Our wedding at Raven Hall in July 2023 was STUNNING. The venue, perched on a clifftop, provided a gorgeous backdrop with breathtaking views of the sea. We had our ceremony on the lawn with the sea in the background. We were challenged with some rather windy weather, but the sun and views more than made up for it!
The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to set up the night before, significantly easing our stress on the big day. The food was another highlight - delicious and varied, with a wide selection for both the meal itself and in the evening.
We were delighted that our dog could participate in the ceremony, although, understandably, he was unable to join us for the meal. The evening reception was held in the Great Hall, an alternative location for the ceremony in case of inclement weather. It was covered in gorgeous fairy lights, adding a magical touch to our evening reception.
The responsiveness and support of the staff, particularly Ben and Amy, were commendable. Amy was prompt in responding to my emails leading up to the day, and Ben was incredibly helpful on the day itself, and on the venue meeting a few weeks before.
Raven Hall is a fantastic and affordable venue - the photos do not do it justice! Our wedding day was truly unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend the venue more highly. We had some absolutely outstanding photos that really encapsulate our magical day!

Was here for a wedding across a weekend. Staff were all great, special shoutout to Dan who put up with a lot of random requests and sorted us out with music when the band finished early! Area is great and managed to get a good bit of exploring of the area done with not much time on our hands.

Gorgeous location, stunning hotel with breathtaking views across Robin Hoods Bay. My partner proposed to me here on the battlements and we subsequently got married here. It was a perfect day and the staff were all as amazing as ever! The bay rooms and lodges are especially gorgeous, the food is to die for and the area is rich in interesting history. There's a spa, swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts and croquet all on site and it's located on Cleveland way, popular with cyclists and walkers. A short drive away there's Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and the moors. We are so glad we chose such a perfect location to marry so we have an excuse to visit every anniversary ❤️

We had a fabulous view of Robin Hood's Bay from our double aspect second floor room, which was huge! Refurbishment underway, the room doors let down the interior. We are at the restaurant and both enjoyed our 3 course dinner which was well presented by friendly and attentive staff. The location is incredible and we'll definitely be back. Make sure you take a walk around the grounds before you leave.

Superb. The gardens are lovely and hold magnificent sea views. The outgoing tide revealed a sand bar with 40 or more seals on it. The hotel staff were friendly and delightful. Everyone was so helpful.
The gardens have a castle-like folly and places to sit. If it's warm, a wonderful place to read or just enjoy the Mediterranean like scenery.
This was a lovely experience and the local walks were stunning. We picked blackberries and even saw an adder!

Classic hotel with a modern twist room wise decor. Fantastic views of Robin Hood's Bay. Plenty for walkers - The Cleveland Way , and The Coast to Coast. Could not fault the place and I am difficult to please as far as accommodation is concerned.
Staff were lovely and so helpful. Breakfast was a buffet, which was preferable to getting a plated breakfast with things you didn't want and not enough of what you like.
Very reasonably priced and I will stay again.

Fast and efficient check in. As we were going into our room we could hear a sound like a toilet cistern constantly filling up. Turned out to be coming from the room next door. Reception informed as there was no way we could sleep with the noise every few seconds. Couple of minutes later two maintenance guys turned up and problem with the toilet cistern sorted, or so we thought. However, the noise continued through the night. Reception informed in the morning and we were immediately allocated another room.
Rooms were OK with everything we needed for a two night stay, albeit a little dated and on need of some TLC in some areas and no air conditioning.
Plenty of parking and some great sea views from all around the grounds. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a bath. They do a great cream tea in the lounge, see photo.
We ate in the Panorama restaurant on the second night with some friends and couldn't fault the meal or service we received, although the bottled lagers were very expensive. £4.50p for a 300ml bottle.
A very large property with the usual issues of constant maintenance required.

We visited Raven Hall whilst attending a wedding nearby and we had a brilliant visit. The hotel itself is beautiful in a stunning location and really lovely grounds. The staff were beyond helpful, so welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We ate breakfast there both mornings and it was very good - cooked and continental breakfast buffet style. There is a small pool that you can book to have exclusive use of which was a nice touch to the visit although it was a little chilly in there! The rooms were nice and spacious with great views. Overall a fantastic stay!
