Food is better in Hawaii for sure, but it’s still tasty and the drinks are strong. The service is really great and I love the interior of the restaurant! Never too busy either.

I work on museum campus and came here after work one day with coworkers. It's fun tiki vibes inside and they have a loaded menu. I was glad that I browsed the menu before we came because there were a lot of options! The spam masubi was delicious! They had lots of traditional Hawaiian options. The nachos were great too.

Went here with my family and enjoyed every bit of it. The atmosphere was great and the service even better. If you dont know what to get the person serving you will certainly help you pick something delicious. Those Hawaiian Pulehu Beef Shortribs were so good i forgot to take a photo of it as well as the nacho plate tha was the perfect starter. The drinks were also good the emperors lagoon and if you say you cant pronounce that one drink you see they'll most likely know what you mean lol. Great time and we'll definitely be comin back. Left happy and full
Super friendly staff, amazing and generous portions of food. Also, very strong cocktails.

We got a loco moco, and a spicy salmon bowl. The loco moco patties were seasoned well, onions so caramelised and fragrant, and was topped of with crispy fried eggs. Spicy salmon bowl had mushrooms, pickled radish, avocados, cucumbers (those were bitter though), peppers and some other mixed vegetables.

Will definitely be going back! Seems like a popular place because it was crowded. PS Bar tender is extremely friendly too!

Edit: I’m sorry, i don’t know how to reply to the reply. No worries about the cucumber, it does happen with ingredients at times. Small issue, we ate everything else on the plate very happily. Will be back and still recommending AO! :)
AO Hawaiian Hideout offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of flavorful dishes. The short ribs and pasta salad were particularly outstanding, combining tender meat with a refreshing salad. The spring rolls were a highlight, perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. For those craving a bit of spice, the Spicy Mongolian dish delivered with its robust flavors and satisfying heat.
Service at AO Hawaiian Hideout was exemplary, characterized by efficiency and friendliness, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, AO Hawaiian
Hideout is highly recommended for its delicious food and excellent service, making it a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.

I hesitate to write this review, because it’s so good and I don’t want too many people to find out about Chicago’s best kept secret. Affordable and delicious food!

Great spot that is close to soldier field - fun for before or after dinner at events. Especially with fun cocktails!

Must get: Spicy Malaysian Deluxe Laksa Soup (mild is spicy as a warning… but it’s beyond delicious!) and Kalbi
Solid picks: spam musubi
Skip: teaser sampler

I really liked poke! It falls on more spicy side. Their ribs were well cooked and tender but a little sweet for me and their mie goreng had good flavor but little salty. The envrionment and staff were very nice! Fun place.
We drove out from the suburbs to experience this place. The food was amazing! So many tiki drink glasses to order if you wish. The only recommendation I would give to the service would be to ask if we were ready for the check, or even if we wanted to keep the leftovers. We had to ask for take out boxes (none were offered) and the bill was dropped on the table without any mention or question about dessert.

Perfect local spot with saucy sandwiches brimming with flavor! Reasonable sandwich prices and a variety of flavors. The sumac chicken was fantastic. I was prepared to give a tip and the waiter clicked past, saying “if you like it come back” which made me want to tip way more than the obligatory “couple questions for you”
This place has a very pleasant environment. The food is hot (temp) when you get it and the dish I ate had lots of veggies. All vegan, you don't have to worry about what you are eating unless it's spicy. Lol They have wheat or rice noodles. I will go back to eat.
The food was delicious, exactly what we needed after being stuck in a food wasteland over by the convention center. if you’re looking for some clean vegetarian or vegan friendly food, this is the spot to go!

Today I tried Chicago Raw for the first time. I was met by the owner upon arriving. She greeted me with a friendly smile and made me feel warm and welcome. She offered me a sample of pizza and two smoothie samples. Everything I sampled was amazing. I was so grateful for the experience. I began looking through the food that was displayed. Everything looked so delicious. It was hard for me to make a decision. The owner suggested that I try the sampler, which consisted of hamburger, pizza, a meatball and a dessert. In addition to the sampler I decided to purchase a lasagna for later. Both dishes were amazing. I’ve recently begun eating raw dishes. I was totally blown away by how flavorful the food was. I will definitely be frequenting this restaurant!

What a radiant hole in the wall. I was walking to Whole Foods and decided to pop in. What excellent-quality food, recipes, and health focus!! Mina (who worked the shop’s checkout today) was kind, bubbly, and helpful. She also said Polly (the owner) is kind, knowledgeable, and “always has a smile even on her bad days”. Cannot wait to come back and bring friends.
Some of the absolute best food I've ever had in my life, hands down. I tried the red curry with seitan and spring rolls - even a week later, I can still remember the taste; the warmth and perfect blend of flavors and spices. A must try.
I love Urban vegan especially for dining in! They give you huge portions for a great price and the food is so good. So far the spinach curry dumplings, orange chicken, and crispy tofu salad are my favorites but there’s so much more to try. I love it!
Came with my Vegetarian Aunt for lunch. I'm not well schooled in vegan cooking. Tried the entree The Dark Side of the Moon which has 2 kinds of mushrooms and lots of veggies over rice noodles with a black bean miso sauce. And YUM!! Loved it! Will take her back there and try more of the menu.

I really love this place. They customer service is wonderful and helpful. The desserts are divine and I rave about the slice of heaven and lemon bar. Only suggestion: check the best buy dates before you purchase especially if you are buying food for the week. Since its raw the shelf life recommendation is important.

A vegan dream! Our server Filip was so nice and the food was amazing. That garlic aioli can go on everything! There are so many things I wanted to order but I went with the Tequenos, Empanadas, and fried Cauliflower with a waffle.

Yummm! This place has been on my list for a while and finally stopped by for takeout. I got the Big Daddy hot dog and tastes just like the real deal. Well seasoned, fries are thin and delicious. Staff was very prompt and friendly, and I’m very thrilled to be back and try other items.

This really was a nice spot! Very cozy and GREEN! No paper menus so make sure you charge your phone to scan the code. Kid friendly. I ate empanadas. They were good, fresh and filling. Only request would be, MORE KALE. The presentation was cute and I’m glad i caught a pic before i devoured. Thanks to Kevin for being my server. He was alone and held it down ✨💚

I came in passing through Chicago and Kale My Name definitely lived up to the hype I've heard. Coming all the way from Alabama, I definitely enjoyed the experience. I got a to go order and it was fresh and ready when I arrived. I had the Mac and cheese balls, broccoli cheese soup, and lemon cake. It was all amazing! The Mac and cheese balls had a perfect crunch, broccoli cheese soup was delicious, and the lemon cake was moist and flavorful. Service was immediate and very friendly.

Great option for vegan and vegetarian. The quality and flavor of our food was excellent. Prices versus the portions were very reasonable. Service was extraordinary. The entire team was friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back and recommend two friends and family.
Just wow, the food is flawless, the dishes we tasted are to come back for lots more to try! The service is awesome, very friendly and warm staff. You should order the mango tamales, you will love them! Prices are according to what you receive (even perhaps too fair).
Will definitely be on our to go list, we drove about an hour to come and it was totally worth it!!!
GREATEST THAI VEGAN food I have ever had! Love LOVE love the jungle noodles! Yum! Also tried few different things there. This time it was orange soy chicken with brown rice. So yummy! My friend got rice shell pasta curry, it was spicy for me but if you eat spice regularly you will be fine, it isn't bad at all. Absolutely worth a TRY! Absolutely recommend this for all Vegans and fellow Vegetarians!!!
As a Jefferson Park native, the surrounding neighborhoods have a needed this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful. If you’re not Vegan, cool, but still give this food a try. It’s money well spent.
I have passed urban vegan many times when I have been driving around. Have to say this small local restraunt is a hidden gem! Let me get into it!

The food here is beyond amazing. I order the freshy roll and they were very fresh and every bite made me want more. The orange chicken is the best orange chicken I have ever had any where. If I could have this dish every day I would. The pad Thai reminded me of when I had it while I was vacationing in Thailand! The service was all star level. The waitress that served me walked me around the menu and filled my water when she saw it was low. Hard to find places where waitresses are that attentive. The atmosphere or ambiance like I like to call it, perfect. The natural light from the outside and the decor and music that placed really was pleasant.

Overall, I will say give urban vegan a try. The experience will want to keep you coming back as the food and service speak for themself!
Great vegan thai restaurant. One of the few all vegan places in the city. The portions are huge for the price. Would definitely go again.

I love raw vegan restaurants for their creativity in creating dishes that requires little to no cooking, which is more challenging than one thinks.

The small shop is a womxn owned business and is a cozy, grab and go environment. There were a few seats by the window but I anticipate most people will swing by for something and be on their way.

For breakfast, I ordered their Acai Bowl ($15) with fresh fruit, protein powder, and granola. It was a decent sized portion and everything was blended nicely, although their granola felt a bit hard. But you really can't go wrong with acai and other freshness in the morning.

They sell a variety of takeout meals including wraps, sushi, lasagna, etc., and yes, all of it is raw so you're really benefiting from all the natural vitamins and minerals in whole foods. It's definitely on the steeper end but I appreciate that it's available to the masses.

I love this restaurant! Look no further if you're looking for a delicious sandwich and so much variety. Variety of bread, cheeses, toppings. My favorite tuna sandwiches from here. It's so cozy inside. Perfect for the college students and anyone looking to just enjoy a peaceful atmosphere that but still very cool. Highly recommend.
Healing food for the mind, body, and soul for sure!
Your vibration is raised as soon as you pull up to this sacred restaurant. In need of healing I had to come to this restaurant.

My first choice is all RAW foods pulled straight from the trees and ground and straight into my body as it’s in its purest and natural form and that is what these energetic bodies need.

Food:
Jade Maki Sushi Rolls was good. Lacked flavor. I am someone who enjoys herbs and seasonings on food to wake up everything and then it will be a dance party in my body.

Seaweed and Spinach soup was a delight and very tasty.

Mung bean pancakes had no flavor at all. I did enjoy the fact that it made my body feel really good and comforted.

The Wolf’s Dream entree was ok. I’m learning although I love flavors in a massive way I’m more so concerned that my energetic body absorbs as many nutrients as possible and this restaurant makes sure of that by not serving you any toxic items. Most if not all is body safe.

Drink
Ginger Energy Tea was delight.

Very generous portions. Affordable prices. Street Parking. You get a discount if you pay with cash. There’s a 3% processing fee with credit/debit cards.

Customer service can use some help but overall it was a joyous and magnificent experience.

Wholeness and Infinite Love To All!

All of the food was for me.

We came here for two days in a row around brunch time while visiting Chicago. There aren't many healthy plant based options in the city. The food does not disappoint. We had the smoothies, the bowls and some desserts and all were delicious. The owner is extremely friendly and personable. A highly recommended stop for all plant based fans in Chicago.

The portion sizes were very generous! They give you bottled water for free.

The restaurant is spacious and pretty clean. The service is very friendly.

General tso’s tofu: the fried tofu was crispy perfection in texture. The dish was tasty but a little on the sweeter side. Not spicy.

Boiled Beef in Chili Sauce: has a mala taste to it but it’s a mild spice. Not too numbing. It was tasty but could be spicier.

Scallion Pancake: a nice crispy snack with a subtle scallion taste.
I LOVE KALE MY NAME! The food coupled with the amazing owner, Nemanja, and wonderful staff, make it an extraordinary experience every time! My absolute favorite is the cauliflower and waffles, which I ordered for three straight visits (brunch is now ALL DAY)!!! I also really enjoy the Mac n cheese balls, oyster mushroom wrap, lentil soup, chilaquiles, and avocado tacos. When I’m feeling boozy, my favorite is the lavender mojito. There is so much more left to try here, and I think vegans and non-vegans alike would find something to enjoy. I know because, I brought my family in for my birthday :)
So cute, warm, and welcoming! The food is amazing, and so beautiful! I’ll be making this my new favorite place!

Great service, management are doing a brilliant job! Ordered a Cajun chicken and buffalo chicken sandwich, both were DELICIOUS. Ended my meal with a scoop of their Italian biscuit ice cream, so great. Zabiha Halal chicken on their menu which was a massive plus considering the limited halal sandwich shops in Chicago. Will definitely be visiting again!!
This place is a hidden gem. Had the Celia breakfast with pancakes. It was delicious. The gentleman even made me an iced coffee with the cafe de olla. When I asked for iced coffee. The appetizer was delicious.😋
Incredible food with kind staff. I could eat here every day of my life and never get bored, super diverse menu and everything I've tried has been delicious. INCREDIBLY generous portions, especially when you dine in. Pictured are the impossible basil stir fry, and the spicy fried rice with tofu.

Such a solid sandwich. We got Dutch Crunch on garlic chicken, can’t wait to come back and have another sandwich. We also got the raspberry bar. You can tell the workers and patrons love the place. Free street parking was pretty easy on a Saturday afternoon.

Great value; cheap price and great food! I recommend the spicy numbing stir fry (lotus root, mushroom, potato, bokchoy, chicken, shrimp is what we got).
The sauteed green beans are some of the best ever! And the beef & kimchi fried rice is excellent.
I'm shocked the prices are essentially the same as they were.
Would recommend it to anyone! Just make sure to order some more traditional dishes otherwise, I'm not sure how the American Chinese dishes are.

Great place to take a rest at Hyde Park neighbourhood.

It’s always busy, but the service comes quick and warm.
The staff are welcoming and polite.

Small size of drink is already big enough.
Chai Latte is good, love it.
Bagel has different options- sesame, plain, and wheat.
Bagel 53 is yummy, with cream cheese and tomato.

Perhaps I came on a off day (Thursday), but the food and services were below decent. I expected a bit more flavor from a establishment showcasing Northern Chinese delicacy, but I was greeted with a very basic Chinese cuisine. The sweet and sour ribs dish had the ideal flavor but lacked a kick to it, and the poultry was not cured so I can still taste the griminess. The hot and sour fillet lack sourness and its spices can be summarized as msg, salt, and pepper. Then, the dish I was looking forward to, beef pancakes, came out short on flavor as well and seems like something I can create if I had gotten some pancakes from the market and stuff it with beef. There were two servers, but we were never checked on and they just continued playing on their phones the whole time. The setting was low light modern vibes with a traditional dining set up and ceramicware, wish there were music to set the mood. The only upside was the price, as it was quite affordable coming in at $42 in total for two people to come out feeling stuffed. Very hard to recommend Northern Taste as of this experience, perhaps I will need to come on a busy day to reevaluate.

Very special place filled with so much healthy and delicious food, savory dishes to go or creamy desserts, smoothies, juices, shots, raw desserts such as donuts, tiramisu or other cakes, crackers, chocolate barks, muffins, chips and more! I'm so glad to discover it there and they have 2 locations, the second one (Time-out market) has also warm pizza being sold by two slices. Everything so delicious and so great, you can eat a lot of this food and you don't feel heavy but full of energy. Real fuel for the body/mind/soul/spirit and there was a very kind staff. Very nice experience in Chicago!

Overall, a good dining experience. A good variety of dishes from apps on through. Overall, the portions are large and the flavors are pretty good. Just know that the dishes are expensive and can feel like you’re paying a lot of money per plate. Also be prepared that there are no non-vegan options, which isn’t a bad thing… just something to be prepared for.
Everything was amazing. The soy chicken was on point. The orange chicken regained its crispy texture despite the sauce and the portions were very large. Large enough that we filled up a take out box and it didn’t look like we’d had a single bite of it. A lot of food for the price. Nice servers. Quick service and tasty food. Drinks at a cheaper price than most Chicago restaurants too. 10:10

I strolled in and had the small potato kale soup, summer roll and blueberry cheesecake and it was all soooooo delicious. It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.
Great portion sizes and kept me satiated. A very peaceful ambience. Will be coming back soon!
Will start with the good part: Tequeños were really tasty! We are grateful about it 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 No doubts the best we’ve tried…Now the other part: Maybe we had high expectations considering all the amazing reviews, but me and my boyfriend were very disappointed 🤷🏻‍♀️ we ordered the tofu buffalo wrap and it was ok, but in general the place was just so so…not a great atmosphere, lack of good music or ambiance. We went all the way there from downtown because we really wanted to try this awarded restaurant while visiting Chicago and we really felt it was all just good marketing. Sorry guys maybe the hype was good and now it is a bit unattended 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe we’ll try in LA next week
I really enjoyed the food and ambience in this restaurant! The vibes inside are chill— it’s spacious and nicely decorated, good for groups both large and small. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly.

The lunch and dinner combos are the same portion size, but dinner is $1 more. The portions are large, and the variety of spring rolls, salad, entree, and rice makes it worth it. I got the Praram’s Plate Combo with Soy Chicken. The soy chicken was good, but I think I generally prefer the texture of soy beef more. Still, it was very tender with a meat-like texture, and the peanut sauce was creamy and flavorful (the highlight of the dish, for sure). The spinach added fresh flavor and color. The purple rice was a little hard, but tasted good. The egg rolls were crispy and piping hot.

The prices are not low, but they’re pretty standard compared to similar vegan Thai restaurants in Chicago. The menu is also pretty similar to some of the other nearby vegan Thai restaurants, but the options are nonetheless diverse and expansive, and I’m looking forward to trying more items on the menu with different protein types too!

Price (relative to peers): 4/5
Food: 4.5/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5
Overall Value: 4.5/5
We were actually going to have tacos from another place down the road. What caught our attention to this place was the signage and all the colors on the outside of the place. Made us curious as to what La Celia had to offer. We were not disappointed. This really is a Latin kitchen. From Jibarito to Tortas and even pastel Cubano. Feels like you're tasting Latin America.

We got the Cafe de Olla (best I've had outside of Mexico), Torta de Chilaquiles which I absutely can't reccomend enough (pictured), Esquites which were good (instead of cayenne it was Tajin which wasn't bad just different) and the Jibarito which was cooked to perfection.

We will definitely be coming back and are looking forward to trying more dishes.
My partner and I went for dine in yesterday ( we have ordered delivery in the past), and had a great experience!
First off, I called to make sure they were open and the gentleman I spoke with was very sweet on the phone ( assuming the owner?). I ordered the wonton soup, There was another soup that we ordered and three entrées and the dumplings. Everything was very good! Some things were a little spicy for me, but that I’m sure it could be made more mild if you ask. The atmosphere was so chill. It was exactly what I needed after a crazy weekend at work.. also, a sidenote, I ordered the fig tea and it was absolutely amazing and I will have to find out the secret next time ! Thanks again ❤️
Great service and staff was very pleasant. I ordered chilaquiles and my partner ordered la Celia tostada I believe it's called. We had empanadas and coffee de olla. I was not a fan of the chilaquiles to be honest. The flavor of the tostadas was not it, could be spicier. The tostadas were really soggy. However my partner really enjoyed his plate tostadas were crunchy enough for him and flavor was great. He loved the toppings of the plantains on top. The coffee was pretty good. If I'm ever in the area again I would try it again. Maybe a different plate.

The sandwiches here are absolutely phenomenal! Unlike other tasty items at your local restaurant, these sandwiches are as healthy as they are tasty, and will definitely leave you glad you visited. My personal favorites are the sumac chicken sandwich and the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I have never tasted sandwiches that can compare to the ones made here, and I look forward to visiting this restaurant every time I’m in the area. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating and always oblige to my requests. I could not recommend this spot enough!
We had the ceviche, the mango tamale and the tortilla soup. Everything was excellent, the owner and the staff were super attentive and the place has a really cool vibe. The mango tamale was SPECTACULAR! I was craving something like that original and fresh 😋
I'm very confident about giving this place a 5-star rating!

1- Food: Food was absolutely delicious and healthy, you can eat as much as you want here without feeling stuffed. Everything is very healthy and cooked with little to no oil. I loved their teas too!

2- Vibe: The environment is great, pretty calm and relaxing! Also a lot of art work and interesting messages on the walls!

3- Pricing: Very reasonable, relatively cheap and totally worth it!

4- Cleanness: REALLY neat and clean. Germophobe approved!! 5/5!!! From the table to floor and bathroom, everything was very neat and clean!

5- Staff: super nice and friendly, didn't have any issues!

6- Menu diversity: their menu looks amazing and has tons of delicious options!!

100% recommend for vegans and non-vegans! Especially if you're looking for a relax place to eat some healthy food!

I love this small vegan family owned cafe. Along with their variety of food choices and smoothies, there is always a wide selection of board games, informational pamphlets and books on veganism, and classical music playing in the background. The food is consistently delicious and best of all they are always considerate and careful about my food allergies. I’m so glad to have this restaurant in my neighborhood and I recommend anyone who wants to try a vegan food choice for the first time to come here. The curry bowl (pictured) and green smoothie are my go to choices, but no matter what you choose you will not be disappointed!
I got the happy burger and it was really nice. I was so grateful to eat a yummy, nutritious, vegan burger. I liked that the texture wasn’t really mushy and held together well while eating. It was my first time having cucumber on a burger, so that was pretty cool. They have educational decor, and the books/games shelf is really cute
Came for Sunday breakfast/brunch. First time eating and very impressed! Food was tasty, service was friendly. Come support this great neighborhood business! Among the best Latin breakfast spots in the neighborhood. BYOB is a plus too. We will be back for dinner.
This is my first time eating anything plant based vegan wow the burger is amazing happy burger is the name the soup also was piping hot very good as well a bit pricey on soup all in all 5 stars.

I love the da pan ji (big plate chicken)! So flavorful❤️. Other dishes like the lamb dumplings and lamb stew and beef shank noodles were also really delicious. I didn't like the mapo toufu because it tasted a little bit different than the traditional way but my mother in law liked it. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We would come back when next time in town.

There are so many things to love about this place. Great service and very helpful with all the questions you have. Food was delicious and fresh, what tops the whole experience is this place are doing their best to be eco friendly. The only thing kind of put me off are the propaganda tv that's being played constantly by the water station. But overall, great cute little vegan cafe, we will be back for sure.

I live on the northside and will gladly put up with 90E during rush hour traffic to eat here...Sooooo I think it’s safe to say I’m a big fan of northern taste. It’a my first go to when someone ask me what’s your favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is always on point and the portion size is amazing, you won’t leave hungry that’s for sure! To be honest writing this review made me crave it more now...I think I’m going make another trip.

I highly recommend 3 items that (of which I order all the time)
-The clear noodle salad: it’s super tasty and refreshing. If you like peanut flavors you’re in for a treat!

-The lamb kabob & scallion pancake are bomb by themselves but combine them and you’re in foodie Heaven.

-Popcorn chicken...just...simply delicious. You’ll understand when you eat it.

I've ordered delivery from this restaurant for more than 30 times. Tried almost everything on their menu and they NEVER failed to satisfy. Highlights include stewed meatball, stewed ribs, garlic fried pork, etc... So many to name. Tried their three cup chicken today and it is soooo good. I can't believe how a northern Chinese cuisine can cook a Taiwanese entree to such perfection.

The owner and the host are always super friendly and accommodating when I called to make customization on my order. This is hands down the best Chinese food in Chicago!

It was my 1st time trying out this restaurant with my family. We ordered the Dry Hotpot, Pork Dumplings and Lamb Skewers. The dry hotpot was super tasty, it was spicy and numbing at the same time. Our spice tolerance is usually quite high, but tonight my husband was all sweaty and kept drinking his tea while eating the hotpot. If I can make a suggestion, please go easy on the “ma la”. The lamb skewers were quite good as well. The meats were big and well seasoned. My family and I will recommend this restaurant. We’ll be back to try other dishes on the menu.
Overall:
Food: 4 stars
Price: $
Service: 4 stars

Super legit food! I had many Chinese food in Chi town and the food here is definitely one of the best. Prices are fair and tastes are great. I strongly recommend the chicken with noodle here; sauce is awesome and you can share with your friend. Also try the garlic soy sauce, it is out of this world! Love this place and will definitely come again!
Loving Heart Vegan Cafe feels like home. With such huge hospitality, this has easily become one of the top vegan restaurants in the city. Its menu is rich in flavor and very economical. My favorite are definitely the bowls!
