Very nice boutique hotel, would stay here again and recommend to others. Excellent rooftop views. Beautifully designed modern, industrial design in a heritage building. Location makes getting to see all the sites in the historic centre very easy. Their go-to driver for airport transfers, Freddy, was wonderful and pricing is comparable/reasonable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We were provided a map with recommendations for sites and food and this did not disappoint at all. We felt our trip was fulfilled with the restaurants we hit on the list. Sound travels in the hotel easily, but guests recognize this and are generally very quiet to not disturb others.

If I could, I would give this hotel TEN stars. I have never felt so comfortable at a hotel. NO solicitation (for tours or whatever), attentive&KIND staff, good breakfast, excellent public areas to lounge in - I'd like to return to Quito just to stay here again.

Fantastic hotel, great location and good rooms. Wonderful breakfast and above all, the most friendly staff. They were super helpful to make the most of our time in Quito. 100% recommended!

I loved it but it would not be to some people's taste. It is embedded in an old house and an interesting blend of ancient and modern. The front is original while a glass atrium fills the old courtyard. The result is photogenic but also light and airy. There is an excellent view over the rooftops from the roof terrace. However it is bed and breakfast only, with no bar. Tea and coffee are available from the breakfast area, while I was able to order a beer from reception. Very quiet. No lift. Breakfast was average. Location right next to Quito centre excellent. Area felt safe. Helpful staff, when you could find them

I recently stayed at the Dann Carlton Hotel with my family for three nights and although there were some positive aspects, there were also multiple issues that left us somewhat dissatisfied. We stayed in rooms 311 and 611.

First and foremost, I must applaud the exceptional customer service we experienced throughout our stay. The staff was attentive, polite, and always willing to assist. From the reception to the restaurant staff, everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome.

One highlight of our stay was the breakfast. The variety of options available was impressive, and the quality of the food was excellent. We all enjoyed starting our day with a satisfying meal to fuel our activities.

The hotel's location was also a major advantage. Its proximity to various attractions and amenities made it convenient for exploring the area. Additionally, the lobby and common areas were well-maintained, creating a pleasant atmosphere for guests.

However, despite these positive aspects, there were several disappointments that significantly impacted our overall experience. The first issue was with the shower in our room, which did not meet the minimum standards. The water temperature fluctuated uncontrollably, posing a safety concern, especially with children. It was frustrating to have to limit our showers to a maximum of two minutes due to this issue.

Another concern was the limited control over room temperature. Adjusting the temperature required assistance from the reception, located in the basement. This inconvenience could easily be improved by installing individual climate control units in each room.

Furthermore, the hotel advertises a swimming pool for guests, but it is actually outsourced to a fitness center. This means that the pool and other facilities, such as the gym, were shared with non-guests. In addition, the lack of complimentary towels at the pool was disappointing, as we had to bring our own from the room.

In terms of amenities, the hotel fell short of expectations as well. The espresso machine in the room came with only one capsule and one cup, which was insufficient for two people. It would have been more desirable to have extra capsules provided or the option to request additional supplies from the staff.

Moreover, the cable TV in our room did not work properly.

Unfortunately, even after requesting a room change due to the faulty shower in our initial room, we were disappointed to encounter the same issues (shower, room temperature and TV) in the substitute room.

Taking everything into consideration, I cannot confidently classify Dann Carlton Hotel as a 5-star establishment. While the attentive customer service, delicious breakfast, and prime location were commendable, the shortcomings regarding the shower, room temperature control, shared pool facility, lack of towels, insufficient room amenities, and faulty TV cable were disappointing and impacted our overall experience.

I sincerely hope that the hotel management takes note of these concerns and makes the necessary improvements to provide guests with a truly luxurious and hassle-free stay in the future.

Reading some of comments I wouldn't make a reservation but... food it's really good, fresh fruits, hot plates, variety of hot and cold drinks. Some people were complaining they were not treated well hmm How would you like to be treated? Strange because hotel's staff it's really nice, kind and educated. Location it's excellent. Rooms clean.

Nice view and location, clean and lovely staff but hotel is quite noisy! If it’s not the gardener at 7:30 am, it’s the music the hotel turns on in the garden at 8am or the noises from other rooms and corridors as walls seem to be old and thin. You won’t be able to have restful sleep at this hotel if that’s what you are expecting. Breakfast isn’t good either.

I’m posting this again because the hotel deleted my original review. Not all of the rooms have AC which is very annoying. My issue with the hotel begins a few weeks ago when me and 4 other people I invited went to the hotel bar. We were sitting near the TV, the volume was loud and we requested that it be turned down. Another group of guests had the remote, the waiter would not get it from them and only asked them to turn it down they refused. Not only that but they turned the volume up to the absolute maximum to spite us. The manager got involved and we were informed that the other guests were much more important to the hotel as they spend a lot of money there and get additional privileges. Since we aren’t there as frequently and don’t spend as much money, we aren’t considered important guests. The managed advised us that if the music bothers us, we are free to leave. They also started smoking inside the bar, which is a very small room. The smell was nothing short of disgusting.

The hotel very clearly only cares about its high paying clientele and the regular guests are quite frankly treated like garbage.

To anyone that is traveling to Quito, look somewhere else. You can find another hotel for the same price that actually cares about its guests. Also the mattress was as hard as a rock.

Completely unsafe ... i'm staying in the hotel to attend a vape show in the city... i got stopped by militants in front of the hotel and they robbed me and stole my watch and my necklace and were about to kidnap me... the hotel has no security measures whatsoever .. i have no idea how this have happened... it's chaos over here and very dangerous... don't consider this hotel if you're coming from outside and looking for a normal safe stay... there might a snitch within their employees

Nice hotel and good service. It is well located, near to shopping mall, restaurants, parks.

Stopped by for a dinner with colleagues in a private event at the restaurant. Absolutely stunning interior, truly felt like we had stepped back in time. Service was good, and initial courses were great. Principal plate was too well done for my taste, but others seemed to enjoy. If you’re in Quito and have a night to spare, it’s worth a stop in to turn back time.

I'm shock, I came here because it is known to be one of the best hotels in Quito but, besides one guy in the reception, NOBODY speaks English.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights. Original plan was only 2 nights. This place is amazing!
Atmosphere is fantastic, we felt like we were visiting to our long time friend. Andres,the owner is welcoming, accommodating and helpful.
He takes his time to speak with you, answer all the questions you may have and recommend places to go, food to try and etc.
We also met some great travelers from around the world.
Breakfast is delicious. Every morning is little different but you always have choice of fresh fruit, eggs and pastries. Unlimited coffee and tea throughout the day.

Noisy, cramped, terrible service. We were two people and had towels for one. Had to get reception to open the bathroom, which they had locked with a key. No heating. And neighboors threw a party until 4 am and reception said they sent someone up… that was their entire response.

Rooms are small with no coffee. They have the cheapest TVs possible and they refuse to hook them up to Wi-Fi so there's nothing to watch for a non Spanish guest.

Hotel Filandia is a great hotel. Our room was spacious and nice. The breakfast was tasty with many delicious options. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The location is great. It is one block away from parque La Carolina which is beautiful. There are many restaurants and cafes close by. It was a great stay and I fully recommend this hotel!

The service at this hotel was awful. First they have an issue with booking with a third party website rather than directly with them; they make sure to mention it anytime you have a question or issue.

When we arrived at the airport we were expecting a pre-arranged pick up from the airport to the hotel for my family of six. No one was waiting for us and after 30 minutes waiting, I was forced to hire two cabs and pay for them out of pocket.

Considering the amount of money we spent for 2 rooms, you would expect the treatment to be better. At the end of our stay, we requested a car to take us to the airport which we thought would be complimentary since the first mishap. Instead they charged us out of pocket, which would not have been an issue if they had communicated this ahead of time and instead of the driver having to call the hotel from the airport to try to figure out who was paying the fare.

This treatment cheapened and disgusted us. We have traveled all over the world and expected more from a stay in Ecuador’s capital city with the Findlandia Hotel.

I hope with this review they can change their mindset. We should’ve stayed at the Sheraton which is across the street and the treatment would have been better.

The hotel staff is simply incredible, followed by the hotel itself being in a great location, amazing value, and again the staff treated us wonderfully. We arrived late on our first night which they were very accommodating, and were very helpful with letting us leave some luggage while we hiked Cotopaxi. They helped us with finding food, transportation, fun things to do in the area. Overall the staff made our stay truly special and I could recommend this hotel to anyone.

When we arrived the room was dirty and beds obviously slept in. After we resolved that issue we had a swim and were forced to wear bath caps in the pool that did not even fit a regular adult. Then we had a meal at the hotel restaurant, the views were great but the food was subpar. Over priced, lacking international quality.

the rooms have good beds but very cold rooms with no way of heating the rooms. There is zeri heating in the rooms, we sat wrapped in blankets to try to keep warm, it was like sitting in a refrigerator. No tea/coffee making facilities, we were shivering all night. The maids bang on your door every few minutes even though you have do not disturb sign on the door, this starts from 5 hours before check out and it does not stop. The wait in the restaurant is 30 minutes for a menu, there is no shortage of staff it's just the staff pay no attention to guests in the restaurant. After sitting for dinner we had to search for menus and when we were ready to order despite trying to get the attention of the staff, we had to get up and go to the staff to order. We came for breakfast and tried for 20 minutes to gain the attention of the staff hiding in the kitchen as there were no eggs, after a 15 minute wait eggs arrived but only after several reminders. The reception staff could not locate my booking which caused delays checking in. There is little organisation here. I can not recommend this hotel.

The best thing about the hotel was its breakfast; it had variety and everything was delicious. The hotel staff was nice and also the hotel manager is a really polite and helpful person. However, some things can be improved such as there were no hotel room slippers, the air conditioner did not have a heating option and there were no door hanger cards to let us communicate with the housekeeping staff. Also, even though I appreciate they replaced them every day, the towels had an unpleasant smell. Overall, if they do some minor improvements I believe it is a nice hotel to stay in.

The outdoor brunch was spectacular, from food to service! It is set by the poolside with tablecloth tables and music. Brunch costs $25, or $30 (February 2023) if you want to swim as well. The pool is temperature-regulated to about 84 F (29 C). I highly recommend enjoying a special brunch here!

We went for breakfast! I am sick so I have a vegan diet and the chef was perfect. My family and I enjoyed the food. It's lovely when you can have a meal out of your house and people understand your needs and restrictions! I'm thankful

This was a really nice hotel the staff was very accommodating. The location was perfect for restaurants and shopping. The hotel restaurant and bar has very good food and drinks. (breakfast and strong coffee was amazing) Our favorite waiter David was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us good information about our surroundings. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Clean hotel with excellent price to value ratio. Breakfast included, fast internet, clean & modern rooms. Staff is attentive & quick. I would describe it as a modern business hotel with everything you need and nothing you don't. Clean, simple & pragmatic. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
