The nutcracker was a huge disappointment. Our whole family goes almost yearly. This seemed more like the children’s theater, the whole first act was kids under 10 performing. We couldn’t believe it. The entire choreography was rewritten to cut out scenes entirely.
To add to that there was a screaming 1yo baby that multiple people got in arguments about during the performance and the staff didn’t lift a finger.
Everything just seems cheap and rushed at this place now. It really was heartbreaking.

Could barely hear the orchestra. Low volume compromised the dance. In ballet the music and the dance are equally important. The performance seemed more like a silent film. Also, orchestra dynamics were lacking significant musical interpretation.

Just so disappointed. Even though we were gifted the tickets, we were tricked by the ballet into being the audience for a man dancing as the sugarplum fairy. Certainly nowhere near the grace and style of the women. He was clumsy, heavy and awkward. The cavalier could barely partner him. It's another example of men taking jobs, positions from women. They may have fooled most of the audience who were focused on the beautiful sets, amazing Orchestra, fantastic costumes and performance by the other dancers, but not all of us. It was brazen, uncomfortable, shocking and again disappointing.
I should've given zero stars but the others dancers don't deserve that.

What an incredible way to spend an evening mesmerized by artists who sacrifice so much to tell unforgettable stories through dance and movement. Support the classical arts and throw the tacky screens in the rubbish bin, your soul will thank you! 6 outta 5!

I will never spend my time or money here again. I have a kind and quiet special needs teenager, who asked to exit twice for a break, rather than disturb anyone during the performance. When we exited, we walked a good 100 feet from the entry/exit door to quietly chat for no more than 10 minutes. We exited twice, once before intermission, and once after. The usher walked over to us the second time we exited and interrupted to inform us that exiting the performance is disturbing to the other patrons and warned that if we did it again, we would not be permitted back in. I was completely appalled. And my heart shattered knowing how she made my son feel.
It took many many years to get my son to where he is today, which is to sit quietly in a theater for an hours-long performance that he loves. We are very proud of his progress. We have seen the nutcracker ballet in several major cities every year for most of his life. We have had to leave and go home as early as 10 minutes in, and have worked diligently year after year staying longer for each show, until finally being able to stay the whole show and just needing more breaks. However long the journey, today we are still needing to take just a couple more breaks than average people.
I understand that the exiting can disturb some patrons, and for that we are devastatingly apologetic. But clearly this is not a ballet company that practices inclusiveness, for at the very least, there would be some protocol and training on how to appropriately address patrons experiencing these circumstances. Unfortunately, the PNB company is not for my family, or for any quiet family needing to exit the theater off schedule.
The two stars are for the wonderful ballet dancers, musicians, and stage crew. Minus three stars for the usher’s rudeness, insensitivity, and the company’s policy (if that is what this case is). The snack/refreshment options and lack of seating during intermission left much to be desired as well.

Good experience- good food - show and plot were cheesy!!!

Attended a show tonight and it was so much fun! The atmosphere, direction, humor and staff was everything I could have hoped for. The food, while it wasn’t terrible, I did walk away wishing it was seasons better, less watery vegetables and warmer. I got the chicken entree. I would recommend this experience to others.

We went with four other friends to celebrate a birthday and it was a blast! Dinner was great, drinks were affordable, the acting was great and they keep the audience well involved. The prime suspect was a fun element that two of us at the table got. Very fun! Highly recommend!

Food and service was great, however portions are a tad on the smaller side. Drinks were pricy. Actors were great and it didn’t require too much socialization which is great for an extrovert. AC was a tad lacking

I am anticipating great fun. The doors open to an unsuspecting crown only to hear a loud voice announce our awaited entry. Simple salad but tasty hope the rest of my vegan options meal taste the same. More to come... So, the event was so much fun!! Oh and guess what it was the food was awesome. I will do this again!!!

What a fun night! This was well done and kept you guessing. Food was excellent. Would love to do this again!

This murder mystery was fun and lively. It moved quickly and kept us very interested. Definitely would recommend others to try it out!

I love coming to see Pacific Northwest Ballet! The company’s productions are top quality- the choreography, the dancing, the live music, the light design, the set design, the costuming… it’s an incredible privilege to have access to this level of art. Most of the country does not have ballet of this caliber and I’m blown away by the experience of witnessing humans coming together to create all of this live in front of me.

Salmon wasn't very good, but everything else was awesome! I loved how participatory the event was, the actors were great improv artists playing off the audience. I laughed a lot! And the mystery was really fun to solve. I highly recommend.

Since being introduced to Seattle Shakes over 20 years ago through their educational programs and student matinees, I have loved every single show they’ve produced. They are one of the cornerstones of Seattle theatre, and I always look forward to seeing what they will do with the shows they put on.

My husband and I attempted to see a play here and when we went entered the lobby there was a “masks required” sign. It is utterly ridiculous that anyone is still doing this in Nov 2023. This requirement was neither indicated when we purchased our tickets nor in the confirmation email we received regarding the performance. Apparently there are four “masks required” evenings for “The Merry Wives of Windsor.” The evening we selected was not listed on their website as one of them, making it an unannounced fifth “masks required” event. We left and did not see the play. I left a message for the company which was not returned. Do not recommend.

An opera that looks like an High school performance!
6 actors that were very good voices, however no set, other than 10 cheap chairs on the stage probably bought from a garage sales, and a cheap projector screen as a background didn’t bother to upgrade to LED screen, high school student would have done better. No chorus, No extra’s 6 actor’s only for the entire show.
I watch better Opera, from University students performance which I only paid 15$ for it. You scam me for full price 500$ USD for that show, sorry you will never see me again.

Das Rheingold was amazing. The venue is beautiful. I'm afraid of heights and we were in nosebleed seats and I totally forgot during the performance. Fabulous.

Wonderful Rheingold production. Innovative and thoughtful. Greer Grimsley sounds better than ever and looks as young and fantastic as 10 years ago.

Since June 4th, 1963; the Seattle Center was and still is a blessing to visit, inside the exquisite doors of the Opera House; and into the outside of the outstanding exceptional world🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

We visited in August 2023 to see Wagner's Rhinegold. It was a brilliant production with wonderful world class singing. My only complaint about this opera house is that after the performance there are no refreshments available where you could wait while the opera traffic clears, as it takes about 30 minutes to get out of the attached parking garage.

Amazing first time experience at McCaw hall ballet. Nutcracker was one of my favorite ballet! It brought me many childhood memories as my mom used to take me when I was a kid back in Europe. Classic Tchaikovsky music was always such a pleasure to listen. I love the costumes, the choreography the music, decorations everything was absolutely amazing.
Only one thing I didn't like but it's not ballet related its more to McCaw hall. Coming from Europe and going my whole life to ballet & theatre we have amazing breaks with champagne small bites and fancy crostinis. The beer in plastic cup and selection of some donuts was absolutely disappointing. I took 1 champagne that they forced me to pour in plastic cup and it was so disgusting! I regret I took that drink I couldn't even finish it. I wish choices were more extravagant just like in Europe.

I saw Macbeth with my high school daughter and her friend. It is a small venue. It was a very interesting performance. We plan to see more plays here in the future.

Nice building. Good infrastructure. Big range of seatings, all with fair view on stage. Acoustics are well.
Were there for Nutcracker performance between the years. COVID regulations carefully obeyed.
Admittedly somewhat surprised about high level of ticket prices

We went to see the Nutcracker. It was so much fun with the Christmas spirit all around the venue.

Had such a fun evening. We went and saw The Nutcracker, loved the show. Brought my husband, daughter age 6, niece age 4, mother and mother in law and everyone had lots of fun! The sets and costumes were gorgeous and the dancers danced beautifully. Surprisingly the 4 year old had the most fun and was able to follow and stay focused and she practiced her ballet with the ballerinas which was adorable. The food was a little pricey, we got sugar cookies shaped like the rat King that were $6. All the photo spots and decorations were nicely spaced and beautiful. I can't wait to come watch it again.

We had a fantastic time at the theater seeing The Nutcracker ballet. I sat with my granddaughter who explained it all to me as it went along...😊. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of ballet or plays or musicals, but at this venue with these seats and with my buddy by my side, I loved every moment of it! Not too long and not too brief, the show kept my attention with talented players and elaborate costumes and sets- and the music and sound system/acoustics were terrific!!! Can’t wait to go back!

My partner and I are season subscribers, and since we started being season subscribers I've actually got him turned on to this company. It's just a fun and fabulous experience every time. They acting troupe is inventive and creative and even though they have a very bare stage that they work with, the acting is so terrific one doesn't care. Do brush up on your Shakespeare and because this is a good way to do it.

They always do a phenomenal job with everything they perform. They also sponsor a lot of great programs for kids and families, such as Camp Bill (summer theater camp for kids) and Wooden O (Free plays in the park over the summer). I won't say I've enjoyed every play I've ever attended, because not everyone loves every play. And yet, even the one's I didn't particularly love had stellar performances.

This presentation of "She Stoops to Conquer" is amazing and hilarious. Seattle Shakespeare Theatre consistently does a great job. Some plays I just don't want to see, I mean, Macbeth is about a couple who kill their best friends and then slowly go insane with the guilt. Aarrgg! But that's Macbeth! The comedies are usually marvelous and the histories are informative. The non- Shakespeare plays are carefully chosen and executed, too. Ticket prices are very affordable, and the theater is small so you feel very much a part of the play.

Stellar acting. I've never seen a bad show there. When doing Shakespeare its tough enough to get the words right. These actors n actresses are way beyond that phase. They imbue their characters with depth and subtlety while speaking Elizabethan english. They also do a couple non Shakespeare plays a season. Several of these rank as the best theater I've seen.

I recently went to see "The Government Inspector". I have rarely seen such a production with such amazing comedic timing
Absolutely hilarious,! I fear that I brayed like a donkey from beginning to end.
There was literally not a dull moment. It was an amazing experience, and the pure genius of the actors was astonishing. Added unexpected bonus: a couple of dance scenes. Bravo to the choreographer
All in all, a show not to be missed
