THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!
10/10 Highly recommend you book an event here!!
You can tell how much work went into the space via the artists who put it together.
It's really magical.

Always have a good time at this theatre

Fantastic atmosphere! Great lay out! Bar area is INcredible with space behINd to sit and play games or be social IN whatever way you're INspired. Very unique and artistic space! Great for holdIN an event or just meetIN up for drINks and fun! Shea, Dan and the whole team are awesome! Highly recommended! If you're IN Chicago make time to experience Stage 773!!

Amazing exhibit, saw Whim for the first time and was immediately transported by the immersive experience created by these incredible multi media artists. What's really cool is you can also just go hang out in the bar in the lobby. The lobby is like it's own Alice in Wonderland exhibit with beautiful art everywhere you look. Also the drinks are 😘Bravo!

While the castinf and acting was good, the play Proof was a little too simplistic. Not a lot of depth to the characters.
Also, the box office couldn't locate our tickets although I bought them the week before at the theater. That was because they put the tickets in my husband's name instead of mine as I used his credit card. The box office staff didn't bother tellus that and then blamed us for the mix-up. Very unprofessional.

Very rude usher who did not let me back in after I went to the restroom. Also not enough staff and I had to wait for 20 mins for someone to let me into the building.

City Lit choice of plays is always interesting and relevant. Plays are well produced and cast. Good mix of old and new plays.
Easy parking which is a plus.

A perfectly fine small venue. We saw the play Flood. It was a very nice production. An intimate setting. Great date place.

I love the atmosphere here. Tons of room, great place to see music. The night I was there it was practically deserted. Their social media hasn't been updated in ages so maybe nobody knows about this very cool place? Seems like some wasted potential.

Came to this place via Instagram. Took my husband and his two best friends who are visiting from Texas, and we loved this place. I will definitely be coming back to support the artists, venue, and staff. The staff was so friendly and the art was cool throughout the entire experience. We tried the immersive experience, and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to see something fun and different. Posting one picture outside of the immersive experience to not to take away from the artists

Such a delightful place. The staff is so friendly. A Who Holiday with Veronica Garza was absolutely brilliant. Great drinks and pastries. Beautiful set and nice theater. Seats were very comfortable.

Who’s Holiday is a perfect one woman show. Unexpectedly musical and comedic with heartbreaking moments. I want to watch it over and over again. Cindy Lou Who has grown on me.

Beautiful performance venue in the community and the offer tons of free programing. I attended a great directing workshop. They also have yoga and stuff for the kids. A true blessing to the community.

We went here for their Halloween Haunted Art event. It was fun. Great drinks..both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Good music and board games. Just a fun evening.

The jazz concert was awesome! I'll definitely be back to see more of what's going on in my neighborhood.

Just saw Household Spirits at Theater Wit. Phenomenal! Great performances, story and direction--in a comfortable, well run theater. And location is convenient to Northside neighborhoods and public transit--and the shows are a reasonable price for top quality work. You've got to check them out!

Had the pleasure of attending the inaugural celebration with The King College Preparatory High School Band last Saturday, October 7, 2023. It is a beautiful space! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Excelente gala el 19 septiembre 2023. Reconocimiento 30 años de vida artística de Rosario Vargas Lombana.

Super fun little local theater company in an unusual setting (historic church). Excellent actors and warm and friendly vibe all-around.

One of my favorite store front theaters in Chicago. Shattered Globe and Remy Bumppo work out of this space - that's top tier, award winning theater. They also have a great bar inside that serves real cocktails. Shows are usually around $35. Highly recommend.

A nice, intimate setting to get up close and personal with your favorite play. The seating was very comfortable, so I never got stiff or achy. And at least the night I was there, I got my money's worth with the cocktail I bought. It was mixed so strong, I could only drink a third of it, and shared it with a friend so I was still able to drive home. :-)

A very fun date night idea! The staff was super nice, there was a great performer, and the art installation was cool!

Immersive Cocktail Experience Event Space/ Full Bar is like no other venue/ event space in the City of Chicago !!
It's an artistic/creative person sanctuary, where they could get lost in all the artistic aspects and designs and pieces/ exhibits as I would describe it.
The cocktails mirror the eclectic spaces in this building. With only 15% completed as of now, this is a non-profit theatrical/bar/event space so the more you come by and support us, the more it will become complete.
Now there is a full bar, the centerpiece of the space, and the whimsical magical forest is where all the bands/comedy/open mic occurs within every 30 mins it goes from day light to 🌙. Even has the witches 🧙♀️ corner with all here swells, potions
The other 85% of the space; has 20 + different rooms u will be able to walk through each one having a different theme; from Whoville, upside-down house, morgue, and the bubble room to only name a few will be complete by the 2023 new yr.
There will be an entry fee to walk through the Immersive 🍸 Experience, no time restrictions, so explore each room at your leisure.
There will be tour guides answering all inquiries, from all the wondering minds.
The exhibit was created by all local artists 🎨 !!
The cocktail menu will collaborate with the themed rooms to a certain degree! So hope to see you'll there before the completion and afterwards !!
Hope to 👀 you soon, my beautiful humans!!

Interesting venue inside an old church. Everything was very low-budget and low-key. The play is performed in a small room, making for a very intimate and engaging experience. Check out “The Mark of Kane”, the dramatic true story of the creation of Batman, from Oct 21 to Dec 4, 2022!

Show was wonderful. They are still bringing in great talent...Thanks So Much!

I attended a callback for an upcoming production, and the staff were nothing but exemplary. Organized, polite, and accommodating to every arrival. Each of us received a $10 stipend for our time, which was certainly not expected, but heartening to see them value our time like that. A theater company to model!

The university uses this space well and most all events are free. Limited capacity so arrive early for events. The arts lawn is open now which is a nice picnic area with green grass

We saw Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins via Zoom and it was wonderful! The actors did an amazing job, and we loved how they made it interactive for the kids. Cannot wait to be able to see a show in their theatre!!

Collaboraction Theater Company is an innovative Chicago theater group working exclusively to fight systemic racism and promote social change. I attended their MLK slam and related plays at Kennedy King College and really enjoyed it: Their performances were surprisingly nuanced and thoughtful yet powerful, not just black and white. They deserve to be better known. Addressing these issues through art, and providing young actors, playwrights and artists a crucial outlet (their MLK slam involved about 70 people), is also extremely beneficial to them and the Chicago theater community. I'm excited to see how their work evolves.

Fantastic play. It brings together current issues of family, race and water rights, and how war changes people. Amazing acting,. lighting, believable stage fighting

Collaboraction was the perfect venue for my recent daughter’s wedding. In addition, Manny’s hard work and attention to detail topped off the event. It was a magical and beautiful evening. Thank you!

A very intimate theater setting inside of the Edgewater Presbyterian Church building. Being small and intimate means there are not a lot of frills here but it also means there isn't a bad seat in the house. The City Lit Theatre Company, based on information they shared verbally and in their program, has a four production season. We saw The Hound of the Baskervilles and found the actors to be quite good. The performance was well done and enjoyable. Parking is sparse in the area. I understand valet parking is available at a restaurant across the street but we found free street parking a couple of blocks away and were able to see just a bit of the neighborhood on our short walk.

Just saw The Effect tonight. It was excellent. The actors were compelling and likable from the first minute they stepped on the stage. While the show often seemed to be a lighthearted story about a young couple falling in love, the story really provided a powerful vehicle into the complex nature of mental health. you know it's a great show when you laugh, connect with the characters and walk away thinking about the impact and relevance the performance and story had on you.

I went there for Grown Folks stories and it was incredible. A very fun space to be out and about. The entire premise of the event was delightful, allowing a group of strangers to share their most mundane but also their most precious stories with one another

The staff is so...awesome. Every time i attend an event here, I always feel very welcome!!! The venue is beautiful and well maintenance. If I could give more stars I would..

Saw the Crosswinds Latin Jazz band there on a Monday night. Very nice setup. Will visit again in the future to see more of Chicago's finest talent.

Took my family of five with kids 9,8,and 4....loved the talented actors and the quaint 40 seat theatre. Amazing local gem....loved it...we will be back

Great troop! Went to murder mystery show where you follow the characters from room to room. Depending on which character you follow determines what part of the story of the mystery you get. Very intriguing and well done.

This building could use some better signage but the theatre I was in was lovely, cool and I was happy to be there once I found it.

The space was excellent for Starlight Radio Dreams' recent show. The seats are comfy and new, the stage space looked great and the show was so much fun to do there.
The A/C was not up to the challenge, sadly. The space was about 80 degrees during the show. It was an improvement from outside where it was in the high nineties all day but still uncomfortable.

Convenient to multiple kinds of public transit. It's confusing to get to the correct space unless you've been before - needs more and more effective signage!

Strong advocate for local theater!

The theatre itself is very nice. A small and intimate thrust stage with comfortable seating. The down side is that the walls are very thin and you can hear the streets outside and the bathrooms are sort of run down. Great show though, I enjoyed the performance greatly.

Been here a few times for some shows and its a great local Chicago theater, intimate and always has great actors!

It's a quaint little performance space but well positioned so that wherever you're sitting you have a great view of the stage and performers. The historic Edgwater Presbyterian Church that the theater is housed in is just a sight. It has all of it's original fixtures which kind of takes you back in time when you visit. I just love it.

A great organization!

My really good friend produced and starred in a play here. Small place, very intimate. Make sure to get there early, only street parking. Good sounds inside!

Awesome venue! Very cozy and fun atmosphere!

A little hard to navigate through once you walk inside but it is a place full of community and spirit . I had the pleasure of performing there and loved the intimate space around it as well as the supportive staff and volunteers.

Update Dec 2021: I'm glad the theatre was able to survive. I just watched Who's Holiday. A superb performance.
The theatre is comfortable, wonderfully set, and all seats have great views.
Are you visiting #chicago? Love #theater? A vega recommendation for a local Theatre bonanza. Witty. Hilarious. Dr. Suess grinch dark humor.

I saw a musical with a small orchestra here on a 2-weekend run, and this place is great. Student discounts for performances, easy e-ticketing and will call, comfy lounge, and not unreasonably priced concessions ($3 beer, $4 wine, $1 water bottles).
The space is intimate and efficient, ripe for creative use. And it's true that there is not a bad view in the house. Keep this in mind as you pick out your seat online, but note that the higher your seat number (in section 1, at least) the closer you are to the railing, and therefore the more people you have to squish past if you get there close to curtain.
Minus one star because the bleachers under the theater chairs became a 4-foot tomb for my cell phone (until my husband crawled under them to retrieve it--he said there's a treasure trove of purse-sized articles down there...).
