Great place to catch fish and rock crab
With a perfect view of the golden gate bridge. Paid parking, only one pay machine was working when we were there.

It is a very scenic spot to see the Golden gate and skyline by night.
It is also a great spot for crabbing! Just bring your crab nets, put some chicken legs/thighs as bait and wait 10min. We got good size rock and dungeness crab very quickly.
We brought a pot and stove to cook on the spot. Very cool experience!

This is a great place to soak in the sights of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco skyline from a vantage point on the waterside just below the famous bridge.
A pier just out into the water and one gets an even better view from it. On a clear day the views are amazing and the golden reflected light of the setting sun from the myriad skyscrapers in the far background on one side and the bridge on the other side, is a sight to behold.
One gets to see the sea gulls and other aquatic birds gliding in formation with supreme grace and small yachts and surfers catching the wind in breathtaking manoeuvres.
A few people are trying their angling skills to catch fish and crabs and the others are just having a stroll and enjoying the sights and the breeze.
There is a cafeteria and shopping place in an adjacent building but it closes down quite early so you may carry your own stuff if you wish to spend more time at this place.
Free parking is available by the waterside.
All in all a great place to spend some quiet time in a very nice place!

Pier 14 has spectacular views of the Bay Bridge and city towers. People often spend time chilling here during evening hours and you can find some local fishermen catching varieties of fishes. It is worth visiting during day and night. You can see the beautiful Bay bridge and the Salesforce tower lit at night.

This is a very nice place to visit. There are a lot of restaurants, shops, games and rides and even a fruit stand. There are plenty of shops with souvenirs. The weather is always great on the bay. There are also seals and an aquarium. There is a parking garage across the street. Around $40 for the day.

A nice walking boardwalk. It is pretty touristy with lots to sell to children. I didn’t have my family with me which made it more enjoyable, but had they been there I would have been more perturbed with the number of marketing tactics targeting children.

The end of the pier is great. You see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Near view with a lot of history.

Pier 39 is one of the best places in the world. You can spend all day and night here. There’s so much to see and visit. I wish I had more time here. Food is spectacular, atmosphere is amazing, energy is high. It’s a great place to visit and spend time at. I will be back.

One of our fav places in the Bay Area! The atmosphere is so nice and there are so many gift shops and restaurants. Went there mid morning, bought some souvenirs and ate corn dogs. It was starting to get a little more crowded around noon but still totally okay to walk around and enjoy the pier. The views were fantastic!

Pier 39 is an absolute gem in San Francisco!
From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the vibrant atmosphere and stunning waterfront views.
The variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options is truly exceptional. I had a fantastic time exploring the unique boutiques and indulging in delicious seafood at one of the many waterfront eateries. The sea lions lounging around added an extra touch of charm to the experience.
The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a seamless visit. Pier 39 is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun-filled day in San Francisco!

1st time visiting the pier. We had a lot of fun going into all the shops and so many delicious places to eat and snack. It was pretty awesome to watch the sea lions on the docks. I just wish we had more time there. I highly recommend you visit. You won't be disappointed.

Pier 39 in San Francisco is a quintessential waterfront destination that never disappoints. The star attractions are undoubtedly the playful sea lions lounging on the docks, creating a delightful spectacle. Watching them is an absolute must.

Beyond the sea lions, Pier 39 offers a diverse mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Whether you're exploring the shops for unique souvenirs or savoring fresh seafood with bay views, there's something for everyone. The lively atmosphere, street performers, and the iconic Venetian carousel add to the charm.

Additionally, the Aquarium of the Bay provides an educational and immersive experience, and the bay cruises departing from here offer breathtaking perspectives of the city's landmarks. It's a fantastic spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to soak in the essence of San Francisco's waterfront. Don't forget your camera; the views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz are simply spectacular. 🌉🌊🦭🛍️🍽️🎡
After having brunch at nearby (sort of) Colibri, our gang decided to take a leisurely stroll as we were stuffed. That stroll turned into a mini hike as we ended up here by chance. I love having no agenda!

BRIEF HISTORY:
The original pier was built in 1854 (same year that Louis Vuitton was established, LOL) for the construction of nearby Ft. Point which is located beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. The current structure is from 1941.

EXPERIENCE;
Aside from fishing, this is the perfect spot to take in the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. You can’t get any closer on land!

Unfortunately the fog wasn’t letting up so all we could see were Ft. Point and the roadway deck. But, the skyline of the city was 100% visible.

TIP:
The Warming Hut, a retrieve from the blustery chill, is nearby and sells food, beverage & gifts.

OVERALL:
Nonchalant landmark with impressive results.

Nice place for family or friends. Lots of restaurants to try and arcades for kids. You can see so many sea lions here. This place also gives you a view of Alcatraz. Bit windy for evenings so may need a puffer jacket if you plan to take walk on the pier.

Pier 39 in San Francisco is an exhilarating blend of entertainment, dining, and scenic views. The lively atmosphere, filled with the chatter of visitors and the playful barking of sea lions, embodies the city's vibrant spirit. A plethora of shops offer unique souvenirs, while various eateries serve delicious seafood, especially the famed clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. The carousel and street performers add a touch of whimsy. With views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge on the horizon, Pier 39 is more than just a tourist spot; it's a delightful sensory experience that captures the essence of SF.

Pier 39 is a vibrant hotspot that embodies the spirit of San Francisco's waterfront. With its eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment, it's a place that offers something for everyone. The energetic sea lion colony is a delightful sight and adds to the unique atmosphere. The views of the bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge are spectacular. While it can get busy, the lively ambiance and variety of activities make it worth a visit. Whether you're shopping, dining, or simply enjoying the scenery, Pier 39 captures the essence of this iconic city by the bay.

While Pier 39 is a capitalist fever dream that felt a lot like Disney World, I can honestly say that I enjoyed it immensely. The views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz at sunset were surreal. The vibes were cheerful and wholesome. The sea lions were utterly charming. I spent hours here and the time flew by. Definitely a touristy spot, but I’d say it’s a worth a visit.

Great place to go fishing. People fishing are also super nice. If you care about anything in your car take it with you. If you care about your car park it where it will be monitored, which can be far. Although this area doesn’t have that many break ins based off my experiences. For the fisherman- strip bass, halibut, stingray and more often leopard sharks. Good fishing

Fog Harbour was a surprising treat!!!
You can't tell from the outside, but once you're inside, the restaurant looks and smells amazing!!! The friendly and helpful staff mixed with the fabulous atmosphere and great views (when there's no fog) makes this a great go to place to eat.

We had the Fish & Chips, the Crab and Steak & Fries. The appetizer was a cup of Clam Chowder and it was over the top savory and delicious!!! All our dishes were fantastic!!!

I strongly recommend pay the Fog Harbour a visit.

Sea lions. Restaurants. Overpriced sea food :/

Personally i recommend eating at Chowders. Their food is great, its not too expensive and the portions are just enough. I love the view at the end of the pier. Its beautiful. If you arent hungry, check out the sea lions and the amazing view of the oceans. You wont regret it.

It's on the way to Golden Gate, if you by bike from the city center, so you can't miss it. I wouldn't probably go there just to go there. However, the place offers a nice view of the bay, the bridge, and Alcatraz. There is a nice gift shop nearby.
Incontournable
After immersing ourselves in history of Golden Gate bridge, we ventured to Torpedo Wharf, a hidden gem that offered breathtaking views of the bridge and the city skyline during twilight. As the sun began to set, the bridge was bathed in a golden glow, creating a mesmerizing sight. We were fortunate to witness the bridge's transformation as the lights flickered to life, illuminating the night sky. The picturesque scenery combined with the peaceful ambiance made for a truly magical experience.

The surrounding trails (about a mile downhill- Battery east trailhead) offered a perfect escape from the bustling city, allowing us to immerse ourselves in nature's tranquility. We meandered along the paths, surrounded by lush greenery and the refreshing scent of eucalyptus trees. The trails catered to various skill levels, accommodating both leisurely strolls and more adventurous hikes. Every turn brought new surprises and vistas, showcasing the stunning landscape that makes this area so special.

The Hornblower cruse has been picking up since September of 2021. It has more and more Hispanic party events at night (mostly over the weekend, some even has life band). More school graduation parties( high school, college, etc). I think they are going to set up regular brunch cruises.
I had few *hook up* for different event night cruises. The boat went underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, pass by Alcatraz, and went through the Bay Bridge. It was spatacula scenery with and without the foggy nights.
Great place to be!

Just South of the Alemeda ferry landing, a modern walkway out onto the bay. When the weather is cold and windy in SF, this area can be a nice spot to warm up. Benches are a comfy respite, bring a sandwich and a cupajoe.

A small area with a decent fishing pier, benches, and nice views.

There's a public fishing pier with pole holders and two benches and a small table for measuring whatever you've caught. Outside the pier, there are a few other benches and a bar and parking lot really close by. There's lots of bird poop on the pier and I didn't see anyone fishing, but it's still an okay park.

Great spot to walk out on and look at the Bay Bridge and Bay. There are always a few fisherman casting on the pier and it’s pretty quiet when there isn’t a game. You can also check out the sail boats in the marina and occasionally see sea lions swim through.

Crowded during the day, but absolutely empty after 8PM.

In winter, when the Bay Bridge is lit up for the SF illuminations, this is a great spot to come to for some night photos. It's quiet and you pretty much have the whole space to yourself, outside of some sparsely positioned fishermen.

One thing to note though, the lamps seem to be malfunctioning at times, so rather than a picturesque pier out of some campy romance film, it feels more like a scene out of Stranger Things where you're entering the Upside Down.

A peaceful place to linger for awhile and commune with the ducks 🦆
This is a sacred place for a lot of us locals. It's one of the last old time fishing piers left. I do clean up there multiple times a year of all the cups, cigaret buds, food wrappers... that unconscious people leave in the rocks or on the path. I do this as a tiny way to give back to Mother Earth and then I jump in the bay right there for a refreshing swim watching out not to get caught in a friend fishing line. : ) I hope many people can and will enjoy our bay and public pier, I only ask you to be mindful to clean up your own debris and maybe, just maybe, clean up a little more?

This place according to me is one of the best spots on Embarcadero to admire the Bay bridge, go for a walk and take some pictures. Not too crowded and you'll usually see people with cameras. Specially good for golden hour or sunset which shows exactly at the back so you have a nice view of the city skyline. There's also a big boat called San Francisco Belle standing there which adds to the scenery. Love this spot!

A view of the Bay from the East side of San Francisco, where there used to be extensive railyards and industrial plants. A view over the remaining shipyard with its drydocks, and the remnants of piers of long ago that poke out of the water in strange shapes. Behind is the new Baskball Stadium, Chase Center, offices of Mission Bay and new residences. The Park has been around for a long time, with people using it's Pier for fishing, and some people walk dogs, have picnics and it is a nice place to sit and ponder all the changes.

Lovely walk right out to the open sea without the distractions of like pier 39!! And whether in the noon sun or evening this is worth walking right to the end! Imagine when a huge container ship comes by!! And the fishermen all so patient waiting for the fishes to bite.. often missed. But worth a walk if you have 2 hours or more at the pier..

We took the Hornblower out of pier 3 for their 2018 Christmas Day Dinner Cruise. It was so much fun! I highly recommend it if you are looking for a Different way to celebrate the day. It was an all you can eat Buffett with a cash bar. The food was Great. And they had live music to dine and dance to.
We had all adults in our party of 10, but I did see children on the cruise too. There honestly is nothing for them to do on there though.
The cruise around Alcatraz and the bay and sunset on the Golden Gate bridge was breath taking.
And the decor was festive but not overkill if you don't celebrate the holidays.
We did this instead of giving gifts this year and honestly, I take the memories over a store brought gift any day.

A peaceful pier at the bay area.
I visited in the evening, and it was calm and quiet. It is a desired spot for photographers because we could capture a magnificent view of the Transamerica Pyramid which is one of the iconic buildings in the financial district of San Francisco. I heartily enjoyed the spectacular view of this building and its surrounding. From this pier, we could also get a stunning view of the bay bridge.
Along the pier, there are lots of benches where we can sit and relax while enjoying the scenery around. During my visit(in the evening) it is very cold so do prepare yourselves with warm clothes.
Visit here and get some awesome shot of the pyramid and the Bay Bridge.

I biked here on an Indian Summer day. Agua Vista Park is well-named. I hung my hammock, climbed in and had a thoroughly relaxing time looking out on the water, the dry dock, the gulls and the passing clouds. It's an easy walk from the Muni T-Third or the UCSF shuttle. It's right on the bike path, too. There's a fishing pier. Although there is no official camping (camping AND fishing right by the bay, who knew?), there do seem to be some mostly friendly car-campers with shopping carts here, who may ask you for a cigarette. Agua Vista Park offers excellent viewing for fireworks at AT&T Park or Ka-Boom.
