The place is nice and clean. It gives you a very clam and relaxing atmosphere when you enter.

Hubert patiently went through in details about my needs and how the treatment will proceed since it’s our first session. He ensure I’m comfortable with the deep pressure, yet still able to relief my tension/stress. I felt complete relaxation throughout the whole treatment.

I’m glad and impressed with Hubert’s treatment, as he is very professional, warm and friendly. I certainly will go back again!

So glad I found this place! I was having a flare up of chronic neck pain, so I booked a massage with Hubert. I’ve had massages before at various chain clinics, but this was SO much more effective and thorough. Hubert really tailored the massage to my specific needs, and it’s clear he really knows what he’s doing. My pain was so much better afterwards! I also really appreciate that at-home self-care exercises were recommended.

The clinic is a very relaxing environment, very lovely and clean. Hubert was so friendly and welcoming from the beginning! I will definitely be coming back!

The worst massage I ever had!

I got a 60 min massage last week from Tom. I walked into their shop and since it was my first time I was asked to fill out a couple of forms which I did. Tom waited and from the corner of my eye I could sense the impatience as he glared at the form. Once I finished he greeted me and took me to one of the back rooms where horrible, disrupted, lazy, soft, amateur pressing and guessing went on for an hour. I specifically told him to focus on my shoulders and upper back area and he focused on everything else but that. First 20 min he was just feeling my body trying to find god knows what, and the rest of the massage was pretty forgettable. I asked Tom at least 3 times to put extra pressure as he was pretty much just running his hands without really doing much, he would nail me with a short-lived pressure and then it was back to fairy hands. I guess Tom was tired as I was his last client of the day and maybe he needed a massage himself. At around 57 min mark he did the slap-the-back thing, and said finished, goodnight, and walked out. I thought it was just my personal experience and other masseuse would be better, but today my wife went in for her massage with another masseuse and it was just as bad. Never returning!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I booked the 3 pm service and had mistaken the time for 4. I realized it 20 minutes past the scheduled time and called the store to apologize for my mistake. The store told me that the therapist was still in and that I could still proceed with my appointment if I came within the next 5 minutes. I said ok and thanked the person on the phone; the call ended at 3:22.

When I walked inside the store at 3:30, the receptionist then told me that the therapist left. This is the moment when I decided to leave this one-star review. The reasons are listed below:

1. I am fully aware of the store policy and was ready to accept the consequence when I realized that I had the wrong appointment time. However, I would have NEVER wasted my time driving all the way to the store if the receptionist didn’t tell me that I still could.

2. I arrived at the store 8 minutes after our phone call ended. Why didn’t I receive any phone call or message if the therapist had decided to leave within those 8 minutes? Terrible communication.

3. The receptionist was very rude with her delivery after I arrived and didn’t even say sorry for my time wasted from driving all the way there, nor for her lack of communication.

Mistakes often happen from the customer’s end or the business’ end. It’s not a make or break most of the time until there isn’t any effort being put in for conflict resolution. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in how the receptionist handled this situation so terribly.

edit: do not go here. the owner heavily implied I should take down this review because they're a small business instead of addressing my issues at all. a small business is still accountable for their actions. she wrote an apology publicly here but did not apologize to me privately at any point. she emailed me via her personal email to deflect blame, as you can see her doing below. with this review, out of respect, I took the time to write a detailed email with my experience and a request to delete my health information and for correction of the action, which clearly had not been done. I don't even think she read it. she asked me what she could do to fix this issue even though I clearly stated my complaint and wishes.

I have since retracted the email since it's clear that the owner and Georgia are incapable of taking accountability. "wellness" is a joke when you don't actually care for the wellness of your clients. this "therapy centre" only cares about their reputation and profit motive, not about being ethical or resolving issues. good luck if you see them. these people should not be practicing in the healthcare industry because they are overstepping their boundaries and they aren't good at service in the first place.

original review: I had an extremely unprofessional experience with Georgia. she pushed her pseudoscientific beliefs on me during my massage, which was incredibly inappropriate. firstly, she advised me to see a naturopath in their clinic, which I disliked but moved on from. then, after asking me if I had any stressors and learning about a recent loss, she told me to see a hypnotherapist to "fix my energy" and talk to the dead instead of offering sympathy like a normal person. she also asked if the loss was "sudden" as if looking for a reason in my life to blame for my illness. lastly, she insinuated out of the blue that my health issues were my fault because I got the covid vaccine, and left the room firmly telling me not to get more vaccines. this is such a dangerous thing to tell someone, especially in a vulnerable setting like a massage. I can't think of a more selfish and unintelligent belief than being against vaccines, and it makes me question this clinic's commitment to the wellbeing of its patients. I worry that they are not seriously taking measures to sanitize, test for illness, or stay home when sick given Georgia's beliefs.

after my massage, she gave me business cards of all these "practioners" she recommended. clearly, she had a personal affiliation with them, and I felt violated that she had essentially used my private health information as an opportunity to advertise. I've honestly never interacted with someone so callously willing to spread their beliefs without any respect to the person they're speaking to, especially as a purported healthcare professional.

I can't speak to the rest of the clinic, which I went to because of its good reviews. the website advertises many other pseudoscientific "alternative medicines" such as craniosacral therapy, reiki, and reflexology. while it's one thing to advertise false cure-alls, it's another to make a customer uncomfortable in a setting they literally are unable to leave. this is a violation of the responsibility any healthcare professional has towards their patients. I am really disappointed and considering reporting this to the regulatory body for RMTs.

Me & my husband have been seeing Hubert since last year and have observed so much relieve in our muscle pain. He has a very good pressure and works on points to relieve the pain. We love the vibe of his clinic. It’s very relaxing & clean. He always has answer and suggestions regarding stiffness and pain releasing day to day exercise. (He shared links and images of fix the postures which was very kind of him.) He is always punctual never have to wait to get your turn. His reminding emails are helpful. We highly recommend him. Once you go to him it’s like you never want to go anywhere. He is the best!

I received a massage from Sasa to address my lower back pain. Her expertise and unique hand techniques at the pain points were exceptional.Her focused approach and unique hands techniques provided significant relief, and I felt the tension melting away. I highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a massage. Booking was easy to do online and receptionist are welcoming and they do direct billing. Overall, great place for massage.

Great experience on the first massage that I had with Hubert last Sunday. Hubert spent the time listening to my physical concerns with patience. Hubert goes the extra mile to ensure my comfort and efficiently conducts the assessment. He’s very professional and friendly. He also did follow up after the treatment and provided detailed instructions on some exercises that can help relieving my neck/shoulder pain. His new clinic is very stylish with the design that can calm you down for the treatment. I have tried a few RMT, Hubert is the best so far. I’ve already booked my next appointment with Hubert. I have tried many massage places but I was never as happy as I was after this visit. The therapist was great and worked on all my aches. The facility is also very clean and the receptions are very nice to deal with. I will definitely be back.

I have been seeing Hubert for the two years and it's nice to see that his practice has grown so much! Hubert has good pressure and works with you on what you are hoping to alleviate. His clinic is well cared for and is clean and proper. He has good availability if you book ahead (seems like he's always working). I highly recommend him.

My go to place for a massage. The place is clean and comfy. There’s a sauna and two showers available. The ladies are super friendly and accommodating. Never once had a problem with any of them. Prices are fair.

The staff here is always friendly and professional. Both my partner and I had excellent experiences with the massage therapists. Definitely our favorite massage therapy centre in the Markham area.

Update: The bedsheets can be improved. Sometimes it is pilled and rough and very tiny stains are noticeable at times.

This clinic is awesome. Close to home, and they pick top quality staff to work through your problems. I've been here for acupuncture, RMT, and physio. I know I sound like I have a lot of problems but this clinic definitely solved a lot of them!

I’m not a person who writes many reviews but I have been a customer at Zenstones for a number of years and it is by far the best holistic wellness place I have ever visited. The staff are incredibly professional and focus on accommodating me the client. Whatever my needs might be at the time. The rooms are clean the showers are spotless, the attendants are courteous and caring, and the service is second to none. If you are looking for a place where you will feel completely rejuvenated when you’re done, I recommend that you come to Zenstones.

I went here yesterday for a massage. The receptionist (the one with the glasses) took it upon herself to give me the massage. She assured me that she's an RMT. I had the most atrocious massage ever. I had to pause midway and ask if she's actually a masseuse. She said she's not and does acupuncture. I'm all sore and in pain now from the massage. Never again visiting here and you'd be better advised to stay away from here as well.

Relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Anne has done an amazing job helping me with my shoulder issues! One thing to note is that they really push to do direct billing to your insurance so if you'd prefer to claim on your own like I did, best to state this before your appointment.

Pregnancy Massage at Holmetead Massage Therapy was fantastic! The ambiance was relaxing, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the masseuse was skilled in catering to my specific needs. I saw Tanya for a 45 minute massage focusing on my back, neck, and shoulders. She did a wonderful job and the prices at Holmestead are very reasonable! From my interaction with Tanya to the ambience that they create at the massage studio, I can tell that Tanya really cares about her clients. I'll be back for sure! There was also ample street parking.

Had a 60 min massage with Michelle. She was very welcoming and kind. She was very open to finding the right pressure together. She was also amazing at balancing making great conversation and leaving moments of peace (I never felt pressured to talk if I didn't have anything to say and I felt encouraged to speak if I wanted to).

Sonia is amazing as an acupuncturist! I’ve been going back to her for at least 6 months now. Ann is also a great masseuse. I always feel wonderful after. The vibe is amazing here- friendly, clean, quiet. Receptionists are always ready to check you in. I love that there’s parking right outside so no need to walk into another building to find it.

Tanya(rmt) and Melissa (osteopath) best at what they do! They take their time to work out the places that need focus. I have had really bad, chronic back issues for as long as I can remember. Both their treatments made a good combination for therapy and I can finally see improvements in my back. Thank you so so much! It's been a while since I felt this kind of relief!

Brian is a great massage therapist. It's hard to find an Active Release Technique (ART) therapist. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money for Brian and his ART work. He is very knowledgable and has a lot of experience. I have no experience with other therapist, so can't speak about them.

Such a great experience. I can see why they are so booked. Located in such a cute old house on main street in Markham. My first time here and Nicole is amazing! Very friendly and she relieved my shoulder, neck and back pain. She made my day with her positive energy and amazing massage. Definitely my massage place from now on!

Excellent service. Been going to Dr. Chiu's clinic for years for orthopedic services for myself and oldest daughter since she was 6 years old. I highly recommend him to get fitted. My daughter is comfortable with his assessments and his thorough paperwork are never an issue when claiming benefits.

I have been seeing Tanya for pre-natal massages for the last few months. She is a wonderful RMT and I would highly recommend her. I have had side lying massages which I didn't love, because it's just not as comfortable and relaxing. But Tanya has an amazing pregnancy pillow that lets you lay on your stomach and it makes a huge difference. The clinic is clean and the oil that she uses does not leave you feeling greasy afterwards. 100% would recommend!

Had my first massage here this morning since my regular therapist canceled on me. Business is right on Markham Road with free street parking on both sides. It's on the second floor of a house. The massage room I was in was large & cozy. Nicole gave me a nice deep tissue massage. May start coming here every other month.

I have been going to Balanced Living for number of years. People are nice and professional. Clinic is very clean with extra precautions for COVID, and I feel very safe during my massage sessions.
Brian is the best massage therapist I had come across, he always finds my tense spots to work on and is a valuable help to my stress and mobility. Other therapists in this clinic are also very good, so if Brian is not available I would not hesitate to book an appointment with another therapist at Balanced Living.

The owner was rude anyhow will not recommend this place its ones choice to visit this place.

My wife and I have been coming to Balanced Living for a number of years. I work in a high stress job and carry stress throughout my back. Brian and his amazing team can always find and provide me with relief. When I first came into receive craniosacral therapy for my TMJ pain, I had no idea what to expect. I was in SO much pain and I had heard about this type of therapy through a friend. I contacted the clinic and received a phone call within the same day to book within the next few days. The RMTs at this clinic are incredible and really care about improving ones wellness and health. I have gone back 4 times since then and I am as good as new with FULL range in my jaw and no headaches. I will be going back for maintenance appointments! Thank you!!

I made an appointment with Brian and I was really happy with his service. You can tell that he is very experienced and well rounded. He talks you through what he is doing, why certain areas may be hurting, what to do and how it helps. He educates you from start to finish on what you can do to decrease and/or prevent these pains on your own. The education piece is a first for me - thanks for the tips!

I feel comfortable in booking with any RMT here since they all do a stellar job. I think I've booked with 4 of them over the past few years, just depending on my schedule and who is available.
I've never had any issue and I always leave satisfied. Very friendly and professional team.
I've recently moved out of the Markham area and tried different clinics near me, but they've all been rather disappointing. To me, it's worth the drive up to the Markham area to continue going to Solace.

I first started coming here for RMT appointments- Lee-Anne is fantastic. She’s professional and provides good insight and treatment for your problem areas. A few months ago I ended up with a bad shoulder strain injury due in part to compression of nerves in my neck. I was in so much pain I couldn’t even sleep or rest for 4 days since all positions were painful. My doctor only prescribed pain killers which didn’t work and referred me to see a physiotherapist and RMT. When I went to see Lee-Anne she suggested I try the chiropractor, Dr. Chiu. I was skeptical at first but he was able to provide relief for the pain almost immediately (no adjustments). I only went to the physiotherapist once, since I found Dr. Chiu’s treatments to be more effective in reducing the pain and inflammation and eventually strengthening range of movement through proper stretches. Within one month I was back to normal with just a bit of weakness that got better after the exercises he showed me. Both these practitioners have an excellent understanding of how your muscles, nerves and spine work together. I felt that the treatments I received worked because they treated my body as a system rather than one dysfunctional part. I highly recommend this clinic.

Been seeing Sarah for my muscle tics and shoulder/back tightness for about 8 months now, and she works absolute wonders. Friendly, very professional, and manages a quiet and clean clinic. I look forward to each visit and she's helped enormously with relieving the stress and anxiety off my back - she definitely takes time and care with her patients.

Over the years, I have tried a number of RMTs across the GTA and I must say that Lee-Anne is by far the best. She is a thorough professional who genuinely cares about making her patients feel better. She is excellent at what she does and has helped me deal with multiple sports injuries. My husband and I have been frequent patients of Dr. Chiu for more than 8 years. He is our first and best choice whenever we have problems with our neck and back. In our mind, he is not simply a chiroprator for doing adjustments on neck, back and feet, we also consider him as our massage or physio therapist. He is very knowledgeable and has so much experience to know where the pains are in our bodies and uses his hands to help fixing the pains. I have been seeing Lee-Anne, RMT, for about a year. She is attentive while she listens to your concerns and comes up with a plan for the duration of the massage. Her hands are magical and can relax even the tightest muscles! I always leave feeling at ease and at the end of the appointment she will give you stretches and tips to keep those muscles healthy. Unlike any other massage therapist, Lee-Anne makes your visit feel luxurious, using a special heated cream, hot stones at the end of your back massage, and even a bottle of water to go.

I highly recommend Dr. Daniel Chiu. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. I recovered from my last back injury in 4 sessions and I now go regularly for preventive care. I am also extremely satisfied with the orthotics that I got at Markville Massage Therapy Clinic. Dr. Chiu is an excellent chiropractor.

Dr. Daniel Chiu is one of the best chiropractors I have ever met. He is very professional and friendly as well as knowledgeable. Most importantly he doesn’t push for more hours and give you honest assessments. My last back injury occurred back in August and his initial assessment was for me to feel 85-90% better after 3 sessions. And sure enough that was all I needed and he was honest to tell me that unless I want to go back, I should be fine and taught me a number of home stretches that I can do to help improve my back strength. I really appreciate the no pressure and professional manner that he exemplifies. I now go once a month to release the tension that I build up from sitting at a desk all day (instead of waiting for an injury to happen first before I find him). Thanks Daniel!
