Dirty, cheap mattresses, made my sister in law pay to go in and watch her kid swim while she held her new born, property owners clearly don't put any money back into the property. Have a back ache from their $50 mattresses, come here with low expectations and you'll be fine. This place does not provide the value that would expect from paying $200 a night. The best part about it, apart from the swim area, was the lady that cooked breakfast, she was very friendly. Buckets in the hallway, unfinished projects and just lots of TLC needed. Littles will like it, but don't expect the money you pay to reflect upon the service and amenities this place offers. They know you are forced to use this place if you don't want to drive to the cities or if you're coming to Duluth and want the kids to come swim. This place was just ok..

Love that it's indoors. Fast easy service. Pizza was so delicious 😋. Hot tub was actually hot. I find it weird though that the lazy river you have yo have a float. Most places we walk or swim it. Good though that there are enough floats. 1 tube ride or double ride and 1 no tube slide ride, both great. Splash area for youngsters and also another area with a whirlpool and basketball fun and a lilypad crossing. We had a fabulous time.

I have never written a review before. I will never go back to this place. The beds are very uncomfortable. The rooms are very outdated. Your key never works and have to go all the way downstairs to front desk to get a new key everytime you plan to leave your room and coming back. The waterpark was the worst experience I have ever had. First of all the hours are only from 5 pm to 10 pm and 8 am to 10 am and it's 20 a ticket. Big cost
My daughter who is 7 and has 2 years of swimming lessons. She knows how to swim. The lifeguard for whatever reason didn't think she was safe to swim without a life jacket. I told them she was just fine. I was standing right next to the area she was swimming the whole time or another family member was. She was just fine swimming she loves going under the water and does this head bobbing thing. Anyways we got kicked out because I refuse to put a life jacket on her. She hates them and truly doesn't need them. I could see if a life guard had to jump in to save her then I wouldn't had any issues putting one on her but no one had to jump in for her and there was always an adult near by watching her. I am so upset on how I was treated at this waterpark. The lifeguards were very rude and disrespectful . My family and I will never come back to this place.

Focused for families. There is no housekeeping service while there unless specific need. You have to place the used laundry and the garbage out your door. They place new laundry on a bag outside your door if you're not in the room. Still have COVID distance rules in place for the elevators. Free coffee is not good. Only 1 voucher per stay, not daily.
Pool open 5PM to 10PM for 20 bucks plus extra 2 hours the next day 8 to 10AM.
Tgey won't sell a pass for 8 to 10 AM and 5 to 10 PM the same day. Did not check rates for 8 to 10 AM. Only.
Hotel beds not comfortable.
They do offer discount tickets for attractions and a train to Bentlyville On Thurday And Saturday Evenings.

This place is definitely a rip off. I paid over $500 for a dirty room and no tickets are included. The Waterpark is only open from 8-10am and 5-10pm. I’d go to any other hotel with a pool and have way more fun. I will never come back. In fact I didn’t get to even go into the water park as my 3 year old was too tired and cranky by 5 pm. I’m so upset at the price and waste of money. OT recommended. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Lots if fun. Staff are a little confused when it comes to using the bracelets at the Waterpark but easy to deal with. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Water is a decent temperature and the hottub is actually hot.

I don't even want to wait until the end of my stay to write a review. The room's AC was not working, the location is near nothing, and the gym saw better days like 10 years ago. When I got here, I noticed new signage because Best Western I'm pretty sure just dumped the hotel it is so bad.

*Rooms* were a little outdated, beds were ok but definitely well used and old. One blanket was clearly not switched out because it had some stuff on it. We had a balcony room which viewed Lake Superior and it was absolutely beautiful! Only thing is that the balcony door was just a regular door and not like a sliding one. Didn't like that the balcony didn't have a closed barrier either from the next room so it was a little awkward. I could see if it was an adjoining room (which had a closed barrier to and from) and shared same balcony area but it wasn't.
*Service* was more than welcoming and professional. Staff was polite, informed and informative on any destinations in the area that we'd like to see during our stay. The food and kitchen staff were above and beyond! A must for us! Cheap prices and fulfilling. Water Park was a hit for sure. Boyfriend and kids loved it!
*Location* is perfect. It's right on the edge of the lake. Well, I mean, the highway and some nice homes were between the hotel and the Lake but we use the fan to block out any noise anyway so that wasn't an issue for us.

The water park was excellent! The pools and pool areas were very clean, they have lifeguards on duty which is nice when you have little ones. Our teenager loved the water slides and the hot tub was amazing! The arcade was super fun, but most games cost $1, so you burn through money pretty quick. Our room was clean, nothing special which is fine since we spent most of our time in the water park. They also have a fun mini golf area, and complimentary s’mores kits at night that our family loved! It was the perfect little getaway for our family!

Based on the reviews and description on the Choice app I was expecting an older but comfortable midscale hotel. In reality it’s closer to an Econo Lodge.
The room itself was basically unchanged from when the hotel was built as a Country Inn in 1995. It was clean and comfortable except for the tub that didn’t drain, the filthy windows and the overwhelming smell of Febreze. I did like that the king room was basically a suite with a separate seating area.
The rest of the hotel however is in severe disrepair. The breakfast and front desk areas were disorganized and sloppy. The hot tub was closed and apparently regularly is, based on the semi-temporary “out of order” sign. The pool bathroom was absolutely nasty. The sauna was repurposed as a chemical storage room. The business center? That’s breakfast storage now.
The service was transactional and it was hard to tell who worked there, because the employees were all dressed in extremely casual street clothes.
I’m admittedly a bit picky so yes, this hotel would just fine as a place to crash. But it’s pricier than the budget motels in town and I’m not sure it’s worth it. It needs a lot of work if it’s going to be a Sleep Inn and it doesn’t appear any of this has been completed.

Overall a nice hotel, well worth the price paid for it. The pool area was warm, and the kids had a blast. Not many gluten free options for breakfast, however we are used to that so we bring options for our child who is celiac.

My friends and I had a great experience here! We just stayed one night, but the beds were comfy, the room was clean, and we had everything we needed. My favorite part was the breakfast in the morning. Although it was a typical hotel breakfast, I really appreciated the variety of options and the name brand items.

When I booked this hotel, all I saw was the 3.9 star rating and didn't even give it a second thought. I travel alot for work and stay at hotels at least 50% of the year, so I am usually pretty good at picking out a decent one on the internet with the work budget I have. Usually anything over a 3.5 is decent and though I have never stayed at this particular hotel, I have stayed at many in Duluth and have only really had one bad experience (save that poor excuse of a waterpark which I will not mention by name).
When I got to this hotel, I immediately began to worry as the sign in the front was a makeshift one, which to me meant construction, dust, and inconvenience, but I still did not let it deter me. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and accomodating and got me situated quickly.
Once I was done there, I went up to my room to make sure it was clean and to turn on the air condition so it was nice and cool by the time I got my luggage in there and began to settle down. As far as I could tell it was nice and tidy and the air condition unit appeared to work quite well (bells all around!). So I got my luggage and other things and returned to my room.
Now, I don't write reviews often, but I felt obligated to because when I finally got settled in, I decided to look at the reviews for this hotel. I have no idea why, I was pleased, but I did notice the place was quite empty and for a nice and affordable hotel, I found that strange. Much to my suprise, most the recent reviews, were not only bad, but horrible, really, really horrible.
I know this hotel has changed ownership at least once in the last three months and is now under the Choice brands, which, even though in the past that has been hit-or-miss, recently they have really raised their game. I stay at Choice almost exclusively now, mainly because I feel they are the best for your buck and the rewards program is very reasonable.
It's pretty clear this hotel has had a renovation and it looks great, I also did not see any of the bugs that were reported in other reviews. It was clean overall, the pool and spa were very clean and well-kempt. The beds and pillows were comfy as well.
The only negatives I will say about this place is they need to make sure to remove all the paint tape from the rooms and everyone else (the pool area for one) and the breakfast is nothing to write home about. The paint tape doesn't really bother me, but it does make the place look sloppy. The breakfast needs work, the eggs and sausage were overcooked and rubbery and the coffee was watery.
Despite that, I will definitely stay here again. The staff was nice and they left me alone, which is something I greatly appreciate. If you have stayed here in the past and have had a negative experience, I encourage you to try it again, it is obvious that it has recently gone under a transformation for the better.

Horrible experience. Started out at check in when I was quoted 320 for one room and one night and they told me it was 366. Excuse was the person who booked my room forgot to tellme about tax. We got a hot tub suite and it was broke. Also the toilet was leaking. After 25 min of staff coming in and out they put us in another room. Which.we found put quickly that the key cards didn't work. Then the heat lamp over hot tub came on and off on its own. In the middle of the night it came on all by itself. Then when in shower at 830 am the next morning, staff tried coming in the room and would have if it wasn't for us flipping on the extra latch on door. They wanted to know when we were checking out. I guess we never got put in the system for the new room. When I went to front desk to talk with a Manger, a very defensive employee stated there was nothing he can do about our concerns. Also he very rudely stated no Manger on duty, even though the sign clearly stated Manger on duty with a name. He told us we would get a call the next morning from the manager. We waited 2 days with no call. I called the hotel and got the Excuse that Manger was in a meeting but I would be reimbursed for the full price of room. That was another lie. We waited another week and kept checking our card. We we only credited 150 of the 366 dollar room. Never again! I feel very neglected as a customer of this establishment.
