Was looking St Germain, couldn’t find it at the local Waitrose, so tried here. I was overjoyed to find he had it in stock. Brilliant!

Boring staff no smiles or welcoming comments, we sat outside in the back this evening no plates or cutlery until we nearly finished our cheese and meats, I hasten to add no pickles, olives or crackers included? which was supermarket standard, nothing special !!!! wine was old and and been open for several days, toilets full of black mould and the whole place out the back needs a deep clean, if this is where locals give a 5 star rating they need to venture outside there own area once and a while to see what is available else where. We would not return or give our custom again, This is open and honest opinion!!!

Lovely wine store with a broad l, well curated selection for retail and £10 crocks to drink in. A new glass washer wouldn’t hurt but a lovely place I’ll return to.

Helped me out with a 60th birthday present. Great guy, extremely helpful and knows exactly what he’s talking about. If you’re from Wapping and need wines, this is the place!
I have ordered from here several times using the shop local function on the website, every time the staff have been very helpful and friendly. On the Saturday just gone, I called to see if they were able to deliver the same day and I had the wine within 90mins…the guy who delivered it was also lovely and friendly. Great service!

Best Winestore in East! Nicest selection of Billiecart in London. H is the best, passionate & really well informed. Nicest interaction with great prices. Definitely worth the visit

Such wonderful cooking for a local eaterie; very reasonable price point too - as though you are actually in France and it is your human right to eat well. I had a delicious beetroot and trout (cut into a tiny mound of food) which was such a delicate flavour (soaked with gin the waiter said) then boulabaisse. Excellent wine list and knowledge from staff. Small restaurant so book or be disappointed. A neighbourhood gem. The wine was perfect (I had to go buy some afterwards).

I was feet away from the reputable Davy’s wine shop on Fleet Street the other day, and I needed some wine. In spite of the convenient option, I decided to go home via Wapping and visit this place instead. My friend doesn’t like red wine, but the proprietor of this fantastic shop was able to take a few hints on their taste and recommend something that wowed us both - as he does every time. This shop is worth a special trip.
Here for a birthday celebration with my wife and two of our grown up ‘kids’. So good to be in a quality service orientated venue. Incredible Rhône wine list with food that was as much of a treat as the wine. dishes were classic and extremely well presented. Tasting superb as well. Santé. Thoroughly recommend.
We had a wine tasting here yesterday and it was so enjoyable - Susan was such a delight to talk to (and so knowledgable/passionate about wine!) Henry was also very helpful and friendly. Thank you very much!
This lovely comptoir has excellent wines. The mini pistachio filled puffs are lovely. I enjoy sitting outside (regardless of the season) as long as the heaters are in you’re fine!
Went for a glass of wine after work. Quick service. We had a couple of side dishes including oysters and mushroom arancini. It’s a great place for dates and small groups of 3-4 people. They also have few tables outside.

5 stars in the brasserie level of restaurant. Bottom line is that we loved Blandford Comptoir--we will dine here again. The food is excellent and fresh, evidenced by the small number of offerings on the menu. The saffron seafood veloute was fragrant and we loved all the starters. The wine list is more than excellent, including high quality wines by the glass and some splendid bottles (esp check out the hermitage and surrounding areas on the menu). The staff are fantastic and enthusiastic. Great meal, we will be back soon.

Where are you from?

We go in, and trying to find a seat, in the back, a large French man, not quite speaking Pigeon bellows to me "Please sit down. Fromage, Vino?" Like an old friend from school, he pats my back, leading us to a seat. He is with some equally drunk friends, men and women, English and French. Thing is, I didn't even look at their faces, I had moved into myself, so I just saw tables where we might sit. I didn't look at his face either. I only looked at the face of one woman, perhaps his partner, who was seated, drinking, with tight curly hair, mildly imploringly just once. Like a blackened pit pony, being lead down a mine, hoping for some reprieve.

The room is tight, and the two tables where we could sit are crammed in next to the big table where the group sit. "Would you like this table or the one over there?" he shouts. He's pretending to be my waiter., "Please come, welcome." he acts as if on stage. "Do you work here?" I ask, regretting the emission of this sheeplike lubricating bleat from my mouth, my naive attempt to make sense of this all, and anyway half not really being quite sure if he does. "Noooo" he smiles, No! laughs out loud.

We sit down, but he goes on "What would you like, Jambon, Vin Rouge, Fromage?" making a show of serving me. I can't think what else to say.

"Where are you from?" he asks.

I go through the possibilities, I've thought I should respond with "What social class are you", but it feels too rude to say now, as I shake my head, stare at the table under me, raise my eyebrows, smile slightly. I now realize what this actually is. I am surprised because I was not expecting it. The ice breaks. How could he? "Where are you from?" he says again. Further pause. He sees I am silent and still. He cottons on, I'm not playing his game, and whats the game anyway, for me to feel grateful, to have been given a seat at the table? Strangely he suddenly gives me the multiple choice "Crouch End?" worried he's overstepped the line that can be taken when playing this special game. Forget India and the Colonies. Well thats something at least. Relieved, I say "I'm from Turnpike Lane.", because I simply wish the game to end. And he replies, the final move to put me in my place "O, an adventurer".

He turns around, and leaves us alone. I can't remember the noises the audience made as they listened to this little micro-something or other. Later she tells me "You need to be better at dealing with this sort of thing.", "Yes, I know" I say.
Majestics usual good range and stock knowledge, staff were very helpful,l. A website issue meant I accidentally placed 2 click and collect orders, sorted and received the refund for one almost immediately. Great service
Fabulous little bistro just off Marylebone High St. Staff are friendly and offer efficient but relaxed service.

They do a lunch special which is great value. We had steak frites with salad for £15 (2023) plus a 375ml carafe of wine.
Bought 6 bottles, 3 red Bordeaux were “maderisés”, 3 whites (Chablis) were too acide, which is unusual, to be drunk. So £100 directly in the sink. Not coming back.
Had a great time at this restaurant. Really good service and food is not mad expensive. A great experience from our friends in the Southern Hemisphere
Great selection of wines and any other drinks and very good prices even on festive period ,staff where very helpful . Will return soon
Great selection of wine, delicious cheeses and cured meats, as well as deli. Very friendly people at the store and quick delivery.
OSTRICH steak with MONKEY gland sauce?
.
Yes, you heard me! Vivat Bacchus is a South African restaurant mainly focused on meat and wine and you can find some real SA specialties there including Ostrich steak.
You'd be pleased to hear that the OSTRICH steak was absolutely delightful and we even enjoyed it more than their staple ribeye on the bone!
.
The starters were equally amazing, BURRATA was extremely creamy and I never had it before with fruit. The Braai Broodjie Croquettes had a creamy center and were served with chutney.
.
Don't miss the desserts and try their MALVA CAKE which is very similar to British Sticky Toffee Pudding. And of course, they specialise in wine, so make sure to have a glass. If cheese is your thing, you can pick yours in their cheese room too.
.
Definitely in my top 5 dining experiences this year. Can't wait to go back!
.
⭐️Overall rating: 9/10

Fabulous deli, wine bar, eatery with beers to boot. Great selection of wine, drinks, cheeses and meats. Beautiful interior with a lovely outdoor area at the back. Staff are AMAZING and always make you feel welcome

Really good place for a lunch or dinner! I tried the vegetarian dishes, though limited choice on the menu tasted incredible!
Our host was knowledgable about all the wines and shared extensive details for many of the bottles.
I love their cheese room - you can pick which cheeses you’d like for your dessert! A different and fun experience.
I look forward to my next visit.

This is a lovely place for a semi informal dinner with friends or perhaps colleagues. The food is excellent. The service is fantastic and if you like your wines there is plenty to choose from.

It is slightly on the pricey side, but in my opinion worth it.

We booked a private room downstairs for the team and had a great night out. To me, the crocodile starter and the ostrich steak were first timers, both were delicious and tasty. The selection of South African wine was also brilliant and the Syrah, merlot and Cabernet were outstanding. The African beer we tried (can’t recall the name) was excellent. Service was spot on and at the end, the whole evening was fun and memorable. 10/10 to Vivat Bacchus

Upon arrival, you're pleasantly greeted before you're seated. The restaurant is very easy on the eyes with its cheese and wine sections fitted into the decorative works. The menu is different from your everyday restaurant, including different types of meat. The steak was definitely valued for money, and the sea bream tasted perfect. Great service and care by the waitress who served us from 13:30 onwards. I'll definitely be returning to try a different course.

We might have finally found our ‘regular’ wine bar - nice location, passionate staff, super interesting, handpicked selection of wines. It’s not cheap, but value for money is there so we left very happy and looking forward to return.

Excellent service and recommendations. Food and wine were great and both were a novelty as South African themed. Therefore some delicious spiced chicken and a very tender ostrich steak. Desserts were a very pleasant surprise. Highly recommend
I came here for a birthday dinner and it was nothing short of phenomenal! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even went as far as to explain all of the items on the menu, thanks!

I would absolutely recommend and hope to return very soon. Every item was very unique and tasted amazing.

We had a wonderful time and our waitress was just lovely.

We were celebrating my friend's birthday and our waitress helped make it a really fun evening. She provided the perfect balance of friendly attentiveness and space for us to talk (as well as some lovely complimentary birthday champagn!e). The food was also excellent (especially the burger) and we’re looking forward to returning for my birthday next month. Best meal I’ve had out in ages.
Great location, across from London Bridge train station at Hayes Galleria This is a lovely private place, just off the main road.

We had a wine 🍷 tasting session as part of a hen party.
It was really good, very enjoyable. A good selection of wines to taste, white, red, a sparkling blush rose and plenty of sparkling water to clean the palate in between.
The session included a selection of olives, nuts, bread, crackers and cheese.

The staff were lovely, very helpful and the wine sommelier was excellent!

The dinner menu, looked enticing and had wild meats to try such as crocodile. I had delicious sea bass, with greens and potatoes for dinner.

A very enjoyable time was spent here. I will definitely come here again.

Amazing small, family owned store! Owner H always seems to get the stuff you can’t get in the supermarkets. Keeps me and the boys stocked up for Modelos!
Good food, good service (albeit slow) and nice vibe - the crocodile Goujon is interesting (and tasty), while the sea bream and the ostrich are quite good. Service was a bit slow, though the servers were lovely. Decor isn’t much but it’s got a nice vibe.

Wonderful experience. Went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and we were certainly treated like gold. From getting complimentary champagne on arrival and the creamiest creme brulee with a candle, the staff really made the night special.
And of course, the food was amazing. Being from South Africa, the ribeye on the bone did not disappoint. Will definitely be making another appearance
Had an amazing lunchtime meal. Food, service & ambience was fabulous. Great value for money & perfect location. So close to station! Florri looked after us very well!

Disappointing wine tasting we expected more for the price. The overall experience did not feel much like an event it felt as though we were interrupting the staff doing their clear up despite booking weeks in advance. We would have liked more of a welcome as the staff did not greet us on entry. Also more of a breakdown of each wine would be appreciated with the staff member being engaging and taking more time to explain and leave room for questions. The cheese and charcuterie pairing was tiny for the number of guests again we would have expected more. I would not recommend the wine tasting though the wine was ok.

Really great place for steak and wine. We ordered from their 3 course set menu and the meal was perfect. I started with the burrata, followed by a delicious steak and finished with the cheese platter. All went down well with their red wines. Lovely staff and atmosphere too!
Lovely group dinner at Vivat Bacchus in Farringdon. Fortunate to have one of the private dining rooms, which was lovely and perfect for our group of 18.

Food and service were both excellent, with wine flowing as needed. Big shout out to Anna for looking after us, and thanks also to Ryan for help with booking.

Hoping to come back, both to experience dining with friends and to have more corporate events!

The little garden at the back is the best kept secret in Crouch End! It’s a great place to enjoy some delicious natural wine and cheese, tucked away from the business of the high street. The super friendly staff will help you pick want you need, always with the smile on! The range is actually quite wide as well which is super practical.

Helped me choose wines for our event and the prices are good. I was able to take back 6 unopened bottles afterwards for refund. Glasses were free to borrow, must be returned clean. Also bought ice. A great help for larger events.

Staff are friendly but not knowledgeable about wine. The chardonnay I was looking for was not available at the shop. The staff grabbed the wine right next to him and said to me that one was good. He didn't even ask what I liked about the one I was looking for.

I always enjoy coming to this Majestic. The staff are very knowledgeable and provide a decent service. The manager seems to have been there for years as every time we visit he is always there. We have done wine and food parings here which were completely complementary, we come to the summer and winter showcases each time they are held. There is always a vast selection on hand and is good for each palate. We always leave here with many new wines that we may have never of tried otherwise. Another great thing about majestic is the free delivery and free glass/ice bucket hire.

Our local wine shop. Can’t fault the friendly service, great prices, free flowing tastings and free delivery. They also run great wine tasting events from time to time
I stumbled across this quite unique and exquisite establishment a few years ago and I always go in and pick up a bottle or two as they do stock some sought after limited edition bottles of whiskey.
The shop also stocks some decent craft beers and the wine selection is absolutely fantastic, all sold at competitive prices.
The staff are extremely knowledgable and they will go that extra mile to get you what you want.
The shop is always clean and tidy hence it is a real gem in the area, especially when independent retailers are hard to find as the big chain stores try to sell everything.
I was astonished to see a one star rating and to be honest I couldn’t comprehend the comments after all there was a note on the front to say the shop would be trading different hours.
I’ll definitely be popping back in on Wednesday to collect my beers for the World Cup.

Excellent service, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff (honours to Abraham and Johnny), I'm a frequent customer and taster of their free tastings. They also set up tasting events which I'm yet to and keen to attend. That I guess is the whole point of a physical store: to offer what it's just not possible on their website and they accomplish that with perfection.
Friendly and very attentive service, great wine, perfect cozy ambience, and excellent food. The wine list had lots of choices at various prices including many affordable choices. The food is the reason to come. We ordered several sides in addition to one shared main and enjoyed everything brought to the table. The cheesy polenta, Courgette flower, sweet Sicilian prawns, charcuterie, roast French quail, and roasted lamb rump were all perfectly prepared, and each was remarkably flavorful. Even the green peas (I'm not usually a fan) were gorgeous. The lemon tart was a great finish to the meal. Really great restaurant.
