Stopped in to pick up a few items for a recipe we were trying that evening. Found exactly what we were looking for. The store is clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful when you can't find something, they seem to know exactly where it is. The checkouts were well staffed, so no problem there either. The prices are definitely more affordable.
Great place to shop for all types of grocery, especially when on sale. Sale prices are usually better than NoFrills. My only dislike is the checkout process, not enough cashiers available. I don't like self check-out although the staff is helpfull but I prefer not to look for staff to help in the first place.
I have been going to this store loyally for 7 years and have had no issues whatsoever! quite the opposite. Lovely community, management always respectful, workers are friendly and always helpful. This is my go to choice for any groceries etc., even if it is not the closest option. Thanks to all the hard work, always stocked on everything I can ever wish for, so convenient! I have chatted with some of the staff on occasion and can appreciate all of the effort they have put in to make this store a safe place for everyone. Thank you to Jen and the staff for the great work and for brightening my day so often :) 😄😁!
I have been shopping at this store for years. Not once have I ever seen their store manager Jen be nice or treat any customers or staff with even an ounce of respect. she is rude, ignorant, and just plain awful. if I walk into the store and see her working, I will leave and come back on a different day. Reading these reviews I’ve seen quite a few about her. I think Food Basics needs to replace her ASAP.

So I was at the first check out and everything was going fine. Then some miserable bigger woman with tattoo eyebrows decided to interrupt because she accused me of taking too many meat pieces.... like what? There was no signage or anything, then to waste more time the fat lady working the self check out made my cashier call in to make sure I wasn't buying any more than I should 😂 honestly. I know the customer service is unfortunately hit or miss here but to go out of your way to look for something?? Good thing you guys are union workers - you'd have no job without it. After all that there was no limit on the product I was buying 😆 god it must suck to be so miserable that all you have in life is to try and bring your misery onto others rather than let them shop in peace... to your point Nadia (another review) Jen is horrible. Everything you said about her in your review is accurate
Food basics got it right this time. First time we had a cashier threat was friend and helpful. She was younger with dark hair. We wish we would have got her name. Usually everyone at this locations is miserable
