Hmmm… this place used to be much better. Tried their pork ganjjajang. The pork smelled a bit in my mouth and I could taste that the meat is not super fresh. Gganpoonki tasted great. There are definitely much better Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant in the area. Great deal for weekday lunch if you are in the area. I would not make a trip to go back here though.

Delightful casual, no-frills eatery serving phenomenal Korean / Chinese fusion. I came to Jang Won for a late Saturday lunch, so the place was almost completely packed and bustling with everyone from families to high school friend groups. After being warmly welcomed by several Korean aunties, we were ushered to the last available table.
Their menu is quite expansive, with six pages filled with everything from noodles to rice to giant platters of meat and veggies. It felt nearly impossible to choose from the giant list of drool-worthy dishes, but we eventually settled on the classic jjamppong and the tofu dolsat bibimbap. The jjamppong was phenomenal -- it was incredibly flavorful and rich and packed chock-full of various seafood, including mussels, oysters, shrimp, and squid. This classic noodle soup was absolutely deserving of its place as one of Jang Won's specialty dishes. The tofu bibimbap was equally outstanding; I love anything that comes in a dolsat (the hot stone bowls that keeps the food warm and sizzling), and Jang Won did a phenomenal job with theirs. The stone bowl gave the rice at the bottom a great crispy texture, which, alongside the crispy, perfectly fried tofu, contrasted wonderfully with the soft rice and warm soup. I loved the variety of veggies -- including carrots, zucchini, spinach, and gosari namul -- and the combination of the soup and gochujang-based sauce helped to tie the whole dish together. I did think that there was a smidge too much rice compared to other fillings, but it was absolutely delicious.

Can’t believe it took us this long to try this amazing restaurant. My MIL was craving naengmyeon and Han Gang did not disappoint. She loved it so much that we came twice in five days while they were visiting so she could have it again! Every dish we tried was fantastic- naengmyeon, gejang, haemul pajeon, braised monkfish, dolsot bibimbap and kbbq options all impressed. Even more so, we were blown away by the extra attentive service and kindness of the staff here. Thank you so much. We will be back.

A lovely spot for a meal! ☺️
A tiny little building houses a cozy interior. The staff was friendly and sweet and the food came out quickly (and piping hot, which I love!!)
We got the fish cake soup, clam kalguksu, and banquet noodles. I especially recommend the banquet noodles: flavorful broth (even better with the sauce), lots of toppings, and overall very filling for cheap!

- It's a standalone restaurant with its own space and parking lot, located directly opposite K Market.
- The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, including fried foods, soups, noodles, and more.
- The interior has quite a few tables, around 30-40 (seating 4 people per table). There are separate restrooms for men and women.
- I visited on a Saturday evening in early December. There were about 10 tables occupied, and approximately 80% of the customers appeared to be Korean.
[Personal Opinion]
- The atmosphere is more suited for dining, rather than a place with a cozy or aesthetically pleasing ambiance.
- The portion sizes are quite large, and the prices reflect this.
- I ordered Jjamppong, Jjajangmyeon, Japchae, and Khan Pung Ki. Most of the dishes were a bit too sweet for my taste, except for the Jjamppong which had a more balanced flavor.
- The South American staff provided very professional service, constantly paying attention to customers' needs.

Two hungry adults went there on early Friday evening, several Korean locals already there. We ordered their chief special Galbi Jjim. The dish was huge with satisfied beef, very tender and juicy. The sauce was thick, sweet and spicy. We couldn't finish it and packed the rest for tomorrow. The server was also friendly and helped us cut the meat, refilled side dishes and packed leftovers.

Really good Korean restaurant. Tastes authentic and also has really good service. Kalbi & the cold noodle soup was so gooddd.

A nice traditional style Korean restaurant, food is served in a generous portion. Lady servers are very thoughtful and polite.

One of the best Authentic Korean Food in DMV area! I have been coming here for years. Stir fried spicy Squid, gamjatang, pollack spicy soup and their various banchans are my all the time favorites.

Have been here multiple times with always good quality Korean food and good meats. The atmosphere is nice and not too loud so one can converse with friends. Staff is friendly as can be for usual Korean restaurants. Service and food comes out quick if you are in a hurry but you never feel rushed if you want to hang out with friends.

My favorite Korean place. I've had similar dishes at other restaurants, but Jang Won is the best. The photo is the Jae Yook Bokkeum (제육볶음).

The best Galbi in town!
Loved their Mot-nan Pork rib, but now my new favorite is their Korean traditional beef-Galbi ! (Marinated Galbi, not LA Galbi)
No fat in the beef Galbi! & I love it!
So tender, soft, and tasty!
The new management really improved the taste~

Authentic and delicious with welcoming staff. Our family comes here several times a month.

The service was excellent, staff was friendly and attentive. Food was "okay." For AYCE, it isn't a bad option but the Korean side dishes (banchans) are going to disappoint. But as of September 2024, best Korean BBQ option in Annandale, IMO.
The soybean paste stew (doenjang-jjigae) didn't have any flavor, korean steamed egg (gyeran jjim) was nearly inedible (too salty), and corn cheese had a very odd texture. The kimchi and other few sides aren't anything to write home about.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!! They save the side dishes (banchans) that the customers didn’t finish and reuse for other customers!!!! I was beyond shocked and disgusted when I opened my yellow pickled radishes. First off, they looked so dry (that means they’re old). Second off, it had black bean sauce on one of the radishes and a tiny piece of onion on the other piece. I am beyond upset right now and trying to calm myself down before I call the restaurant. Their food is delicious but I’d rather eat the food that was prepared in a clean environment. DISGUSTING!!!

This tiny house has a secret inside

I had high hopes for restaurant but my experience was nothing short of a disaster. First, the delivery took forever—over an hour late—and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and soggy. The portions were ridiculously small for the price, and the quality was terrible.

This is a wonderful authentic spot for Chinese Korean cuisine. It has the best Jajangmyeon I’ve had in the DMV by far. The Tang Suk Yuk was fantastic as well, fried perfectly. Decent prices, excellent selection of soju and beer, and great atmosphere. Will be back soon!

Jokbal and Mak cold noodles are really great. Probably the best Jokbal in DMV

Great to eat various Korean food in DC area. Thought the Galbitang was a bit salty, but quite chill and nice staff with savory food.

We went there for the first time based on a friend's recommendation. As soon as we walked in, I didn't feel good about the attitude of the employee. He had a very indifferent expression and tone. They were consistently unfriendly when serving the food or bringing the check. The food wasn't incredibly delicious, but it was decent."

This Korean restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best in Northern Virginia for its wide variety of traditional Korean dishes and high-quality food. The service is always excellent, making it the perfect place to bring your guests. The food they serve here is comparable to Hanjeongsik. I have visited this restaurant multiple times, and the service has always been top-notch. However, the ambiance feels a bit outdated, and they could benefit from updating the decor to enhance the impressive dining experience for anyone looking for the best Korean dining in the area.

i ordered the original tteokbokki and the portion was good for the price, which was only $9 so pretty cheap compared to other small korean restaurants nearby. next time i probably would’ve tried one of their tteokbokki sets. overall the place is very cozy and the service was friendly and fast!

This is a hidden gem with tasty food and an intimate dining room. Based on the interior design, refrigerated display of packaged Korean food, and the food itself, this place is CLEAN. The food tasted fresh and flavorful and the price is very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back.

Went for dinner because I was craving for stir fried squid and mandu. The restaurant feel homey. I wasn’t expecting it to be this small. They put poster of the dishes on their wall. When I dined there were other parties as well, so it was a bit noisy. But food and service was good. The stir fried squid was a bit too spicy for me (i ordered medium spicy, i think next time i need to do mild), mandu was delish, stir fried pork belly was also too spicy for me (but delicious tho, :)
I got hot tea for drink. Overall it was a pleasant experience:).

I’ve to this place numerous times but the last two visits were not good, and my latest visit sealed the deal for me. Getting there is easy enough and there’s free parking (which I appreciate) but with a focus on food, I’m honestly concerned. I don’t expect stellar service given the type of whole-in-the-wall restaurant that it is, but still... I am fine with the atmosphere being what it is but the last two times I felt the quality of the food has declined significantly. The bon chons (little vegetable dishes) aren’t the same and some of them don’t taste right. While I usually get spicy pork bulgogi, I tried the cutlet and found it fine. My wife had a soup with beef and lots of vegetables, and my son had pork belly to make wraps. The sad part is when we were done, he asked for a box to take the rest. The owner literally put the plate of vegetables on his meat, took it somewhere to box it, and then didn’t even pack his vegetables. So a plate on the table was on his meat that was packed. I’m questioning the cleanliness of this place and won’t be back.
I’ll go back but my last trip (last night for dinner) was weird. While every other visit was great, this one was a turn off. We got seated quickly but asked 3 times to get our order before they came. And when the food arrived, the flavors were very bland and unimpressive. If it was my first time there I would have been done but I’ll give them this as an off night. For seating, expect it to be very low key. Not somewhere to go to impress a date. I always get the spicy pork bulgogi and my wife always gets kalbi.

The food here is very comforting, tasty, and warming. It feels like home cooked food. The portion sizes are very big. My dish was enough to feed two people. The fried dumplings were really good. The food was fresh. The staff is very friendly and kind. The prices for the portion are really good.
This restaurant is very unassuming from the outside. It is a very small building and from the outside it doesn't look like there's much room for seating, but as you step inside you will see there are plenty of tables to sit at. The interior is old and could use new paint, but it is comfy and has a relaxed atmosphere, as if you are eating at a friend's house. There is a parking lot outside the restaurant.

I thought this was a Korean BBQ restaurant, but it turn out to be Korean Chinese. The food are fresh and delicious. Portions are large here and can be shared with 3 to 4 people. Services are excellent. All the food was very delicious and priced reasonably. The spicy seafood noodles soup and Sweet and Sour pork are my favorite.

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and immediately see an old man cutting a ton of beautiful fresh peppers on the counter... and that was the vibe of the whole meal. We were the only ones there, and it very much felt like we were being served by someone's Korean grandparents. We ordered way too much food and everything was so delicious, especially the pork buns. You can really taste the care and pride they obviously put in. I can't say enough good things.

This is my go-to place when I crave for taste of Korean street food or a casual eating out.
Their Kimbap is delicious with a auntie-made touch. Nothing fancy, just authenticity.
I also love their seafood pancake and all the sides. The service is warm and friendly.

No BBQ in the table place. All the meats already cooked in the kitchen and you just warm them up on the table only.
Bummer!
Ori roast was $64 per order.

Nice korean comfort food hideaway that seats about 30 max. Good sized portions and flavorful. Plenty of parking & there is an outside elevator for handicap access. I had the kimbap & steamed dumplings.

Great Korean street food! The sampler platter let’s you try a bunch of things and is very freshly made. Will keep coming back!

Korean bunshik or casual food . food is great, the service leaves a lot left to be desired.
the udon noodles are a sharing portion with just bit of spice , Kimbaps are also good.

Food is quite good. Decent amount of food with good flavor. The service can be a bit slow. They mustve not turned on the heat because it as freezing in there

Amazing service and food. I don't know why this place has less than 5 stars! It's very difficult to go out to eat with infants, but the manager was soooooo accommodating and helpful. They have a private room for reservations and a separate section for big parties. They have dividers between tables, and each person gets their own set of side dishes.

We really enjoyed this place. We had the spicy pork, marinated chicken BBQ, fried dumplings, squid, and a Bibimbap. All were very good. Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place. UPDATE: We went back again. I also tried the Kimchee soup. It was very good and service was great.

Our main reason for choosing Han Gang was so one of our group could get her favorite seafood and scallion pancake that she's talked about for years. Manager Linda and server Olivia were very attentive and, with our two Korean friends, helped choose a varied and delicious selection of dishes that we all loved. For quality and service, Han Gang can't be beat. And we were all surprised that our feast was only $23 each, including tax and gratuity.

Price on the higher side of Korean restaurants in Annandale but great place to bring guest, or if you want a less hustling and bustling restaurant. The food portions are also very big and love the pumpkin soup before the meal
surprisingly good dduk bokki (spicy rice cake) , excellent kimchi, crispy seafood pancake and naengmyun (cold beef noodle soup)
omg the new spicy braised short ribs (spicy kalbi Jim) , sooooo good. portion was very big compared to the non spicy one ($50 vs. $70) . it had onions, rice cake , ear mushroom , radish, carrots and LOT'S of short ribs more than plenty for two.
Simply the best ! Spicy kalbi Jim & haemul tang (large seafood soup to share) sooo good

Not homestyle cooking so much as sort of fast/street food. Excellent tteokbokki and kimbap, my favorite to order when I'm in the mood. The tteokbokki actually has some spice to it unlike many I've ordered at other restaurants. I'm also quite partial to the tempura, which gives you a nice selection of sweet potatoes, pumpkin, onions, imitation crab, and more.
If I'm just ordering for myself, I tend to get kimbap (tuna, cheese, or spam) and tteokbokki, although that's really too much food for me. If I'm in a group, tteokbokki and the Holic sampler tends to be the best option. I'm not the biggest fan of soondae (or any cuisine's blood sausages) so I've usually asked them to sub it for something else and they've been accommodating but I wouldn't fault them if they stopped.
I noticed last time I was in that they now offer some take home soups/stews and banchan like a mini market, which is very nice.
The store itself is somewhat hard to find. It's in the downstairs portion of the building so not very visible from the street. The parking lot is small and right next to the parking lot for the 9292 complex, although not connected for some reason- there's a fence between them.
Highly recommend.
