I think this place is overrated for it's ramen. I got the "#1 best seller" tonkatsu ramen with everything. I was very disappointed. First, my egg was over cooked and wasn't presented like all the eggs seen in other photos. Second, the overall flavor of the ramen wasn't as expected, it was dull and lackluster. Third, the noodles felt cheap given that it costs an extra $2 to upgrade to premium noodles. I've had much better ramen at other places and don't recommend this place. Service wise, there's a form to fill out when placing an order which is convenient but overall service is lacking. I also tried the karage and it was good, but I expected better from this ramen house that supposedly serves authentic, premium ramen.

The ramen here is the best I've had so far, and the staff is excellent. This place never disappoints. However, the place is quite small and I dislike sitting so close to others. Despite the cramped space, the ramen is very delicious with a great distribution of veggies and meat.
I have been a loyal customer for over 7 years. No place is better than Hakata Ikkousha. The ramen with everything toping is a must. You don’t need to think which toping should you get, because you will get EVERYTHING. Dont forget the stamp card!

I don’t really get the hype around this place. Ordered a few items; one of them was a spicy tuna roll. It was not good. The roll was huge, which is not ideal for a hand roll. It should be delicately rolled with the right amount of fish and veggies. This one was just a bunch of overcooked rice stuffed with some “orange” tuna, which tasted spicy. Never ordering from there again.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Everything is amazing. The green bean started and the Tantan Men are like a once a week requirement.

The service and staff are always friendly and wonderful. The space is clean and the vibe is chill and very family oriented.

Look out for Sunday/Monday closures.

I got the Garlic Truffle Ramen and must say I’m impressed. It’s been a while since I visited this place and gets the regular tonkutsu silverlake ramen. I gave this a shot and did not regret! It made it more appetizing paired with their “in house spicy sauce”that they make. The serving is actually big and justifies the $18 price. I also went on a tuesday night so the crowd is not bad, only waited like 15 mins. Staff were nice and pretty much happy overall.

I came here on a recommendation from someone and I’ll definitely be back. This place is insanely good. I got a spicy chicken ramen dish. It was incredible the food was flavorful, and the spice was perfect. They’ve made a lifetime customer.

Great ramen and delicious and surprisingly big rolls (I got ones with shrimp), but their gyodza were sooo deep fried OMG, why? As a lover of true Japanese style gyodza I was a bit disappointed. The place itself is tiny and not cozy at all. Service was fast and good.
Extremely disappointed!!! Gyoza were absolute grease-balls! Tasted like greasy hamburgers. Gross! Worst gyoza I’ve ever had. Tonkatsu ramen flavorless. Ugh. And the waitress ignored our topping selection and simply added everything. So disappointed!

Went here for the Naruto collab and also it’s a classic spot for ramen which I never tried. So no time like the present, ordered the spicy ramen with some Gyoza’s, didn’t disappoint.

I'm not as into ramen as some people but my family loves it so we've hit many spots on the Westside. This was easily the best tasting I've had.

I had the spicy miso and tried a few other dishes frim our group. Everything was delicious!

This place is nice. I had the Spicy Ramen. It was the right amount of spice with lots of flavor. It was delicious. I will gladly drive from San Diego to the place again.
Yumeya is my favorite Ramen Restaurant. we are going to take Gyoza (dumpings) 🥟 and Tomkosu 🍜 Ramen. So delicious.... 5⭐️s.

The vegan ramen and the vegan gyoza, both amazing. Loved it a lot. Same the edamamme soy beans. Nice staff.

Food itself is fantastic, but giving it a lower rating because of portions.

I know inflation times, but prices have gone up and portions have gone down.

These new bowls are a joke. They're wide and big but bottom is small to give the illusion you're getting portions like in the past. In the past you would receive a full egg and 2 portions of pork.

Now you get one pork portion and half an egg in the new bowls.

Found this spot last week when a storm passed by Los Angeles. It was all seats taken but I was able to do a take a take out. Wasn't really expecting something just something to eat when we got home. It was good. Unique flavor. I tried the miso and soy ramen.

Today I brought the whole family we had a lot to eat I wanted to try the menu. We will be taking out some food for tommorow but I'm happy with the food.
Great fast food ramen place featuring traditional ramen and also dipping ramen (tsukemen). Reasonable prices, quick service, consistent food quality. Parking tough to find but great place to be dropped off and picked up.

Still amazing.

We've been going to the Pasadena location for years, and only visited this one occasionally but it's always been great, and showed they'll continue to be great when we went today. The broth is always flavorful and rich, the noodles and chashu are cooked perfectly, and the flavor is just right. There's a reason they gave limited changes allowed to their menu, it's perfectly balanced.
The staff is friendly and inviting, happy to explain the options and whatnot. The flavored egg, while a little expensive, is a perfect addition to any of their ramen options and totally worth it.
A coworker recommended this place for the Fried Chicken, but everything here is great!

Easily one of the best Ramen spots in Little Tokyo. We got in at 5:30, wrote down our orders, and were served quickly. I had the Black Devil ramen, very rich, spicy and flavorful. We went premium for toppings and it is the perfect amount. The atmosphere is pretty comfortable but fast paced, however we did not feel rushed. Can't wait to come back here and try more!

We got the Classic ramen and the
Chicken Karaage bowl. With a creamy broth this is a sight change with the traditional ramen. The noodles, were a bit skinny and today on flavor reminding me of the noodles of to ramen. The chicken bowl was fried chicken done well, keeping it simple, it's not fancy, its not complex, it doesn't have allot of different things going on, just chicken and rice done well.
Black devil ramen is a must try. Broth is very flavorful. Very authentic Hakata-style ramen.
I was stationed in Okinawa years ago and I can honestly say this was like walking back into time. The food was amazing (I ordered the chicken ramen) and the service was great. The lady spoke to me in Japanese but I could understand from the few broken words I remembered! If you want some authentic ramen this is your place. Flavors were out of this world.

I didn't leave any tip and my dish was disgusting. Exactly the same dish, ordered from other people, that left a tip, was way better. The dish was pork curry cutlet. I could see, very clearly, my meat was super thin, almost non-existing. While the other people got a thick cutlet with lot of meat. Clearly, being so thin it was so dry and too much fried. The service was also clearly rude because they saw I didn't leave any tip so they didn't even call my number, the called the one before and after and then my tray was there. I had to go and tell him my number and then I got it. Compared with three other people and asked them if they left tip. They did. This place sucks
I've ordered from each place here, and this has to be the worst food option without a doubt.
Santouka for me was: late, didn't call my number, and got my order wrong.
It was also the most expensive meal I've had at the marketplace ($17.43) for the one large bowl. Ordered it spicy, which the order guy repeated back, but it was the normal, not spicy ramen. Pork was grey and chewy in a bland way, doubt I've ever made pork belly anywhere nearly that sad at home. It also took so long my group ordered at the same time and finished their meals before my ramen even came out.

Ramen was pretty good and flavorful. The service was also good. I would recommend paying more and getting the extra meat cuz they only put 2 pieces in the regular one. The waitress kept checking up on us and made sure we enjoyed our food. They play nice music too so there’s good vibes. Will return next time!

Good ramen, edamame, and cheese sticks! I loved the salty, garlicky flavor of the edamame. We got a tuna sushi roll and it was average. This location does not have the special Tatsunoya roll. Plenty of parking and great service.
Good spot in the food court for ramen, cold soba Noodle tempura.
Easy quick fix with good ingredients and fresh prepared food.

Perfect location in Silverlake for a ramen spot. They have easy parking in the back and there was no issue getting a table. We both got ramen bowls and a starter of gyoza which was all delicious. Sitting in the front patio around sunset with good food was the perfect end to my day. I'm giving four stars because our service was a little non existent. Our waiter never came back after dropping off the food to give us drink refills. After our food the last interaction with him was when we received the check. Other than that, the spot is awesome and i'll be back for more ramen.

I called in advance around 9:20 to see if we were allowed to dine since they closed at 10 PM. They hesitated a bit, but we said we were 1 min from another ramen place at the corner. Arrived at a park in the front; they also have spacious parking in the back.
Staff are friendly, and the restaurant looks decent and has in & outdoor seating!
I ordered Spicy Miso Extra Chasu, $20.3 comes with thick noodles and added a $2 egg, and my Japanese friend ordered a Koku Extra Chasu, $19.8, with thin noodles and added a $2 egg. The flavored eggs were ok.

The price is higher than elsewhere in the Silverlake area, around $2-3 but offers more meats; however, the broth did not impress us when we tasted it. Also, a lot of thick fat was swimming around in the broth, and the meat was initially fat without being grilled/fried/ marinated, which made the whole feeling become fatty and feel like the fat touched my tongue every time I consumed the broth.

We enjoyed the service, the views, and the weather, but to have the itch of waiting to return to dine from Beverly Hills might be a low chance.

Friendly staff and wonderful ramen. I love spicy ramen, and their "very spicy" was right at the sweet spot of spice where you get to enjoy the flavor and spice equally. Not novelty spicy, just delicious. Can't wait to come back.

It's only half the amount of food samples.
A nice place to get some ramen in little Tokyo, famous for its spicy noodles.

The ordering system is kinda cool, since it allows you to choose the hardness of the noodles, spiciness of the soup and extra ingredients. The service is very efficient.

The ramen was tasty (we chose a manageable level 2 of spiciness) but the noodles had a kind of instant ramen quality and therefore took zero soup in. The gyozas were just ok.

The atmosphere was ok, but you kinda got the feeling they were trying to get you out as soon as possible to put others customers in (like rushed to finish your drink). Overall is a recommendable place, not expensive at all.

When I travel, I suddenly get a craving for ramen.

The ramen here is one of the most extensive menus among the ramen restaurants I have visited in the past, and it resembles the taste of Japan, which is one of the top class in Los Angeles.

I wanted to order something else from the menu, but I was too full after one bowl of ramen to order anything else.

Always great food , service, and has a vegan option ,love the atmosphere and its my girls favorite ramen and we have ramen hopped before
Always Best Ramen series in LA area. Black Tonkotsu Ramen is great! With everything topping of seasame, Chashu pork, soft egg, bamboo and cabbage. Full feel of tasting, warm and really joyful in the cold days. The karage is crispy and juicy. It's cheaper for the weekday combo. Enjoy it!
Possibly the best ramen in the area. Get the salt ramen. The soup has a deep richness with some hint of fermentation, possibly miso or mirin. The pork belly is tender and fresh. The toppings varied and were complimentary. Pricing is a great deal. Overall, such a hidden gem for the area
Absolutely delicious. They have a location in Pasadena which I go to a lot. I'm glad they opened this location closer to ktown. I prefer my ramen with thin noodles. The broth is very rich and savory here. And is very consistent each time I come. Honestly think that tatsunoya has the BEST ramen in LA. Service is excellent. Plenty of parking in the back.

Best ramen I've had since Pittsburgh in 2016 at the G&G noodle bar 💖👏 the chicken and egg bowl was amazing, too. I want to come back again for another bowl soon, for sure. And I love the decor. It's beautiful inside! Definitely a place to treat yourselves. Thanks for your hard work, guys!

Pretty delicious food. I tried the Fried chicken cutlet curry accompanied by sliced hard boiled egg, miso soup and rice. The curry gravy had a robust, dark slightly spicy smoky flavor. Nothing fancy here, just super good, cozy food that hits the spot on a winter night. Don’t forget to bring your vaccination card and photo ID if you were going to dine in at the food court

Great addition to Mitsuwa Marketplace. Menu is still limited at this time since they recently opened. Got the katsu curry to go (pictured, curry on the side so not in picture). Good flavor, very moist meat with good crunch. The rice underneath is flavored with furikake.

Me and my dad enjoy eating Ramenya’s Basic Ramen and Fried Rice. Yesterday we still have the Basic Ramen and this time we have Gyoza for a side dish. I heard that they used to live in Olympic Street before coming to Gateway Blvd. You can either eat inside or outside. Whatever feels comfortable for you when coming to Ramenya. So if you see a Heart Shaped on the Menu that means it is there most popular dish. They also have a Vegetarian Ramen meals on the Menu. So I would definitely come back to enjoy a nice hot Ramen.

I really like this place for a casual meal. My roomie and I got the shiranami sochu on ice to drink which was tasty and very strong. We ordered the tofu agedashi app which was fried and flavored perfectly. For ramens we got the Asianya-tartan hot and the kao san. Large portions (had leftovers) and both liked the broths a lot. Will be returning!

Food was delicious and flavorful‼️ Employees are Humble and there when you need something. The inside decor is nice, much different inside vs. look on the outside. You can eat in (with doors wide open, nice breeze that comes through or of course, you can order "ToGo".
Def worth eating here... I'll go back again.
I ordered #39 large Spicy Miso Ramen. The meat was perfect, very tender and flavorful. The soup and noodles were fine. The portion was modest.
This is part of the food court. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the inside seating was limited, so go early if you want dine-in.
Got the Spicy Miso Ramen and a Tokusen Toroniku Ramen. Both were super tasty! Just FYI, this place is inside of a grocery store, and it can sometimes be tough to get a seat if it's crowded. Also, bring a water, because the (styrofoam) water cups are about the size of a shot glass. But the food is great! 👌

Good ramen and good service. Wait was wittle longer than to be expected, but the server apologized when they brought me my food and it wasn't a big deal to begin with. Regardless, that wait is obviously not usual and they recognized it, which is an attribute of good service in my opinion. Had the regular tonkotsu and it was well made and enjoyable no doubt. Enjoyable atmosphere with seating for parties of two up to around 6. Plenty of parking out back, but they direct you to go in through the front.

Cash only! I would venture a guess that all Santouka location are cash only restaurants. I have been to the one in Chicago suburbs, and this one was much, much better, who knows why. Be mindful that this is located in a food court, simple, quick, no frills. All in all, their ramen is solid, good noodle consistency, flavorful broth, but nothing extremely spectacular. Just a solid go-to Ramen spot here in Los Angeles.
I don't understand the high reviews. Ramen is meh. Soup is rich, but the noodles are bitter, the chashu is mostly fat and they only give one. Bamboo tastes like ammonia. Also cash only
Very good service. Friendly staff. The atmosphere and dining area lacked that cozy, inviting feeling. It was more of a "deli" atmosphere. The music was on the loud side. However the place seemed clean, the staff was attentive and the food was awesome. There were a lot of people in and out doing 'pick up' orders and I got the impression carry out is the majority of their buisness. But again, the food was great and I would not hesitate to eat there again.
