Beware of their refunding policy. They won't accept returns hence it's better to purchase an item elsewhere for a much cheaper price.

I like this little store. They have mostly everything. Fresh items are available for cheaper prices than local mom n pap shops. All though my goal is to support local shops. But this shops became so obnoxious with prices that bothers me to go in and purchase big shopping. Small shops don't have many employees like Foodtown or MetFood, yet they charge you a fortune.
Such a wonderful staff of employers, day or night always willing to assist with a smile 😊
Floor staff were nice. Hunted pizza dough and two nice guys helped. Appreciated the help at checkout too from a kind cashier. More patient than I'm used to, so it is appreciated.
Great customer service and someone is always available when help is needed. Store is always clean.

Don’t pay with card here, many people are being robbed. I told them my money was stolen when I payed with my card as others and they told me they won’t do anything it’s not their problem
The bag man is very abusive and bossy. He is a bully and should never be allowed to work around customers. He harasses me every time I bring my red pouch with my phone and money! I feel threatened by him and don't wanna shop there no more unless appropriate action is taken to guarantee my safety and address the overall abuse!

I’ve been living in Bayside my whole life. I worked at this location when it was C-Town and I was in High school. It’s always been your little local, a bit over priced, food market. Nothing fancy, but the foods were fresh and taken care of. FoodTown has been in its location in Bayside for a very long time now. They have a great location for walkers and for people driving. They are near a very busy bus route too. It’s a gold mine. And one thing they did was got us through a pandemic and for that the whole neighborhood is thankful, they kept the shelves stocked, how they did that was unbelievable. With that said … why are foods out of date and produce is rotten a lot of the time, if not rotten, old and dried out and favor-less? They’ve had people who have been shopping there for YEARS why serve them with this? Shouldn’t they want to give us better then this? We keep them in business. I spent a lot of money here because they are local, but almost every time I come home, something is bad. I’ve learned to check expiration dates. The owners seem like nice people, so I can’t understand this. Workers are always friendly and see the locals probably 3, if not more times a week. I know I’m in there no less then 2 times a week. Do better FoodTown in Bayside. I bit into rotten corn on the cob the other night at dinner, so did my daughter - it was gross, enough is enough!!!
This Supermarket is DISGUSTING . They RePackage And ReLabel Old Meat Thats Already On Display . To Make it Sell - Today i Opened Up A Pack Of Chicken i Purchased . It Says Sell By 8/4 . TODAY ISSSSS 8/1 An The Chicken iss SPOILED . DONTTT BUY YOUR MEATS FROM THIS SUPERMARKET !!!!

Cashiers ..Priscilla, Rana and another young black female Duarte? Very rude like they are doing us a favor . I detected an attitude each time .

Maria is a sweetheart. Meanwhile prices are ridiculously high. Stop and Shop is my main grocery store. Huge selection and prices are reasonable but Foodtown is in my hood so it's convenient. Will write a letter to head manager to train her staff. We have been coming to Foodtown since it opened like over 25 years
From the owner to the manager to the staff, I love Ferreira Foodtown. Very nice people, good prices and great selections!
It's ok little expensive but very convenient for me. It's clean and nice people working there.

After buying many treats for my cat every day new security asked me for my receipt and for what I purchased after I showed him the treat and receipt he demanded to search my bag. THIS SECURITY PERSON IS OVERSTAPPING HIS BOUNDRIES AND MAKING SHOPPING UNPLEASANT AND TREATING EVERY PAYING CUSTOMER LIKE A CRIMINAL. I AM DISGUSTED WITH GETTO TREATMENT BY THIS NEW TALL RUTHLESS INVADING PERSONAL SPACE SECURITY PERSON. I SWEAR TO GOD I felt violated and mistreated in a very wrong way. The manager tall Hispanic accused me in stealing stuff I pay for every day. I call on authorities to investigate this store for racial profiling of customers, false accusations and personal space invading security. And deep racist tall Hispanic manager and tall Balck security. I spend money in that store every day and treated like a criminal. They practice racism in this store and tall balck security searched my bag after buying stuff at the register. Getto
This supermarket was immaculate the staff knew where everything was and were very pleasant absolutely a fantastic experience
The food I bought was great. This Foodtown deserves five stars.
I like buying groceries here: affordable and accessible esp in the area where I live. The food and produce are kinda fresh but you get what you pay for. They also accept WIC which is nice.
Decent supermarket if you need to grab a few things. Staff is ALWAYS nice and courteous.
A little of everything but the prices are crazy high. The majority of the specials are with a minimum amount spent. I do buy my fresh fruits and vegetables here.
Great neighborhood grocery store with a lot of good deals. They carry plenty of hard to find products! Their bakery department is awesome& they make the best fresh croissants! Great place to collect green points and use them for deals, gift cards or gas cards. They also offer local delivery! Staff is cool and friendly! A lot of people like Ana and Stacey have been there for years, to the point that shopping there feels like shopping with family!
Be Careful when you shop at this store, the staff might think you are stealing from them.
Better yet, don't give them your money, GO somewhere else, ANYWHERE ELSE! ideal on Hillside has much better product variety and cheaper prices and better customer service.
A bit disappointed at this location. I used to live by the Foodtown on Parsons Blvd and it was a great little shop. The Rego Park Foodtown is dark and dingy. When it rains it leaks - they has buckets collecting the water a couple of days ago and the drop ceiling has a million leak stains. They have no self checkout and will not give cash back. Their international section is sad - barely anything there. They also do not honor the Foodtown points that I used every day at the Parsons location so no free turkey for me at Thanksgiving (lol). Customer service is spotty, some cashiers have attitude and in general this place needs A LOT of improvement and modernization. Glad Aldi is down the street, as well as CTown and Key Food on the other side of Qns Blvd because this Foodtown does not convey freshness, variety or cleanliness.
I have learned the hard way over the years to avoid produce at foodtown. (Bugs crawling out of things and almost always moldy). Their food storage is atrocious. We usually only buy dry goods or frozen. Things that are clearly sealed and dated. This year alone (its February) i have purchased a moldy kombucha (expiry date not for another year) and dishwasher detergent that had completely browned.

I dont know HOW they are shortening the shelf life on their items by so much but its honestly impressive they’re still in business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I am the Founder for a non-profit tax exempt charitable organization and went to shop today for 2 barrels for shipping. I presented the organization tax exempt document and the Manager, Cindy refused to honor the document and told me that I have to pay the tax. She told me that I have to get a more recent document that is dated 2023. Meanwhile, this is a valid and legal document with the State of New York and there is no renewal. I have been shopping at Shop Fair Supermarket for barrels throughout the years and most recently purchased 4 in October/November 2022 without tax. Cindy was very rude, disrespectful, arrogant and difficult to talk to. She did not want to listen and refused to let me speak to upper management. She told me that her "Boss" is in Dominion Republic and that she is in charge. Management need to ensure that their employees have proper training on customer service and to be acquainted with these types of forms (ST-119). I shopped at other stores such as Coscto, Home Depot, BJ's , Jetro and Key Food etc without any problem and any humiliation. As a Clergy, I always gave respect, and would also like to be treated with respect. I left the store without purchasing the barrels.
I normally don’t shop at the supermarket I prefer ideal food basket, however this store is close to my sons school and I come after school if I’m missing something at home, today I went in for avocados and frozen mixed vegetable. I picked up goya frozen mixed vegetables 16 oz price tag said $2.69 it was under all the varieties of goya vegetable when I got Pay it rings up $2.99 I informed the chashier she went to check and told the manager he said that’s what it rings up give it to her and he left. She explained to me the price is $2.99 just sometimes it takes a while to change the tags and he can’t give it to me I said legally you have to give me the price it says because I am not wrong, I said there is a thing called consumers act and legally that price had to be given to me. She starts laughing and the only reason I payed and left was because my son was complaining about a tummy ache, unfortunately I left the house in a rush and didn’t take my phone to snap a picture of the price tags, but I would not sit here wasting my time on a review that isn’t true.
If you remember Olinskys from over 40 years ago, Foodtown is exquisite. Contrary to a few other reviewers, within the past few months, particularly found the staff to be helpful, even deferential on occasion. Cashiers are all right, so usually is freshness. The stock usually is more than adequate. For instance, many frozen items unavailable elsewhere, like Eggplant Parm, or other sorts of Italian specialties, are here. No complaints !

Two days ago on 9/19, I purchased milk from this store. Expiration date was 9/28/2022..
Today it is sour. I tried to return this item but the store manager refused, asking for a store receipt. This is understandable, but , as I regular neighborhood customer, I do not keep grocery store receipts. He continued to refuse a refund or exchange. Store managers such as this one, need to consider neighborhood customers, the store’s community !
I will never shop here again. No one should buy rotten products and be expected to suffer for it, all because there is no receipt!
I just got off the phone w/the supermarket. I went there Thursday morning 8/25/2022 & bought some ingredients to make soup...that afternoon I tested for covid since I wasn't feeling so hot & got a postive result early Friday as I was preparing to go to work. I have been home since quarantined for 5 days since I'm vaccinated. Sunday the 28th I now have enough strength & energy to make myself some soup only to see that the yellow yam is spoilt & yellow yam is expensive. I called to let them know & was told that there is nothing that they can do for me as fruits & vegetables should be within a day or two...Serves me right because although I live on 90th & the supermarket is directly behind my building on 89th I hardly go there unless I'm in a rush, want just a few items or not up to going to Keyfood a few more blocks down. While Shop Fair is more conveniently located, clean & organized Keyfood has so many more options & seems less expensive. I usu ask for the yam to be pared/cut so I can tell if tis good but from past experience with these people that is like trying to get a water upstream so I didn't bother trying. By comparison there is no problem w/Keyfood's employees paring yam tis just hard to find one @ times. Why do supermarkets continue to place spoilt, stale & detective items on their shelves & the consumer has no recourse?! Hope that I have learnt my lesson...sigh...of late I just can't seem to catch a break; so tired of it all...

Poor selection of items. Majority of the time the produce is bad or going bad. They're dairy/cheese section is disgusting because of poor storage. Cheese expired on April or may 2022 but it already had mold growing inside of it. Some products are way over priced. Bought ha half gallon horizon milk and I was charged 8.46. It's like $6-$7 elsewhere. Bacon is $13-$16 but you can find the same products in other markets $5 cheaper. Yes there's in inflation but come on.
Update May 2023: They have gotten a lot more expensive and there is a mandatory bag check now even though you're supposed to bring an empty bag. I have come back a few times to see if they at least brought down prices a bit as many other stores already have and instead they just continue to increase here. I only go here anymore if left with no other options and buy the bare minimum I need. There are still sometimes a few deals but honestly you're probably better off going to other supermarkets.
Very bad customer service! I just moved here from CA. After a long day at the clinic, I stopped by this supermarket on my way home and wish If i did not! I asked one of the employees (I think she is an inventory associate) about an item! She said I don’t know with a very bad attitude! So I told her “but u work here, right? She said yes and kept walking away! I showed her the item then that was right next to her n told her “here it’s, so now u know how to do your job if someone else asked u! I returned all the items i was planning to buy and left right away n decided to go somewhere else and never to do shopping here again! Very rude employee!
Be careful. Went to purchase some frozen food and was surprised to find the the package was soft. Looked at the thermometer in the freezer and it was over 40 degrees! Also bought a few pounds of meat that was over a month past the expiration date. This place is a public health hazard.

Found a bug in the watermelon last summer. Let it slide thinking okay sometimes these things happen. Just went to store yesterday and bought a red pepper. When I cut it open it was covered with mold and bugs inside.
I also bought sealed baby starter food (peas). I bought two packs. The first pack clearly showed a 2020 expiration date in black ink. The second pack had a different seal and in clear print has the expiration date 06 Jan 2019. Over a year old! Absolutely unacceptable. Had I not checked my baby would be eating overly expired food.
That’s the last straw from me. Will never have my business again. Health department has been called.

They don’t have Pringles but they have lots of other chips

The only reason I shop here is because there is no other supermarkets in the walking distance, if I had an option I would never came back. The staff here is OK - not super friendly, but haven't seen them being rude either, like other reviews said. The problem is the food they sell - besides pretty poor selection and lacking of the healthy options, half of the food they sell is expired or spoiled. Every time I shop here I find at least 5-7 products (mostly milk products) with past expiration date, sometimes over 10 days past. Once I bought a frozen pizza that was expired 7 months ago, which I only found out at home, and was lazy to go back. The meat most of the times looks and smells nasty once you take it out of plastic and turn over. I'm pretty sure they don't care much about storing the food properly - sometimes even the food that is not expired smells and tastes funny. One time they had the whole shelf of coffee creamers placed on the regular shelves outside of the fridge "by mistake", I asked to bring me a cold bottle from the fridge in the back, and was told that they don't have my creamer left in the back (pretty sure because it was not in the fridge in the back either). Now I spend extra time in the store because i literally check the expiration date on absolutely every item I buy. At first I was trying to be nice and just was letting the staff know that they have something expired so they can go and replace it, thinking it was an accident. But it keeps happening systematically, when I point it out to the manager she apologizes, blames the workers on not doing their job, and the next time I come back to find nothing has changed. Luckily I'm moving out of the area soon, so will not have to deal with this any more, but just wanted to warn others.
Great customer service and someone is always available when help is needed. Store is always clean. Produce always in place and visible with price tags. Meat products are of quality and reasonable pricing. Ethnic spices are always available and sometimes hard to get in my neighborhood. Thankfully foodtown makes them available n fresh as will..
My main store to shop in!

Besides Orpheus the customer service was terrible. I purchased halal chicken from this establishment. Two days later I found out the meat was rancid!! I quickly called and spoke with Divian. I explained the situation and told her my work schedule would not allow me to return soon, but to take note of my call so I could exchange it for another item. I wasn’t going to take that chance again. Once I was off I was able to returned and first I dealt with Rafael, who pretended he was only the front end mgr. and said he could do nothing without Divian. I then take off time from work (as I live nowhere near this place) and came back to meet Divian, who then gives me some BS about Rafael being her mgr. then hits me with some BS about it being too long. if you can avoid it do so, once your money is in it’s gone. Her attitude was horrible and I assume she is probably uneducated as her, I don’t speak English mgr.
