My experience today at Salvation Army food bank was marvelous,in fact,no word good enough to express my gratitude and appreciation.
Only those led by God can do like The Salvation Army food bank. I am very happy for all they gave to me.
God bless Salvation Army Church
They are good people and generous, salvation army support with anything
I went there because I had no funds to buy food. They treated me with kindness and understanding, which seems to be lacking in some of society today..
I can still go back once more for the food bank.
And they served a very nice healthy lunch.
All i can say is Thank God for these wonderful people.
An organization that makes you feel welcomed and among .
This organization needs to be audited and have their funds stripped away them since the donations aren't going where it should be!

A lot of scamming, scheming, and pocketing happens here at Black Cap and the participants unfortunately feel it the most!

Plus, one thing that continues to get overlooked the most is the internalized Anti - Blackness! HR likes to hire racCOONS that project their internalized trauma out on their participants. If you speak up and speak against the treatment that has placed or bestowed on you as participant. You will be banned or have your resources that they offer the participants that part take in activities taken away from you.

Management is JOKE! Management loves to gaslight whenever called into account.
Amazing staff, they are very kind and provide you with full information.
They give you quite good food.
Good daily meals here. Please allow more than one visit per month for the food bank for users that live within the service area.
Lady on the counter is very helpful. They give fresh food and hot meal. God bless to all who's helping in this initiative.
I rate Black cap as one of the leading organizations when it comes to assisting vulnerable people in canada. From substance users to PLWA
The most amazing all in one community hub in the area. This is a non judgement all welcome atmosphere where people from the area can come and have a hot meal, get help with food assistance or seek guidance from one of the many helpful staff that are trying to do whatever they can to remedy a situation. This center is based primarily on kind hearted volunteers who give their all to make what could be a stressful situation a positive one while their visiting. So, whether anyone is in need of a hot meal, or an immediate shortage of food. This is the place. Yes, it is not massive, but it packs a strong foundation and offers programs that really do make a difference in someone’s everyday life. Check it out, research it online, or even volunteer a few days a week and make a difference in someone’s life.
Respectful and hard working staffs, dedicated and accommodating especially Mr Jimoh Bello, treated me like he's known me forever, takes time and patience to listen to any of your enquiries, i know everyone who encounters him must have a thing or two new things to say. My visit was worth the while,
Great service by personnel, although today was a one off packed day.

Seeing lots of hungry people in Toronto left Rosbie troubled, the engine sped off early in misery. Another problem to solve.

Looking for answers.

Wonderful staff at the food bank adjacent this location.
Bless
If I could give zero stars, I would.
This has been my third time going to this food bank/church, and each time I've gone, I've been discriminated against on multiple things because I'm what they would deem as 'lower class' or 'poor'.

You list yourselves as an emergency food bank but the last two times I've gone I've had to BEG for food for me and my cats.
Either 'no one is working' or 'the food bank isn't open today.' which again doesn't make sense if you're an EMERGENCY food bank. Also, if someone is telling me no one is working today, why can't they help me? Aren't they supposed to be there to help? Isn't that what Jesus preaches?

Plus, I've seen in the freezers and fridges in your back room, they're FILLED with food and yet you tell people that come by needing help, that you have nothing. Some items are even listed "DO NOT TOUCH." almost as if you're reserving specific items for specific people or either yourselves. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the donations that this church receives goes right into the pockets and tummies of the people working there, not the people in the community who need it.

On two different occasions I've been told to get rid of my cats so I can feed myself.

On every occasion I've been there I've been made to feel like I'm not supposed to be there and that I shouldn't even be asking for food and have been rushed out the door.

I'm appalled that you call yourselves a church and promote the word of God but couldn't take two seconds out of your day until I BEGGED you and started to tear up in front of your patrons, to help me.
The only reason you decided to help was because people started looking, and you're a church, so of course you have an image to maintain once people start turning heads.

As the niece of a very high Arch Bishop, who has been raised and baptized within the Church, I'm shocked this is how you treat God's Children.
It’s my space where I feel safe and loved by everyone and had a lots of educative programs
At first I was treated well in my early year when I was a new comer around 2019-2020 but recently I’ve had a very bad experience with Jimoh Beloh who has been recently uplifted as a Newcomer Settlement Coordinator. He had a lot of pride in his replies and treated me as trash. I reported it to Robin - BIPOC Alliance Harm Reduction Coordinator and told me I’ll receive a call from the executive manager but nothing was done. I really feel unattended and unwelcome at BlackCAP
Great Place. HOT MEALS. Bingo. Good bank.
A male cooking Group.
I went today to provide the documents required to get food assistance but the dark skin tall lady was not nice she just wanted me to leave. It seemed that she is donating from her pocket.

My granddaughter brought me here she wasn't able to try on anything so we didn't buy anything.
Great staff, very calm attitude. Attention is prompt. Theres always someone to attend to you. Provide a safe place for one to feel free and happy.
Maintain your pride in this well-attended food bank. Hampers are available to residents in the catchment area once a month, but breakfast (9:00 - 10:00) and lunch (12:00-13:00) is available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Bring your identification (I used my drivers license with my old address and a PDF of my phone bill with my current address) to the super-friendly volunteers at the reception desk. They’ll issue you a member card good for the year to collect your hamper. Volunteers and staff members are sensitive to dietary restrictions and observances. Status update: 2021-09-20 the breakfast and lunch programs are on hold due to the COVID-19 protocols. Too bad - this was an awesome service for the community. Please get vaccinated so we can eradicate this virus and get back to community meals! Please note there are a number of other programs available for the community to access. See thestop.org for full details of programs at all three sites. Finally, a special shout out to the staff and volunteers who make The Stop a welcoming and inclusive experience.

Dropped off a bag of clothes. The guy was so thankful and positive. He said that they've been there 29 years but no one knows about it, so I'm trying to spread the good word.
I have frequently donated money to support this society. I recently donated $200 through the Chimp Foundation. Since this latter foundation took some time to forward the donation, I contacted Black Coalition For AIDS Prevention (BCAP) to see if the funds had been received. The response received stated that someone would get back to me. To date I have not had a reply. I would have thought that the BCAP would make every effort to confirm receipt of donations, but this has not been the case. With this lack of response, I will be looking for another charity to give my hard earned money.

I have updated my original review from one star to four since I heard back from BCAP that my donation, minus a deduction, had been received. Based on this reply, I now know how much of my future donations will be received by this organization.
They have a nice gym! but no basketball drop in? No open gym? Not much of a church to me if they are not going to let the community use the gym.
Local Salvation Army temple I have been going for years. They ate a great community church. They also run a food bank, toy drives and all sorts of fundraisers and community meals. If you are in need this is the place to go.

Small place that helps a lot of people! Our community is lucky to have this close by. Very caring people.

This small and unassuming community group provides food, clothing and support to over 50 people in a community that is generally thought of being well-off.
Great place to meet new people! Always serves fresh breakfast every Thursday Morning
