We went to Innsbruck recently. There's a parking lot nearby where you have to pay 1 euro for 30 minutes. The castle looks amazing from the outside, and there's a garden nearby too. Unfortunately, we couldn't go inside because we got there a bit late. You can also see some peacocks roaming around the castle grounds. It's still worth a quick visit if you're leaving Innsbruck.

Beautiful castle, history are collected here. Spent about 1.30 hrs here.
Can use Innsbruck card.
Great activity on a rainy day, the museum is very interesting even if you're not massively into museums. Very easy to get to. Access is mostly level across the site with gentle steps in place. Would recommend.
It's a must-visit place for first time tourists in Innsbruck. The castle is a bit secluded from the city, but it takes just 20 minutes from the city center via bus to reach here. The museum has amazing artifacts from its time, and even the outdoor area of the castle is quite scenic, with lovely views of the city, lush green lawns, and a small lake.
Nice castle with good audio or guided tour. Small parking in front of the entrance.
A 16th century castle in Innsbruck. There is a lower and upper castle. When we went the upper castle was closed due to construction work. The lower castle has the armoury museum and also the chamber of art and wonders. It was not crowded when we went and spent about an hour.

The visit was fine but I was just a bit disappointed by the design of the palace. I thought if it was a gift from Ferdinand II of the royal family to his untitled wife, the design would have looked better. But overall the museum was interesting and the inside of it is quite grand. There are also a lot of peacocks walking around.
- It is "not" included in Innsbruck Welcome Card. Reducing 1 star.
- We visited only 2 halls. Others were closed.
- 12 EUR for Adult. They should reduce the price if we cannot visit other halls. Reducing 1 more star.
- There are a few peacocks outside, in the castle compound. They are amazing.
- The lady at the ticket counter is polite.
Excellent collections - suits of armour, statue heads, the 'fools plate', etc. Spanish gallery - fantastic hall with painted walls and marquetry ceiling. Cafe and upper storeys of upper castle closed when we visited December '23) for building work.
Three storied museum currently housing the original vlad the impaler painting. Many portrait paintings and other exhibits surrounded by a architecturally beautiful castle.
Really cool collection of armor and artistic items. The castle itself wasn’t what I expected when compared to others I’ve visited. Nice little cafe in the courtyard area. Worth a visit for sure

I strongly suggest you to go there on foot if you like hiking because you're going through such a nice natural environment as you can see from the pictures. However, don't forget to get something to drink before starting going there because your body will need to be kept hydrated since it's a bit steep and might be tiring for many. But still the view when you reach on the top is breathtaking! It's definitely worth seeing. You can also enjoy the garden area for free. Entrance fee is necessary only for the castle 🏰 So, you can consider going there for a nice weekend picnic.
The castle is beautiful and has a lot of historical artefacts including paintings. I would recommend the audio guide for families with small kids. The castle grounds are huge and provide beautiful views of the alps. The grounds are very nice for hiking. Walking down the mountain and across the bridge at the end of the garden is a small cave in the rock which is interesting for kids. There are peacocks in the gardens which were also a great attraction. We arrived at the castle at around 10.00am which was perfect, it was very busy after noon time.
