fried chicken, two drinks, and a side dish, and it only cost 39 euros! Moreover, we had a third of the fried chicken left over (which we took away).
The taste was delicious, and you could tell the chicken was fresh.
The waiter was very friendly.

Went here for takeaway Korean fried chicken. We ordered (all big portions) Ganjang Chicken, Kkangpung Chicken, and original Fried Chicken 🍗 if you are planning for dine in, you have to reserve beforehand, because it's always full. The foods tasted great and each big portion is big enough to share between 2-3 person. Won't recommend it for a family dinner with elderly (dine in), since it's always packed with youngsters. It was overall a good takeaway experience.

Might be the best Korean restaurant in Dusseldorf! This is the spot, just go.

Each dish reminded me of my trip to Korea, all done in the proper Korean way, and we enjoyed every single one of them. Staff were super nice as well.

Can get super busy and reservation highly HIIIIIGHLY recommended.
A small but cosy restaurant. Open kitchen, so you can even watch them preparing the food. The food is authentic and tasty.

Very delicious and the staff were super friendly
We were casually headed back to our homes when my friend sensed a good vibe to this place and we decided to eat!! As we were looking for various options, our first choice was the cheese tteokbokki and it turned out so delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed to the point where we finished everything out in the platter😍🤣 The staff was so warm and friendly!! Would definitely hit this place again😇
PS: The pickled dishes especially the garlic brocolli and others were lipsmacking!!

This place is rather bar that serves food than a restaurant…
Always quite busy and only very limited seating so make sure to reserve beforehand!
Might be hard because they hardly pick up the phone…
The staff was nice and the food really delicious but sadly our dishes for the table came almost half an hour separately so by the time the chicken arrived our side dishes were cold or already eaten.
Normally they give out gloves for the chicken but they ran out of them when we were there :(.
The portions are big but also quite pricey.

I will probably visit again mainly to drink and eat besides. But not mainly to eat.

The food was amazing, super fresh, and having been in Korea can confirm the taste is authentic.
The overall staff were very nice, only thing we wanted to highlight as con is that the owner was rude to us when asking for simple information.
Very good dishes. Great service. Small issue with payments- credit card payment from 50 EUR (German card from 20 EUR), but the bank is just around the corner. I recommend.
Thankful for taking us in without reservation. The restaurant was already busy at 6pm with many customers enjoying their beer with bbq & piping hot dishes. Korea house is generous with their portions. We were very full from our order. Kimchi Suppe was too salty for a Korean dish. Couldn’t taste the kimchi at all just a salty soup. But still good to fill the stomach. Korean fried chicken was flavorful as well. Meeting expectations. All tables comes with banchan complimentary with your orders. The authentic Korean hospitality. Would come back to try other dishes.
🤩Food definitely 5 🌟!!!! Amazing both in terms of the number of options and taste.
Level of Scharf 🌶️ also flexible 👍🏻
✅ Asian tastebuds approved
The staff/service would be the only hit and miss factor. 🤪 Sometimes it’s extremely friendly, other times 🙊
But overall definitely a solid recommendation for anyone that’s up to an authentic Korean food experience 🤗🤗
Fried chicken was sooo delicious! Other food quality were also great. Here is one of the best Korean restaurants in Düsseldorf🫶🏻

Performance/price is very good, service is VERY fast (tho not necessarily very friendly), the interior design is cool however the tables and the floor are sticky even right after opening.

I had a delicious Dweaeji Bulgogi, not the best in town tho.

Them being open until 2am is definitely an advantage.

Make sure you make reservations, otherwise its very hard to find a spot especially in early hours after opening.
Very authentic Korean bbq! The grill is just like how it should be, and staff are very willing/fast when you ask to replace the grill.

The staff are nice but they don’t come by unless you ask them to. They seemed quite busy.

Indoor seating smells like bbq (like how it is in Korea). You need a shower after 😉

Reservation recommended. Saturday evening was full but they can still arrange a seat for you if you can wait for 10-20 minutes at the door.
Excellent and authentic Korean food. Price is fair for this quality. I recommend a soup and a bimbimbap. Try to be there as early as you can to avoid any queue.

The restaurant is super cute from the design to the signs (e.g. "Beautiful women leave beautiful trace"). The food is super good that it made me dance a bit 😋😋 The portion here is quite big so if you're small/don't eat much, you can order 1 dish and share with your friend.
The only minus point is that they don't accept card here, so prepare some cash with you before coming (otherwise there's an ATM around 5 mins walking away)

i felt the owner treated their own better. that makes me a little disappointed.

We ordered take out, but at 10pm, the fried chicken ran out. i am hard to believe. so we ordered pancakes and rice cake. It tasted really good tho. i can't deny it.

A very vivid and crowded restaurant. The food was good but it can be a bit difficult to chat properly with friends. I actually was attracted by the fish cake soup but it turned out to be ok. The other dish was nice.

I had 짬뽕(Jjamppong) here yesterday, which was served with free side dishes. Just feels like being at the restaurants in Korea. But I would say the interior design feels more like a traditional Chinese restaurant 😅 The dish was tasty but not that authentic. ( I just traveled to Korea last week xd) And it wasn’t spicy at all. The owners was kind that he talked to every table. Overall, it’s a nice place to try out Korean-Chinese dishes here.
The food was really really good. I’ve tried Galbi Tang before in other places and it was good but i tried the Ugeojitang Galbi here and jt was REALLY GOOD.

Very friendly and swift service :)
Good food, a solid bibimbap(4.5/5), kimbab was good (3/5), and kimchijjeon was tasty too (3.9/5). For my taste some spices were missing in the last too, which is why it felt like some flavour was missing. Still I would count bibimcup as a solid choice for trying korean food, specially if you're just getting into Korean kitchen or trying something new :)
Come try it out 😆

Ps very pet friendly!

The restaurant was nice, enjoyed good atmostphere. Service was good, the waiters/ waitresses were attentive. The food was okay just expected something better. Mando was good, but Japchae was a bit too sweet and saucy. I finished the food but didnt feel like I want to repeat. Bulgolgi was a bit too sweet as well. Homemade matcha ice-cream was icy but since it's homemade, it's undersandable.
I was super excited to try this place out. It’s constantly full and looked amazing. BUT - it was honestly a huge let down.

The chicken was warm at best. The sauce (special sauce) itself was good but do yourself a favor and stay away from the cheese one. It looks like it was coated in the cheese from instant Mac n cheese. Listen to the Google reviews. This place really is a 3.9.

We are craving for fried chicken when we have the first ever lunch and found out the Cheese Pancake is outstanding, the boss would like us to consume the hot pancake first before go for the others dishes. Very nice recommendation from female waitress. I love the fried chicken with the spicy Jajang Sauce which are with potatoes. Grill beef is quite large portion and me and wife enjoy it a lot.

Nice little place, delicious food, friendly service, decent pricing and quick delivery. What more could you possibly want. I would gladly return... over and over...
Pretty authentic Korean joint owned by a old Korean couple. The service was super friendly and our waitress was very helpful. The restaurant was much bigger than expected and is great for groups as they have large table to accommodate groups of people who would like to have Bulgogi (Korean bbq)
Upon entering, I saw that most of the diners were Korean families (always a good sign)
I ordered the Spicy Beef Stew which came piping hot and was really comforting in a cold day, while my friend had beef fried noodles. The noodles were not as appetising as they were super oily. But the beef slices were tasty. I liked that they served a variety of banchan (small appetiser dishes) and all of them were pretty ok.
We also had the fried Mandu (veggie dumplings). The pastry was rather doughy which was abiT strange and perhaps not fried enough but the filling was tasty.
Overall, worth a second try for the rest of their dishes.
A good place for a hearty meal
Love the food here so much! Went here three times already and it never disappoint. We ordered beef bulgogi, fried chicken, beef samgyup and bibimbap. All of them are 10/10. They are also very generous of the side dishes. Their makgeolli is a must-try especially if you love to drink like me haha. Oh and their ordering system is so efficient and I think this is impacts why their food service is so fast. Great job!
Great dinner at Gusan! Cozy atmosphere and very friendly service. They checked in several times with us if everything’s ok or if we need anything. Also gave us advice what to order. Food was delicious, I loved the kimchijeon!!
Definitely wanna go again 👍🏻

I had high expectations for the food, i don’t think its authentic korean. I ordered kimbap which was rolled too loosely so every time i would pick up a piece it would unfold, chicken veggie dish was too overcooked i couldn’t taste chicken and it was extremely chewy, the side dishes came depending on your order and kimchi was a separate order
I was here a long time ago. Somehow I forgot this little gem. Fortunately, my friend wished to have Korean food and I didn't want to bore her with the same restaurants again. There came Gusan back to my mind.

Gusan stands on the quieter side of the Stresemann Straße. The sign is written in classic korean calligraphy, which gives a hint of authenticity. The layout inside the restaurant is simple and clean. Some may not like the lightly clustered feeling, but it is what makes it Korean.

The restaurant offers home-style Korean food. The menu is brief but sufficient. You won't be trapped in decision-making. At the same time, you choices are not compromised. You can choose from different meat, seafood and vegetables in forms of soup and stir-fry in different levels of spiciness.

The service is spotless. A waitress stopped us from ordering a side dish that we would get from a main dish combo anyways. The lady cook consulted us if the main dishes should be served before she did it. By leaving, the lady even held the door open for us.

If you crave for some authentic hearty Korean food, Gusan is the place to go. I can only recommend it.

P.S. we've ordered too much food than we could eat. Eyes are always bigger than stomach. I have to apologize for the food waste. I'd be more considerate next time.

My boyfriend and I love Korean culture and decided to visit this restaurant for my birthday. Such an experience was the first time, we dreamed of trying Korean food! And we were impressed with the taste, the atmosphere. The staff is very polite, at the very end they were surprised at such low prices, usually in restaurants we spend ~130€, here it took 50, but we ate in full. Thank you for this experience, and for a wonderful dinner! We will definitely be back to feel like in Korea for a moment!

We ended up at this place by accident. But it was a lucky one.

The food reminded me about the vacation I spent in South korea. The lady serving us was nice. The food came out quickly.

The galbi jimm was delicious. And I loved the crispy rice on the bottom of my bulgogi hotpot.
Extremely yummy Korean food. The best I’ve had in Düsseldorf so far. Staff were pleasant and service was quick. I can eat here every week! Prices are not that expensive and the servings are quite generous.

The Korean lady was nice but the Chinese man seems weird. Jjampong, the spicy noodle soup was not meeting the standard taste at all. I asked them to make it spicier but it was a joke.
It was not bad overall but I will never go back.
Definitely a good taste and very original Korean food! The only thing that was in my head was that the portions could be bigger! I had the feeling that there could be more beef. I was not completely full when we left the restaurant.
Super friendly and attentive staff and it goes without saying the food was excellent. I highly recommend that you try the set menu. It’s reasonably priced and you will be stuffed by the end. As a side note though, the kimchi that comes with the set menu might not be enough. So I recommend ordering a separate plate of it.

A nice place to try some Korean food with a variety of dishes. Everything tasted fresh and delicious although some of them were very spicy so be prepared.
For 4 stars only because they need to manage the queue outside better. We were waiting for 30 mins while we could see that there are free tables inside and the staff wasn’t the politest when we asked them about it. Maybe they were just understaffed or something.
Anyway the food is very good so probably will try it again.

This place is a very good combination of great food with good hospitality. It is owned and run by a family so food here has homely touch. It is delicious! It comes in big portion and with lots of sides. Loved the food! They have very good vegeterian options, healthy options and options for children. The owner and the family are very hospitable and warm. Their attire was beautiful. The waiting line to get in can be long but it is worth the wait. While you wait outside, don't forget to press the ring button on the table. The restaurant also has specific opening hours based on lunch and dinner time. Their aim is to have quality food and you can feel it in the taste of the food as well as their service. Location of this restaurant is good. It is easy to reach and very convenient. This place has a very nice atmosphere. The seating area is spacious. There are children seats as well. One thing to note is, this place only excepts cash. I loved this place and I can highly recommend it. I will definitely visit this place again next time I am in Dusseldorf. Thank you for the amazing lunch!
Twice in 24 hours! I absolutely love the dishes here. Prices are great and service is good. It's not on the viral level of Duesseldorf Asian restaurants, but that's ok. It's busy, tasty, great value...and my egg was damn perfect. OMG!
Good Korean food especially their ox soup are highly recommended. You can feel that the soup base has been properly prepared with qualified and fresh ingredients. Hope they will maintain the high standards and we will definitely come back.

Not as bad as said, the meat looks clean and fresh, some of each part is given. There are also free Korean Salads to choose from, which is really a good deal, and the price is not very high 🤔

In fact, you won't find a place like this in many small European cities. I have been in Granada, Spain for 4 years and this is the first time I ate Korean BBQ Buffet, well in Dusseldorf, Germany 🇩🇪
Very nice experience at bbq chicken.

I had to try out korean fried chicken since i heard they cover the whole thing in spicy sauce. Very delicious...and messy;)

I paid with the mozzarella sticks and a large coke around 25€. Not cheap but definitly worth it in my opion.
We ordered a boneless fried chicken combo with two different sauces and some topokki with extra cheese. Everything was delicious! They understand the word "extra" I was very happy to see how much cheese they put on the topokki. Beer and soft drinks are available which go well with the chicken. If you cannot finish it the staff will give you some boxes to pack the food. The staff is bubbly and looks like they enjoy their job. They are welcoming and patient. I noticed they speak Korean, English and German. (maybe also other languages?) For us it was helpful since we are not from Germany.
Are you looking for an authentic Korean fast food restaurant then this is the place to be. Other than chicken or topokki they have a wide range of other fried snacks (or just fries) They have different chicken flavors with sauces but also spices (cheese powder for example). If you choose the chicken with bone and you are afraid to get your hands dirty then you can request gloves and if you don't like gloves then know there is a bathroom available to wash your hands. Definitely worth the visit, I can only recommend!
the flavour was nice, but the food came lukewarm. noodles were already clumping together. there wasnt a lot of meat either, mostly onion. if youre in a rush this isnt the place for you; food took a while to come. the banchan / side dishes were not bad. it's alright if you just want to satisfy a craving

The table was 90% empty during lunch, and the server refused to give me a big table, because I asked for a table for 1. I also called the restaurant 10 minutes in advance to ask if there is a free table, and they said yes I can come. When I got there, they told me that they cannot give me any big table, and I should wait at least 30 minutes for a smaller sized table. This would have made sense if the restaurant was close to being full, but it was mostly empty. I wouldn’t come back, simply because the communication is so poor.

Lovely place. I loved the food and the staff was also very nice. Unfortunately the starter that we ordered took so long that it overlapped with the main course. And my yolk was fully cooked and not liquid as it should have been. It seems that the cooks are either slow or understaffed.

UPDATE: I was there again at the end of December and tbd service was better. Unfortunately the dish time wasn’t my taste so much. Can’t recommend the octopus Bibimcup.
Korean chicken that taste like korean chicken😋😋 delicious and crispy the special sauce is soooo guuudddddd… but I was also bit disappointed bcoz they didn’t give the raddish pickle at my last visit. But apparently they still gave to other table..😭😭

Very good Korean food. The OJINGER BOKKEUM (fried squid with vegetables and rice) was delicious. The KIMCHI UDON (soup) with beef had literally 1 piece of beef meat and I had to tell them about this and they have added some more pieces of beef. The soup was OK and tasty. KIMBAB was very good. The staff is friendly. The toilet was kind of smelly and needs some more claning. The prices are above average. Would come back, it was nice.
Best BBQ Chicken I ate so far, which includes cost per hunger-meter. If you watched any series, anime or manga then you know that this is the chicken which we searched for
Went 4 times there already, because they have so many different sauces/chicken to try. Its also nice to share different flavors if you can bring other people with you.
Thats if, you arent a loner like me...
At least I saw some other people eating alone as well, which just says how good the chicken and the atmosphere is

Edit: As of now (8.2.23) it is still a good place to eat chicken, but you need to pay quite much for it. Its still affordable, but 32€ per ~15 chicken hurts
Always good experiences, our favorite Korean restaurant in Düsseldorf area.

Basically, you can't eat without a reservation, unless you go in as soon as the store opens. The chicken feet were very spicy, and it was just right to remove some of the chili sauce on it, but the more the soup is boiled, the more spicy it becomes. The fish cakes are very delicious, especially soft and sticky, and the soup is very fresh. The salad dressing with seaweed and rice is a giveaway.

Always passed by and wanted to try the food at this cafe. Today my friend and I decided to eat sushi. The price is good. When we asked for sticks and sauce, they showed us where to get them. After my friend took for us 2 pairs of sticks and 5 fish-style sauces (because they are small), guy in very rudely way told us, that we took too much sauce and we should put them back. After a spoiled mood, we returned the sushi and left. It was’t a problem to pay for the extra sauce, warn the client about his “limits” before ruining his mood.
Food tasted delicious and servants were polite, however there was something wrong with the meal because we got stomach issues after it...

Had dinner around 20 o’clock and ordered food from the menu and NOT the unlimited buffet. Was a little shocked when we sat down and saw the review, but think it is because it is NOT the buffet one so we were quite happy about the food. Everything was ok, except the mandu/gioza which was steamed and too soaked. But the rest was delicious, like the sliced raw beef with peer, bimbimbap, japjae, Korean pancakes, stew beef, unlimited bancha’s (little side dishes like sliced radish, kimchi, spinach), dongpoki, fried chickenwings etc

Popped in on a Tuesday for lunch.. wonderful customer service friendly and not rushed or pushy. The salad bar was fresh, clean and maintained. Lots of nice selections of Korean sides to choose from . Including Kimchi , which i looked very nice, but i skipped on this occasion. The spinach and carrots hit my spot. food was warm and well seasoned with extra spice if desired. Ended my meal with some nice fresh melon, yummy.. There were other desserts to choose from too. It was also possible to cook at the table and all was very tidy. Clean restrooms were an added bonus. Price was reasonable with good size for the main dish . I would definitely go back.

Instead of saying it’s a restaurant, I would rather consider it’s a bar. It’s small and with some bar style graffiti on the wall. It seems popular. I grabbed a bar stool without a reservation. The food came out quick, fresh and delicious. The beef I ordered was tender. It’s a bit pricey for its portion though.
It was my first time to visit a south Korean restaurant. I just found it while walking in the neighbourhood which looked that it had many other Asian restaurants.
The food was great. I was not able to read the German menu so I asked the waiter to recommend me a vegetarian appetisers and beef main meal. Both were delicious, check the photos and ask them for the same if you happen to visit the restaurant :)
We took bento boxes for 10 euros per box for lunch and enjoyed them close to the park Hofgarten. The side dishes were not that great but the bento boxes where really nice.
It was superb experience with Korean food and their culture. At first they served pickles. 🤩 Food was so amazing….
Most incredible thing is you oder your food through their app and it will serve by within few minutes.
True authentic, reasonable price, and for me it was much quality but for Korean mates the quantity was normal.
Also, the first time I saw the ceiling fans in Germany in the Korean House Restaurant..

I really love this place. I'm living in the Netherlands and order groceries regularly from this place because of the excellent quality and delivery service. The food is always good, the service is nice and they respond fast. I even went to dussedorf for groceries shopping sometimes in person!
Appreciate the delivery service even outside of the Germany!
Highly recommend!

very tasty chicken, and good price. Much better than lots Korean restaurants. Highly recommended.

Returned to this bbq Chicken restaurant as we were craving for a proper K(orean)FC. It was a mid-week yet the restaurant was a full house and bustling. I didn't recognise any old staff and clearly the new staff (and could be a new manager?) did their best to cater for their hungry customers. We didn't mind waiting as they gave us heads up on delays (due to many delivery orders). We went for a classic sweet chilli ('secret bbq') chicken and they were VERY TASTY. Unfortunately, pickled radish is now all chargeable but at least the portion is reasonable. I'm glad we gave another try and happy to go back again.

As this is one of well known Korean Fried Chicken brand franchise, taste is authentic and delicious. Where it fails massively is their service level. Korean looking staff behind the counter was most unfriendly and difficult. One evening meal, we asked for radish refills which many Korean chicken speciality places are known for their generosity, here they made it clear they want to charge subsequent refills. I enjoy their Chicken but I'll think twice before putting up with such a poor service.

My go-to place. To get reasonable Korean take away. The place sells fresh meat too. The good thing about this place is staff being super polite, the food packed neatly and clean. The cooked food has bento for lunch and other great Korean dishes. (i have tried a few for Bento, but none could beat this place).

Everything was just fine. We were there first time for buffet around 18 euro per person. Meat are not marinated. The side dishes are average. Nothing bad but also nothing special. Service is friendly and welcoming.
The food here is really delicious with a variety of wonderful korean dishes and drinks! The staff are friendly and very helpful! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cosy and there is the option to sit outside too! 100% worth a visit 😋

Absolutely fabulous Korean butcher. The meat is topnotch and the Korean food to go is fantastic. The bulgogi is incredible, so full of flavour once cooked. All the little salads are delicious, the spicy chicken is melt-in-your-mouth. To top it all off they are the nicest people, so kind and accomodating and often throw in some freebies and are always ready with selection advice and cooking tips. And in English too if required. Best customer service I've encountered since moving to Germany. Other businesses could learn a thing or two. Highly recommended. ❤️

We were on a 1 week trip in Düsseldorf and stayed at a nearby hotel. We went to Food Jung on our 2nd day (They are closed on Mondays) and got kimbab for breakfast. Came back in the afternoon and everyday after to try the varieties of their meals. Everything we had was really delicious. The owner is also very friendly. 사장님이 굉장히 친절하고 음식도 다 아주 맛있었어요. 다음 뒤셀도르프에 가면 또 꼭 갈게요.
The place is quit okay. It is not chic but it is good enough. The staff is very friendly and the service is good. The food is good, authentic but not extraordinary. All in all a good experience.

They have a lot of authentic food and amazingly tasty. They do all freshly made ready- to- eat & ready- to- cook traditional Korean food and very convenient for a single person or housewives who are lazy cooking but love eating. The owner of the shop is very friendly and generous and often give out free side dishes to take away.
