Lovely forest Park, plenty of parking spaces we paid £3.00 as we was here over 2 hours has toilets here a cafe can get hot and cold food and ice cream too 🍦 lots of different routes to walk on or take your bike 🚲 we went in the maze that was fun trying to find the way out. Seen some beautiful wooden sculptures we had a picnic by the pond with all the lily pads really a nice well kept place. We passed many people with dogs is a dog friendly place. Also places to play football with small goals already built up
Really enjoyed out time here was walking for hours 😂
We will be back again soon definitely

This is a lovely park. Good central car park with fairly accessible paths for wheelchair or limited access. Nice cafe that serves hot and cold food and drink.

Took my doggie for a walk here. Very wide paths, plenty of fun spaces for kiddos to play in, huge number of paths too. Pretty flowers and trees on display. Gorgeous and not too crowded.

This is one of my favourite local places to visit. I visit at least once a week for a walk around the park.
There are plenty of benches to stop and rest or to just soak up nature.
They have a fab cafe and gelato shack. Decent toilet facilities. Awesome children's play area just outside the cafe and even a hard football pitch.

There's a cafe with some outside and a little inside seating .
It sells basic food with a some hot.
The cafe gets very busy.
Toilets available.
Benches available.
There are coloured walkways around the park to follow.
A map at the beginning shows the routes.
Would suggest you take a picture of this map, as we found that once you get into the forest alot of the signs weren't there and it was a little confusing as there are many path options.
Small paths, suitable for buggies with larger wheels.
Slightly overgrown in some areas.
Suitable for both dogs and children, but be aware in some areas of the walk you're near the road.
Lots of parking available but it does cost.
You will need cash, or the Pay to Park app.
Up to 2 hours £2
Over 2 hours £3.
Current prices June 2024.
Worth a visit.

A small, recreated viking/Saxon village. Half a dozen houses & a pig run. We happened upon a larping day with some roleplaying vikings, which was fun. Outside is a big play area for kids, plenty of parking, and usually a cafe (unfortunately closed when we visited)

A good museum to visit many interesting artifacts including reconstructed buildings to represent the time of the Saxons

We really enjoyed our time here at this beautiful park. By combining the Lake Walk and the Pumphouse Route we managed a decent afternoon's stroll, with my son stopping to climb lots of trees en route. Parking was £3 all day, although the machine swallowed our money without issuing a ticket, but the gentleman at the visitor centre was able to help out.

Really nice place to spend time with family and friends together with nature, kids love explore and it's fine to take friendly pets, got an amazing walk around the lake. Staff is very friendly and helpful, got the ancient village, Anglo-Saxon museum and a nice coffee for a snack. Although it says open till 19.00 that's only in summer time, winter season closes at 17.00.

A lovely park with great walks. A wide variety of different tree species which creates a spread of many colours. Different paths and routes marked out for different areas. lots of wildlife and places to explore. A great place to visit for all the family including the dog. There is a small cafe by the carpark and some picnic benches if you want to take your own picnic.

Visited twice in August. Fantastic place for everyone. Great wooded areas and trails for the dog walkers, large open spaces and a maze for the kids, cafe and car park (Carpark fee applies, pay by Ringo App).

Really nice place for a walk. Kids enjoyed the Beowulf and Grendel Trail and the playground. Did get a little lost so maybe the signs could be a little clearer and the pumphouse was lovely to see but could do with a little clean up around it as was very overgrown.

Great park. Large car park. Planned route walks with details of lengths and times on map board. Cafe and outside vendor selling lunch, ice creams and drinks. Picnic benches both in the cafe area and on the green next to the car park. Large open grass areas for playing. Tree maze 10 minutes walk from car park.
A really pleasant day out.

Excellent walks and quiet surroundings well worth a visit. Dog friendly, also has cafe at the Anglo Saxon museum adjoining.

Great place for a walk - we did the lake walk and saw a host of insects, bugs and birds. Seems to be popular for people fishing, too. There's also a play park that the children all really enjoyed, including ours. There are picnic benches and there's a cafe at the visitor centre, which we didn't use. Pretty decent toilets at the main car park, as well.
Sadly, one star off for the car parking arrangements: it's cash or RingGo, but mobile signal is very poor in the area making the absence of pay by card facilities pretty much unfathomable.

Beautiful walk around the lake that was easy to follow. It was nice to see information points on a areas of the walk which showed key information dating back to Anglo saxon. It kept an 11 and 6 year old girls entertained as well as a young dog.
Dogs can go off lead providing it's during certain times of the year (invest in an extendable lead if going in summer months). Never known flock birds to be so friendly (minus mummy Swan with 4 cygnets). Followed as down some of the path/walk a few times, which was cute.
It's definitely not for those who cannot walk far but did see an electric scooter user using the trail.
The water was so clear and blue the pictures do it no justice. Anglers were seen fishing and there were a lot of areas for them to set up and fish (every 2 meters was a new place).
Definite must see even if its just once!
