We had an absolute blast on our boat trip! The crew was absolutely amazing and made the trip unforgettable. I highly recommend this boat!!!

I had one of the best experience on a boat in my hometown. The staff on board was so welcoming and informative on how things work on the boat and all the rules and safety precautions. Rochelle was the sweetest girl on the boat, making sure we were all having a good time. We had great views of the cityline & statue of liberty. We got to play our own music , bring our own foods and drinks. I would highly recommend and I would definitely do this again.

Had a friends birthday party on one of their beautiful boats and we had a time!! The crew was super nice and the captain allowed us to drive the boat which was really cool. Rochelle was a breakout star! She made sure we knew where everything was and had no problem turning up and chatting with everyone. I’m looking forward to my next trip with you! What a great time I had with a bunch of my friends on the boat with NYC by Water. The boat could not be any cleaner and the crew (Captain Mark and Josh) could not have been more respectful. Going through the waters of NYC was an amazing experience. Super exciting and will 100% be booking with NYC by water again.

Best charter company in all of NYC!!! The crew was absolutely incredible- so kind, welcoming, hospitable, and fun. The boat was so beautiful. Spacious, spotless, and plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the views. The captain was super accommodating with where we asked him to take us. He even took us really close up to the State of Liberty per our request. Rochelle helped us with all our needs, from music to portable chargers to towels and more. We played music, swam, ate, drank, and truly had an incredible time all thanks to the wonderful crew. Really can’t wait to do it again!!! Thank you so much!!

Overall, I did not appreciate the lack of communication from the New York Sailing Center and I would caution potential customers about booking a course here without taking a CAREFUL read to their refund policy.

When I read the reviews and initially spoke to Steve I knew that this could be a great place to gain more sailing experience. However, the way that business is run here has left me disappointed and out of the $1K I spent to learn how to sail.

For full transparency, I booked a course for July 2023 which I subsequently asked to change to a later date that season. The policy states that you are NOT entitled to a refund unless your spot can be filled. Luckily, my spot was filled in July and my course was pushed back to Sept 2023. When the date of my scheduled course finally came around I received absolutely NO communication about when the course would start, where to meet etc. Only after I reached out myself did I learn that the course was cancelled since the sailing center did not have enough people to run the course. However, due to the refund policy, I was not allowed to get my money back and was asked to schedule another course in 2024.

While it is fair if your spot cannot be filled that you do not receive a refund, in this case the sailing center themselves cancelled the course. So why am I out of the money I paid? At this point, the New York Sailing Center has held on to my money for over a year now and I have received no course or service.

I went to an event this evening on the boat. I was never pleased with the food on most of these cruises. I was pleasantly surprised everything was delicious. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely book an event with Atlantis of NY Cruises.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff and crew of NY Cruises. My father's 90th Birthday Party was exceptional. I can't say enough words to express my gratitude to Amanda from start to finish, she worked with me to make it a success and it was phenomenal. My family and friends all send their thanks for a Great Event and express their Gratitude. Gratitude is a God Given Attitude.

Absolutely a great night night.could not have been better. A anniversary cruise for our fire department. Crew unbelievably polite and attentive. Excptional food and a clean pristine yacht not one hitch the views outstanding and cruisining speed perfect to take it all in. a grand view of lady liberty dead center the captain paused right in front. Sailing with Steve was one of my most enjoyable days on the water. I took advantage of his offer to learn a bit more about boat prep for the season and transit from one location to another. Looking forward to another blue bird day.

Amanda and her crew are amazing! They are professional, kind, and provide the best service I’ve ever received - the full package. After meeting Amanda we knew the Atlantis was where we wanted to have our wedding. Amanda is extremely responsive, answering any question we could have. She also listens and respects all of your decisions and requests while also knowing the best way to proceed with your event. She made of wedding magical and set up the Atlantis to exceed my expectations - I can’t stress enough how perfect the boat looked after Amanda set it up and just how smooth the event ran under her expertise. The Atlantis is modern, well maintained, and all around a stunning place to have a wedding (or any event). Our guests kept mentioning our wedding on the Atlantis was the best wedding they’ve ever been to! That testament is directly related to Amanda and her staff. Not to mention the food and drinks were so tasty!! I can’t express enough how much you should book your event on the Atlantis!!

I am absolutely blown away with the top tier service we received from the members of the Atlantis. We had our sons baptism party on the ship, and the staff, food, and service was a 10 out of 10. We worked with Amanda and Jamie and they made the experience easy and uncomplicated. They were extremely helpful and friendly throughout the whole experience. We cruised all the way to the city, and our guests were impressed with the VIP view of Manhattan. Thank you so very much! I can’t wait to do another party with the Atlantis

We attended a fabulous and intimate birthday party on the Atlantis. The yacht was well maintained and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was above average. The weather was not ideal as we sailed under mostly stormy skies. So the top deck was not used after we left the dock. I would recommend checking into this company if you are looking to do an upscale party, wedding, or outing. Cruising on the Hudson is a nice way to celebrate, especially on a day of good weather.

I met Steve while looking for a Yacht Club. I joined a club but went back to Steve to get my ASA certification. I have been sailing for many years so Steve put together a challenge plan where I could sail with him and take the tests. He was very flexible and all worked as planned.
I had the opportunity to spend time on the water with Steve. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. While sailing in a group he was very engaging and always pointed out things to learn. Everyone moved forward and learned.
I recommend Steve for anyone learning to sail or like me to get your ASA certification.

Alex and Edward are pretty awesome. It was my first tug boat experience and I have to admit I’m a fan. I went with my dad (a big time boater) and fiancé. They LOVED it. I highly recommend gifting this experience to the men in your life for Father’s Day, birthday, or just a thank you. It was worth every penny. The hosts will leave you with a memorable impression- they are characters.

My partner and I decided to take a ride on this lovely boat thanks to the captains Alex and Eduard. We wanted to do something different and sweet. Alex and Eduard were extremely accommodating and professional. They responded to our inquiries quickly and helped us make the day memorable! We had a lovely picnic in the back of the cabin where we sat and truly enjoyed the scenery! We also wanted to try something new so we did thanks to Alex and Eduard’s help! We went fishing. My partner and I have zero experience finishing but Alex and Eduard's expertise really made it worthwhile and fun. They were so patient, nice and conversational! It didn’t feel awkward and it ended up being one of the best dates my partner and I have had. Thank you Alex and Eduard for this wonderful experience and time!

My family and I went on a full day trip, it was such a great experience, Alex and Edward were extremely nice, we got treated as royalty. The boat ride was very peacful, my family and I loved the water. I will definatly come back on a Friday night and see the fireworks sometime. 10/10 service

I was initially attracted to this sailing school for two reasons: I was convinced by the website that learning to sail on the Hudson would cause me to spend more time fighting currents than learning the fundamentals of handling a keelboat. Second, I liked the sense of humor on the web page.

If you look at my reviews on Yelp, I had a miserable experience with a "sailing school" in Miami that took my family out on a boat for a liveaboard course, and didn't raise the sails at all. We had no instruction and, after three days on a boat under fantastic conditions for sailing, did not have the opportunity to raise a sail, much less tack or jibe.

New York Sailing Center is the absolute opposite. With Chip as our instructor, it was all sailing, all the time. We only talked about sailing (and old movies and TV shows during quieter moments on the boat). It is quite clear that the intention of this school is to teach people how to sail. And the waters off City Island proved to be exactly as billed -- perfect practice areas with more wind than water current.

The ASA 101 course is taught over 3 days (instead of 2), and we are also offered practice sailing sessions after the course is completed.
I will be back with New York Sailing Center to complete all my certification courses!

I went to this school for my ASA 104 course. The instructor Steve is a very knowledgeable instructor who can explain all things sailing in a very simple and concise manner. He has been the best instructor I had so far. We learned on a pretty barebone Pearson 10m which made the whole experience was very hands on.
I can totally recommend the NewYork Sailing Center!

The location could be more convenient to the subway, but it's worth it for the value you will get here. I've taken ASA 101, 103, and 105 at other sailing schools, but ASA 104 with Steve was probably the most educational. Also, Steve takes you sailing the whole day without a rush to get off the water, so that was great.

Five stars, hands down.

Took the 3-day Basic Keelboat class (aka ASA 101) with Chip and it was terrific. The classroom sessions are low-key but instructive and many of the concepts you learn will click once you step onto the boat.

Over the 3 days you'll learn all the basics and you will be on the boat sailing each day.

School owner Steve really knows how to run a sailing program. If you've always wanted to learn how to sail, this is the place to do it.

Excellent sailing school!

I recommend this to school to anyone with an interest, or even a little interest in learning to sail. They make it fun, easy, and very hands on. You get plenty of time at the "helm" (or should I say tiller). You learn everything from prepping your boat to actual sailing to science of sailing. Everything that is taught is very easy to understand and they cater to all people and all experience levels.

I have taken two courses (ASA 101 and 105) and they are a great value for the price. You get so much more than what you pay for. CPT Steve is a great teacher and he's beyond an expert.

I'd give this school 6 stars if I could.
