The place is lovely. The staff is friendly, polite and helpful. I was really impressed by them. The ones who have worked at Teatro Massimo, Palermo are really rude. I had a great experience there and hope to go back soon.

The website with information on the tours is not available.
You can just go there and they have a tour every hour from 10 a.m. (at least on weekdays). The tour costs 6€ and lasts around 45 mins.
Unfortunately when we were there they were testing the lights so we could see the main stage properly.
However the rest of the tour is really nice and the guide gave some interesting information. Especially the upper floors are beautiful.
Please note that the tour is available only in Italian (at least when we went) - the guide allowed me to translate for my wife who doesn't speak Italian

Tours are at nine, 10, 11 and maybe 12. Unfortunately they are apparently all in Italian even though the guide speaks English. The place looks like it used to be very lovely but now it is kind of rundown. We were not allowed to go near the stage or backstage which I think would’ve been fun. It is not expensive so it’s still worth it to go and see but we thought it could’ve been a lot better.
My first visit to a teatro big as this one and I’m fascinated. We tool a guided tour (6.5 eur/person) and the guideance was bilingual (Italian and English). I definitelly want to experience an opera in this place.
Teatro Metropolitan, nestled in the heart of Catania, is a gem that beckons lovers of art and culture. This historical theater is a testament to the city's vibrant cultural scene.

As you step into this enchanting venue, you'll find yourself transported to a world where the performing arts come alive. The theater's intimate setting creates a sense of connection between the audience and the performers, making every show a truly immersive experience.

Surrounded by a bustling neighborhood filled with bars and restaurants, Teatro Metropolitan is not just a place to enjoy a show; it's the centerpiece of a lively cultural hub. The only challenge you might encounter is parking, but the theater's accessibility via local transport, including buses, ensures that you can reach it with ease.

Steeped in history, Teatro Metropolitan has been hosting a wide range of cultural and artistic events for decades. From theatrical performances to concerts, it's a venue that constantly surprises and delights its patrons. The comfortable seating and well-organized facilities make every visit a pleasure.

While the theater's interior is a treasure trove of art and culture, it's worth noting that better signage could enhance the overall experience. Nevertheless, the programming here, whether theatrical or musical, consistently ranks among the best in the city.

Teatro Metropolitan is a cultural gem that continues to shine brightly in Catania's cultural landscape. If you're seeking an evening filled with art, music, and enchantment, this theater should be at the top of your list. It's a place where memories are made and where the magic of the performing arts takes center stage. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry that Teatro Metropolitan weaves with each performance.

Majestic, impressive, quite different than your usual theatre, a unique warmer color.
Baroque art in all its mastery again.
Would love to catch a representation in this amazing building.
Very beautiful old theater. The only missing point is that they don't have a bar or a restaurant, where you can have a drink in the pause.
I had a mid day guided tour as part of a French and Italian group. However the English speaking guide joined and I had a one to one experience. She was wonderful and full of knowledge about The Bellini Theatre.
Thank you so much 🙏 Michael.
It is no doubt one of the most unique opera buildings in the world, combined with its symbolism of staging Aida the first time.

The acoustics were okay, the theatre itself a bit stuffy. However overall our view was nice and we had a pleasant time.
Biggest theater 🎭 in Catania
Great Opera theater with impressive external and internal architecture and decoration.

Friendly personal, good acoustics, comfortable seats.

Not even expensive, from 60 to 90 euro per central seat, and only 5 euro for a Prosecco at the bar.

Highly recommended! 👌👍
My first tour inside an opera house. Totally worth it we agree. The tour guide spoke english too. We took the 11 am tour. Not too big a group.

The tour last around 45 mins max.

You get to sit inside for a few mins. Experience how it feels to among a full house of 1500 people (max capacity).

The big hall at the top is where audiences take a break at intermission. Also amazing art work worth watching.

My recommendation:
Absolutely worth it.

Ticket price: 8 euros
Duration: 45 mins
Old but quite good looking theater. Unfortunately, the chairs are already uncomfortable.
