This bridge is worth the walk on your trip if you want to see everything. I highly recommend going at sunset

This is the first time I can give this bridge a good rating in the winter - the stairs are kept open and clean during winter months for the first time since I can remember!

Billings Bridge Is A Bridge In Ottawa That Crosses The Rideau River. Billings Bridge Shopping Centre Isn't Far From It. You Can Get Some Beautiful Pics Of The Rideau River On It. There Used To Be A Plaque On It Regarding The Battle Of Billings Bridge In 2022 But Someone Must Have Ripped It Off. It Hasn't Been Replaced Either
A nice place to cross over the canal or just relax and take a selfie. The city allows lovers locks on the bridge but they do cut them off from time to time because it gets too heavy.

Such a nice view off the Rideau Canal. Appreciate Ottawa more as an adult than I did growing up.
The past year of construction (lanes closed causing insane rush hour traffic, bridge being totally closed random nights entirely, etc) should have been outsourced to Chinese workers. It would have been finished in a month tops as opposed to what these useless union protected “workers” just spent the last 13 months doing.
This bridge is the bane of my existence. It’s constantly under construction or it’s closed. The bike lanes are the size of the road for cars. It’s just not a good set up. I hope they get it sorted soon. It’s quite the detour to take portage bridge.
Good place for bike ride all along the River and nature
Loved it, but parking is hard to find and directions can be confusing.

Really nice bridge to hang out on. The walking path around it is really nice too.
The traffic is ridiculous with the construction. My commute between home and work webt from about 20 minutes to 1h30.

Excellent bridge. I was successfully able to cross Ottawa River on it. It has a nice view of both banks.
I run across this bridge regularly as part of my jogging route. It has a beatiful view of the river and is the highlight of my run. The bridge is also located near the historical site of where the Battle of Billings Bridge took place. There was at one time a plaque at the eastern end of the bridge to memorialize the struggles of the heroic people who fought but unfortunately it has been removed by a vandal and not yet replaced.

However this bridge is a worst connecting point due to heavy congestion.
Only in Gatineau one when driving from west or north west part of gatineau, have to drive east to get to Champlain bridge and then back on parkway to get to ottawa west. What a waste of time and gas.
It is about time that Gatineau and NCC consider a 6th bridge - opening toward Moodie drive. When this is done- it will substantially reduce congestion on Champlain bridge.
Residents of all of Aylmer, Chelsea, Plateau etc….. they all currently have to drive all the way to east till Champlain bridge and then sit on the bridge congestion and then drive again backward on parkway and then finally get to Ottawa west.
If the 6th bridge can be opened then it will also bring a lot of traffic from Ottawa west to gatineau, this leading to an expansion of nature and business ( $$$$ spending) activities in Gatineau.
If someone start the petition- i will support and am sure many residents will.
Population of gatineau keeps growing with many purchasing or renting realty, however no changes have been made to existing infrastructure. I wonder for how many more years we handle clogs………

Not much to say other than its a bridge that gets me from point a to point b safely each and every time! The bridge equally offers some nice views of the rideau river in the summer and fall.
The Plaza Bridge in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is an automotive and pedestrian bridge that crosses the Rideau Canal just south of the Ottawa locks. It joins Wellington Street and Elgin Street in the Downtown core to the west with Rideau Street to the east.
A great beautiful space to walk. Night view is just serene.
Busy but convenient crossing into Gatineau . Easy access and safe fir cycling as well

I end up running on this bridge a lot from Quebec to Ontario and back. I absolutely can’t complain the views are very nice and it seems very safe.

Great view of Ottawa and Gatineau on the bridge. My favorite route: Parliament Hill -> Supreme Court -> Portage bridge -> History Museum -> NAC. Lots of things to watch along the route.
In winter you can see people Skating on the frozen river from the bridge.
It is a very wide and beautiful bridge that borders the two provinces of Ontario, Quebec and has a wonderful view of the historic buildings of Ottawa.
Yup, truly a useful bridge over the canal in downtown Ottawa. It serves a a main commute route for students, for people who work downtown and for folks just going out for a walk ,run or bike along the paths. The sight of the canal as well as the parliament in the distance are nice also.

It's a beautiful bridge but why is that beautiful sign so hidden? Shouldn't it be facing the canal itself??

Mall is alright but the Gaurda security guards are arrogant and impolite. They police the mall and make me feel extremely uncomfortable rather than safe. Several people I know have had issues with them including myself.
Ottawa Walks - Park near the Champlain Bridge on the Ontario side. Walk toward Quebec and enjoy the lovely views. The vehicle traffic can drown out the peaceful sounds of the water however you will get your steps in😉
An diesem Ort kann man einiges sehen. Gleich nebenan befindet sich das Fairmont Hotel und wenn man ein paar Meter in die andere Richtung läuft befinden sich dort die Fahnen aller Bundesstaaten von Kanada.

Really enjoyed visiting here. Visited twice because this was so aesthetically pleasing.
I enjoy driving across this bridge because of the scenery and the easy access to Bate Island. Unfortunately the rush hour traffic is horrendous.

A place of power and history at which most people don't stop. Park at the War Museum and take a walk to the jaw-dropping public viewing site

Nice bridge. Bike lane and pedestrian walk way. A nice view of the back of Parliament Hill.
Old bridge over fast flowing water. A great thrill for those brave enough to walk across.
As a scenic viewpoint, this bridge can be amazing - especially during spring floods.
Simply drive through and glimpse the river, or park in Gatineau or the Ottawa side on the street, and walk a few minutes to the bridge. Also view the Parliament buildings from here, or walk to the viewing platform 100m to the west. Pedestrian access is close to heavy traffic so be careful.

Je recommande le tour de bateau du Canal Rideau. Le quai d’embarquement est à Plaza Bridge.
Very busy bridge, with separate bike lanes. View is quite good from here.
