This place is horrible the staff are rude to you and love to assert their authority to make more stress for homeless families just looking for support. They serve you sandwiches for almost every meal leaving the little babies hungry and then serve the staff good meal as they laugh, joke and watch movies on shift. It has SEVERAL MICE AND RODENTS in which the staff joke about and if you don’t like it you can leave. Since we are not allowed to eat in our rooms we count on the food the feed our kids. They fail us and then laugh in our faces as we struggle to just get back on our feet. We all make mistakes but this is suppose to be somewhere we feel safe. This place is not it. I prey for all these women who really have nothing hungry in this place right now. Christmas breakfast was oatmeal and no one was allowed to eat after 4pm. SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PLACE BECAUSE WE DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO… Picture shows two mice just hanging in my room.
Not secure at all. Staff are weird. It’s unsanitary. The food is nasty. It’s so many horrible things I could say but number one is safety.
WARNING! Do not ship any eBay or online orders here. It is a homeless shelter filled with scammers. I sold an item to a person here who promptly did a return scam on me.

This review is not for the homeless shelter itself, but rather a review for the people who do business here.
Is there any in North East. Philly. Ssi department
The Preservation Alliance’s Art Deco tour was an immersive experience whilst our guide peppered the walk with anecdotes and the whimsical fancies of the Art Deco era in Philadelphia.
The Preservation Alliance provided an informative historic walking tour of Bella Vista to our BVNA group. We were each given a hands-free headset to ensure that we heard everything the guide said. The tour led us from historic sites of the Underground Railroad, through 19th C Italian and Irish immigrant neighborhoods and up through the Italian market. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusastic. He shared photos and pointed out historic building markers I never noticed before. This was just one of the Philly neighborhood tours they offer.
This place is a disgrace!! Me and my 3 kids were there for a month until getting kicked out because I defended myself to a male cleaning worker with freedom of speech after being disrespected. They have roaches the size of mice and mice the size of rats. I had a mouse eat my clothes and one run across my head on night. The staff in TERRIBLE there is no compassion they are rude ignorant. You ask for anything including your medicine they huff and puff like they're there just to be on they're phones. There's staff having relationships with clients. There's racism and there's favoritism for sure!! I would prefer any shelter in Philadelphia over WOODSTOCK
They favor all the albanians there to take everything. it's wrong because other people need to eat too and the helpers will be hard on every one else something should be done with the helpers there to save food for other people and don't have Favoritism
Is this supposed to be a shelter, shelters should understanding compassionate and kind to residents that live the building but instead it’s filled with people who look down on the homeless, and make it hard for them to be able to get in their feet. They didn’t ask to be there but they are there anyway cuz there’s no where else to go but for the residents in the building to be treated the way they are treated is wrong and people that work there should be removed. It’s no way that the staff mess with or belittle individuals that live there and their children
Witness staff pick on the residents in the building saying they were gonna pull a woman by her hair, policies aren’t consistent, was told different things about rules. Washing machines are broken so you can’t wash clothes.
i give it a one star i was there 3 years ago with my 3 childen they dont care about the residents the staff only care aboout looking good online they have alot of events for people that are not in the shelter its self they discriminate you on race and gender and call dhs on young mothers on top of it all
I am a vet and was staying at this location. They claim they have rules and regulations but they are only put to use when they have personal issues with someone.

The staff is absurdly biased. I have heard things said to tenants like "oh well I have a house" and more mocking. The director stated that "when she is there everything is in order", but the problem is the director can rarely be seen at the location. I have witness people staying there that should not be there based on their family only rule but they let them go, as long as they provide things to the director and other staff. In this case, it was marijuana. I am going to let as many outlets of the unprofessional behavior that is shown at this "Family Center".

Even down to getting toilet paper and diapers, because the tenants there are homeless and most do not have jobs, they refuse to give more than 10 diapers a month. Given that it is a homeless shelter, do you not think these services should be provided? The staff and director are completely unprofessional and I have watched them rip up and throw out complaints that are supposed to go to the corporate office, RHD. Something must be done and it must be done immediately.

If you can help it, try not to stay here. The only reason I gave them one star is because it is supposed to be family oriented but the bias of the staff, including the show up when I want director, is completely unprofessional. I hope no one else has to deal with these unprofessional personal.

I have called to learn about the formal complaint system in place and no one I spoke with knew anything about it and kept sending me back to a phone recording without any option for complaints.

Center for adult tutoring (GED), life skills, job placement, etc. Kindhearted people doing a lot of wonderful things with limited resources and enough trials and tribulations to discourage most...but not here. Donate your TIME here, its worth it.
