I’ve been training at Prepare for Performance gym during my off-seasons, and it’s been an incredible experience. The program helped me improve my speed and strength while also strengthening my ankle after an injury. Julian even got me connected with a soccer coach while I was home for the summer, so I was able to have a team to train during my collegiate off-season.The staff genuinely cares about each athlete’s progress and tailors their approach to help you achieve your goals. Highly recommend for anyone serious about improving their performance!

Julian and his team did a great job of preparing me for my season. The workouts were specific to my sport and after some time I could notice my speed strength and other aspects of my game improving. They also focus a lot on injury prevention which helps me a lot.

I have been seeing Justin at RPT for several months and have had made great strides in my health care goals. Justin is professional and engaging. The studio is well equipped and the work-outs are varied so you are not doing the same work-out routine time after time.

I can't say enough amazing things about Prepare for Performance, its owner, Julian, and the fantastic staff there. I am currently recovering from a shoulder injury, specifically a torn AC joint, and after extensive physical therapy, I reached a point where I needed to transition to a gym that could help rehabilitate my injury through personalized training. I wanted professional guidance to ensure I wouldn't reinjure myself.
Although I am quite familiar with the gym and lifting weights, my job as a nurse in a busy ICU is quite physical, which increases my risk of reinjury without proper conditioning. I didn't feel comfortable returning to the gym to work on regaining my upper body strength and conditioning alone. That’s when I found Julian and Prepare for Performance.
During our phone conversation, I found him to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly, patient and understanding. He answered all my questions clearly and encouraged me to come to the gym for a one-on-one consultation, which then transitioned into a trial. Since that first visit, I've been fully committed to my recovery by working with Julian and his team, and I haven’t looked back.
I have been a member for just over two months, and to say my strength and range of motion have improved significantly is an understatement. When I first started with the team, my strength and range of motion were limited, and I could barely lift more than 5 pounds. But now I can do full-body pushups, overhead presses, lateral raises, planks (high to low), bear crawls, sled pushes, and band-assisted pull-ups—the whole shebang. None of this would have been possible on my own in such a short time. Julian curates fantastic group personal training programs every month that encompasses not just power, strength, agility, and mobility but also weightlifting with correct form and technique, isolating muscle groups and enabling you to focus on progressive overload.
The small group setting allows trainers to walk through and correct form while motivating you to push yourself harder than you would alone.
The trainers, Aubrey, Joe, Craig, and Evan, are always hands-on, carefully monitoring my form to ensure I execute every exercise with proper technique, which is especially important when recovering from an injury. They’ve been flexible with my progress as well, adjusting my workouts as my shoulder improves and keeping me challenged without pushing me too hard too soon. They listen to me, and I listen to my body.
The atmosphere here is supportive and positive. Everyone, from the staff to the other clients, creates a motivating environment that makes you want to show up. I never feel judged, and the trainers are always available to answer questions or provide guidance if I need it.
Thanks to their help, I’m finally seeing real progress. I’ve regained strength and mobility in my shoulder that I honestly thought would have taken longer. I still have a ways to go, but I feel confident in my recovery, and I have the team to thank.

My 9 yo son has been going to PFP for 6 months now and he loves his training sessions. He's a soccer player and I think he can see improvement in his agility and strength. More importantly he's learning to take care of his body and hopefully creating healthy habits that will last a lifetime. We love the flexibility of the class schedule too.

My boys (12 and 14) started going to PFP once a week since September and have benefited tremendously! They look forward to each session and have felt stronger and more explosive since joining. Everyone at PFP is great, well prepared, and fully engaged each session. Great decision to have joined!

My son has been training at Prepare For Performance (PFP) for the past two months, and he absolutely loves it! The program focuses on improving speed, agility, and overall strength, and we’ve already started to see results. He enjoys it so much that he’s had two friends join him for training, and he would go even more if his schedule allowed. The staff have been great, and it’s clear they care about helping the kids reach their full potential. Highly recommend for anyone looking to boost performance and confidence!

I’m very glad I joined PFP! I thought the two week trial period was very generous and it gave me ample time to try out a number of classes and meet the instructors. The small class sizes make every class feel like a personal training session. The instructors take the time to demonstrate proper form and they monitor us closely to ensure safety and personal growth. The classes are challenging and never boring!! Come and see for yourself!

We went for our first complementary class and did arrive 25 mins early instead of 30 mins early. It took us a little bit of time to find parking, which i mentioned as soon as I got in. When there we waited for additional 8-10 mins before anyone would talk to us other than saying hello. We weren’t allowed to do our free class as apparently we were ‘“late”. We called the Potomac OT as soon as we got to our car. And they offered to have us in their next class. We said we won’t be able t get there 30 mins early they said it’s fine! Potomac OT scheduled us for a class gave us a tour and were wonderful! Another fun fact my friend tried to buy a water bottle as a gift for us, and she wasn’t allowed to buy it as she isn’t a member. Kept her waiting for 15 mins before telling her that. Needless to say we will NEVER go to this OT establishment unless they change the front desk staff. I’m sure the classes are good, but the front desk ppl are just awful. I would love to say it’s not cz how we look, but I definitely felt like we were being treated differently because of how we look.

Rockville is not my home studio but I'm always warmly welcomed & greeted kindly. I love that this studio class times are different than Park or Bethesda- provides good alternatives. The studio is well kept - clean and equipment is always in good condition.

If you are African American DO NOT GO. They do NOT want your business. And don’t deserve to have it. Despite being the First person to arrive for class more than 15 minutes prior to start time, and having submitted the forms online, the front desk, Chloe and Shana, refused to allow me in class. They said they needed more time to “get to know me better.” I was a member at OTF for years pre-pandemic and was considering rejoining. Not after how I was treated. NO ONE called nor did they send any text message or email stating that if I was not there more than 30 minutes prior to class that I would be refused admission. No one class participants were at the studio when I arrived. They had ample time to “get to know me.” Upon seeing me, however, they decided to decline my entrance and admission to class. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

During peak hours to many people hog the equipment for too long so you gotta switch it up and fast before someone takes over your plan b workout but overall big and spacious and lots of options to choose from

Good location with many parking. Usual planet fitness located on second floor. Black card zone is nice and looks private. Receptionists are very friendly. Gym area is good. Restrooms are ok, but water pressure in faucets is really poor and difficult to wash hands 🙌

The actual gym is fine with good employees and clean areas. My biggest gripe is that there is simply no room to lift weights and there is never enough equipment. It doesn't help that the weight lifting area is always packed with people from 12pm to 12am but with only 3 bench presses, 1 set of dumbbells, 1 set of curl bars, and maybe 4 benches... expect to wait and be hovering over the equipment you want because other people want it also on top of the other patrons using the equipment. This gym is way too small for the population its trying to serve... I say this after coming from a different planet fitness in the state that in comparison is 3x-4x bigger. As much as I want to stay with PF, I have to leave. I want to lift weights without jockeying for equipment and people breathing down my neck...

I’ve tried different gyms and doing it on my own but this has been the best experience I’ve had. I’m more consistent due to Elad’s flexibility and feel like I’m getting stronger. Highly recommended.

This location is absurdly busy. While this location does have a pretty large parking lot it is still consistently 80% full and the people that go here just do not pay attention in the parking lot. Be very careful. In addition it is hard to get a decent workout in because they do not have enough equipment for the number of people that come.

I signed up for the 7 day free trial and ended up going every single day out of pure enjoyment! This place is amazing! The instructors are wonderful and talented. Looking forward to becoming a member.

Justin is a great trainer. I’ve trained with him for two years and feel stronger in every part of my body. You work out there one on one, which is much better than using a trainer in a commercial gym. He is able to customize a work out for any body type and he trains people of all ages.

(Summary at bottom v) Whole experience was good, and very fun. There are basically like two parts to the park; The trampolines, and the obstacle courses. With the trampolines, there is dodgeball, a joust (which is a fight on a pole with both participants having foam poles), free jump, basketball hoops, and a flip pit (which is a trampoline next to a soft pillow like material, and you jump or flip into it). The employees were pretty nice, and were chill. The entry cost was a little pricey though. They make you pay for water, unless you drink from the water fountain. I recommend bringing your own water.
Summary:
The place is pretty good, with lots of activities. Is a little expensive though, so to save some money(if you don't want the obstacle courses), just go to the Sky Zone 15 minutes away.

The parking here is terrible if you're here on the weekend. The only way to go here and not have to fight for a spot , is on a weekday.

1st time at PF. Normally I go to LA Fitness. However, beautiful clean gym. The staff actually cleans the equipment. A major plus. But the reason for my 3 stars, not enough fans. Gets hot quickly. Lack of equipment if you're focusing on toning. Lots of treadmills, stairmasters, cardio equipment. Area with the dumbbells is very small. If you're focusing on toning, it's better to come in the middle of the night. But a very nice gym.

I have been working out with Elad for five years now. I look forward to the workouts and consider it money well spent. Elad’s got a nice, clean, and private space and a fun, friendly, and supportive demeanor that helps you attack your goals - whatever they might be. Elad has proven himself to be trustworthy, reliable, and very knowledgeable about his craft. He’s helped me reach personalized fitness goals, lift heavier than ever before, and feel good about what my body is capable of doing!

I have been training with Elad and his methods have helped me gain and maintain core strength and also leg/thigh balance that was reduced by various lower body injuries. To add to it, I am gaining some upper body strength as well. Elad taught me useful techniques that I can apply on my own when not in training. That said, it really helps to have him correct some of the exercises while I am there. Elad has deep knowledge of both musculo-skeletal and cardio exercises and has also had experience recovering from injuries. He showed me different variations of exercises that I have used to great effect. He is also very personable and easy going. His facility is clean, orderly and it is a great place to train with a small group of friends and family. A good way to spend an hour to become healthier and stronger.

I started working with Elad after I had my two kids and I had been mostly sedentary for the last few years. I felt old and unsure I could get past some injuries, aches and pains. Elad’s workouts were a perfect fit in terms of getting me active and moving again. He is extremely knowledgeable and had a lot of new exercises for me to try. His ability to listen and adjust workouts to your goals is a rare thing to find among the trainers and coaches I’ve worked with. He is genuinely invested in your success and very attentive to tracking your before and after stats. After about 9 weeks training with him, I felt great improvements in my strength, range of motion, and overall mobility. I have recommended him to other family members because I see the time spent training with him as a worthwhile investment!

I’ve been going to this place for a bit now I can tell you all that it’s such a wonderful environment. Everyone is so kind, attentive and considerate. I’ve personally never taken a class before but my friends have told me that the coaches are amazing. Unfortunately as I am moving I will no longer be able to attend but Daniel at the front, super kind and patient, even helped me cancel my membership when I wasn’t able to access it. Highly recommend for anyone of any age!

I joined ReachOn Fitness around 4 months ago and I can already see a difference. I getting a lot stronger and see a difference in the mirror. Elad is great, he is really good at pushing you and motivating you during your workout. He also gives tips on nutrition to make sure you are keeping up with at home. He is really kind and you can truly see how passionate he is and he wants to see you succeed. I would recommend everyone to him!

At $248/month for a family of four, which doesn't include equipment rental fees, a membership at Movement is expensive and really only grants you access to climbing. You still have to pay for climbing instruction. The cardio/weight room is small and inadequately equipped. The fitness classes are few and far between. All in all, there isn't enough value here to justify a membership.

Overall, it is a good facility to entertain kids. Wish the open hours would go longer, at least during summer break season. The staffs look young (high school or uni students?) and they are usually busy with talking among themselves and not taking care of users. Honestly, the stigma of planet fitness being a bad gym is completely inaccurate. Especially the price. If I was always a teenager that could work out for free over the summer, I would give this place a 5/5 completely recommend. The only downside is the place only having smith machines and not a bench press or squat rack. I've never heard the lunk alarm go off and the staff is friendly.

I was at a class this evening at the Rockville studio and was a victim of theft. All seemed normal leading up to class. Keep in mind there is no front desk associate ever present (the coach checks attendees in), so during the class, the individual was able to rummage through not only my things but also someone else’s. 4 cards (debit and credit) and $6,000 later, I was getting fraud alerts and calls from my husband. Not worried so much about the money, but fact that my peace of mind is gone. They need to figure out 2 things. 1. How to improve security 2. How to vet out attendees that do not clearly belong. The coach was nice about it, but didn’t really do much (again emphasis on the fact that they need to improve their security or procedures). I was trying to get out as fast I could feeling so uncomfortable. Absolutely ridiculous. I now am and forever will be so uncomfortable about this place. Will never be back.

I joined OTF Rockville South in October 2021. My cardio endurance and muscle strength have greatly improved since then. I love that the workout template changes every day, and I really enjoy the signature workouts and monthly challenges. There is ample parking available at this location, which I greatly appreciate compared to other studios I’ve visited. All of the sales associates are wonderful and always willing to answer questions, especially Amanda and Chloe. My favorite coaches at this location (Sheina, Teri, and Sean) do a great job at explaining the templates, demoing exercises, pushing/motivating you through the workout, and supporting your fitness goals. If you’re on the fence about joining like I initially was, remember that YOU decide how intense your workout is, the coaches are simply there to guide and encourage you. In addition, there are multiple pricing options to accommodate essentially any budget.

As of now, this is my favorite climbing gym in Maryland. They have a lot of good climbing services that give a good collection of challenges for all types of climbers. The route setting is amazing. The 5.11s felt accurate for indoor climbing levels. There are many routes set up, so you will never run out of climbs.

Great workout and great people. I have been going to OTF Rockville South since October 2021. I have loved cardio for a long time, but struggled to do strength or weight training on my own. This place has been perfect for me, because it combines both. Never before have I done such consistent strength and weight training.
I also really appreciate that I haven't heard any of the trainers or front desk staff promoting unhealthy eating habits and I believe this place is welcoming of fitness at any size. Gyms and wellness places can get toxic, so I love this place for supporting everyone.

Just opened yesterday and already it is my favorite Planet Fitness Branch. Great layout of equipment and lots of light. They have an excellent Black Card Spa, and super-friendly staff. I could hang out here all day.

I guess I am the only one who doesn't love it, but I am also one of very few I have seen over the age of 50 years old so, hmmmm.
To outline my experience, there is only one class for beginners and you are not supposed to do that one once you sign up. This is, in my opinion, a bit of a bait and switch. Once you have committed to pay, there are no more classes that provide any real explanation. You are expected to know how to do it.
Modifications are rarely mentioned so clearly the expectation is that everyone be a skinny expert that is already completely fit.
This is really unfortunate because this is exactly the type of workout an older woman who needs to work on strength and flexibility should take, but it is too difficult and there are no levels to the classes where you can build up and get better. Trying to learn and improve in a class geared to people who are already strong and already able to complete each move with minimal difficulty, is very disheartening and demotivating.
I am a confident and successful business woman who has been through menopause and was looking for something to improve and maintain my strength and flexibility as I age. I am 58 years old and 148 pounds which, while not young and thin, is also not old and obese.
I have left class more than once with my self esteem shattered and feeling like an old, fat, uncoordinated cow.
With the exception of Inna, who is amazing and kind and takes the time to explain and provide modifications, the rest of the instructors, while very nice, clearly are only interested in the thin and fit regulars who already know the moves and routines.
On top of that, many of the classes are offered for people who must not have full time day jobs. The times for the classes must be for students, stay at home moms or part time workers. The majority are during the day and the latest starts at 6:30.
I am very sad
this did not work out because I really need it, as do many other women in my age range and older.
It really would be a benefit. It is unfortunate that it is really geared more to the young and already fit.

I was surprised when they said kids needs to keep their outside shoes to play inside. They provide a pair of socks but it is only for trampoline. Not clean. GREAT PLACE FOR PLAY but I won't go back. It's not clean. Also parking is was a hassle on Saturday!

Our family had a book-a-climb today. Basically a coach will help you put on the harness and guide you to different rock climbing sites. Brian was a very good coach. He accompanied us the whole time, patient, and focused, and made sure we were safe and had fun. Overall a very good experience!

I started training with Justin because the Army came out with new PT standards called the ACFT (deadlifts, sprint drag carry, hand release triceps push ups, power throws, and more) and not surprisingly, I had trouble passing some of these events as a petite, non-athletic female. In less than 4 months after training weekly with Justin, I went from being able to do zero triceps push ups to now being able to do 10 (minimum for passing), and from being able to throw only 3.5 meters to now over 4.5 meters. I’m glad to report that the last diagnostic ACFT I took, I passed! If you need results, Justin is the one. He is very knowledgeable but approachable and he will work with you toward your goals, whatever they may be. He is also very flexible with his schedule. There were several occasions I had to reschedule last minute because of my busy work schedule as a fellow (physician), and Justin was very accommodating. Well worth your time and money!!

Pure Barre offers an effective methods to get fit, strong and sculpted. The owner and staff of the Rockville Franchise are a total class act and have created a friendly comfortable atmosphere. The instructors are very experienced and work with all class members to maximize technique and the benefit of the exercise. Beyond the mechanics, the classes are fun and the owner and staff continue to set up inventive ways to challenge yourself.

Nice time, dont have to do it again. Came for the high rope course personally. It was fun but takes less than 40 mins for adults. They have trampolines, rock climbing, parent zone for some quiet. The parking will be gone on a busy day.

i have been a pure barre member since 2016 and am still so thankful for this studio! the work out is challenging, and i continue to see results, even after 6 years! most importantly, the staff and the other pure barre students make up the most encouraging and fun community, and it really has been my favorite part about living in the rockville area. you will make friends and you will gain strength and confidence! 10/10 would recommend

First time visitor and fell in love! My kids loved it and were wore out after. Things for all ages to include adults who aren't participating in any activities.
Definitely recommend intrusive parenting to ensure safety of the little children. Also, at no fault to the facility staff, there were a few rude or inattentive parents. But thankfully encountered way more friendly people then not.
Overall, great atmosphere and family friendly. Would recommend for a last minute weekend plan or rainy day activity.

Orange Theory Rockville got me back into working out after working out from home lost its motivation and fun for me! It was so great to be back in a class environment and I finally feel like me again. I love that every class is what you make it - you can choose to push yourself in different areas and all levels including showing up are encouraged. Coaches Sheina and Lucinda are amazing, and the whole staff couldn't be nicer. So glad I found this little community!

UPDATE from 2024: I still love OTF Rockville South as much as I did the day I joined in 2021. It's the best way to get a complete workout and achieve well-rounded fitness with just a bite-sized time commitment. The coaches and staff at OTF Rockville South are all amazing, especially the regular afternoon/weekend coaches Teri, Sheina, and Sean. The studio is also well-managed - whenever anything breaks down, they fix it as quickly as they can. This is literally the first time in my life I've ever stuck with a fitness routine for more than a year and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon.

And even though I am not able to perform all the reps of all the exercises just yet, they structure the workouts in a way that challenges everyone without discouraging anyone regardless of fitness level. So I can already see myself improving greatly in the future.
The team at Orangetheory Fitness Rockville South are all energetic, positive, and encouraging. I've already made a few new friends among the other attendees, and even though there is a sense of camaraderie, there's also a sense of everyone doing their own thing throughout the workouts, especially once everyone is coming and going between the rowers and floor exercises at different paces/times.

Very very spacious! So many courses to choose from. I was only there for a birthday party so not sure how pricing is any requirements for some of thr courses. Pretty cool place. There are massages chairs and sofas for adults to sit. Water fountains available

Kids (aged 5-11) had a great time! Excellent variety of apparatus (small climbing wall, obstacle course, via ferrata, pugil sticks, many trampolines, and more).

I highly recommend the Pure Barre-Twinbrook studio! I recently moved to the Rockville area from DC and was able to sign up for a new member benefit in which I received a month of unlimited classes for $89. This benefit gave me the chance to try out several different class times and instructors. Each class is challenging in a motivating way, the instructors are extremely positive, and the class flies by. I felt welcomed and comfortable from the start. The studio is very nice with reasonable class sizes and easy parking.

If you are looking for a low impact way to work out. Pure Barre was a great way to go! If you are afraid to start a new class, reach out to the instructors, for a trial class! I really enjoy the classes because they are fun and are low impact movements, to help strengthen your muscles, which is exactly what I was looking for! each class is somewhat small so the instructors really focus on your movements and will help correct you. I like how personable and nice each instructor is!

Pure Barre is absolutely a must try if you are into barre or just want to try it out for the first time. I've searched for a group exercise studio around my area for so long and I'm so glad I found this place. The instructors and receptionist are very friendly and helpful. They will make sure you have the best experience and bring out the best in you. Every class I have taken at Pure Barre has been wonderful and full of challenges. I just really like this place and I'll continue to go back.

Great experiences climbing here! The staff is great, the vibe is chill, and facility is clean. It is safe and people are courteous. There are a variety of different climbing paths for different skill levels. The bouldering is fun as well. It's not the largest climbing gym in the area, but definitely offers a great space and nice facilities.

I very much enjoy going to Pure Barre Twinbrook. The studio is clean, hygenic, and organized. The staff and trainers are very friendly and positive, always helping to correct posture to make sure we are getting the most out of the workout. There are a lot of classes options throughout the day so the classes are not full which makes it nice. Even when the classes are at full capacity, there is room to exercise comfortably. In addition, Pure Barre has toned muscles I never knew I had and strengthened my core. I highly recommend this studio and the exercise!

Just started Pure Barre to get ready for my wedding in a couple months and I already love the classes! They offer a wide range of exercises that can be modified to start and work your way to a more intense and challenging workout which is great knowing it wont get old! The teacher is constantly walking around and helping make sure you are using the correct form to get the most out of your workout which is great! Loving barre and excited to continue!

Justin has been my personal trainer for the past several years. I find him to be extremely knowledgable about his profession. He is most personable, and is a positive fixture in the gym, always praising and encouraging me, sensitive to my strengths, weaknesses, and moods. He has gained my trust, as I believe he has my best interests at heart. My body has definitely benefitted from his workouts.

For example, I had to have an invasive procedure on my shoulder.Thanks to Justin, he referred me to an excellent physiotherapist who identified the issues and treated me address the problem. This eliminated going through an unnecessary procedure.
