Great experience. Damian is a brilliant teacher with the best attitude. Lessons here may be a little more expensive than other schools but well worth it because a) you wont be charged for set-up/take-down which many other schools do and b) Damian and his instructors are top class and you’ll see faster results. Much recommended!

My fantastic experience began when I first reached out to Tracey prior to my trip. She was always quick to reply and responsive to my questions. She even coordinated my lodging, which was about 100 feet away from the school. Perfect! She made me feel like family, and thats fitting because the school and the adjoining restaurant are family owned and operated. My instructor was fantastic - a real pro. He made sure I had a solid grasp of things at each stage (I’m a beginner), but also didn’t waste any time. He got me on the board and in the water quickly. This is definitely the place to learn - perfect conditions and wonderful teachers. I can’t wait to go back.

Great place to rent your board from! Communication is really easy though whatsapp, and the fact that it is a mobile surf shop makes it easy!

Thom at Progress Kitesurf was a patient, observant instructor that kept me learning at a safe and measured speed. I felt very secure and developed a lot of trust in him. Teaching is a difficult thing to master and he does it so well. I deeply appreciated his ability to spend time on the details all while pushing me to do more as I became ready for the next step. Thom was so patient and kept with me in the water every day, every step of the way. Yohan and Cabo were also amazing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Progress Kitesurf if you're looking for instructors that care - and work really hard.

This is an excellent location and school for kite surfing. My instructor Thomas did a great job of assessing my skill level and giving me the exact lesson I was looking for as well as challenging my limits. I felt completely safe in the water and independent even though Thomas had a handle on me as I practiced the different body dragging techniques in deep water. Thank you Yohan for providing a school and experience I learned so much from in such a short period of time. I highly recommend this school and hope to visit again in the near future.

TO BE HONEST DAMIEN!!! My man!!! He is a great teacher. I was able to get up on the board with 3 lessons. Definitely learning how to handle the kite was key. Damien was patient and had so much energy!!!

I had a great experience at the kite school. My teacher Jerson was very professional in teaching and he was there for me for every single step while learning kiting from the very beginning. I felt comfortable and safe throughout the whole journey and every day I was excited to learn more and do my lessons.

I can really recommend this kite school. They know what they are doing and they have a lovely atmosphere at the school. I hope to return one day 🌞💚

Yo so I just finished 2 hours of practice with mon ami "Thomas" after helping out Hugo with a lil foot injury (non kite related) and omg the understanding respect and love i have for this sport is huge now hes so pacient and helpfull and has such and great energy about him thanks alot my du! Learning with Kitepoint school was a fantastic decision! Situated in the prime location of Cabarete, it offers the perfect setting for learning kitesurfing. The instructors are true professionals, adept at conveying each detail with clarity, ensuring you grasp every nuance of the sport. Kitesurfing demands making numerous crucial decisions based on various inputs, underscoring the significance of understanding the interconnectedness and honing both mind and body. Hence, the emphasis on clear instructions becomes absolutely vital for an enriching and successful learning experience!. Kites were basically new and the rest of equipment was also pretty top notch. Can’t wait to come back next year!!!

I rented wing foil equipment here and had a good experience with you an and his team. They are very friendly and offered a good package for renting for the month. They also have lots of kite gear if that’s your sport. I recommend working with them to rent your gear!

Tracy and Jose run a great family business. The communication level was high and they were very helpful in planning every step of our trip from transportation from the airport to the accommodation (we stayed next door to the school at the Kite Surf Inn). Everyone on the staff from the instructors to the folks at the Cocotazo Restaurant were fantastic. Very friendly and fun, everyone's English was at least better than my Spanish.

We went for instruction as complete novices. Their instructors and equipment are top notch. All of their kites and harnesses appear to be brand new. The instructors communicate concepts and techniques very well, my instructor Ellie was very patient, teaching this old dog new tricks. I left with a good base of knowledge to continue my progression back here in Florida.

We did the all inclusive 7 day package. It was a great value, again the Inn where we stayed was modest and pretty basic, not a luxury resort, but it had a pool, and a fantastic beach front deck. The Inn Keeper Kenny was great and very helpful organizing a couple of late night meals for us and having a service take care of our laundry.

The food at the Cocotazo restaurant was simple but the highest quality. You get one meal a day included, and we ate and drank most of our other meals there for the week, fresh smoothies, beer and rum at the end of the day and the prices were very fair, I ran a tab and at the end of the week my bill was $70US, and I put down a lot of food!

Not only would I recommend using this school for your training, I plan on going back and taking my children when they get a little bigger. Two thumbs up for sure!

Absolutely wonderful experience.
Our coach, Thomas, came up to us on our first day on the beach and offered us his services which we were very pleased to accept. Me and my brother were with him for three days and about 6 hours in total where we progressed rapidly through his classes. He is dedicated, well mannered, and very eager to see you succeed. In three days I went from not knowing a thing to almost being able to stand up on the board. Additionally, the boss, management and other coaches in the school are also extremely friendly people. I Learned a new skill while also being able to practice my french.
If I were to come back there’d be no other place Id go to learn another water sport.

Progress Kitesurf was AMAZING! The employees were so nice and helpful. My friends and I had never been kitesurfing before and they were very accommodating and let us try to direct the kite on our first day! They spoke English which was very helpful when they gave us directions. Cabarete is also a beautiful beach with perfect winds for the sport! I would love to come back and take more lessons!

Great kite school, kite spot and food. We loved our time here! The owner and instructors were great, making us feel super confident during lessons for my husband and a refresher lesson for me. We stayed right on site at the little hotel and wandered out for kite lessons each day. When you’re done kiting, grab a bite at the delicious restaurant, watch sunset while you have a drink and live your best life!

Damien and his team are an absolute delight to learn from! Patient and passionate, I totally recommend him to learn:!) bonus french speaking also! Gave me the perfect foundation to keep going and fall in love with 🪁🪁🪁

I came from Canada to Cabarete to learn how to kitesurf and Cabarete Kite Point School was the best decision! I purchased their all inclusive package, which included accommodation, 9 hours of lessons and food.
My instructor, Edwind, was super knowledgeable, patient, friendly and he speaks great English! Lessons were thorough and helped me learned safely and with confidence. On my 4th day I was able to get on the board and ride both directions! 😃 all thanks to the great instructor!
All the gear at school is new and they have huge variety of everything, to make sure you feel comfortable and safe.
The food at elcocotazo cafe was spectacular! Super fresh and delicious. And they have the best spot on the kite beach to hang out, watch the other kiters and make new friends.
I also got an amazing accommodation right on the beach with a fantastic view!
Tracy, the owner, was super helpful and hospitable. It was my first solo trip and she made sure I felt safe and was very supportive. She made me feel like home. I just couldn’t be happier!
Overall, it was absolutely amazing experience and I can’t wait to get back!

We had such a nice time that we decided to come back for a second lesson. Jared and Osne were really good at explaining and helping us out in the water. One would stay close to shore to send us back to the other one further in the waves I was able to stand up and stay on my board every time which was great! We will be back! 😀

Ty so much to Damien and his team; safety, patience, flexibility and lots of enthusiasm were key elements during the lessons we took! With 2 teenagers and 2 adults we all had different levels and expectations, Damien and his team did an amazing job. Communication ahead of our trip via WhatsApp to book the lessons and once we were there to coordinate all was a breeze. We highly recommend this school as they really stood out in their thoughtfulness of teaching technique and safety.

Damien is a great instructor: very patient, clear and supportive. Although the wind conditions weren't perfect for the days in the low season that I was there, he was able to adapt our lessons so that I still made a lot of progress. Cabarete itself is also a great place to learn, even for a beginner like me. I really enjoyed my time learning at Pro Kite and I'm already looking forward to coming back to Cabarete to advance my skills!

Damien is a great instructor. He is patient, attentive, and you feel safe taking lessons from him. I completed the 4 day Riding lessons. It was a great experience and the lessons were paced in a way that you were always ready to take on and apply the new skills. Having a radio with you in the water to hear his coaching was a great tool to be able to execute and tweak the skills and movements you learned to help you master them in the water. I would go back to ProKite for further coaching or equipment rentals.

During my stay in Cabarete I did a three day beginner course (6 hours) with Damien. I enjoyed every minute of it. After four hours I was able to do some waterstarts and even a small ride (!!) Couldn’t be more happy. Damien is such an enthusiastic and very patient teacher. Very easy to communicate with. He knows exactly what he is doing and is very professional but at the same time always in for a joke and a laugh. Would really recommend to everyone who wants to learn kiteboarding but also wants to have a great day!

I highly recommend Kele instructor Jared for his teaching skills as well as for very good spoken English. I had my first ever lesson and he truly made me feel safe in the water. I definitely learned a lot during just one session.
