This prime ghat of Varanasi is situated near Kashi Vishwanath Temple. In the year 1748, the ghat was built by Peshwa Balaji Rao who was the 8th Maratha emperor of India. Legend states that Lord Brahma sacrificed ten horses while performing a yagna here and created the ghat while welcoming Lord Shiva.

History of Brahma Ghat is a very ancient. This ghat was first cemented by Narayan Dixit in the year 1740. Before that this ghat was unpaved. According to Matsya Purana, Brahma ji came to Kashi on the orders of Lord Shiva. The place which Lord Brahma had made his residence in Kashi. That place itself is known as Brahma Ghat. The ancient idol of Lord Brahma is still present here.

This ghat of Varanasi holds great importance as it has second ancient Bramha Temple after Pushkar.
Also over the Ghat has multiple attraction and shopping points like Kashi Dham Museum, Golden Grace Sarees Varanasi, Gulabi Meenakari Artisans and much more.
Pay a visit to all the mentioned places you will be surprised.

Built at the same time as Durga Ghat to the south, Kasi Matha Sansthana monastery is located at the top of the ghat.

The former name of this ghat was Jarasandha Ghat, which is mentioned in the Girvanapadmanjari. Around 1735 AD, the huge fort located at Ghat and the Ghat was built by Mir Rustam Ali, the then Faujdar of Kashi. Due to the construction of Mir Rustam Ali Ghat, it was later called Mir Ghat. It is first mentioned by Prinsep by the name Mirghat. The second major temple on the ghat is that of Vishalakshi Devi. This is the second temple of Kashi, which has been constructed in the South Indian temple architectural tradition consisting of Gopuram and Dravid Shikhar. Vishalakshadevi is one of the Nav Gauris of Kashi.

The temple had been demolished several times, most recently by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who constructed the Gyanvapi Mosque on its site. The current structure was built on an adjacent site by the Maratha ruler Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore in 1780
Since 1983, the temple has been managed by a board of trustees set up by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
Located on the banks of the holy Ganges, Varanasi is regarded among the holiest of the Hindu cities. The Kashi Vishwanath temple is widely recognised as one of the most important places of worship in the Hindu religion. Inside the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is the Jyotirlinga of Shiva, Vishveshvara or Vishvanath. The Vishveshvara Jyotirlinga has a very special and unique significance in the spiritual history of India.

Om namah Shibay🙏. Kasi Biswanath is the main jyortirlinga among the 12 jyortirlingas. It is located on the bank of river Ganga. The new temple was constructed by maharani Ahalyabai of Indore and majaraj Ranjit Singh covered the temple with gold. Newly formed Kashi Biswanath corridor is mindblowing. Security check is very tight in here one have to left all the electronic articles, pen, shoes, bags/luggages, cosmetics etc. before entering the mandir premises. Sparh darsan is available from4to5 both in morning and evening. You have to buy online ticket for dawn arati darsan. It is better to buy tickets for special darsan at ₹300.The Gayanbapyi well and Nandi statue at the north of the main mandir describes the brutality of Sultanas and Mughlas.Water of Gayanbapyi well is very precious. You have to visit Maa Annapurna mandir after visiting Bhole baba.

Visited Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi and was awe-struck by its spiritual aura. The ancient architecture and sacred vibes make it a must-visit. The intricate details and the energy of the place are truly captivating. However, be prepared for the crowds, especially during peak hours. Overall, a profound experience at one of the holiest shrines in India.

Place of Religious Importance
I had visited this temple earlier about 8 years back. The only difference I found was the thoughtless infrastructural development.
The rickshaw or your private vehicle can drop you till a point and after that you just have to walk endlessly to reach any temple or ghat in kashi. The richshawwallas will tell you that they will drop you till the entrance but that’s not true or even possible. Please be careful while fixing the price. However, there are wheelchair puller available here and they can drop people to their destination for a charge.
The waiting time here is always long, so a ticket is preferable. These tickets are available at booths managed by authorities. I suggest not buying it from anywhere else but these booths ONLY.
Once you have the ticket, you enter the premises through one of the worst security checks.
The entrance security disallowed my selfie stick (which I had decided to keep in the locker but that was inside temple premises) and a pack of wet tissue and wanted to confiscate it, but I approached the ticket booth and requested them to help in the regard and it was taken care of and duly returned.
After we entered the main gates, we put our footwear on the shoe racks and approached the locker facility and submitted mobile phones and large hand bag that we had with us. Small purses and money pouches are allowed inside. The lockers being limited as compared to the devotees visiting, one might have to wait for it to be available.
One has to go through a couple of security checks before you can enter the temple premises. There is no specific prohibited item in this unique security checks. Whatever the security likes (specially the female security), is termed as prohibited and forcefully, abusively and permanently confiscated. I and my companions were shocked to lose lip balms, pocket VapoRub’s, expensive stationery items (pens and dairy), sanitizers, cosmetic items, etc, never to get it back.
I suggest you keep everything in the lockers.
Once you enter the premises after losing your valuables to the security, you have to be vigilant and find your queue if you have the paid ticket. After checking your ticket, you will be asked to join the line which goes from anywhere. You have to be careful!
After about an hour, you get the darshan from outside the garbhgruh. Not allowed till the Shivling, one can just view it for a fraction of a second from outside before the security pulls you out.
Gyanvapi well is located right in front of one of the doors of the garbhgruh. The well has been filled up and closed and covered with nirmalya.
Right next to it is the huge Nandi facing the supposed Shivling in the ablution area of the disputed gyanvapi masjid.
Darshan of this Shivlinga is NOT Available and it is not even visible from anywhere as the disputed area has been covered.
Once out from the temple premise at gate number 10 there is an approach way to the manikarnika Ghat. one can get a decent view from there of the ganges but its a oneway. once you go to the ghat from here you cant come back and have to forcibly go through all security checks over again and get in the general queue. So be careful where ever you enter. Its completely mismanaged.

As I had gone during pitrupaksha, in the morning, there were rituals at many places, the shores were dirty with too many litters. Wish visitors were more responsible.

The new temple premise is huge, spacious and beautiful. Now the golden tower of the temple is starkly visible. Earlier we used to visit just for darshan while this time we could see the beauty and divinity too. The systems are well placed with all facilities especially wheelchairs for old people. It's neat and dry except when it's raining. The only worst experience we had was in toilets. There was no water hence we were prevented to use them. The taps were broken. No proper maintenance and process for cleaning. Too many security personnel but very little guidance.

My visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple was truly incredible. I felt the divine presence of Lord Shiva in a way that words can't capture. It was an unexpected and deeply moving experience that left me speechless. If you're seeking a profound spiritual connection, I strongly urge you to visit this sacred place. It's an experience that words can't do justice—you have to experience it for yourself.

Har Har Mahadev! 🙏
This is a very auspicious temple. The Shivlinga in the garbagriha feels as if Bholenath himself is sitting there. I feel very lucky and blessed to get the lord's darshan. This temple corridor is very well made and looks very beautiful especially at night time.

Title: A Divine Experience at Kashi Viswanath Mandir!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Review:
As a devout Mahadev devotee, visiting Kashi Viswanath Mandir was an experience that left me awe-inspired and spiritually rejuvenated. This ancient temple holds an unparalleled charm that is difficult to put into words. Here's why I highly recommend this sacred place to anyone seeking a profound spiritual journey.
From the moment I entered the temple premises, I was overwhelmed by the palpable energy and serenity that enveloped the entire area. The sheer devotion and faith exhibited by the devotees from all walks of life were truly inspiring. It's a testament to the temple's significance and the deep-rooted connection people have with Lord Shiva.
The architecture of the Kashi Viswanath Mandir is a marvel in itself. The intricate carvings and the grandeur of the temple structure exude an air of timeless beauty. Walking through the corridors, I couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence and humility. The sanctum sanctorum, where the lingam of Lord Shiva resides, is the focal point of devotion. The atmosphere inside is charged with spirituality, and the priests perform the rituals with utmost dedication.
One of the most incredible aspects of visiting Kashi Viswanath Mandir is the opportunity to witness the Ganga Aarti. This divine ritual takes place every evening, and the sight of the lamps flickering in unison along the banks of the holy Ganges is a sight that will stay etched in my memory forever. The aarti fills the air with a sense of sacredness, devotion, and a deep connection with the divine.
The temple management deserves special mention for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the smooth flow of devotees. Despite the substantial influx of visitors, the orderly queues and efficient crowd management made the entire experience comfortable and hassle-free.
Visiting Kashi Viswanath Mandir is not just about seeking blessings but also about immersing oneself in the rich spiritual heritage of India. The surrounding lanes and ghats offer an enchanting glimpse into the cultural tapestry of Varanasi. Exploring the narrow alleys and observing the rituals and practices of the locals added a whole new dimension to my visit.
I highly recommend planning your visit to Kashi Viswanath Mandir during the early morning or late evening hours to avoid the rush and experience a more intimate connection with the divine. Remember to dress modestly and respect the temple customs and traditions.
In conclusion, Kashi Viswanath Mandir is a place of immense spiritual significance that has the power to touch the hearts and souls of devotees. It offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in devotion, witness timeless rituals, and experience the divine presence of Lord Shiva. A visit to this sacred abode is a transformative journey that I will cherish forever.

This is one of the holiest and 12 Jyotirlinga's around the world.
It has recently been renovated and now it's appealing and spacious compared to the older one.
The washroom is extremely neat and clean.
I went after sunset with my friend and there was a very long queue, but after struggling for more than 1 hour in the queue finally I reached the temple,
But you have to be aware of the shopkeepers outside of the temple because they charge too much from the visitors. The locker factory facility is completely free inside the temple between 09:00 - 22:00
Apart from all this this is a holy and must visit place in India.

This Ghat is built by Bhonsale of Nagpur. They also built fort castle like structure close to the bank. It is less crowded, clean and well maintained ghat

Experience the spiritual vibes of Varanasi's ghats and temples it is nice place to learn about Hinduism culture.

Nice place to sit.
Live music nearby hotel.
The water is not that clean.

It's very peaceful. Near brahma ghat there is a museum named 'Kashi Dham' you can explore.

Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful from this shore. Pilgrimage. Can dip in ganga from this spot.

Quit, serene and definitely less crowded as compared to other ghats. Good place to spend a peaceful evening/morning.

Built in the 18th Century by the Bhosales of Maratha Empire , this magnificent fort like structure with broad steps leading to the river Ganga , is a very picturesque site . Especially when viewed from the boat. Pilgrims do not crowd in this ghat, so it is a good, clean place to sit peacefully in the evening and watch the flowing river .

It's near to assi Ghat there are alot of passage just walk and lost you will find alot of mini and amazing temples

You can take bath here in gangaji in early morning.
I also enjoyed much.
Very holy and safe place

Here you are safe to dip in the Ganga river.

Cool n calm Place on the banks of ganges can stay at kashinmatt the building visible just above the ghat can take a bath in ganges during stay can do meditation which would be wonderful experience, can hire a boat from here by paying ₹700/for ganga arati or just for to enjoy the ride through the ganges or can walk through the ghats to reach manikarnika ghat, vishwanath temple or dashswamedh ghat.

Panchganga Ghat is at walking distance from the Kaal Bhairava Mandir. It’s more serene and peaceful place as it is relatively unexplored by the tourists. Many famous math like Tailang Swami math,Shree math etc are present here.
The best part was the path leading to Panchganga ghat from Kaal Bhairava temple, amidst the colourful lanes of Varanasi.

Bhosale ghat is not much far from Dashaswamedh ghat, its a connected ghat so you can easily reach here from Dashaswamedh moving towards Pachganga ghat. What I love about this ghat is that it is less crowded and quite peaceful where you can spend some nice time with yourself and your friends.
Also, when you are coming to this ghat kindly throw any kind of the wastes in the dustbin only.
Mahadev

Was very clean and beautiful. If u are looking for solace Panchganga ghat is preferred choice over Dashashwamedh ghat. In Kartik month Akashdeep beside ghat are special attraction. U can stay for hours at this place both at evening or morning. Sunrise and sunset are mesmerizing from here. Stairs are again very beautiful as they are very steep. Now a days clean ghats are such a relief. This season is again very favourite to me as we have special guest in the form of Syberian migratory birds. They becomes so friendly that the feed food directly from your hand.

Bhonsale Ghat built in 1780, is named after Maratha king Bhonsale of Nagpur.
It was renovated in 1795.
There are more than 84 ghats which have existed for hundreds of years on the bank of the river Ganges.
It is one of the panoramic ghats which has a palatial stone building with many artistic windows on top.
It has three heritage temples, Lakshminarayan Temple, Yameshwar Temple & Yamaditya Temple.

This is a relatively serene place and more clean. The view is very good. You can reach Kachouri gali on foot in around 15 minutes. You will love to negotiate very narrow lanes with cows as your companion. It's a unique experience. This ghats is the best ghats for taking bath.

Vishwanath Mandir Corridor being built up in starting phase for devotees to get direct access from Ganges ghat to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. People of Varanasi are overwhelmed by ongoing process of demolition of oldest homes in very narrow street of varanasi.
Heartiest thanks to the people who gave away their homes to government for build up of corridor.

It is showing shadow of Maratha Samrajya in it's construction. I can say Most Photogenic Place of 86 Ghats of Varansi.
It's beautiful and if you see from far it is more beautiful like you have never seen before this type of ancient construction on the bank of river.

One of the great Ghat of Varanasi and most of the Sandhu's are going to take Punya from God and a beautiful and natural Ghat in Varanasi..... It's just some of Km. Away from the Manikarnika Ghat......... Most of the time the Ganga overflow and it's water reached to the top of the ghat.......... But this ghat is a heavy wall which tried to stop that

Whenever you visit Varanasi, do try to take a ferry ride n visit the ghats by it, the view itself is mesmerising and soothing.
I was on a similar trip, went there to complete some holy rites and after that took a dip in river Ganga and then took the ferry. It felt great to see the maintenance and cleanliness works going on to ensure the hygiene is maintained. The boatman was knowledgeable and did share some historic facts, which I forgot.
The experience can't be explained, visit there to feel it.
Winters would be the best time to visit.

It's beautiful ghat built in somewhere in 1700 AD when the city was part of maratha empire. The ghat is famous for it's ancient architecture. There are many films have been shot here. Because it's beautiful view people often come here for photo shoot.

It's an amazing place, very neat, clean and well maintained. Ganga River force is more here, so take care while taking bath.

In the mornings, if I'm not taking photographs from the balcony of the nearby guest house I usually stay in, then I love to do so just outside at this ghat.
I've always found it pretty clean (except on the morning after Deepawali - broken clay lamps everywhere), boats are easily caught here - infact you'll probably be asked if you want a ride. Small shops and cafes await you just up the steps and around the corner, as well as the restaurants of Alka hotel & Ganpati guest house.
If you sit underneath one of those umbrellas, do be careful, they are made of stone and hurt when you bumb your head!

One of best holy & historical place in Varanasi at Ganga Ghat. Nice & peace full location. In the morning religious. Devotees pray, have holy bath, so many small temples. Only mosqu of heritage value. Constructed in the moghal era.

We visit this ghat during uttarayan here is less crowded instead of other ghat we enjoy lots of kites here with here's batman's children all navik(boat drivers) are very good, we higher a personal boat to Dashashwamedh ghat for only in 200 inr.. On the way navik shows all the ghats and tell that history guide us

A famous and attractive Ghat, many people come to take a holy bath here. The priests are very amiable. They talk with the visitors very friendly and tell the Introduction and history of the places and ghats.
