Wonderful hotel with spacious well equipped rooms! Lots of attention to details!
Wonderful breakfast buffet in fantastic setting! Thank you:)
Rooms were small but clean and modern. Some minor issues of repair in the bathroom. (Leaking shower and wobbly tap on hand basin)

Tried to check-in 20mins early (2:40 instead of 3pm) due to a full day at the Fringe which I was told would cost an additional £10 for early check-in.

Instead when I arrived at the hotel at 12:40am the 24hr receptionist was asleep and I had to ring the bell 3 times to wake them up. This was also the case the next day when I was making a cup of tea next to their position in the cafe area at 12:30am (no kettles or tea making facilities in the rooms) I managed to do the whole process without them waking up. Other guests were unable to obtain help until I pointed the member of staff out.

For the price they are charging during the festival I would expect they had enough staff on and paid better to be encouraged in their customer service. They were clearly overworked and exhausted.
Ideal location for the Fringe festival.
The main positive is the staff who were all very helpful and professional.
Breakfast is excellent value.
However, the room is the reason we won't return. This isn't the fault of the staff but of Premier Inn design.
The main issues:
The blackout blinds are brilliant. They are also pointless as the headboard lighting only ever dims and doesn't fully switch off!
The bathroom has glass doors, which are opposite the mirror. This doesn't offer great privacy, especially noise, if someone is still trying to sleep in the room.
The lighting is also not separate for the bathroom. This means you either bruise your shin on the toilet trying to manouvre in the dark, or you blind your partner! Really unhelpful when one is an early riser wanting to dress so they can slip down for a coffee.
Oh, and watch where your hands are in the night as you might accidentally switch on the lights by catching the touch screen (speaking from experience!)
Good location, less than ten minutes walk from Waverley, faces government office bldg so it’s quiet at night. Light meals (curry rice or pizza) available at lobby for less than £10

Some rooms have great view of Clayton hill
(5/f)

Con:
Air conditioners run by motion sensor for environmental reasons so sometimes it takes time to get the sensors recognizing you are in the room and switch things on
Note: I did not need air conditioning for my stay, unknown if that was good or not.

Loved this place, perfectly priced and a great location. Will 100% stay here again. Rooms are as small as in the pics, but we didn’t spend much time since we were exploring!
Hotel extremely quiet. Room description exactly as described. Problem with ineffective air con and sealed window made the room airless. With no regular housekeeping bathroom grouting in a dreadful state. We asked for room to be cleaned and air con to be checked nothing happened.
Breakfast for £5 was very good.
Dinner same 3 items each evening.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Hotel in an excellent position for sightseeing and nearby Waverley Station.
This accomodation was ideal for an overnight stay for hubby to attend the Rod Stewart concert. Compact rooms but more than ample. No frills or little extras like kettle with tea and coffee. It was nevertheless available on tap downstairs. No toiletries but we always take our own. Bed was super comfy and room very clean and adequate. £5 continental breakfast was ideal. Will definitely be using Premier Inn and Hub at Premier Inn in the future
Five, six, even seven star for the position... but unfortunately, in our 2-nights stay towards the end of June 2023, the rest was not satisfactory.
I'm not referring to the small size of the room: we were perfectly aware of it and actually curious to try it. But in a small room with one unopenable window the proper exchange of air is of paramount importance for a comfortable stay.
Unfortunately, the room's air conditioning system - apparently centrally controlled, considering the lag between activation and actual operation of the equipment - was not working properly.
So during the night the air in the room progressively turned heavy and humid, forcing us the morning after to open the room door to try exchanging the air in the room. We also noticed that the air conditioning system had not been cleaned in some time, as inside the fan there was a very evident accumulation of dust lints.
In addition, the room suffered from an annoying problem with the electric system that was making some lights blink continuously, even after switching off the lights, and emit a low beep (low, but perfectly audible in the silence of the room). The morning after we reported the problem to the reception, but, back at the end of the day for our second night, we discovered that they had done nothing and the blinking and beeping problem was still there.
The continental breakfast scored a bit better: the general quality was good, but the variety was rather limited.
Also peculiar is the attitude - a sly way for the hotel to save quite some money - regarding the daily cleaning of the rooms in case of multi-days stay: unless you explicitly request room cleaning that day, they won't do it.
Final line: with all the above, the cost is definitely way too high for the quality offered.
Check-in is easy and quick, service very good (got some extra pillows with no fuss). Coffee and tea is included but you have to go down to the lobby to get it as there's no facilities in the room.

For two people, one over average height, the bed can be very cramped. The room otherwise is small and simple, but well designed and efficient.

The shower left a lot to be desired, and the tile had mold in a lot of places. Needs a good scrub down.

Overall for the price it's inexpensive option for a night or two stay. Beyond that you might look for a bit more space next door in a traditional Premier Inn.

We ate here with a voucher, and on seeing how much the meal cost - definitely not worth it. The food was mostly nice, but very small portions. Went out somewhere else for a meal afterwards.

4-stars only because the service was fantastic from the staff and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. If I was choosing a place for fine dining, I would go somewhere else.

A nice restaurant but one can see how it lost its Michelin stars. The aesthetic is confusing (regency/Victorian/modern/seaside) and the food is good but not exceptional - some is bland and others clash in flavours. That being said the staff are super friendly and attentive, but the aesthetic and the food is not too quality for the price.

We went for lunch to celebrate a birthday. Overall it was a bit of a let down.
The location and the restaurant is very nice and the service very good.
But the food was very surprising and not in a good way. The portion were miniscule ( ex: 1 baby potato, 1 green bean and a small piece of porc) and the taste was confusing. Some stuff not seasoned, some to salty or sour, and some just strange.
We will not try it again, sorry.

Our second visit and again we were not dissapointed, this is now our favourite fine dining establishment in Scotland, yes the food is that good! The staff were polite, prompt and well presented, they went above and beyond with their hospitality, also their knowledge of the food is exceptional. This gives you a relaxed feeling to your dining experience and with the quality of food you will want more.

We visited here with some friends for dinner and drinks. I was so looking forward to it and it did not disappoint.
Decor was beautiful.
We opted for the 5 course, you get to choose from 2 starters, 1 soup, 2 mains, 1 cheese course and 2 desserts (21212) There was also some extra choices of specials so there was a great selection. The food was absolutely amazing.
Everything was explained perfectly to us from our extremely friendly hostess. All waiters and waitresses were fabulous, attentive and knowledgeable.
We started the evening with an amuse-bouche which was beautiful - almost like gazpacho accompanied with beautiful bread. Starter was the tasty Cheesy Barley Pudding, then followed the soup. For main I opted for Halibut which was cooked to perfection. The cheese course was next - this was just great. So may different cheeses and biscuits to choose from. Some I have never tried before so it was a lovely experience. We ended the evening with a Lemon Meringue "Bombe" all washed down wish prosecco.
Overall we were in the restaurant for a few hours. Nothing felt rushed - it was truly a unique and lovely experience with some fantastic food.
Perhaps some low music in the background would be nice but I cannot wait to go back.

Amazing experience. Not just a dinner, but full experience. Great communication when reserving, caring host, all is smooth, very nice ambiance. Food is exceptional. All is reasonably priced. Service is impeccable (not intimidating how it might be sometimes in such places, not pretentious, but professional and with human touch). The interior is very stylish. Highly recommended for a self-care treat, a date, family dinner, celebration.

Exceptional place for a very special occasion. You will be pampered a lot. My daughter loved the place.
It’s a Michelin star restaurant so you can expect a nice decor, private dining experience. All the dishes were nicely decorated however I have had better, softer meat at some much cheaper place. I would say chicken was way better cooked then red meat. Though the the quantity looks meager but when you finish you will be full.
