I recently dined at Desi Tadka and ordered the Vegetarian Special Thali.

The order took around 30 minutes, and I had to remind the staff about it. Despite the wait, the Thali was delicious and featured a variety of authentic Indian dishes, though it was a bit pricey at $25.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were generally courteous.

While the wait time and price were drawbacks, the quality and variety of the food made it a good experience overall.

I would recommend Desi Tadka for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine in a nice setting.
Was visiting Seattle from Denver and was searching for punjabi dhaba (hoping that I would find one like I did in LA and Arizona) but couldn’t find any and then started looking for Indian food (particularly North Indian) as there are no good Indian (of any kind) restaurants in Denver area. Read the reviews and came to this place for dinner. Came at 6:30 PM so got the table. Ordered chola bhatoora and “Today’s Special” thali. As soon as food came out , looking at the portions I could see why the prices are on a higher side. As soon as I tasted it , I was like Wow- I hit the jackpot and found North Indian food tasting North Indian. Chole bhature was as good as I find in Chandigarh. The thali had palak paneer, dal makhani and tandoori roti. Everything tasted great. It was so good that I came back again the next day for dinner and came at 6 pm itself as I realized their service was slow and the table fills up around 7 pm.
Ordered tikki chat and amritsari kulcha and both items tasted awesome just like day 1.
I would give the food a solid 5 stars and would definitely not argue about that cost given the portion size and taste.
Service is where these folks lag.
1st they take time to take order - I had to walk to the counter to place the order and then the never ending wait to get the order.
But I’ll definitely wait if the food tastes so good.
Overall 4 stars as food is 5 but service and atmosphere was 3.
Would definitely be here when in Seattle.
The curries are very good here and they provide a cup of rice with the curry. The channa samosa was way too good but the curd vada was okay. Roti was big and a bit hard. Comparatively this place is a bit pricey.
We ordered Malbar parota, and they served without a plate (directly on the tray with an aluminum foil). No hand wash and dustbin where we need to throw the trash is disgusting. The food was okay, but curries served were made in the afternoon, and that was disappointing.

We ordered upma and that is good
As a allium free vegan, finding Indian restaurants with good curries that meet my dietary needs has been a challenge. Thankfully, Desi Tadka in Bellevue is a lifesaver! Their curries are made from scratch with seasonal vegetables, and the one I had was incredibly delicious – it definitely satisfied my craving for authentic Indian food. I'm so grateful for their delicious and accommodating cuisine. I can't wait to explore more dishes on my next visit to Seattle!
This is my first time dining at Desi Tadka. I have done an innumerable number of door dash from here and was never disappointed.

Food is really good - do remember that when you ask for spicy , they will make it spicy - Indian Spicy. The food here is more suitable for the Indian palette.

To my surprise the ambience was actually good. I won't call it upscale but it has an above average dining experience you typically get from Indian restaurants.

I really liked that you can have complementary bottomless buttermilk here - although the taste was very average.

Mixed Experience: Great Atmosphere, Disappointing Vada Sambar

Rating: ⭐⭐

The service and atmosphere at this Indian restaurant were top-notch, offering a welcoming environment to enjoy a meal.

The menu boasted a wide array of options, promising something for every palate.

However, my experience with the Vada Sambar fell short of expectations.

The vada seemed stale, likely reheated instead of freshly prepared.

I would recommend avoiding the Vada Sambar, but I cannot speak for the quality of other dishes. Overall, a decent dining experience marred by one disappointing dish.

Visited Bhojan Xpress today and indulged in the delightful flavors of Malabar Parata with Paneer Curry and Vegetable Kurma. The culinary experience was nothing short of extraordinary – the food was exceptionally tasty, showcasing the finest quality ingredients. Despite the cozy size of the restaurant, the taste surpassed all expectations. Highly recommend for those seeking a delightful and flavorsome dining experience. A gem of a find!

I ordered bread combo with 3 phulkas , Chana masala and korma. They fooled me with frozen rotis. If I were to eat frozen rotis why would I spend 4$ here? The Chana masala and korma was below average with uncooked onion. I was very disappointed with frozen rotis. Even the frozen rotis were not cooked properly. Advice to business, stop fooling customers.
Honestly, I really enjoyed the food!! It was our first time here and it was the best decision to come here. The tandoori roti was everything. Plus it’s a good option for muslims too since the food is vegetarian. After all, it’s my favorite food spot now. Restrooms are super clean. Staff was good and friendly.
Nice small vegetarian place. Lots of options on menu and they accommodate your restrictions as well. It is not a traditional dine in though since you pay at the counter first before taking the seat. Taste was mostly good. We liked the variety in Thali. Roti and Paratha were quite big. Limited parking outside since it is in downtown. Worth a visit if close to Bellevue.

A great place to try North Indian food, especially their chole bhature, saraon da saag and amritsari kulcha. We haven’t tried other indian cuisines but it’s definitely worth a try for North Indian. Also their free lassi( which is actually a chaas, but is really good) adds value. One thing they could improve upon is the ambience which is basic and that makes the place a bit pricey.

Only Accessible Indian food place in Bellevue downtown. They open super early for breakfast. Perfect for Idli/Vada and Dosas.

Must try:
Medu Vada
Masala Dosa
Rava Dosa

New Management (in Dec 2023) has turned over the place. Definitely recommend for a quick south indian meal.

We were four people and ordered ghee dosa, idli, medu vada, Malabar paratha with aloo bhaji and filter coffee.

Indoor seating is limited and they also have outdoor picnic tables. We went on a Sunday morning so the place was empty.

Idli, dosa and medu vada tasted good, aloo bhaji was okay and more on the bland side. Their sambar had onions in it but the coconut chutney was Jain. We also asked for some podi on the side to have more dipping options in jain.

Recommend this place, especially after a badminton session on a Sunday morning reminds of home back in India.

We ordered Chole Puri (No Bhatura available for lunch). Chole tasted nice, not very spicy, mild yet tasty. Puri was slightly oily, but not too much. Ghee roast dosa was tasty as well. Both chutneys served with dosa (coconut and groundnut) were great in taste. It’s very rare for South Indian restaurants in the US to have good chutneys. Sambar was good in taste as well.
One recommendation is to increase the quantity. Number of Puris served could be more since Puris are not as fulfilling as Bhaturas. Also, chole and sambar were little less in quantity.

Pros: prices are resonable, good quantity of sides, quick service and food was served hot in less than 10 minutes. Car parking available in the plaza.

Cons: The problem is with the taste and quality of the food. Food didn’t taste fresh. Everyone felt very uneasy 😳 after eating food.
Worst dish was Chole Bhature, it was like a plumpy flat paratha, terrible 😣. Veg Kothu Barotta was horrible. It was served very hot, but it never tasted anything like a Kothu Barotta 👎🏽.
Paneer tikka masala dosa- Dosa was thick and fresh. But not sure about the paneer tikka masala, it was literally stuffed inside the dosa and served. I should have ordered a regular dosa instead🤦🏾‍♂️.
Masala dosa - no comments.
Extremely unhappy ☹️, didn’t expect such poor food looking at the Google ratings 👎🏽.
Thursday night dinner. Little to no place for dine in (only two tables, 8 people can sit and eat) Recommended for to go and online ordering.
Not sure if the Chef was OOF/vacation or quit, Terrible food 👎🏽.
