Great place to get some Lahmacun and Pide. Quite a friendly staff. Prices are little higher than competitors. They should lower them a bit. Also, the service is a bit slower as well. However, Lahmacun is delicious.
Food is very delicious. Good food. Nice & clean place. Reasonable price, good for family party also. First visit, I love the food.

The food was amazing. Service was also great. The food came fresh out the kitchen shortly after ordering from the counter. As someone who never ate Turkish food before, I was really amazed by the unique foods. The Lahmacun was hands down the best thing I ever ate, really recommend it.
Absolutely spectacular! We are vegetarians and we had so many options to choose from. I would recommend getting the sides over the platters, so as to get a taste of everything.

This restaurant truly is welcoming with family style dining and large portion sizes. The food is amazing!! What I absolutely like about this place, is you get what you see! With it’s relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and speedy service, Little Istanbul really is a culinary Turkish delight!
The food was FANTASTIC. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We ordered the appetizer sample and the Istanbul Mega Mixed Grill, OUTSTANDING. Well worth the price. Everything was very good. No way the 3 of us could eat it all. I will definitely return here.

Restaurant was empty but we gave it a shot. Everything was flavorless, even the bread. Soup was bland. Kabobs were dry and looked old. Looks beautiful on the inside but this cant last. And for the price? Where is the flavor? I feel like Afghan food should be bursting but maybe I am naive?
Overpriced, excessively Americanized, fine dining.

Service needs to improve a good amount- the server, although kind and nice, needs another round of training as she was helpless with the menu and kept doing work on her laptop on another table as she was waiting on our table. Food took forever to come out in an empty restaurant!

Food lacks authentic flavors- possibly the chef is trying a little too hard to deliver to a Western taste.

Here's everything we tried:
Bulani- amazing! 10/10
Soup- underspiced, old, ugh
Salad- meh
Kabuli pulaw- bland
Sansom Kabob- good combo of kabobs
Chicken keema- came way too late, watery, bland, undercooked, gross
Doogh- came after meal was finished. Very very good though! Creamy and flavorful
Firni- too little, yet very tasty!!
Baklava- dry but aromatic
Tea- meh

Interior is BEAUTIFUL!! Lights were so dim I could barely see what I was eating, but interior is so incredibly beautiful; makes for a good date night or family get together spot.

We left disappointed with the overall quality of service and food we got relative to their price.

Do not recommend!
Will not return!!
Nice little place! Had a happy vibe on a Saturday night. Busy but the food came quickly. The hummus was delicious and it was a big serving, we didn't even finish. I got the beef and lamb pide and my husband got the salmon shish that came with rice, vegetables and salad. All delicious! We also had dessert- baklava and three layer chocolate dish. Yum. We’ll definitely return. 😁
Little Istanbul Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia region. They have another location which is called Little Istanbul Plus Restaurant in Levittown. I like both of them because of the high quality food.

I have been there many times and thankfully they don’t change the taste and quality of their food. The restaurant has more seats than before so it’s easier to find a table when you don’t have a reservation. The restaurant is always clean and it’s atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing.

My friend and I went there for dinner recently and we both ordered their red lentil soup that was just amazing. They served it with their homemade pita bread and it was so delicious and fresh. We shared bean salad, fried liver and lahmacun as an appetizer. All of them were delicious and very tasty, especially lahmacun was outstanding. He ordered chicken shish kebab and I ordered lamb shish kebab for the main course. They serve main courses with white sauce, salad and white rice. We both substituted salad with white rice because their white rice is absolutely amazing. Chicken shish kebab and lamb shish kebab were both very flavorful and tender. Their food is always generously portioned and served very fast.

Their prices are always very reasonable. My only complaint about the restaurant is the service. The servers are very nice and kind people but most of them don’t know how to serve generally. Their manager is a great guy and he always help us if we need anything. I definitely recommend this restaurant because of the great food.

One of the greatest Philly restaurant. Sort of like a hidden gem. Amazing food and atmosphere.
I ordered to go and the food was well packed and tasted really good. I can’t wait until they open so I can have an indoor experience!! So we had Sansom Kabob with extra lamb skewer, Qablee rice, and Sambosa and they’re all good

It is an Afghani restaurant located near down town Philadelphia, the atmosphere is good, the food is delicious, but the fact that you have to pay gratuity despite the fact that the service was terrible this is not accepted at all for me . They added more than 20 $ on the invoice as a gratuity without even taking my permission. It is really something annoying. As a customer I will never go back again to this restaurant unless they change there gratuity policy . Simply cheating the customer is not acceptable to anyone.

The food was mediocre. A group of my friends and I ordered a bunch of different items from the menu and were disappoimted. The salad was out of a bag and not fresh, then drenched with dressing. Food was dry with very little flavor. Wouldn't come back here.

I have been meaning to try out the new location of Sansom Kabob House ever since they relocated from Sansom St to South St. I am glad to report that the food tastes as delicious as I remembered it. The prices however have increased - partly because they have done away with the lunch menu and only offer a single menu. I would recommend their kebabs or the qablee palaw.
