Absolutely amazing experience with Sonya! I’m new to the area and decided on Sonya from reading all of the great reviews she had on Google. I truly see why she has so many exceptional reviews. From start to finish, I could tell she was knowledgeable about hair and the care she exhibited while doing my hair was top notch. I came to the salon with hair in need of TLC and I left feeling brand new. I can’t wait to go back and have Sonya work her magic again!

I’ve been going to Salon Revive for over 16 years and as long as Yodit continues to do hair, I have no intention of ever getting my hair styled somewhere else. After years of relaxing my hair, Yodit helped me transition to keeping my hair natural. We haven’t looked back. She keeps my hair healthy and well shaped. She’s a genius with scissors and keeps up to date on Aveda science for all hair types.

I am in the process of growing my hair out from an extremely short style and picked Aurora and Zoe because of the positive reviews! My expectations were met/exceeded. Zoe listened to my hair goals and gave me a super cute bob (as well as styling tips). Thank you again!!

Great service. Salon was so welcoming and took me in as a walk in. Best deep scrub wash. Salam really took her time to give me a great wash. My blowout was very nice and she took her time while pressing out my hair. Im on day 3 hair still looks great

This is the best salon I have EVER been to. After staying away from professional salons for YEARS due to poor quality and overpricing, I took a chance on Studio Chique & I’m so glad I did. I came in the same day for a wash, blow dry, and trim and walked out loving my hair. All of the ladies in the salon were so nice, and my stylist Sabrina was friendly, knowledgeable, and took great care of my hair. Overall, the salon was clean and the staff were the sweetest. They offer a variety of services as well, not just hair care. I will definitely be back!

Thomas cut my hair - I got short bangs for the first time and love them! He was great and very thorough. I've gotten lots of compliments and he also mentioned bang trims are free for returning customers.

I am almost more nervous of hairdressers than I am of doctors - but my experience with Heran and Elsa was amazing. I came in with badly damaged hair, greys, and lack luster colour - I left feeling and looking amazing. I had a balayage colour, trim, moisture treatment, blowout and style. In spite of being busy (an indication of how in demand she is) Hernan took her time to explain my colour choice make sure I was ok with the coverage and understand my maintenance desires. Elsa gave me terrific washes and blow-outs, take care to make sure that she combed out my very fine 3c hair. I didn’t feel a single pull. Hernan then gave me a nice trim that brought framing to my face which brought out the amazing colour she mixed. Just the right amount of warmth while still bringing some energy and vibrancy to my hair. All of this for a very reasonable price by DC standards. Most importantly, Heran is just lovely and the salon has a very comfortable vibe while still being very professional. I moved to DC 15 years ago and have still been taking flights home to get my hair cut (and frankly sometimes that was actually cheaper than the prices salons charged me). Not anymore! Thank you Heran and team!

The facial experience was exceptional from start to finish. It was incredibly relaxing and relieved a lot of my work-related stress. Even though I have fairly good skin, I was amazed at how much oil and impurities were extracted. The staff were professional and welcoming, and the therapist was especially attentive and skilled, explaining the process. An ingrown hair I had no longer hurts and is now healing after this session. My face was left with a natural, oil-free glow. I highly recommend this service if you're looking to relax and improve your skin's health.

Review of Platinum Head Spa:

I went into the Platinum head spa feeling very tense from work, but the experience turned out to be incredibly stress-relieving. Even with my short hair, the treatment was calming, relaxing, and revitalizing. From having my hair washed and scalp massaged to the soothing steam treatment, every part of the experience was wonderful from start to finish.

The staff were professional and welcoming, and the therapist was particularly attentive and skilled, focusing on key pressure points that melted away my stress. The entire process was incredibly soothing and left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Overall, the Platinum head spa is a must-try for any man looking to relax and improve the health of his hair and scalp. It’s the perfect blend of traditional techniques and modern relaxation, making it a unique experience that I highly recommend

I am new to the DC area, and I’m looking to find a new natural hair salon. Unfortunately, this won’t be the place for me. I got a moisture treatment, wash and go, and trim with SALEM. While the trim was good, everything else is not. Despite my moisture treatment, my hair looks dry and feels brittle. There’s little to no definition. I do a better wash and go at home, which is a shame considering I paid $145. The Aveda Confixor (for fine to medium hair) is not the type of gel that can be used on my thick 3C style hair (coarse hair). It dried my hair out. A complete waste of money. Does this look like anything you’d pay for? Also, I am quite perplexed as to why she would sit me under the dryer for 45 minutes AND THEN proceed to diffuse my hair? The hair was already dried out.

As an update, it’s now 11:00 pm on Saturday, and I have had to put my hair up. It looks deplorable. I will have to wash it myself tomorrow so that it actually looks nice. The Aveda product has my hair feeling Sahara desert dry. They should be ashamed to have anyone walk out of the salon with their hair looking like this. I’m pretty sure the owner of the shop checked me out too, so she had to see how bad it looked. And she had the unmitigated gull yo ask me if i wanted to set up my next appointment. Hell no!!!!!

As a last point. The 2 photos of me in my bathroom were taken after I rewashed my own hair on Sunday morning. It looks so much better than what they did. How is that possible? Aren’t they supposed to know how to do hair?

I have medium length, fine hair. I have been having Zoe cut my hair for the last 3 appointments. Zoe does a great job cutting my hair. She spends the time needed to cut my hair so that it looks finished with out the need for me to spend time styling it. I just wash and go! I am so happy with her cuts! I feel comfortable at the salon since everyone there is really nice.

Jazz did an **amazing** job with my color. I showed him a few pictures and gave him a half-baked idea of what I was looking for and he perfectly nailed it. The color was exactly the shade of blonde I was looking for and it looks so natural and perfect. I told him to do whatever he thought would look best and he did that and more.

In general, Aurora is great, it’s a cute shop where I felt very comfortable spending a few hours. Their schedule worked great for me and everyone was very nice.

I love this newly renovated location! Super elegant! I went to see Alana to get a Head Spa and I highly recommend her and the service. She communicated what was happening during the head spa to make sure I knew what was going on and to make sure I was comfortable. Everyone was very professional and had wonderful customer service. Had my hair done for the second time here with Jazz for coloring and had such a great experience. I had come over from being a client with another colorist for years and Jazz was able to seamlessly and gorgeously keep me exactly where I wanted to be with my highlights and color. Such a sweet person to work with as well. Wonderful service and a gorgeous salon environment- will continue to come back and see Jazz for my color and recommend anyone who’s looking for a salon.
Also saw Juno for the first time for a cut last week. She’s the sweetest and she gave me an adorable cut - highly recommend!

Had a great experience! I was able to receive a complimentary consultation very quickly and schedule an appointment with Jazz. I got some low-lights (baby-lights) and it was my first time getting my hair professionally colored. I am Black and appreciated how kind my colorist was. He was super gentle and patient in coloring my hair, helped me achieve the exact color that I wanted, and recommended some products to help with hydration after heavy bleaching. Will be coming back :)

The cutest salon in DC! The staff is so kind and always on time. I got a balayage from Lilly and a cut from Zoe and they both are so sweet and so good at making you feel comfortable. I had so many questions about different hair products and styles and they both answered all my questions with grace and happiness. I highly recommend Aurora Salon!!!

Service was amazing!!!! I flew into DC for a meeting but needed a silk press immediately. They were able to get me in at the last minute and were super accommodating because my flight arrived late! When I arrived they stored my small luggage out the way & they started on me right away. Throughout the course of my service, they continued to ask if I was good and if I needed anything. The service was impeccable, my silk press was amazing, the price was great and the stylist even gave me some recommendations on places to visit while I was in town. If I'm ever back in DC, I'll be back to get another silk press!

I was actually a walk-in. God sent me to the right business. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the ambiance. Its beautifully decor and colors are very welcoming. The gospel music playing at a comfortable level allows you to worship through song. You are among GOD fearing souls whose customer service goes beyond anything I've ever experienced from other shops. I LOVE my hair!! And thank you for the jollof rice, it was really good. I will definitely be back for a new do!! TOBY was an added gem!! I always have the best experience at Salon Revive. I almost always see Asmi, who consistently gives me the haircut of my dreams - and the scalp massage is heavenly! I feel the prices to be reasonable consider the area, and the quality of services they provide. The salon is pristine and the environment is calm and inviting. If you’re looking for a new salon, you will NOT be disappointed here at Revive!

White refrigerator experience. The majority of assistants there don’t know how to detangle without ripping through your hair. They turn you away from the mirror, blow dry hair at the highest setting, don’t listen when you ask them to turn it down, don’t communicate their steps or educate, but give you attitude if you ask simple questions, like did they apply heat protectant. One time I booked the owner of the salon for a traditional weave and my appointment took 6 hours… just to leave with painful folliculitis from too-tight braids, an exposed track, and mid styling. I would stay away if you care about your natural hair and want your stylist to be helpful, - not treat your appointment like a chore when you’re paying money for a service.

So this review is going to be a bit harsh. Full disclosure I have been here several times prior to this visit and have had great experiences. This time however was really not good. My hair was cut by a stylist who is new to the team - she mentioned that she had been there for the last 3 months when I first sat in her chair. But in our conversations she’d mentioned that she was a hairstylist since she was a young girl. We had a lovely time and great conversations. Upon leaving the salon I was even feeling really good and happy with my new cut but I just kept thinking about how this is not what I wanted or asked for and how there were a couple of instances that I should have paid more attention to at the time. I came in with a grown out, shaggy pixie that badly needed a shape up. I went in with a photo of a woman who had a close-ish curl pattern to mine (first image) and she had beautiful curls all over her head. That’s the look I was going for. I was expecting this appointment to take 2ish hours and left nearly 4 hours later. My stylist kept cutting my hair for so long and at first I was thinking oh she just needs to get the shape right. And at one point I asked to see how my cut was looking and she joked it off as if it were a big surprise for the end. It bothered me and I asked again firmly and politely insisted that I see how the cut was coming along. She showed me and I was really shocked to see that I basically had a man’s cut and I asked if my hair will look more like the picture when my hair is wet and my curls are revived. She kept reassuring me that yes my curls will reappear and she was talking about how relieved that I stopped her because she had another 3-4 inches of hair to cut. This is wild as no part of my hair is even 1 inch long at the end of my cut. It really felt like she kept messing up and would keep cutting hair to fix her mistakes. At the end of the cut and styling the stylist and other stylists in the salon were glowing and so complimentary. I initially left feeling really great. But upon getting home and looking more at my haircut and comparing it to what I wanted and going over different weird interactions during the haircut, I felt like I got duped. It’s really unfortunate I loved going here but I think I have to look into other salons or will only request the stylist that cut my pixie initially (Yodit) as I was a lot more happy with that cut than this. The first photo is what I wanted, the 2nd-4th photos are what I got, and the 5th-6th photos is what the grown out pixie looked like when I first came in for a cut. Not at all what I had expected nor asked for and ultimately feeling a bit disappointed. My hair is so short and I don’t have curls except on the top of my head and it’s like I lost a big part of me. I am really so so sad that they did this to my hair and initially convinced me it looked good.

My experience at Tsunami is always amazing. Jahkira is extremely professional and always has my hair looking good when I leave the shop. I’ve been going for the past three years and haven’t had one bad experience. I have and would recommend her to anyone.

Love. Love. Love. Love. I was nervous when I first visited maybe a year or so ago because I have 4c hair and it seemed the demographic was different than I but must I say, they exceeded my expectations. I left out of that salon feeling so beautiful and was radiating confidence. The women that work here are so gifted and kind! Never judgmental and always so caring and nurturing with your hair. 10/10 would recommend any day ! God bless them.

Alyse has been cutting my hair for two years now and I trust her to make it look a great. She’s seen my mom and I many times. She takes her time, answers questions, and offers advice when requested. She’s also super friendly!

I have been meaning to write this review for so long! Sabrina is a master of her craft, and that doesn’t even begin to cover it. She gave me a color I didn’t know was possible to achieve on human hair. It looks even more stunning in person! The color has faded beautifully and required minimal maintenance. I still get so many compliments even months after the appointment. My hair has felt so healthy and strong as well. Sabrina is a highly knowledgeable, kind, wonderful person with incredible skill, patience, and understanding. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone!

I had a phenomenal experience at Eden. My stylist, Sabrina, knew exactly the look I was going for and gave me a cut I love. The salon was clean, calming and fully of friendly women - employees and customers alike. I’ve been looking for a salon I love since moving to DC, and I think this is it!

I was told one price. After I got in the chair, she told me if I wanted the cornrows closer together it would be $25 more. I was told by 3 females who hair she had done not to go to her, but I wanted to judge her for myself. They were 100% right. After just 2 weeks my two outer braid on both sides of my head just came off and was hanging. I saw Mado outside her salon, she told me to come back the next morning. She was not there for the next two mornings. This is the worst hair braiding salon I have ever been to in this city. I would not refer my dog to this salon. I will never go there again and I warn you other ladies to do the same. Bad braiding and bad customer service. Now I see why their chairs are always available

This was my first time coming to Eden Salon of DC, and I have to say my experience was top-tier. Their newly added stylist Che was absolutely AMAZING. Che took her time with me and explained the different services that would be best for my hair and I have to say the trim and silk press was it. I definitely will be returning as a regular client of Che her professionalism and attention to detail are unmatched. Thank you again Che for making my experience great. calling all platinum babes! RUN, don’t walk, to Eden DC Salon. Sabrina has been doing my platinum blonde look for 2 years. She researched and worked her genius magic to make a color formula and routine specific to me 🥹 and she does this with all her clients! Eden also did my color a couple of times (and she’s a boss business owner, v inspiring). The whole salon is fun, supportive, wonderful vibes. Just 10/10, in every way.

A true gem and one stop shop for all of your hair needs! Y’all know finding good reliable stylists can be a headache but that is not an issue at Tsunami! The stylists are friendly, timely, and professional. The hair studio is clean, nice, and stylish—I also appreciate that there is a parking lot.

Highly recommend this establishment. First time walk in customer. Neisha was my stylist. All of the young ladies were very professional. Braided hair and was very pleased with the outcome. She provided excellent hair care. Told me from start to finish what would be the next hair care process. They also remove braids for an added cost. I highly recommend this establishment. I had the most amazing time there getting my hair done professionally for the first time ever. Neshia was my stylist for the day and she really took good care of me and my hair for my birthday. It was really nice meeting everyone and having this experience. I would definitely be back there again!

I visited this salon for the first time this weekend to get a ponytail style for my birthday. I was very pleased with the the style until I was ready to checkout and was told my total was $317. I have never been charged this much for a wash, trimming my ends (cost $84 and only took about 5 mins) and a ponytail. I was highly disappointed especially since I asked the estimated price when I checked in and they told me $133 but the price could vary. When they said vary, I did not expect to be charged almost $400 for a ponytail style. This seems highly unreasonable and I sort of feel robbed. It’s a shame bc I really loved the stylist but unfortunately I will not be returning. Lesson learned…verify the price before you sit down in the chair.

Fatima is the best! This was my first time at this salon and my first time ever coloring my hair. She called me the morning of my appointment to make sure she understood what I was asking for and that we had enough time. When I arrived, everyone from the front desk to the other stylists were so welcoming. I felt really relaxed. We started right on time! The salon is very clean and all the dryers/sinks look brand new. I’ll be returning again soon!

I have been to this salon on 3 occasions. The reception staff are very professional as are stylists Renee and Koren. On one of my visits the stylist asked whether I wanted a hydration treatment and I was informed that there was an added cost for the treatment. On the next visit, the assistant washed my hair and said that she was placing me in the chair for hydration. Maybe the assistant reviewed my client history and saw that I had the treatment on a previous visit. In hindsight, I am not pleased with this practice by the salon. While I could have said, no I do not want the treatment, that is more awkward than being asked beforehand.
TO THE SALON OWNER: During my salon visit, I observed a stylist blow drying a female child’s hair. The child was practically hysterical whimpering and shaking saying that she did not want the blow dryer. This went on for at least half an hour as I sat under the dryer, probably longer as the child had been in the salon for a while. The child’s mother/guardian was sitting there and telling the child to be quiet. The stylist told the child to calm down. This was very distressing to watch and obviously distressing for the child. I have had my hair blown dry in the past and the heat can be painful. While it was clearly none of my business and there may be other factors, maybe Cole Stevens stylists should not continue treatment in this circumstance. I dont want to use this forum to get into cultural issues when styling “tightly coiled” hair, “tenderheadedness”, etc , but this was not a good situation .

I do not recommend coming here. I had two relaxers done here, and the last one left my hair EXTREMELY dry. I do not think their expensive prices are worth their services. During my service my stylist gave me a treatment but I didn't know it didn't come with the relaxer services. Why not communicate that? Be transparent, it's not hard. Just go somewhere else.

They no heat but heaters that don't get hot at all. You're literally shaking as you're getting your hair done- even the stylist are braiding in COATS! The stylist Alexia is very unprofessional. They do your hair how THEY want to do it. They tried pushing my appointment back 2 times after I already sent my deposit. Very unprofessional. My braids & parts are crooked & the stylist didn't even know what she was doing. DO NOT GO TO THE SALON!

Always a good time when getting my hair done here ! The staff are always nice . I love when they put movies to help pass the time while getting your hair done. My favorite stylist are Rebecca , Sarah ,Emily and Dudu.

I am so sick of business taking our money and not giving customers service. This is my second time coming to Fatou and I’m really shocked at the service.

Wanted the jumbo knotless braids for my style $160 Of course when she was done my hair was fine. But the very next morning (Sunday) all of the ends of my hair were out of my braids. I called on Sunday they were closed. Monday, no one answered my call and on Tuesday someone picked up.

The first girl who answered was rude because I mistakenly said Sunday. She cut me off and wasn’t trying to let me finish. She then passes the phone to the middle chair person. The middle chair person gave me a number to send the pictures of my hair to.

I received no reply. I then DM them on IG to show them the pictures. The only read the message with no reply.

I wasn’t asking for a refund nor was i asking to get my hair done over. I wanted my stylist to at least SEE her mistakes and they could have just gave me a discount for the next time because I always need my hair done.

Not only did they not take care of me but they are also using me as free promo for their work on IG and have the audacity to ignore me as if I didn’t just come there.

Communication is key and idc how many ppl come there you lost a potential valued paying costumer due to being rude, lack of communication, and not caring about the costumer at all!

I got the deep conditioning, hydrating treatment. Loved the treatment and loved my stylist! Did not like how I was waiting an hour and a half for a 30min appointment . That should never happen especially when I scheduled in advance. I recommend making an appointment on a day where you have nothing else going on.

Went in for two strand twists and hydration treatment with Zoey(sp?). Checking in was a bit awkward, and initially I got the vibe from the woman at the desk that I was out of place, but my stylist was warm and quickly made me feel comfortable and welcome. I was offered many different hair care tips to improve handling my hair day to day. The stylist was able to manage my several different textures of hair, even combing and brushing without any pain or discomfort. In terms of the services provided I rate the experience five stars.

I took off the rating because when I initially called to make an appointment I was told that twists were 60-90 dollars depending on the stylist and I was charged 100. I asked for a 60 dollar stylist and clearly did not receive one. The cost is especially alarming because my hair is about seven inches long and the sides/back of my head are shaved. The amount of work did not constitute the cost in my opinion and honestly that circumstance is the sole reason I would look for a different stylist for the future.

If you’re not a college student on a budget like me then I highly recommend Zoey because she’s got skills.

Made an appointment to get braids Friday for
Rebeca and she had someone else do my hair. The lady was very rude. My hair is natural and very thick. My braids in the front was neat and the back was raggedy. I told I didn’t like them and she walked out and never came back. I sat there almost 30 mins and for someone to finish my hair and they told me they were closing soon. I wasted 2hours just to get half of my hair done. I left the shop because they did not want to finish my hair. This is the worst shop in DC. Rebeca clams she was not going to be there to do my hair because she was leaving early but was still in the shop doing other people hair. This place is unprofessional, I’m never going back because of their unprofessionalism. I never experienced this disrespect form an African Hair Shop. Don’t waste your MONEY OR TIME!!

I felt comfortable in salon to get my hair cut; and, it was my first time there. I recommend all ladies to go there for their wonderful service to feel brand new!

Been here numerous of times to get my hair done '
There are only two people I prefer to do my hair and Rebecca is one of them ' However they are overpriced '. today I took my youngest daughter to get French braids and they weren't done neatly they charged me $10 to wash her hair out. It's a lady who stands at the front door and does hair as soon as you walk in she has a very loud mouth and she's always arguing with the employees. As an adult it's a better way to communicate with people as soon as I walked in she said that my daughter's hair was dirty and nappy and my child has a good texture of hair she did have dried-up gel in her hair from her previous hairstyle' .. 3 stars only because theirs some people in there who doesn't know what they're doing and also theirs some employees being taking advantage of! I don't fairly think that's how a business supposes to operate.
