Top Bed & breakfasts in Collingwood, Canada

We arrived late on Friday night and the entry was easy with the door keypad. The reservations lady was so accommodating regarding a couple of issues we had. Carrie Ann and Michael were excellent hosts in the mornings and they each prepared tasty and filling breakfasts for us. They also went out of their way for us regarding checking out. We had the most comfortable bed to sleep in! Thank you everyone at the Findlay House for making our stay so relaxing. Sandra

In reading other reviews, I think maybe Findlay house 'used to' be better than it currently is. Previous positive reviews raved about the wonderful hosts and gourmet breakfast... which was why we chose Findlay house. However the hosts were not on site at all when we were there (as a few recent reviews have noted). The breakfast was average and served by a really sweet young girl but it was not the 'experience' we have come to associate with good B&B's. The rooms were very small, close to each other and if there had been other guests it would have been TOO close in terms of noise and shared bathroom use. In her responses to other reviews, I find the owner to be defensive and always refers back to the low price ($120.00). I have been to much cleaner, better B&B's for that price. I don't usually write reviews, but I did in this case because I found the highly rated reviews no longer relevant and hence misleading.

Quaint house with multiple rooms. Nicely decorated. Room in the basement was the smallest but you had the whole basement to yourself with living area and bathroom. Upstairs rooms are a little bigger but all share a common bathroom. Hosts were very gracious and made our stay comfortable.

Honestly not the best experience I have had. There were no welcome materials in the room like eat here, do this and go there, breakfast is at this time etc. The breakfast was nice and they have a nice garden but that is about it. Our bed was in the lower level and even though we had a lot of space to ourselves it was just too dark. The location I cannot fault. Short drive to all major attractions in the area.

Accommodation was in the basement room. Room was fine other than being very cool. We asked for the air conditioning to be turned off which it was but, it kept coming back on. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good. Would have liked a main floor room. TV remotes needed new batteries.

Loved the welcoming warm hosts. Accommodating and helpful about local sights and even offered suggestions. Only criticism is room cleanliness... there was significant dust under the furniture and a couple stains on the comforter and curtain. Otherwise the king size bed was nice and TV was perfectly placed.

We were there for only one night but everything was fantastic, it's a small cozy house with 3 bedrooms, ours was small (it was the smallest room of the 3, we knew that going in) but it was nice and cozy. A nice patio and seating area out back with a big back yard and a well maintained garden. The hosts live in a seperate building onsite but they are literally 10 steps away whenever you need them. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic and they were not shy with reviews for local restaurants to try. We will be back!

Tanya, the host is very friendly and helpful, makes you feel really welcomed. The house is beautifully decorated, had fresh flowers and nice music playing at the background. One of the perks - it comes with a 20% discount for Scandinavian Spa, which we took advantage of. Would definitely recommend this place.Oh, and the breakfast was delicious!
